Is Robert Pattinson trying to make Kristen jealous by mentioning Carey Mulligan?

Robert Pattinson covers the new issue of L’Uomo Vogue, with is like Men’s Vogue Italy, I think. The magazine is usually good for male models and the occasional international celebrity – I remember that Michael Fassbender was on the cover of L’Uomo less than a year ago too. I can’t imagine that the studio wants Sparkles to do small, avant-garde photo shoots in Italian men’s fashion magazines – they would rather him do sit-down cover stories with magazines like Details, or GQ, or Vanity Fair. I can’t say that I’m terribly impressed by this cover shot – his eyes look beautiful, true, but it’s still not great. I’ll hold my opinion until the full pictorial is released, though.

Meanwhile, you know how Sparkles signed on to, like, a half-dozen films in the wake of Kristen Stewart’s affair with Rupert Sanders? One of those films was a supporting part in a film called Hold on to Me, in which he would play the boyfriend (or fiancé) of Carey Mulligan’s character. The idea of Sparkles joining up with a young actress of quality like Carey… well, that’s a good move for him. And Carey is recently married to Marcus Mumford, so it’s not like anything would or could happen between Carey and Sparkles, right? RIGHT?!

HIS VAMPIRE BITES!

Jury’s still out on whether star-crossed “Twilight” twits ROB PATTINSON and KRISTEN STEWART are really back together again, or – as I scooped weeks ago – in a reswoonion ordered by slavemasters (aka movie moguls) to promote their flick…but this tidbit tattled by a pal of both doesn’t bode well for romance:

Rob just told Kristen he’s signed for a flick with hot Brit actress CAREY MULLIGAN, knowing it would trigger a jealous streak generated by Rob’s constant raves about Carey back when she was dating one of his pals.

Tweaking his maybe-love’s green monster, Rob drawled: “Can you believe I’ll be playing Carey Mulligan’s lover?”

Noting Kristen’s jealous glare, Vampire Boy twisted the knife and purred: “Why are you pouting? You’re not jealous of Carey, are you? Don’t be ridiculous…she’s a married woman! I would never!”

(As in: “I would never screw around with a married person – like you did with director/loverboy RUPERT SANDERS.) Ouch!

[From Mike Walker’s column, The Enquirer]

Yeah. It’s kind of a non-story. If Robert fools around on Kristen Stewart… well, it wouldn’t be with Carey Mulligan. I think highly of that girl, and I don’t think she would ever, ever want to get involved in any kind of Twihard nonsense. Of course, even her mere presence adjacent to Robert Pattinson will be enough to make some Twihards hyperventilate. That should be fun.

Why would he mention her? She is a newlywed, I don’t think they are going to end up running off together anytime soon!

  2. dooliloo says:

    Carey Mulligan is married.

Frankly, Sparkles making his whatever K-Screwed jealous well it’s just as pathetic, how about he dumps her plain and simple.. Oh no wait it’s “necessary” for the Twilight promo, it’s… Inevitable.

  3. Shitler says:

This Mike Walker needs to quit The Enquirer & become a writer of overwrought fanfic for silly prepubescent girls. That was absolutely ludicrous.

    • Naye in VA says:

      +1 “I would never!”
I bet he clutched his pearls too

    • AlexandraJane says:

It really was! “He purred” who purrs and then reports to the enquirer?!

    • j.eyre says:

Absolutely. My understanding of this couple is about as much as my understanding of quantum physics but I read this thinking “there is no way any of this was said.”

Because honestly, wouldn’t his response have been “why are you pouting – I didn’t say we were going out in a mini cooper… I would take a van.”

Here is another photo from that photoshoot and it looks like an ad for gay sadomaso club.

    Hilarious.

You’d think a gossip columnist could at least TRY to make a story sound plausible. This “story” is so bad it’s comical.

Aside from the fact that the supposed dialogue between them sounds utterly ridiculous – do you really think Robert would try to make Kristen jealous with a happily married newlywed? Or that a “pal” of both would run to the Enquirer?

Not to mention that the writer states that they are only together to promote the movie. If that’s the case, why would Kristen be jealous? Or why would Rob try to make her jealous? There would only be jealousy if there was an actual relationship. The writer is trying to play it both ways.

And as for the photoshoot – Rob, it really is time to get that publicist you were thinking about. Really. Do it now.

  6. insomniac says:

    “Reswoonion”?

No, really. “RESWOONION”??? Who comes up with this crap?

    • Brittney says:

Hahaha, that was actually my favorite part of the story. It just sounds like it’d be fun to say.

Then again, I only realized this morning that “Twihard” is a play on “try-hard”… so maybe I’m not the best authority on word play.

  7. boredsuburbanhousewife says:

Can only wish this was true. It would be great for Rob in any number of respects if he he dumped Stew and got with any one of several quality young actresses. Unfortunately, a more truthful blurb might be “Rob looks forward to admiring Carey’s work in between trips to Starbucks to fetch Stew her double lattes.”

  8. Starlight says:

I will not make comment on this guy until after the BD2.

  9. FreeSpiritedGirl says:

OH MY GOD! Did he really say that to Kristen? Really? Hahahaha! I could imagine Kristen’s face! Wahahahaha!

  10. daz says:

maybe there is trouble in paradise for the newly married couple

  11. Ramona says:

Can’t wait for BD2 to be over and we can see if they are really together or not. Hopefully not. As a victim of a cheater myself I really admired the swift action he took in the early days – moving vans say so much, and the silence as she hung herself with the admission/apology. Nearly cried seeing him bring her coffee and towels.

