Khloe Kardashian & Lamar’s ‘Cathy’s Kids’ cancer charity is complete scam

Here are some photos of Khloe Kardashian last Friday, wearing what looks like a child’s smock. She seems to have repurposed the smock as a minidress, but it barely covered her up. So when there was a light breeze, the dress blew up and the paparazzi got photos of her Spanx. This is the Kardashian Circle of Life. This is in the Kardashian Handbook. Also in the handbook? Oh, just the typical financial shenanigans that will probably warrant an IRS audit. Apparently, Khloe and her husband have some kind of charity called “Cathy’s Kids” and they’ve been raising money for the charity for “cancer research” or something like that. Except the charity barely does anything. It’s like a shell company that does nothing of value. Ugh.

Lamar Odom and his wife, Khloe Kardashian, are being accused of the lowest-of-lows: running a questionable cancer charity called Cathy’s Kids, yet not giving ONE DIME to help children in need, according to a new report – and furthermore, when the LA Clippers star was asked about the shocking allegations, he reportedly said, “It’s my money.”

ESPN conducted its “Outside The Lines” investigation of more than a hundred charities attached to top athletes, including Odom. It uncovered 115 of these high-profile charities were not passing out raised profits effectively or properly, with more than 74 percent not operating under standards upheld by the Better Business Bureau and the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy.

According to ESPN, in the case of Odom, 33, eight years of tax records revealed that his charity, Cathy’s Kids – named in honor his late mother who died of stomach cancer – has not given any money to cancer-related causes since its creation in 2004, despite raising an estimated a whopping $2.2 million.

In addition, the investigation says it found the charity primarily existed to finance two elite youth basketball travel teams. Of the $2.2 million raised by the charity, ESPN reports that at least 60 percent — $1.3 million — went to those AAU teams.

Shockingly, the charity paid only one executive — Jerry DeGregorio, Odom’s high school coach and best man in his wedding to Kardashian, says the report. DeGregorio — now an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors — was secretary of Cathy’s Kids from 2004 through 2011, for which he was paid a median annual salary of about $72,000, while the charity operated at a loss since its creation.

ESPN reports that its 2011 tax returns show Cathy’s Kids is $256,000 in debt, mostly due to a loan Odom made to the charity, according to his business manager Lester Knispel, who is also the charity’s treasurer.

When approached in a locker room by “Outside the Lines,” Odom responded to the charity’s spending habits by saying, “It’s my money.”

Khloe has been involved in raising funds for the controversial charity as well. Khloe and Lamar set up an eBay account together, selling items from their “personal collection” to benefit the charity, according to their own description.

ESPN notes in its story that if a charity spends money — including paying someone a salary as in the case of DeGregorio — on activities not consistent with its stated mission, that could be a violation of tax law that could draw the ire of the IRS or a state attorney general’s office. If fraud was found, prosecutors could file charges.

In 2010, Kardashian, 28, blogged about her and Odom’s passion for the cancer charity on her official website, which, ESPN notes, the couple has also used to promote multiple eBay auctions of the reality star’s clothes to also raise money for the charity.

“Every time I see him working with Cathy Kids. “I fall more and more in love with him,” Kardashian wrote. “He’s made me a better person and has taught me that anyone can make a difference if you have the desire and passion to do so,” she said.

Neither Odom or Kardashian have yet to publicly comment on the ESPN investigation.

[From Radar]

What I would like to know is how many outside people donated money to Cathy’s Kids, or whether the overwhelming bulk of that $2.2 million figure came from Lamar and Khloe. My guess is that the bulk of the money did come from Khloe and Lamar, but that some outside people did donate money, and if that’s the case, I hope they get reimbursed. As for the fact that this charity doesn’t do anything besides give a fancy paycheck to Lamar’s old coach and finance some traveling for some teams… well, that sounds like the Kardashian way, doesn’t it? Ugh. Anyway, last night Lamar’s reps issued an oddly worded statement:

“It is unfortunate that Lamar Odom has been the target of an attack on athletes’ charities, although he has personally contributed approximately $2.2 million to his foundation. The millions of dollars personally contributed by Lamar constituted more than 90% of the money raised by the foundation. All of the funds donated by Lamar and the other contributions to Cathy’s Kids were used for one of the foundation’s intended charitable purposes. Not one penny went to help Lamar personally or any member of his family.”

