The numbers are in, and I’m surprised because I thought this divorce was settled eons ago. Apparently Kelsey Grammer got a quickie divorce from Camille so he could marry his jumpoff, whom is better than all of his other wives and baby mamas in every way according to him, and then put off dealing with the financials. It was a “bifurcated” divorce in that they were granted a divorce in February, 2011 but the money part hadn’t been figured out yet. Well the second part, the money, has been settled and Camille is a freaking wealthy woman. She got powerball-level money, and she’s selling her huge money sucking mansion so she should be able to comfortably live off this settlement for several lifetimes. I would say she didn’t deserve that much, and she still pretty much doesn’t, but Kelsey is being a vindictive ass lately so… work it Camille. Get your cash. Here’s TMZ’s report:
Camille Grammer will get roughly $30 million in her divorce from Kelsey Grammer — and if we can say … she deserves it.
Sources connected with the couple tell TMZ … Camille and Kelsey are “very close” to inking a property settlement agreement. We’re told the total value of the assets in the marriage is around $60 million. We say “around” because a big chunk is the 3 homes they own which are now on the market. They’re estimating when everything is sold the pot will be around $60 mil.
Sources tell us Camille will get a straight 50% of the assets. Here’s why she deserves it. We’re told when the couple married, Kelsey was broke. Pretty shocking, considering he had earned “Cheers” and “Frasier” money. But bad decisions and a drug problem nearly sent Kelsey to the poor house.
We’re told Camille righted the ship and managed the money to where they now have tens of millions to split.
That’s a lot of tossed salad and scrambled eggs.
When I first read “tossed salads” in that TMZ story… well we know that Kelsey is “very sexually adventurous” according to him, but that’s a reference to the intro song for “Frasier” and Kelsey didn’t dictate the lyrics or anything so we can take the tossed salad reference at face value. I just got skeeved out thinking about it.
This massive settlement may not be to Camille’s liking. Reports around December, 2010 claimed that Kelsey offered her a $30 million settlement at that time but that she was holding out for $50 million. Kelsey and Camille had no prenup, and Kelsey doesn’t have a prenup with young Kayte, either. Kelsey better hope the fourth time is the charm or he’ll be splitting that leftover $30 million with Kayte. My heart bleeds for him.

They were married for 14 years. He was broke when they married. She has supported him thru cocaine and alcohol abuse. Also his heart attack that almost took his life. Not to mention she is the mother of two of his children.
apparently he was broke form drugs and bad decisions when they met and married and she played a part in helping him get his act together and amassing/managing his fortune. I think she’s a waste of a human being but I’d say she earned her keep dealing with his douchebaggery
She supported him through his highest-earning Frasier years. This is totally what divorce settlements are about — recognizing one spouse’s input in the other’s career through moral and logistical support.
She is nonetheless a jerk, but she supported her jerk of a husband when he earned most of his money. By contrast, look at Charlie Sheen’s success at managing his substance abuse and career without a significant other. (Not that it’s the significant other’s responsibility, blah blah, just an example of a similar situation not working out.)
I was watching Real Houswives when she was with him. When he was in NY and obviously had no interest in her, it was painful. The way he did her was so dirty.
I didn’t like her that season. After that season when they were seperated, it’s like she was humbled.

Not inconsistent with other Hollywood settlements we’ve seen. Kelsey, of all people, should know to sign a pre-nup, but I guess he didn’t have much to worry about in terms of assets when he and Camille married.

Nobody keeps an alcoholic sober but themselves. He may credit her for being there, but, he is the only one keeping himself sober. Alcoholics have to want it themselves, no one can force them, or influence them. It’s on them alone.

i think the broke claims are BS from Camille’s camp. It would be near impossible to run through that money on coke and live to tell. She did help keep him sober but she is not responsible for his financial success. They are two awful people who deserved each other. She makes fun of his sexual performance on camera and he returns the favor on Oprah. Just cause he is better at it doesn’t make him any worse than her.

If he managed to squander the huge fortune the he earned in the 80’s and 90’s, and it’s only thanks to Camille’s good sense that he has anything at all, the fair thing is for her to receive half of everything.
