Singer Amy Winehouse is continuing her vacation in St. Lucia with friends. Over the last couple of weeks we’ve seen more of Winehouse than most of us wanted to, but admittedly she does look healthier. Friends say she has invited friend Blake Wood to join her in St. Lucia. Blake is rumored to be a good influence on Amy – unlike another certain incarcerated Blake – who doesn’t drink or take drugs. The two spent a lot of time together after the other Blake was sent to jail, prompting speculation that they were more than friends.
AMY WINEHOUSE is addicted to hard drugs, computer game Rock Band – and now the Caribbean sunshine.
The singer has been in St Lucia for two weeks – and is staying another fortnight.
She’s even flown out “pal” BLAKE WOOD, for some, er, company.
A friend said: “The sun is doing her the world of good. She is looking after herself better and eating well.”
It’s great that Amy is looking and feeling better, but without real, long-term treatment for her addictions and emotional problems, I wonder how long it will last. Sooner or later she is going to have to go home and then the temptation to slip back into old routines will return. I have never heard of anyone successfully kicking a drug habit simply by going on a Caribbean vacation. Looking at her now, it’s easy to forget that she was dead-eyed, covered in scabs and emaciated looking just a few weeks ago. It seems like this girl will do everything BUT stay in rehab. Maybe “good Blake” can talk some sense into her.
In other Amy news, she is scheduled to appear in court in Norway to appeal possession charges stemming back to an incident last October, when she and Blake Incarcerated were busted for cannabis possession and spent the night in jail. Lawyers for Amy are appealing the fine she paid to be released from jail, which in Norway is the equivalent of a guilty plea.
AMY WINEHOUSE is to appear before a court in Norway on January 12 to appeal against a £284 fine for possessing cannabis.
She and hubby BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL spent a night in jail in Bergen while on tour last October.
They were freed after paying the fine.
But lawyers acting for Amy, 25, say the fine is like a guilty plea — with “serious consequences” if the singer wants to visit the US.
I guess the only surprising thing about that bust was that the Norwegian cops could only find pot on Amy and Blake. Maybe they’d sniffed, shot up and eaten everything else already. At any rate, it’s interesting that Amy has a team of lawyers working on this for her. I tend to think that she doesn’t really have anyone looking out for her, but maybe that’s not the case. Maybe she does have folks giving her advice – she just chooses to ignore it.

I think it’s bloating, what with all the poison and junk-food she insists on putting in her system.
You know, I know it is bad karma to wish this on a fellow pothead, but I hope those cannabis charges result in some sort of restriction of freedom for Amy.
As much as I cringe when I hear kids are going away to prison for moving around a little pot, I think in this case some sort of supervision is clearly needed. If only just a social worker – someone to remind Amy that she needs to be held accountable for her own choices and actions.

Her belly’s always been distended in recent years. Might be malnutrition considering her diet. She does look slightly healthier now though.
She has a very boyish figure – she’s got no hips or backside to balance out what’s going on with abdomen so it looks worse than what it really is.

She looks old and used up. She’ll never have that sexy raspy cuteness again. But she’ll also never go away. Does it make me seem old if I compare her to Liza Minelli? I’ve watched her do the same slow slide over years and years. Hell, and her mother, too, for that matter. Guess I am old…
she’s terribly thin and her stomach muscles aren’t in shape… i think thats what makes us think its distended. in person we’d be amazed at how tiny she is. i think it looks poochy and tight because she has so little body fat.
Sky is blue, and the water is wet. Amy Winehouse is an addict in denial. MSat makes an excellent point, she goes everywhere but rehab. When she attends ‘hospital’, she only spends about a couple of weeks. Too many issues for such a short time! Even know, she was shown in more recent pics at “Gossip Girl”, drinking a beer.
It isn’t special effects or science fiction, Winehouse’s stomach IS distended due to a combination of poor diet and alcoholism. This lady has been drinking since her teens!
Eating so much sugar will make you gain weight, but all in the wrong spots, like your organs and belly.