[From the NYDN]

Well, that answers my question about how much of the money was Lamar’s to begin with – 90% of $2.2 million, or about $1.98 million. That leaves $200,000-plus funds which were raised by people donating to the charity or buying crap from Khloe and Lamar’s eBay page. I’m including an image of Khloe and Lamar’s “eBay store” page where they brag about all of the good work Cathy’s Kids does below. And from what I can see… Lamar’s reps are trying to deny an accusation that wasn’t even leveled at them – ESPN didn’t say Lamar was blowing the money on himself, ESPN said the money wasn’t being used for its intended purpose. Whatever, this is such an awful story. Khloe and Lamar should know better.

The second last picture! Oh dear…

    • BB says:

This is typical of celebrities that have charities! It is basically a tax write off. ESPN investigation included more athletes, not just Lamar Odom.

      • marie says:

so exactly what are you saying? because it’s typical, then it makes it right? I don’t think so. it’s disgusting, no matter how many people do it.

    • PinkG says:

      She’s intentionally nasty.

    • kevin says:

      That photo is EMBARRASSING!

And her outfit is a nightmare. Nothing matches.

  2. Jules says:

Typical disgusting behavior from the Krapdashian Klan. Is anyone shocked?

    • gogoGorilla says:

I know, right? I try not to comment on Kartrashian threads to discourage them from being published, but, man. What a bunch of douchebags. I hope the IRS runs them into the ground (no, I don’t think it will happen because the government doesn’t seem to go after big public names, but it would certainly make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside).

  3. logan says:

If this story pans out to be true, here’s hoping this is the downfall of the Kards. I can just see Mama Kris running around in circles, screaming how do we spin this, how do we spin this? Give Lohan a call Kris, I am sure she can give you some great legal advice.

    • BB says:

@Logan – The downfall? No, this will not be the downfall of them. Who said this was illegal? If Khloe & Lamar were trying to milk people, I’m sure they would have a better scam in place.

      • logan says:

        Say what?????
If and I said IF it is true, I guess they have a better way of sleeping at night than I do.

      • Bridget says:

It’s DEFINITELY illegal. They’re committing tax fraud, which is a pretty big deal.

  4. brin says:

“It’s like a shell company that does nothing of value”…perfect description of the Kardashians.

    • colt13 says:

Wow. This is worse than Sammy Sosa’s charity.

      • MollyB says:

I think this is probably true for many celeb charities, whether they intend to be fraudulent or not. I have much more respect for celebs who put their name and face power to support an established charity rather than starting a vanity one of their own.

  5. AmandaPanda says:

I was sort of thinking that dress was a cute cover up for the beach…and then I saw the last pic w/ the hooker heels. Who styles these women?!

As for the charity thing, is anyone really surprised? Revolting.

    • gg says:

      Those shoes look particularly painful.

Lamar seems dumb as a rock to me. And if that quote from him is accurate and not taken out of context, it would prove as much.

  6. Joanna says:

dang, Khloe’s got some great legs!

  7. VGS says:

    That outfit…no words…

  8. Nikki says:

Honestly, I’m not sure of the legality of it, in the sense that what they’re doing may not be actually illegal. Reprehensible, yes, but not illegal.

There are LOTS of ways for the wealthy to move money around (legally) to avoid paying taxes. Charitable trusts, LLCs, etc. This might be one of them.

    • Dawn says:

I think that the IRS will more than likely disagree with you. There is nothing honorable about using “cancer” to scam money from the public and using the funds for two “elite” bask-ball teams is NOT an excuse. These people were just not “moving” money around they were “using” the money for themselves. No one should ever be giving A-moral people the benefit of the doubt. And anyone involved with the Klan are A-moral to the max.

