Nick Lachey may be hot and heavy with Vanessa Minnillo, but he’s not above talking about the huge crush he had on Carmen Electra when he was a teenager. Electra and Lachey both attended Cincinnati’s School For Creative And Performing Arts, and Lachey says she was the “subject of my boyhood affections.”

Not uncommon to the unrequited high school crush millions of us have lived through or seen in hundreds of teen movies, Carmen Electra had no idea Nick Lachey even existed.

She tells the New York Daily News, “I don’t actually remember him in school because he’s a couple of years younger than I am. It’s so funny! (But) I’m really proud of him, and I always have to root for the hometown boys.”

The image of a young Nick Lachey pining away in the school cafeteria watching, riveted as Electra chows down on a hot dog for lunch is fabulous, no? Poor guy.

That said, Lachey doesn’t seem too bothered by the put down and only has nice things to say about school-mate Electra.

“She was always kind of the subject of many young boys’ admiration when I was in school, and I was certainly one of those boys. She didn’t become good looking late in life; she’s always been good looking.”
