Is Amy Poehler dating comedian Nick Kroll 7 months after her marriage ended?

Here are some new photos of Amy Poehler doing some grocery shopping yesterday in West Hollywood. These photos just make me wish that Amy was my mom and she was going to make me dinner. Right? She seems like the kind of mom who likes to guzzle the “cooking wine” while she makes dinner.

Anyway, it’s been about seven months since Amy and Will Arnett announced their split (they announced last September). Since then, it seems like Amy has “won” the split even though there really doesn’t seem to be that sense of competition between she and Will. Still, she co-hosted the Golden Globes, presented at the Emmys with Louis CK (and she looked awesome), and she got some questionable breakup bangs, but overall… she “won”. So has enough time passed for Amy to start dating again?

Amy Poehler seems to have moved on from her estranged husband, Will Arnett. The “Parks and Recreation” star was spotted out on a date with actor and comedian Nick Kroll at the Pikey Cafe and Bar on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles last Friday night.

Kroll has a sketch comedy show, “The Kroll Show,” on Comedy Central.

A spy tells us the two looked “cozy” as they sat across from each other at a small table. The couple also went unnoticed by other customers as they dined.

“No one really recognized them,” a witness told us. While sources tell us that this wasn’t a first date, reps for the two comics didn’t get back to us.

Poehler separated from Arnett last September after nine years of marriage. The couple has two children, Archibald, 4, and Abel, 2, together.

I’m including photos of Nick Kroll below – I was vaguely familiar with the name, and now that I’ve put the name to a face, I realize that I’ve seen him all over the place. He takes part in Comedy Central shows and E! shows all the time. He’s funny and he has a sort of “what if Woody Allen was a hipster” vibe. She could do WAY worse.

Good for her. I like all the parties involved here, but I think it’s fine for her to move on. And Nick Kroll’s new show is hilarious – best thing I’ve seen in a while!

  2. cheerfulg says:

Very. Very. Good. For. Her. Amy deserves the utmost in happiness since she brings that to so many people. You go girl.

  3. Nanz says:

It’s weird that I’m still bummed about her divorce. But I say go girl. Get it. 😉

  4. Caroline says:

and he’s guest-starred on Parks and Rec as “the Douche” (an obnoxious local radio host)

    • DeltaJuliet says:

Ugh THAT’s where I know him from. I was trying to figure out where I knew him from and why I didn’t like him 😀

    • Kate says:

Leslie and the Douche seems so wrong, though! But in real life, they’re cute. I was kind of hoping she’d hook up with Louis C.K.

    • lucy2 says:

      Crazy Ira and the Douche!

I kind of held out hope she and Will would work it out and get back together, I like them both so much, but either way, I wish her happiness. I think she’s an awesome person, and she deserves it.

  5. brin says:

As long as she doesn’t get engaged next week, I think it’s fine.
Her expression is hilarious in the last pic: “Yeah, I farted”.

  6. Hautie says:

They may have announced the impending divorce in September, but chances are high they had not been together for months prior to September.

So trying to shame a girl for having dinner with a guy, is kind of sh*tty.

As if, Poehler is suppose to mourn the end of her marriage, for a few years or something.

She does not strike me as a girl, out there humping on anything with a pulse. Plus everyone deserves a little adult time, with you have 2 small kids at home. 🙂

    • Kaiser says:

Where did I try to “shame” her?

      • Erinn says:

I think it was how the title was worded. It can be read as accusatory. It has the implication of “ONLY 7 months after her marriage ended”, though I think you probably didn’t intend that. <3

      • sunnyinseattle says:

I thought Kaiser was very nice about it. She was simply discussing it. I didn’t see any “shaming” at all! Maybe you should re read the article and try again? Reading comprehension is an awesome thing by the way! 😉

  7. Samtha says:

Is she wearing Katie Holmes’ divorce booties?

    • bopit says:

bahaha! It’s like the Sisterhood of the Traveling Divorce Booties.

    • Holly says:

I just saw Rashida Jones (Amy’s “wife”–she calls her that) wearing those too and Jessica Alba as well and someone else. These boots are def on a world tour!

  8. Mrs. Darcy says:

I don’t get the she could do “way worse” comment – what, if she were J.Lo or Demi and had no taste? She’s adorable and could date hotter guys than this imo. Arnett was cuter than this dude; clearly she goes for funny though so as long as she is happy that’s the main thing. I do think male comedians come with a bag of issues all their own though, would be nice to see her just have fun with some eye candy!

    • Sweet Dee says:

Perhaps she cares about things like character and intelligence more than looks?

      • Mrs. Darcy says:

Um yeah I was more implying that Kaiser made it sound like she’d be lucky to get this sort of dweeby looking guy, and from the sound of Arnett’s issues, talented and characterful as he may be, sometimes the smart creative types don’t equal happiness. Lighten up.

      • Sweet Dee says:

Um yeah. Considering how everyone blogging on this site loves Amy, I’m pretty sure you misread the entire post.

As for what I said, it was a pretty lighthearted statement. Tongue in cheek, you know? Hector projector.

  9. Hannah says:

Oh dear, I was thinking of Nick Offerman at first and thought: “Wait, isn’t he with Megan Mullaly?”

    • bns says:

      I did that too. Weird.

    • Poink517 says:

Is he with Megan mullaly?? Totally didn’t know that, but that would be awesome!!

      • MollyB says:

Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman have been married for a long time, over a decade, I think. I read an interview with them a while ago and it seems like they have an awesome marriage.

Am I the only one who watches The League! I love it and he’s funny on that too.

    • lem says:

      ruxin is my favorite.