    • springingforward says:

      Of course it is illegal.
A charitable organization does not pay taxes on the monies donated provided they are used to fund the charity’s mission statement of goodwill.
Odom used it for a tax write off and then funneled the money to a couple of elite AAU kid teams.
      It is immoral AND illegal.

      • EmmaStoneWannabe says:

+1 It is not just looked down upon, it is absolutely illegal. The IRS will be on this ASAP.

      • Tiffany :) says:

But you do not know how the “elite” teams were set up, etc. If there are children whose family members had cancer, had illness themselves, came from poverty, played exhibition games for kids in poverty/with cancer, etc…they could fall under the scope of the charity.

Yes, it looks like they did horrible things. The legal/illegal argument is a very finely worded matter that would require analysis of their mission statements and the back up paperwork regarding the money spent.

      • Nikki says:

        I’m not condoning it.

If they gave money to AAU teams, then the charity has fulfilled its purpose, legally. They probably just did the bare minimum to avoid fraud and used it primarily to launder money to avoid paying taxes.

    • hazeldazel says:

It’s totally illegal – it’s a tax free player farm where he gets his friends paid and they all get a piece of the action if the kid eventually goes pro.

Interestingly, Khloe and Lamar have suddenly closed down their eBay shop since this story broke, but oh sure they’re totes innocent…

      Can’t wait for the audit.

    • Tiffany :) says:

What Nikki is saying is factually true. There ARE a lot of ways that wealthy people can move their money around to their tax benefit, and it isn’t limited to celebrities.

What they are accused of is awful, but it might not be illegal, depending on which side of the very thin line their actions fall on. Charitable Orgs usually have someone doing their tax/legal work for them, so they can go right up to the line without going over it.

  9. Launicaangelina says:

That’s so sad. I really angers me because I’m the Program Development Director at my nonprofit. My job is to fundraise and grant write. Although our cause (addiction treatment) is a tough one to raise money for, it’s made even worse by the fraudulent acts of others. When another nonprofits or charities do not follow through with properly using the fund they raise, it hurts other, legitimate organizations.

    • Meredith says:

It’s unfortunate that real charities have to try to do their work on the shadow of scammers like this. I think the only thing you can do is be willing to open your accounting books to everyone who wants to see them. Show people you are the real timing. Good luck with your non-profit.

      • Launicaangelina says:

Yes, transparency is extremely important for a nonprofit and something we regularly practice. We also have annual financial audits and publish an annual report. Thankfully, we are well respected for our work.

  10. Naye in VA says:

Khloe has the build of a naturally slim girl. You can see it in her legs and arms. I think that is why with the little bit of weight that she has, it makes her look much bigger than she is, because it shows more in her face. She has a great shape.

Anyway, even if it’s Lamar’s money it’s still a total tax write off. I guess they helped maybe 25 people, but it’s still pretty scummy when it’s supposed to be for cancer.

    • LAK says:

She is not naturally slim. A naturally slim person rarely has weight struggles of the kind Khloe has ie she’s fatter more often than she is slim. Naturally slim people are rarely fat. Look at Brandi Glanville…..there is a naturally slim person.

    • PinkG says:

      It’s called liposuction.

  11. janie says:

Can u get any lower? This is disgusting & oh so K-trash! My guess is Kris somehow has her hands in this? This is the lowest thing anyone could do. This us reprehensible & i hope he’s prosecuted, & Khloe right along with him!

  12. smartyparty says:

I loooove what she is wearing. Love it. It needs a few more inches on the hem but combined with those shoes and the hairdo, WOW. I am not sure how to feel about the fact that a Kardashian is giving me summer wardrobe inspiration!?!

As far as the charity thing – I do not expect better from Kim, Kris, even Kourtney. But I did expect better from Khloe. Disappointing to say the least.

