If you would have told me a year ago that Tiger Woods would date a well known fellow sports star and would publicly announce that he’s coupled-up with her, I would have laughed. It wouldn’t have seen plausible back then, but somehow this makes sense. Somehow Tiger getting all serious with another hot blonde, repeating the same patterns, seems perfectly normal now that it’s happening. Anyway Tiger and professional skiier Lindsey Vonn have been dating for maybe a year – tops. They were spotted at the same event, separately, last April. Then we first heard about them dating just two months ago. US Weekly says they’ve been dating since this fall. So they haven’t been together long. Lindsey thinks they’re serious, though, and she’s naive and dickmatized enough to want people to know about it. She posted couples portraits with Tiger on her Facebook and Instagram pages, with an hilarious message about how she wanted privacy:
I guess it wasn’t a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods. Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy. Of course he pulled the privacy card too. Of course. That makes so much sense when you’ve posed for a family portrait with the person and released the best photos to the press.
You have to have some deep issues to date a dude like this after his history. I get the guys wanting another long term relationship – that’s how they got in their messes in the first place, they love having a steady piece and a bunch of adoring fans on the side. This is going to end up like Jesse James and his first high profile relationship post-Sandra Bullock, Kat Von D. Remember that? Kat planned a wedding, got a tattoo for Jesses, publicly declared her love and then tweeted that it was over because Jesse was cheating on her with a bunch of women. No duh. Lindsey wants to keep her relationship with Tiger to her family and close friends though, she would never tell us if that happened to her. Oh and the comments on these pictures on Lindsey’s facebook page and Instagram are pretty much what you would expect. I counted several that simply said “FFS”.

I don’t buy the fake part. He’s won enough tournaments since that Thanksgiving night that he’s pretty much replaced all the sponsors he lost. There doesn’t seem to be much chemistry because he was raised to be a golf-playing robot rather than a functioning person. And Lindsay has spent pretty much her whole life skiing, so she probably doesn’t have a deep emotional capacity either. They seem perfect together.

I don’t know why everyone is ragging on the couple photo thing. In the south it is quite popular. My husband and I couldn’t afford a prof photog for our wedding ( I now regret), and we plan on doing engagement style photos this spring to send to his relatives in Germany. I’m looking forward to it.

But these pictures were professionally done for release to the press. I’m sure Lindsey (like all women including me) looks better when she actually thinks about it (her hair, makeup, etc.). These pictures look like she didn’t make much of an effort at all and that’s strange to me. I just had pictures done for an online dating website. I put more effort into my pictures and I’m just looking for a few dates 🙂