      • Bijlee says:

Lol I like Andre and ruxin the best. Taco is my least favorite….I’m kinda scared to have said that.

      • Amy says:

Rafi is my number one favorite, but Ruxin’s definitely grown on me.

I didn’t really care for Kroll at first, but the more I fell in love with The League and the more I see him in other shows, the more I like him.

“Baby Jeffrey, forever unclean” is one of my favorite lines ever.

    • Poink517 says:

My hubby loves that show, but I’ve never seen it – ill have to check it out.

    • Bijlee says:

He’s hysterical! I especially love his scenes with Jeffrey goldbluM. The father son pairing is genius. They play so well off each other. I love him, he’s a funny guy and the league is awesome! Andre has to be my favorite though…but yeah it feels like no one watches it.

    • dina says:

      best show ever!!! love ruxin.

    • Alli says:

The League is in my Top 3 favorite TV shows.

Painkiller Ruxin is the best. Corndog Corndog Corndog Corndog.

So jealous of Amy. Go get him girl!

      • Holly says:

Painkiller Ruxin–good times!!! And Special Ladies’ Day Ruxin! Well, honestly, pretty much every Ruxin.

The League is one of the most quotable shows I’ve ever seen. It’s like a crass Seinfeld with all of crazy characters and overlapping/hilarious plots and twists. I scream-laugh when I watch sometimes. Almost everything about is brilliant, I still don’t know wtf fantasy football is really, but it’s still genius.

I love the idea that Amy and “the douche” are hooking up in real life… so wrong it’s right. NK seems like a seriously decent guy in actual life.

  11. kc says:

Will and Amy 4evah! (sob) 🙂

  12. dina says:

he’s on the league, he’s hilarious! i like this pairing.

  13. bea says:

That last photo of Amy sez it all – she really isn’t enjoying having her privacy violated by the paps in the grocery store. I would like to talk to Amy about those jeans……not flattering.

Nick Kroll’s career is really heating up. I could see them as a couple.

Her ex, Will Arnett, while being HILARIOUS, seemed like he might have been the reason for the split. He’s been looking overly worked-out, dressed young and tan……kind of mid-life crisis looking…….

    • aims says:

Im sad about their break up. I really thought Amy and Will were a good match. But who really knows what goes on in a marriage? She’s fine dating again. She doesn’t strike me as a girl who has to have a man. Can’t be single, ever (hello Taylor). So, I wish her well. I have wish both her and Will the best, divorce sucks, even if the two people are friendly to one another.

      • Lisa says:

What made their relationship great? I like Amy, but I didn’t fall apart they split. Meanwhile, you’d think my friend was their child, she took it so hard!

  14. mel says:

I just love her. I saw Ask Amy for the first time the other day…she is AMAZING AMY!!!! Hope she finds happiness!

  15. Relli says:

I havent watched his showe but he was hilarious as Nick’s brother on New Girl!

You go Amy, get it girl!

  16. Agnes says:

I’m still mourning her and GOB. I mean, Will. Sigh. But good for Amy, she rocks.

  17. LIVEALOT says:

BURNING LOVE! <3 that web series.

  18. Banskygirl says:

He was so funny on burning love !

I think Will isn’t so nice a guy. He dated a girl i know.
A mean girl and he was a douche then.

    Amy isn’t. Exactly sweet either.

I think it’s a bit weird as it shows how she really didn’t care about will in the long run

    • Lisa says:

What isn’t sweet about Amy? She seems okay to me.

      • Banskygirl says:

To be honest I know about will more than amy. I just think ppl dint pick mean ppl unless they like that part in someone.

Plus Amy can be bitchy with her humour. Goes with the territory I guess.

Will though was a douche big time.

  19. Georgia says:

    Oh no not the douche!

  20. Sweet Dee says:

Call me cray-cray nanners, but I like him more than Will Arnett. Something about Will doesn’t sit right with me, and Kroll is both funny and a talented comedic actor. Plus, he’s incredibly intelligent, and graduated from Georgetown. He’s a catch.

Also, can I say how much I love that Amy could bag any hot dude looking for some spotlight, but she chooses men her own age who have something more to offer her. You can just tell she’d never last through one date with a pretty boy with no brain. Love her.

  21. RHONYC says:

tears for the split…they seemed like a perfect match.

Kroll Show is HILARIOUS must-see tv!!! 😉

  22. Lisa says:

Enough time? No, everyone knows you’re supposed to strap on that chastity belt and remain celibate for a year, minimum.

  23. Bizzyb says:

It’s not the time and we all deserve to have fun, but it is so rare that we think of our kids. Would it kill us to concentrate on them for awhile?

  24. MissM says:

I know Kroll well and am a huge comedy nerd, so a) he’s rumored to be gay and closeted after being out for several years in an attempt to further his career and b) Amy and Kroll have a long history having performed together for years. While I don’t doubt they were out to dinner, I hardly believe it was a date.

  25. KellyinSeattle says:

I remarried within a year. I say everyone is different so I don’t question what she does. She is just so damned talented. Go Amy!

  26. videli says:

And now I know what Amy uses for olive oil. Colavita ?! Really?!!

  27. I Choose Me says:

He’s giving me a Jeff Goldblum vibe.

    • Amy says:

Jeff Goldblum plays his father on “The League,” and it’s just about the most perfect casting ever in the history of casting.

  28. Amy says:

Love her. (I’ve grown to) love him. Good for both of them. I hope it’s true!

  29. BostonianTraveler says:

he’s way better than Will. cuter, funnier and comes from a totally $$ family – dad sold the business for hundreds of millions – you should watch him on in bed with joan rivers.. he’s a doll!