  13. French Reader says:

The comments on her fb post about it really show the intelligence level of her fans. Save for two or three, they all basically say “omg you’re awesome nevermind the haterzzz!”. This whole story doesn’t come from haters. It comes from an investigative journalist who went through years of tax records and others official papers to get this information, and didn’t only target Odom but investigated dozens of other athletes’ “charities”. Basically her fans sound like complete idiots.
And have you seen the video on ESPN? He doesn’t sound that bright either when he tells the reporter “that’s my money” like she’s the stupid one. Doesn’t matter if you donated all the money yourself, once it’s in a charity you can’t just do whatever you want with it. I honestly wonder why his PR people even let him sit down for that filmed interview because he really doesn’t come out better because of it.

    • Relli says:

I know some actual Kartrashian fans IRL and your description soinds accurate! And yes, Lamar does not seem like the sharpest crayon in the box.

    • Cece says:

The Kardashians are always accusing people of being haters and bullies. This is their excuse for every single thing that they do wrong. Note that they never can actually defend their actions — only try to deflect.

  14. Mrs. Darcy says:

A shambles yes, but who in their right mind would trust these people to make their charitable donations? I’m not remotely defending them, but I was completely shocked at the actual percentage of money that goes towards a cause in many big name charities , there was an article in a U.K. paper a couple of months ago, and some of the figures were pretty shocking, a lot of the big name charities spend more on fundraising/promotion than actual charity/research.It’s not uncommon, I guess you just have to hope that your donations will eventually do some good but I did find it depressing for the cancer charities in particular. I think you are better off donating to smaller charities sometimes if you want to make a difference. That said for the small size of this Kardashian scam the figures are pretty pathetic.

  15. SydneySpy says:

What? Not *Kathy’s Kids*? It’s gotta be suss.

  16. lucy2 says:

I’ve been following this for a few days, there was no response at first, and then everything got taken down and they issued the “target” statement.
Yes, he WAS targeted (along with 100+ others) because he was running a false charity! If he wasn’t, he wouldn’t have been looked into.
They clearly advertise it as having something to do with cancer. If they wanted to support youth sports, just say so.
If he claimed it as a charitable donation tax deduction, it’s no longer “his money”, plus they obviously got money from elsewhere, so that wasn’t his money either.
The whole thing is so gross. If you want to have a foundation to help, that’s awesome – but be honest who and what it’s helping, and actually do what you promise.

  17. crtb says:

I am more than a little disturbed by how many posters responded to this story by saying, “What they did is not illegal.” Doesn’t matter if it isn’t illegal, it is immoral to take/give money intended for a cause and then not use that money in the way it was intended. That may not be illegal but it is sinful. It is called being dishonest and being a fraud.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

THIS exactly. It’s still wrong, whether technically illegal or not.

Look at Monsanto and tell me what they’re doing isn’t completely morally reprehensible. Yet, thanks to the bill Obama signed, it is completely legal.

      • G. says:

Monsanto is the devil and I wish SOMEONE would take them down. How is it a company responsible for Agent Orange and other chemical monstrosities gets to dictate what we eat?

Sorry, so off-topic, but I hate Monsanto with a passion.

      • Bridget says:

And you know how that bill was signed, right? It was snuck in as an addendum, no hearings were done, and it was a MUST SIGN budget bill. Be furious about it, but be furious at the right part.

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

I know! Sneakiest bastards ever. Crooks.

Sorry, I wasn’t trying to get political but this kind of thing makes me want to punch a wall. Glad to see that others are as angry as I am…

      • littlestar says:

@G. – I hate Monsanto too. They are doing everything they can do to kill the small family farm (the farms that produce healthy NORMAL, non-genetically modified food – not the big industrial “farms” run by corps. like Monsanto).

Also, it sounds like (to me) they were using this charity as a way to get a tax break. Could that be illegal in some way? Paying money to a charity and then using that “donated” money to pay less taxes off of their income? And then use the charities money however the want – that is morally wrong.

