More photos from last night’s Cannes Film Festival amfAR gala! I love that Liberty Ross came to this event. I love that not even a week has passed since Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s breakup was confirmed, and here is Liberty at a major fashion event, looking fabulous. Sort of. She’s wearing Balmain, and I’m sure we’ve seen versions of this look on other women. I dislike how exhibitionistic Liberty is with her body – remember her Oscar party look? Well, this isn’t AS revealing, although I bet Liberty flashed her beav to a lot of amfAR-goers.
Goldie Hawn in Halston Heritage. God, I love her. Goldie is 67! And she’s still a ray of sunshine.
Rosario Dawson in Vionnet. Does this dress have GIGANTIC shoulder-pads? OMG. It might have been interesting/attractive without the shoulder pads.
Irina Shayk in Elie Saab. There’s been a lot of hot pink at Cannes this year, right? It’s hot right now. I like this dress, even if it’s “boring” in only the way Elie Saab dresses can be boring. But I feel like Elie Saab gets a bad rep too often – this is a beautifully tailored, well-made gown that stands out, and it’s minimalism makes it striking and interesting.
Zhang Ziyi in Giambattista Valli Spring 2013 Couture. I would have hated this on Jessica Biel (she wears a lot of Valli), but I’m not hating it on Zhang. It’s a mullet dress though. Ugh.
Olivia Palermo in Roberto Cavalli. I’m surprised Olivia went “trashy” with an animal print and cut-outs. This seems out of character for her.
Audrey Tautou in Lanvin. I’m shocked she’s not wearing Chanel! This Lanvin is cute though. I guess she’s the kind of woman who can pull off a mini-dress when everyone else is wearing gowns. Also: I like her short hair!
Paris Hilton… I don’t know. Could be Cavalli or Marchesa. FEATHERS. Wonk eye! Her boyfriend looks about 16 years old too.

I like Liberty’s skirt, but not the top. It looks like a robot costume. Goldie looks great–that dress would give a Big Bird vibe on anyone but her. Audrey is so skinny!! And Paris…. haha.
Liberty Ross is and always has been trashy as hell. I know she’s the wronged party and all, but did anyone really think a woman who married a guy like Rupert Sanders was going to be classy and dignified?
Rosario looks ridiculous, Irina looks good (huge improvement), Audrey Tautou is perfect and Paris is becoming her mother.
Paris is absolutely becoming her mother! I know we all do eventually but isn’t she 20 years ahead of schedule? She looks like she had something done with her face – surgery? fillers? botox? Weird. She’s not even 30 years old yet. Why mess with your face like that? I don’t know why she doesn’t just make an appropriate business arrangement, I mean marriage, and go become a society matron. It’s your fate, honey, accept it.
That jacket(?) looks like something a Star Trek extra would wear. I like the color. I just don’t like the weird plasticky puffiness.
I like the bold yellow color of Goldie’s dress (love her), but I don’t like the Princess Leia slave girl type bodice.
Couldn’t agree more about the weird front of Goldie’s dress. She’s always had kind of a strange chest imo, and this accentuates it.
Is it me, or does Liberty kinda look like she had been crying and fixed her makeup too quickly?
I watched season 5 of Realhousewives of Atlanta reunion and Kenya I believe wore the same dress and color. It does have a weird top part which is how I recognized it.

I don’t like Liberty’s look at all. Hair is a mess. Bottom of dress looks like a diaper. Shoes are boring. Love Irina’s look. That Elie Saab dress is stunning. Why oh why is Paris around again. She’s like a fungus that keeps coming back.
I wish she would keep her legs together. The gap makes it look trashy and awkward.

Liberty’s is hardly the worst look in the world but there is something very “off” about those clothes on her body. Rosario Dawson looks the best here for me – and lol, I didn’t even know Paris was still around.

