Yay, new Pippa Middleton photos! Anything to make me forget those photos of Pippa where she wasn’t wearing the famous Middleton eyeliner. Pippa was photographed yesterday at The Cheltenham Festival in England. The event is also being called “the National Hunt” which is some kind of racing event. Don’t ask me to explain because I don’t know.
Anyway, as you can see, Pippa really pulled out all the stops for this appearance. She’s wearing one of those fur caps that I always think of as “Russian hats” but they have other names. Pippa’s mom Carole has also worn hats like that before, and Kate too – Kate memorably wore a Russian fur hat when William dumped her in 2007 and she was trying to get some attention. Pippa’s $1300 mustard/chartreuse (?) coat is by Katherine Hooker, and I kind of like it on Pippa. Very few women can pull off that color, and Pippa is kind of working it.
As for the dude… that is NOT Pippa’s reported boyfriend Nico Jackson. That blonde dude has been identified as Tom Kingston, who is apparently Pippa’s “old friend”. You think they’re just friends? I think Tom looks into it. Tom looks like he’s game. Tom looks like he wouldn’t mind marrying one of the Wisteria Sisters. And Pippa looks jazzed to be with a man who doesn’t mind being photographed with her too. Tom is apparently wealthy and he’s being described as a “former banker”. Pippa has been seen with Tom before – she was hanging out with him (in public) in 2011 just before she and Alex Loudon broke up too. And they spent time together last year too! So at least it’s a consistent friendship. They should totally get married. I’m serious! He looks like he’s into her.

That wasn’t JUST a post-facial issue she had before. Someone had suggested that it looked to be windburn & sunburn combo from skiing. They were right. She had recently competed in this huge cross-country ski race that lasts 7-8 hours. WTH?! She’s kind of hard core and I’ll never understand athletes. 🙂

Like the boots and the coat is kind of working for her. She is letting down the Middleton brand going out with her hair looking like that, though.
No idea who the guy is but he isn’t bad looking. The fact that she hasn’t jumped on marrying him makes me think he’s either not rich enough or well-connected enough for the aspiring Middletons.
She can wear all the fox fur hats she wants but she is still nasty looking and that man is an idiot. He obviously loves all the attention from the paps. Ugh.
He might just like the paps here and there. Doesn’t mean he won’t get sick of it down the road.
I don’t hate Pippa and her outfit is cute. She dresses the best in late fall through late winter. And I hate fur, but I looove that hat! The mustard looks good on her too!

I think we can justify vintage fur. The animal is long-dead, and it’s wasteful to stop using things that are useful. Now, if only Pippa and Kate would start wearing only vintage fur!

There’s hate for the make-up-less pics? I think she looks MUCH better in those photos. Yes, she needs some foundation to even things out, but she looks years younger without those black slits for eyes.
She really needs a stylist, imo. She seems “stuck” with her choices and she could look much better with the right styling.

I think these days, now the jig is up, the females are cropped out of pap photos because it doesn’t fit the narrative of Pippa trophy title hunter.
The irony being that her female friends are equally trophy posh, cultivated for their connections and family wealth.
Yeah – actually unlike Kate, Pippa actually does appear to have female friends. One particular friend shows up so regularly people have begun to ask just who she is! She also has lots of male friends, who are really just friends – there was a picture of her out recently with Lord Stafford’s heir, Toby Fitzherbert – she was giving him a hug (he’s married to one of her friends) an old friend she went to Uni with (just like George Percy – who again has always just been a friend.)
The press always acts as if every male who stands next to Pippa for a few minutes is madly in love with her!
The mail had pictures from the race and those fur hats were EVERYWHERE. Nearly half the pictures they featured had those hats.

Side note. The today show had a fluff piece on how women are spending $7-15k to have “Kate’s Regal Nose”. I choked on my coffee.

Pippa and Kate, and to a lesser extent, Carole, all look so much better when they are smiling. Their faces in repose are harsh.
Of course, putting down the eyeliner would probably help that situation a great deal.
According to the Daily Mail (so possibly not the best source), the designer of that coat was tweeting about how great Pippa looked in it – several hours before she arrived at the races.
If she is doing product placements or even just accepting freebies, she needs to be more careful not to get caught.
Not in conflict with what you said, but, that is a custom fitted coat option the designer offers (about £850). So it makes sense that the designer/staff would have known, and seen her ahead of time for measuring and fitting.
To your point, I did wonder about that. The designer had a stall/booth at the event and Pippa wearing one seems very providential. Is it in conflict of anything though? Pippa’s not on Royal Family payroll. With all the hassle she gets for just being and average person, I would grab a free coat or so, too.
But Apples, how could the designer have known that Pippa was going to wear the coat hours before the races unless she was told beforehand?
I think everyone knows that she accepts freebies (the Modalu bags are a prime example). I don’t mind it, but her fashion picks are always either hideous or uninspired.
Kate and Pippa used to get freebies all the time when Kate was a royal GF. Everything from Cars to clothing. Although to be clear, the car wasn’t entirely free and clear, they got it at the royal discount.
Pippa continues to get freebies. All those bags she’s papped in are freebies.

For some reason these pictures totally remind me of Lady Mary and Matthew Crawley from Downton Abbey– obviously a less glamorous and more plain version.
Obviously Lady Mary would never get caught dead wearing a fur hat and her hair would most likely be up in one of those fancy 1920s hairstyles. But Lady Mary and Matthew commenting on a horse race as they argue about the mismanagement of Downton Abbey? If the show took place in modern day, I could see Michelle Dockery rocking that coat!