      • The Original Tiffany says:

Monsanto is the devil and they are a bane to the good farmers of this nation.

Some Monsanto pollen blew in and cross pollinated their crops? They will sue until the farmer is out of business.
Monsanto pushing farmers into mono-crops is also helping wipe out our bee population.

      • Tiffany :) says:

Monsanto is awful. The worst part is that they wrap their corporate greed and poison in bogus rhertoric about “helping farmers”.

They are poisoning our country inside and out (food supply, crops, animals, soil, water supply,….)

    • Tiffany :) says:

I might have missed the specific posts you are referring to, but I have seen several comments that have said, while it might not be illegal, it is wrong.

I have not seen a post that says it might not be illegal, therefore it makes it all ok.

    • Leen says:

I don’t see what’s disturbing about that. Most of the posters seem to say it’s morally wrong but it may not be illegal.. which i don’t see how it’s disturbing? It’s disturbing that it might be legal, but it’s not disturbing that someone would point that out?

The law is not always great, and there are always some morally questionable laws there.

  18. Lolly says:

Atleast they didn’t spend it on themselves. You know if it were Kim she’d have spent it on buying too tight leather clothing. Seems the money was reapropriated to fund sporting activities. Not cool but it’s their money so whatevs

    • Amelia says:

Lolly, that’s the issue. The money, once it’s placed in the charity, is NOT their money any longer. It must be spent in certain ways and must be spent in keeping with the mission of the charity. The expenses must also follow rules.

The IRS has very strict rules governing nonprofits. They don’t grant nonprofit status to any group, the rules are onerous and the penalties for breaking them severe.

No one knows if the law was broken until the details are known. On the surface things don’t appear to be right, and Lamar’s attitude and comment would support that. Time will tell.

  19. Banskygirl says:

He’s an idiot , should have set it up with multiple purposes and most likely left that moron manager to handle things .
Lamar is pretty trusting and obvi dumb when it comes to managing money.
I don’t get the feeling he is a shiester just dumb

  20. GoodCapon says:

“Cathy’s Kids were used for one of the foundation’s intended charitable purposes.” one of which is providing funds for underprivileged youth.

Sorry to nitpick but the article says they funded two elite youth teams with the money, but would you really call them underprivileged since they cater to promising bball kids? I’m sure they get lots of funding elsewhere.

It’s also wrong to call it a cancer charity since it was never said that a dime went to helping people with cancer. Tut tut.

  21. Sarcasmo says:

I’ve heard of shirt dresses, but that’s ridiculous!

And we do NOT run a “children’s cancer charity” without providing funding to children with cancer, their families, or research.

    • AfroLondongirl says:

Well If the kids come from disadvantage/poor backgrounds then Yeah they would be underprivileged kids.

  22. Cathy says:

She was the only Kuntrashian that I had even come close to liking. Well, that’s just gone down the crapper with one giant flush.

  23. Jayna says:

Well, it’s not the Kardashians. It’s Lamar’s charity, set up by him before he was even with Khloe, if I’m not mistaken. I am relieved to see most of the money was his. Still 200,000 of other people’s money thinking it was going for cancer is nothing to sneeze at. But I was thinking it was all donations. But these celebrity charities are nothing more than a tax write-off. I don’t give a dime to them as so little goes towards the cause. At least, he did disburse the money somewhere, a good chunk of it, but it had nothing to do with the name of the charity. I give my money to reputable charities that have been vetted. I am glad it is being exposed for what it is. I would like to think that Khloe wasn’t really invovled past a few things on eBay.

    • michiem says:

      hear hear!
people love to gloss over the facts. this charity was founded EIGHT years ago. Khloe has been in the picture only three. Her family (while not saints) shouldn’t be trashed on this one. He set up the charity had his friend “run” it. I wouldn’t be surprised if his clingly friend from NY was also getting paid from it.

