Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy in black pantsuits: super cute?

Remember when I was asking for random hair advice last week? (I’m getting a little desperate since I don’t trust my hairdresser anymore, my hair is dry and I need to make a change.) Well I took your advice and did not mess with henna at all. Thank you for that! I went with a semi-permanent color, L’oreal Healthy Look dark blonde (not a plug, I picked it out myself), which turned my red-blonde hair mousy brown. (Some people have said it looks dirty blonde.) At first I didn’t like it but it wasn’t tragic or anything and it also made my hair much healthier and shinier, so it’s growing on me. Plus it’s washing out gradually. I’ll use it again but just go with a lighter color next time.

All of that is preface to these photos of Sandra Bullock at CinemaCon, where she’s promoting her comedy The Heat, with Melissa McCarthy. Sandra’s hair is so freaking gorgeous I want it exactly, even though I know her shade of brown won’t go with my coloring. I’m taking this photo to whichever hairstylist I bet on and asking for this cut. This is how you do straight ironing with a center part. In terms of what she was wearing – I like it! I also like that she sort-of coordinated her look with Melissa McCarthy. Do you get the impression that they called each other up and decided to both wear all black outfits with black pants? I do. Melissa looks great too. I love her sneakers! I want a pair like that.

Also there was Kristen Wiig. This movie is by the director of Bridesmaids, and I’m guessing Wiig was there for support since she’s not listed on IMDB for this film. She wore this really unfortunate, busy, floral print dress. Kaiser, Bedhead and I had an e-mail exchange wondering if she was pregnant and hiding something or that’s just a terrible dress. I voted terrible dress.

In The Heat, Bullock and McCarthy play two mismatched cops who have to team up on a case. The trailer makes it look hilarious! I’m including it below, and it made me laugh out loud multiple times. Warning that is the the RedBand trailer and contains a lot of F-Bombs. (Thanks to Lainey for linking it) This movie isn’t out until late June though, damnit. I would love to see it now.

Melissa looks really great here 🙂

She even pulls off the high heeled sneakers.

    Kristin Wiig in Madea’s dress

I wanna get drunk with these ladies!
    It’s been a looooong week.

  4. Laura says:

Different strokes I guess, because I think her hair looks terrible. Sure it’s shiny, but the middle part looks so dated, and I can’t remember the last time she wore her hair any other way. Plus holy botox, batman!

The trailer really does nothing for me, but then I kinda hated Bridesmaids, so I’m obviously not the target audience.

  5. Val says:

I’ve seen those sneakers at Target. That style, I mean.

  6. MJ says:

Kristen Wiig resembles a pre-retirement Mrs. Roper in that dress!

Oh, how I love me some Sandy Bulock….

In regards to the dry hair issue. My hair got out of control damaged for a while. I started using L’Oreal Total Repair 5 shampoo and conditioner with the balm once a week and it has not only repaired my hair but it has stayed healthy ever since. I bought the stuff in Target. (not a plug, just use it and love it)

I will try it, thank you! I got some Paul Mitchell stuff and will probably put some on this afternoon with saran wrap and then sit in front of the TV news.

      • Joy says:

Girl go to Sally’s get you some cholesterol and apply liberally. Saran Wrap and sit back. Also, home hair color is notoriously bad for your hair. My hair is naturally curly and crunchy dry and I use Paul Mitchell PM Shines to color my grays. It’s demi permanent so it’s a little less harsh.

Try ‘garnier olia’ it made my dry hair really soft and shiny, love it! 🙂 (I don’t work for them I promise haha)

The only thing that really saved my dry hair is the Argan Oil by Lee Stafford. I tried few moroccan oils that are on the market but this one is to die for. It absorbs fast and leaves your hair silky. just use it on the ends. I m just not sure if you can get it in USA, I used to buy it when living in Australia, now ever since I moved back to Europe last October I didnt see any Lee Stafford hair products in shops. le sigh. But IT IS THE BEST. p.s. i tried the 1 minute hair mask from garnier and it actually smoothed and nourished the hair too and then I used the oil. It worked wonders 🙂

I think my McCarthy burnout is currently stronger than my Bullock love…hmmm.

    RE: Hair

I have dry, wavy, thin hair. I have tried everything to cut down the frizz, tame the curls and make it shiny and healthy like when I was teen.
One night I was sucked into the WEN commercial and I ordered. I had buyers remorse…UNTIL it arrived and I tried it. I will never go back to regular products again. It’s sorta pricey, but worth it.

I get compliments on my hair almost everyday. Dead serious.

(i in no way work for or am reimbursed for this, i truly love the product and feel your hair pain.)

    • Maggie says:

Have you been using it for awhile? I heard that WEN can build up on your hair and make it greasy?

      • annabelle says:

I have been. Not quite a year now.

If I start to feel a little less in love, or if I notice my day 2 hair is a little too greasy, I’ll wash with something else for a stay at home day and not put any finishing products in. Next WEN wash I’m back to fabulous.

Sandra looks great! They both do!!! WANT TO SEE THIS FILM!

  12. Jess says:

Still can’t believe Sandy was married to that unattractive douche.

  13. Dee Cee says:

Sandra.. she soooo not there anymore.

  14. Flora says:

My hair is dry as straw after I wash it. This is mainly due to hard water in the UK and chemical hair relaxers. I use BioSilk Therapy before I iron my hair straight. It makes my hair soft and shiny and it smells nice too. I get it on Ebay. It’s a lot cheaper there than in the salons.

I’m so gonna watch this film. I love Sandra and Melissa is becoming a favourite of mine too.

  15. Sassy says:

LOVE them both! Can’t wait to see this movie!

  16. lucy2 says:

Oooh, good hair product suggestions! I switched to Living Proof shampoo, and my hair feels really nice, but it is expensive. I will have to try out some of these other ideas.

Sandra and Melissa both look great, I’m looking forward to their movie, even if it’s stupid funny.

I don’t get Kristen Wiig. She’s very pretty, has a figure well suited to high fashion, and that’s how she chooses to dress for the red carpet. If she loves it, whatever then, great, but a good stylist could really make her look awesome on the red carpet.

  17. F5 says:

    super annoying

  18. lisa2 says:

I think Melissa always looks better when her hair is not so big. And I thought she had always been heavy.. well this size until I saw her on an episode of Curb you Enthusiasm.

I like both women, but this film doesn’t look funny to me. So I’ll check it out on dvd.

  19. elllalt says:

If Kristen’s dress was meant to cover up a pregnancy, mission accomplished!

  20. Mrs. Ari Gold says:

We gotta see this opening weeked ladies! That’s the way Hollywood will get the message that there is a viable audinece for women-centered-movies! It looks great. – I can’t wait.
