When we were figuring out assignments, everybody completely blanked out on George Clooney and Stacy Keibler!! Ha. The (Self-Appointed) Chairman will not be happy about that. Anyway, George had a good night. He produced Argo, and his boy Ben Affleck won Best Director and the film won Best Drama, following the same pattern set by the Critics Choice Awards. So why and how did Ben get snubbed for an Oscar nomination for Director? I still have no idea, unless the Academy has been reading Celebitchy and/or they think/know he’s full of it.
But back to Clooney… he brought his girl with him. Can you believe that this is Stacy Keibler’s second awards season? Elisabetta Canalis made it through two awards seasons too, didn’t she? So Stacy is in special territory, soon to be unchartered territory once she hits that two-year mark this summer. Will she make it? Indicators suggest she might… maybe. My indicators include “shows steady improvement in styling” and “doesn’t speak unless spoken to”. Stacy achieved both on the red carpet last night. Her dress is Armani, and it was a really nice and appropriate look. Her body looked great, and she kept everything simple. I thought her hair was TOO simple, but it’s okay.
As for Clooney, he had two of my favorite moments of the night. First, on the red carpet, he was walking up to Ryan Seacrest as Julianna Margulies was leaving, and when she saw him, she hugged him… hard. Like, it was a hug of genuine friendship, not some quickie professional hug. Call me crazy, but I buy that Clooney & Marguilies really love each other (as friends). My other favorite Clooney moment was when Amy Poehler sat on his lap and they had a drink together. That was amazing!!

what does a “producer” do?
Provide money for the production,they invest and also find other investors.
Producers don’t always put up their own money. In fact, more often now you’ll find some of the producers on a film put up no money at all.
I doubt Clooney put up any money for this film.
A producer’s role covers entire production from inception to distribution. Money is one aspect of that role.
You do get producers who specialise in only one aspect of a production eg only deal with the investment side. Or packaging or the actual production or script development or post production or selling and marketing etc.
People tend to see the money aspect of producing only and assume that’s all a producer does.
That’s why the producer is awarded the BEST FILM category because they are involved in entire film to create the best film.

Good one Jayna! I saw them when they had to pose. She totally waits for his cue – just stood there until he put his arm around her waist, then should put her arm around his. She has to wait for him to initiate the contact, she was obviously not allowed. Same with her solo pix. He barked at her and she just turned and stopped posing, walked away. She knows her place. But what kind of relationship is that? Paid for, that’s what. I think he and Randy get it on. I don’t think it’s Cindy at all.
He always looks happier when he’s with his buddies or elsewhere than when he’s on the red carpet with her.

I’m liking most of this look but her boobs look ridiculous. I really hope good old Stace is kept for at least another season, her dress sense has improved since the contract began so by next year her hair should be looking dramatically better, therefore if they’re done by the end of the next awards season theoretically she’ll be looking the best she ever has.

As a humanitarian, he sure knows how to date women extremely impressed with the “good life” of the rich and famous.
I took away from that that she didn’t know she was going until the last minute and that calls were made to boutiques for their newest stock. No one had seen the dress yet so it was bought and fitted in time for the show.
But I give her a slow clap for being what she is: a company for a nominee. She didn’t try to stay on the spotlight this time around because during the Argo premiere and Festivals, she was acting as if George was the director+star of the movie, and it was Ben’s show.

I think George is keeping a low profile during the award season to give Ben the limelight, so he had to tame Stacy’s puppy dog behavior and also it seems Grant Heslov George’s partner did more of the work on Argo I think that is why Ben forgot to thank George.

Did you not notice George in his interviews? He couldn’t even look at Stacy Keibler. The hand holding and putting their arms around each other looked painful. Unless they are on the red carpet you don’t even see them together they are so over each other it’s hard to watch. I would feel sorry for her except she accepts it. With the Elisabetta I saw chemistry, the way he would look at her on the red carpet or at least looked proud. He barely acknowledges Stacy is beside him. .I just saw ET show where the blond was interviewing them, teasing him with some questions about them. It was sad how he acted. He wouldn’t even look Stacy in the eyes. Then he threw out begrudgingly because he had to say something an unethusiastic faint “We’re having fun.” It’s his body language with her, never touching her except in a friendly casual way. He’s flittier with the blond interviewer.
But what I could not understand, it’s after he talked to Julianne, he waited for Stacy to come upstairs before giving an interview to Seacrest. I didn’t get that. By the way, Michael K posted photos of Julianne and George that I suppose were taken while they were looking at Stacy as she was coming up. Their faces were priceless.

I too have felt for the longest time that he was in pain, look at his eyes. I have not liked the fact that with Stacey this normally private man all is being revealed ie Angelina did not speak to her on the plane, because of his malaria he doesn’t want to get married. Too much information I have never heard the others reveal so much and I now get angry at this. Whether he stays with her or not just put a gag in her.