  24. Dawn says:

No one should be at all surprised by this. I am sure the charity that Kim decided to donate to when making up for the marriage fraud was her mother’s church. This is just their way of living off tax free money. This whole klan is nothing more than grifters even the beloved Khloe. The sooner the public understands that and stops contributing to these disgusting a-moral people, the sooner we get to stop hearing about each and every one of them. They have become immensely wealthy for no reason and that sucks. They sure are talented alright at fooling people and that is where their talents end. The whole family is pure evil fame whores and nothing more.

    • Mags says:

I read Kim’s ebay auctions about only 10% go to the church/charity and the rest she pockets. I also read that she returned her wedding gifts and the whole family got Rolex watches with the money. Idk if that’s true but it wouldn’t surprise me.

  25. Victoria says:

    Yuck, over the whole family!

  26. GossipG says:

SPANDEX ALERT….they also pulled all their stuff from EBAY..EFFING with this kinds of charity should get your ass killed. DISGUSTING family..all of them.YUCK.GOD WE SHOULDN’T PAY ATTENTION TO THEM SO THEY could just quietly disappear.

  27. Zorbitor says:

Tax the churches and non-profits… I’m tired of paying for everything.

    • Dawn says:

      +1000

    • littlemissnaughty says:

At least tax the money they keep. Because this is shady but not an isolated incident. Who really believes that the big charities spend all the money on the actual cause? I hope nobody. Because the really big ones like the Gates foundation, they invest a lot of it. Only a small percentage actually goes to people in need. Some of them invest in the things that their charity is fighting, like buying Nestlé stocks and then trying to get clean water to people in 3rd world countries. It’s all such a big lie. So yes, tax the money they “invest” or spend on themselves.

    • Nina W says:

I agree. Or they should get a tax break based on the actual good they do the community. Like if they actually feed hungry people, they get the tax break.

  28. picopink says:

Shady and fraudulent – typical Kardashian behavior. That hairstyle is not doing her any favors. And that dress is way too short, it barely covers her Spanx.

  29. Dhavynia says:

And yet their show still on the air. These people are like roaches, they survive everything thrown their way. Who would be stupid enough to give to money for a charity any of them would be involved with?

    • LIVEALOT says:

LMAO!! Out of all the nasty things i’ve heard people call the k-klan, “roaches” are BY FAR the most accurate and grossest description. lol. kudos.

  30. Nicolette says:

What ass****s. No, it may not be illegal (it should be though) but it is immoral and just flat out disgusting. I think just about all of us know someone who has been affected by cancer, or some here have had it themselves. It’s not a joke. These people will do anything for the almighty dollar, which is why they make me sick to my stomach. Khloe was the only one that stood out as not being a total douche. Guess not.

  31. Bridget says:

It’s called tax fraud people. What they’re doing is most definitely illegal, and just because it’s mostly their money that’s funding the “charity” doesn’t make it less wrong. That money that he donated? You can bet that was a big tax write-off, and considering the tax rate for a seven-figure salary, I’d imagine the money saved was in the 6 figures. And using it to fund an elite travel team? Jut because it’s for youths doesn’t mean that it’s a not-for-profit. Seriously, how many elite youth sports teams do you know that are? I’m betting none. So when they fund the travel teams out of the Cathy’s Kids money, a non-profit is GIVING money to a for-profit. What they’re doing isn’t just unethical, it’s highly illegal, and I’m pretty sure we all know that you don’t want to try to rip off Uncle Sam.

  32. Joy says:

Ok so to clarify he basically created a tax free environment in which he could give his BFF a salary and fund an elite basketball team or two. And yet somehow none of it went to cancer research? They’re going to play this off by saying that the $ helped poor children to play sports. Which is not a bad thing. However you can’t just tack the word “cancer” onto to something and then do nothing that pertains to cancer. And stick his mother’s name on it? At best it’s tacky at worst it’s a misappropriation of funds.

    • idk says:

Also, since when do people who work for a non-profit agency/charity get paid so well? His ex-coach’s salary is ridiculous.