    • Annie says:

I had high hopes for him. I was rooting for him. But the powers that be convinced him to try and be civil, and as he had to deal with her and speak to her again she made her way into his heart and reclaimed his balls.

I always suspected that he saw her TIFF pictures and that awful weight loss and felt bad. Gosh, even I felt bad! That’s the evidence of how the affair/break-up was not staged.

But then the photo-op, the weekly relationship updates, etc. Him fetching her coffee and a towel with that pathetic goofy grin “my love, I’m so lucky to have you. I won’t neglect you ever again!” and I’m GONE..

      • JS says:

I hadn’t noticed this until somebody on another site pointed it out but, if you revisit his interviews in August with (Jon) Stewart and Kimmel, his entire demeanour changes very obviously between the two. With Stewart, in early August, while he is professional, he is closed, tense, fundamentally unhappy; with Kimmel he is relaxed, joking, apparently without a care. The latter was around the time KS came out wearing his stuff for her first post-scandal photo op (and bought her new house?). IMO these are the clues as to when they made their peace. It was just over 2 weeks before TIFF and, honestly, if he hadn’t agreed to give her another chance, I’m not sure she’d have made Toronto. I think she was completely dead in the water in mid-August! At TIFF we saw her 2 weeks into recovery! At the moment (PR aside) I think she needs him emotionally much more than he needs her. He does seem to love her unreservedly though, which is why, I think, he hasn’t retaliated (and won’t, despite almost unlimited opportunity) and why she’s still standing!

      • honeybee says:

        To JS
“At the moment (PR aside) I think she needs him emotionally much more than he needs her”

Interesting and I agree that she needs him a lot more despite her bravado that she is this cool, badass , internally strong whatever.

I loved the single Rob we got when he promoted Cosmo. He couldn’t care less about the scandal and except for that awkward Jon Stewart interview, he was his usual self in that Times Q&A with Cronenberg, Kimmel, GMA and everything.

Who knows how much begging and pleading she did to get him to give her another chance. I also think their reconciliation happened before Tiff. Hence her purchase of another home close by for easy visits.

Sick he reconciled with her within a month’s time
If not for BD2 this might not have happened so quickly imo.

      • JS says:

@honeybee. “Sick he reconciled with her within a month’s time If not for BD2 this might not have happened so quickly imo.”

I dunno. I have the feeling this was a very personal thing. If he really loves her (and all the evidence is that he does), it’s hard to see somebody you love suffer even if it’s entirely self-inflicted and even if they’ve hurt you too. People say she humiliated him but that depends on how you look at the embarrassment to his public image, because no way was he at fault! The person she really humiliated and embarrassed was herself. What she did was astonishingly self-destructive and she hurt herself really badly at every level. Apart from losing him (which I think was a catastrophic personal blow for her) she completely annihilated that honesty-first badass image she had been cultivating so carefully, leaving her looking like a hypocrite and a fake, even, I think, in her own eyes. She also wrecked her own confidence, which makes it very hard to recover from the other hits. The word that springs to my mind is “defeated”. When you see somebody you really love has done that to themselves, it takes a hard heart not to want to help. I think the main factor in his forgiving her so quickly, apart from love, was just the simple fact that she had done so much damage to herself and (he judged) she couldn’t fix it without him. JMHO of course.

  12. Freya Magritt says:

I can understand the importance of the aggressive promotion: Summit is in huge debt, and Twihards are supposed to watch the movie repeatedly in the name of never-ending epic love. But if after the promo they are still a package, I’m through with him.

    • Ramona says:

      Me too.

    • Perplexed says:

Same here. I share yr disappointment.
Was never into Twilight but enjoyed his interviews, some of his other stuff.
I don’t plan on watching any Twilight Promo, altho I’ll check here to see how it went – can’t help but be curious.
But overall, I just can’t stomach those two in the same frame, and even his solo stuff has now become, by association, somewhat off-putting.
His life, his choice, none of my business, but if the day comes when he really does kick her to the curb, I’ll be back in a jiffy with a glass of good bubbly.

      • honeybee says:

I feel the same as you regarding the movie and seeing them together. The Halloween pics of them together sickens me. Amazing that he could move on so easily and quickly – smh

BUT I still like him a lot. He has this one flaw (as I see it that is his weakness for her) and I don’t want to hold that against him. His other qualities that I like is what I want to focus on. I am hoping he will wise up soon and drift apart from her once he starts his movie shoots next year.

    • Perplexed says:

      @Honeybee
It is undeniable that he possesses many endearing qualities, and I empathize with the conflicting pressures he has to endure. I just hope that eventually he gets the respect he deserves where it counts the most.

  13. Dark says:

    ugly guy

    • smiley says:

dont think so ,he is makin her even the “j” as in jealousy or anythin ,he is happly halloweenin with her at a maroon 5 bash !

  14. The Original Genevieve says:

Kaiser, this is the first post involving KStew that we’ve agreed upon since the advent of the Mini-Coopering :p

I think this post is pure fiction, and I would NEVER believe that the dazzling Carey Mulligan would be down with an affair.

So…as you said, another non-story from The Enquirer. Meh.

  15. honeybee says:

I am not a fan of this shoot either. But kudos to him for trying something new.

Hate the jacket but love the hair/face….

  16. Thiajoka says:

Thanks for that last picture of K-Stew. I have worn a black bra with a white shirt plenty of times and now I’ve actually seen how ridiculous it looks. You’ve done my hometown a service today.
