Let me just say at the start that the sourcing on this story is very suspect. Extremely suspect. Sketchier than the usual badly-sourced tabloid stories that we often write about. Apparently, Janet Charlton claimed earlier this week that Riley Keough had called off her engagement to English “bad boy” Alex Pettyfer. Alex, 21, met Riley, 22, while they filmed Magic Mike last year, and Alex has a thing for blonde costars, considering he also romanced Dianna Agron before he met Riley. Riley and Alex allegedly got engaged back in March, and the whole thing just seemed like a disaster waiting to happen – she’s wealthy and a third-generation celebrity/model/actress (she’s Elvis’s granddaughter, FTLOG). Alex is a “Bad Boy” with a horrible temper, a chip on his shoulder, and Dianna Agron’s friends accused him of stalking and harassing her – although to give Alex some credit, I do think he was right to believe Diana was screwing around on him with Sebastian Stan, because she totally was, and Sebastian was Dianna’s jumpoff.
Anyway, back to Riley and Alex. Allegedly, Riley broke off the engagement because she “caught” Alex cheating on her with a “lingerie model” named Chelsea Heath. Gossip Cop points out that Heath has denied the story directly, and a “source close to Keough tells Gossip Cop that she and Pettyfer have NOT broken up.” So why then is The Enquirer reporting the exact same thing – that Riley and Alex are over, and Lisa-Marie Presley is beyond thrilled?

The King’s wild-child granddaughter RILEY KEOUGH, 23, called off her engagement to “I Am Number Four” star ALEX PETTYFER after discovering he cheated on her with a sexy lingerie model, sources say.
But four-times-wed Lisa Marie never approved of the British hunk and is secretly thrilled the wedding is off, the sources add.
“Lisa Marie could so easily say, ‘I told you so,’ but she’s holding her tongue because she wants to be there for Riley,” revealed a close family friend. “Lisa Marie knows all too well what it feels like when a relationship you had high hopes for goes awry. For now, she wants to provide as much comfort and support as she can for Riley.”
Riley met British actor Pettyfer, 22, on the set of the male stripper movie “Magic Mike,” and they got engaged in March after a six-month romance.
But as The ENQUIRER reported, Lisa Marie advised Riley not to marry the actor, who’s known to have a bad temper and a vulgar mouth. She also feared Pettyfer just wanted a chunk of the estimated $300 million Presley family fortune.
“Riley was devastated when she heard Alex cheated on her in July with model Chelsea Heath,” said the source. “But for Lisa Marie, it’s the best thing that could have happened. She’s consoling Riley, but secretly she’s happy this guy is out of the picture.”
Maybe this particular story of infidelity is untrue, and maybe Alex and Riley are fine. Right now. But I have to say… Lisa-Marie is right. Riley and Alex shouldn’t get married. They’re way too young, and he’s too immature and she’s… well, I don’t even have a sense of what she’s like. I’m fine if she wants to bone a Bad Boy. Get some, he’s pretty hot. But don’t put a ring on it.

Never saw this guy’s appeal. Even in Magic Mike, he was clearly the odd (ugly) one out.

Why is everyone in such a rush to get married? It’s not a crime to cohabitate and, I don’t know, get to KNOW the person first. And besides, anyone that Channing Tatum hates is dirt in my book. Elvis’s grand daughter can do better.
Cohabitating with someone does not equal getting to know someone. You’d be surprised how many people live together, sometimes for a long time, and don’t know each other. Some people like marriage and aren’t into “shacking up”. Getting married quickly and rushing into marriage aren’t necessarily the same thing. Besides, with a lot of couples it wouldn’t mattered if they married quickly, waited a while, or shacked up; they just aren’t right for each other and the relationship isn’t going to last.
I believe I can say with some certainty that he is a wanker. That is all.