      • Amelia says:

idk…you’d be amazed. Several years ago, the chairman of the United Way was investigated. He was paid millions, flew on private jets, country club memberships…all paid for by the charity. Many big name charities pay their top dogs big bucks. The Red Cross is another one.

  33. coolio says:

If this is true… shame on them shame on them shame on them. They have more money than every teacher in the us. They should give back

  34. NerdMomma says:

Part of their statement is about helping underprivileged kids, and they are funding two kids’ sports teams. I’m not saying there’s no problem here at all, but it does seem like the money was used for one of the stated purposes.

I don’t have strong feelings about the Kardashians like some of you do, but I do hold out hope that a man who has named a charity for his deceased mother will honor her name rather than smear it.

    • Bridget says:

Elite travel teams aren’t exactly helping underprivileged kids. There might be underprivileged kids on it, but it’s a for profit entity. And think about how much they would be spending to go through almost 2 million dollars!

    • Nina W says:

Elite b-ball teams are not run in aid of underprivileged kids, they are farm teams for pro ball.

  35. Katy says:

I can’t believe how many posters think this would be legal! There are specific tax rules for organizations taking in money for charitable contributions. If they don’t follow these rules they are committing tax fraud. Plain and simple.

  36. Palermo says:

Lamar is officially a Kardashian now.

    • floridaseaturtle says:

Exactly what I was thinking, since the beginning really. Who is the namesake “Cathy”, his mom? If that is the case, and this is true…then..? Really?

  37. anon says:

whatever happened to MOMMA Kris church? Isn’t she ordained now too… Yeah right all for tax purposes. This family (cough) reeks scam.

  38. michiem says:

As an aside – I don’t get all the spanx hate. I mean, sometimes your legs rub together dangit. Sometimes your on your period and need some coverage. Sometimes a skirt and thong ain’t that appropriate (windy day, ass cheeks everywhere you sit down – el yucko!) I think spanx are a modern day slip and people need to get over it.

    • floridaseaturtle says:

I don’t see spanx hate. It is just that by definition, it is underwear. And by theory, you are supposed to consider your outfit, and your environment of the day, when you dress for the day. It is natural that people snark. Who doesn’t do a side eye when guys have the waistline of their jeans below their butt, or girls with their thong strings pulled up over their pantline, or girls getting out of cars without underwear at all. Even back in the day, people would whisper…your slip is showing… Anyway, the House of Kards basically like their clothing tight and brief, and like their spanx in an effort to reign in their curves. If it were me, I would keep the spanx, but go a little lower on the hems.

  39. PinkG says:

The general public has been “frauded”!

  40. Ag says:

Is anyone actually surprised by this? It’s the Kardashians we’re talking about here.

  41. KellyinSeattle says:

How benevolent of them to fit in a charity when they’re so busy spreading love and joy in their busy schedule.

  42. Lisa says:

The eBay page cracks me up: it’s for a charity, but all the photos are of Lamar & Khloe looking fashionable/hip/whatever. Not even a single picture of a sick kid or of someone doing something to help a sick kid (a doctor administering medicine or something). It’s like they’ve never seen an actual cancer charity’s web site. Compare it to stjude.org (a charity that’s widely endorsed by celebrities!), which is full of kids celebrating recovery, doctors talking about their work, etc.

  43. anonymoose says:

Everything Kardashian is a komplete skam.

  44. mar says:

it would be shocking to me if they actually did something ethical

  45. dahlianoir says:

The “normal” Kardashian, the “good one”… My foot.

  46. Norman says:

Why are we not surprised by this latest Kardashian confidence trick? Remember the Kardashian Kard, remember how well that went? The Kardashians are only about only one thing, the Kardashians, and so long as they have any kind of a fan base and a pool of ignorant people they will use them
    to their advantage.

  47. idk says:

I remember checking out Kim’s charity auction on E-bay once. If you read the fine print, only 10% goes to charity. Also, she was trying to sell ridiculous things that she got for FREE…like a t-shirt she got for appearing on the Bonnie Hunt show (now cancelled)…I mean wow !

