I was wondering if anyone besides Kristen Stewart would wear Stella McCartney, and here we go. I should have figured that Cameron Diaz would go with Stella – that whole group of girls (Camy, Goop, Kate Hudson) are all tight with Stella. So what did Stella make Cameron wear? A giant, figure-covering blue… thing. I don’t even want to call this a dress. It’s awful. Like the pope’s vestments with a built-in cape…? She looks like Monk Smurf. And that spiked belt? That’s Cameron’s version of a chastity belt. You can’t hug her. At all. I wonder if she poked anyone last night? I wonder if she drew blood?
Diane Kruger wore Chanel. Not punk. But not bad. I mean, she’s beautiful and she makes everything look good. She and Joshua seemed subdued on the carpet though, and there are hardly any photos of them.
Kate Bosworth in Balmain. This makes me sad. It’s like she didn’t even try. Again, this would have been cute at a movie premiere, but it’s not “big” enough for the Met Gala.
Marion Cotillard wore Dior (like Jennifer Lawrence). Marion looks really pissed off about it too. She should be – this dress is so boring and it’s just… blah. Nothing.

I still believe that if Stella wasn’t Paul Mc Cartney’s daughter she would have not in a gazillion years been able to become a fashion designer. As a friend, I simply do not understand how you put your friend in this ensemble. My girlfriends would never let me out dressed in a sad blue sack like this, let alone design this crap for me. It makes me wonder: 1.) Friendship with a designer can be a liability 2.) Does Stella purposely try to mute her girlfriends beauty? (With friends like that, who needs enemies?)

Westwood’s last collection was amazing too, so no excuses. There’s never anything punk about CK, Valentino, McCartney, Chanel and many other brands that were worn. People should’ve avoided certain brands entirely. I know it’s hard to get your hands on vintage McQueen, but COME ON. I think Christina Ricci was the only person who wore Westwood at all. No vintage Galliano? In fact, no vintage anything? Wouldn’t you think more people would hit Pat Fields shop or make Betsey Johnson their muse for the night?

I think Marion Cotillard’s dress could be much improved by making the top part black and the flowy part maybe dark grey. Keep the pop of yellow, the shoes and the hair – those are all great. The color adjustment would bring this into theme and look much better with her coloring. Oh, and of course, add a bracelet.

I just saw Diane Kruger in “Farewell My Queen” and she was wonderful so she can wear anything she wants and I will still love her, and Joshua by association. She was amazing and beautiful and sad in that movie and spoke perfect French.

If it were black, it would look like the Grim Reaper’s outfit. The color , though, shows off Cameron’s beautiful blue eyes.

I actually think the sheer “overdress” part of Diane’s outfit along with the bag, accessories and make up are pretty good for the theme. After all, it’s about how punk has influenced high fashion and the spikes are a big part of that and that sheer overdress bit is kind of reminiscent of a shroud, so nice death themes there. A very ladylike version of punk influences! She looks tired though – she usually seems to relish her fashion choices. I expected more of her for this theme but this gets a pass from me.
Kate… eh. We needed a different Cate. Cate Blanchett! Now she would have ROCKED it! Cate and Tilda Swinton both.