  48. skuddles says:

Just one more reason to loathe the putrid Kraptrashians.

  49. Maritza says:

Apparently other professional athletes are doing the same so they won’t have to pay taxes. I hope they catch them all and make they pay, it’s not fair that the middle class are the ones that pay while the rich get it easy.

  50. TXCinderella says:

If the allegation about the charity is true, they should be ashamed. If I was a contributor to the charity and found this out, I would be pissed and demand my money back because it was not used for the intended purpose. Khloe should also be ashamed of wearing a top as a dress.

  51. TXCinderella says:

I’ve thought this same thought for years with other celebs. They donate clothing items for charity auctions that they get for free. Celebs get alot of clothes, shoes, purses and jewelry for free from designers. I don’t see how they can say they do so much for charity when in reality they do nothing but make it look like they are doing something great. It’s all a smoke screen. The majority of celebrities seem like very selfish people.

    • Tiffany :) says:

I think the same could be said about regular Americans too. Many people donate to charity to get a tax right off.

There are some celebs out there that are actually very generous and humble. Just like regular folks, they come in all stripes.

      • TG says:

I agree. How does donating to your church count as charity? People usually do it because they feel guilty and think god will strike them dead or send them to hell if they don’t and there are other churches that preach you have to give 10% or god will strike you dead or send you to hell. That isn’t charity. Why can’t I count the $15K I spent helping my brother out of a messy situation? That is charity because I didn’t get one thing out of it except a near-nervous breakdown.

    • Amelia says:

When/If Kim actually donated her wedding gifts to charity as she said she was going to do, I’m sure she took a tax deduction. And she didn’t pay for the gifts.

I don’t see anything wrong with getting a tax deduction for charitable donations, especially if it spurs people to give. But running a charity to supposedly raise funds or awareness to fight cancer and then actually fund elite youth basketball with the money is wrong.

  52. anon says:

well the angle being taken now as per TMZ is that Lamar childhood friend who was managing the charity will take the fall as mismanaging & Lamar was nieve in leaving him with control so it appears again the K”S have dodged a bullet.. UGH…

  53. Angie says:

… I like this outfit (particularly those shoes!1!) is there something wrong with me?!?!!!

j/k, there isn’t. that outfit is just cute.

  54. Suze says:

This is such a family of sweaty carneys and grifters.

  55. Jennifer12 says:

I guess there is no such thing as a good Kardashian. And since Lamar was a jerk to his kids’ mother, is this really a surprise?

  56. TG says:

I guess this is when Kris Jenner and her prized Klan finally deny that Khloe is a Khartrashian. I mean Khloe has always been a glorified servant in that family anyway so now they can tell everyone she really isn’t one of them.

  57. Cinderella says:

All in the name of his deceased mother. How thoughtful.

  58. Carolyn says:

This family just keep doing things to make it even easier to despise them. If it’s not Kim, it’s Kris, if it’s not Kris it’s Khloe etc etc. Was Robert Kardashian senior this corrupt? Oh yeah, he defended OJ Simpson.

I truly don’t think any of them are capable of doing anything decent, moral, helpful to others or be humble. I’m glad I’m not a Kardashian.

  59. EscapedConvent says:

I expect the next thing we’ll see on Khloe is just the Spanx. Why bother wearing a shirt at all?

I don’t see Spanx hate either. I think Spanx are great. It’s just that these weird sisters dress like hookers.

  60. Kim says:

This charity is obviously just a tax shelter for the Odoms. Charities need to be investigated. Alot of them are valid & great but many are just tax shelters and dont do any contributing to the causes they say they do.

  61. Amelia says:

Ok, this is so wrong, but that eBay page gave me giggles…”Lamar Odom, NBA basketball legend”…

Seriously?? Legend? In his own mind, maybe. The guy is a mediocre player.

These Kartrashians are delusional. And who would buy Khloe’s used clothes, especially when she dresses like this?!