It’s the same style of dress Zoe Saldana wore to one of the STiD events and it seemed to be a hit (maybe not on this site, though). I definitely didn’t see any comments referring to it as trashy. I’m on the fence. It’s interesting and eye-catching (especially the colors in the version Zoe wore), but I’m not sure if I actually like it.

For Zoe’s look, I wasn’t all that fond of the color combo. For Liberty’s look, I feel like it would be better if the skirt’s upper folds were flattened a bit (based on her body shape). But, I am shocked to say I love her top. It is futuristic and funky but, I love the fit. Liberty’s body is sick… those legs!

I think the main thing I didn’t like about Zoe’s (and Liberty’s) dress is how the draping of the skirt causes that slit/opening right in between the legs. If it’d been off center, I probably would have liked it more on both of them.
I will say the design seemed to be perfect for a Star Trek event. The shape/style of the bodice looks kind of like a uniform. I think that’s why I liked it more on Zoe; just felt more appropriate.
I love Zhang Ziyi’s look, and Audrey Tatou’s as well.
Oh Paris. She’s always had a knack for making spendy clothes and accessories look dead cheap. Her magic continues here.

Maybe I’m just in a pissy pre-coffee mood this morning, but not one of these pieces is working for me. Love Oliva, Liberty, and especially Audrey but … yikes. It’s all bad.
Love Audrey’s hair and dress – just wish she had worn different shoes. And Goldie looks freakin’ awesome! Rosario is the hottest woman in Hollywood these days but I’m not crazy about that dress. Liberty’s top is great but yes, the skirt is a little too short. But she’s a model so she’s probably used to runway looks, which are usually a bit more extreme/dramatic.
IDK, Liberty Ross looks bad there. Her hair isn’t good up and I find that dress super ugly. Thick material on the top with an unflattering neckline and weirdly draped cooch curtain skirt in a rubbery fabric. Weird.
I almost liked the dress Goldie H is wearing except there’s something about the neckline that looks klunky.
The pink gown is nice but the rest are ugly to me.

Compared to the rest of the women pictured here, L. Ross is the epitome of bad taste and amateur styling. For someone with access to fat funds, she consistenty looks cheap and messy.
This women is my “celebrity trigger” and the sight of her just trips my trash and burn switch to “on.”

Honestly the first thing I thought was that she was trying to look like Kristen Stewart. This is exactly the way she would dress…exactly! I agree though that standing like that with her legs spread isn’t the best with that skirt…seems she’s advertising.
Eh, NGL, if I had Liberty Ross’s body, I’d wear the same thing too. I like the fact that she’s not afraid to get it wrong. I love the top but the skirt’s a bit weird.

Honestly, the top of Liberty’s dress looks like she’s an extra from Tron. And the bottom looks like she realized she forgot to bring a skirt, so she wrapped a hefty trash bag around her waist a couple of times.
She’s got a great body, but unfortunately she’s lacking in taste.
Liberty’s makeup is awful – the dark liner at the edges and the nude lipstick do nothing for her. It makes her nostrils look like two giant caves.
Rosario’s dress is a no-go b/c of the shoulder pads and the huge thick belt. Too bad, b/c she’s gorgeous! I like Irina’s look, hate mullet dress on anyone (Zhang Ziyi), and like Audrey Tatou’s look except for the shoes. They’re way too clunky for the outfit and for her frame.

It took me a moment to figure out why LR looks so off. Its a combination of things:
She’s wearing a dress that several other women have worn before her, to high profile events, which means that she didn’t have access to newer piecea. Plus, it does not fit her – it’s baggy and off center, and clearly a size too big. She’s basically just thrown on a dress, and considering that AmFar is a huge event, if she had access to anything better you bet she would have worn it. Further, look at her hair and makeup: she clearly did it herself (and for a former model she did a terrible job). I’m guessing that the whole thing with Jimmy Iovine isn’t going well and that she’s networking in Cannes.
I think she and Iovine are done. She was papped recently in a car with another dude, who was all over her.
The other “dude” is her friend Simon. He’s the fashion editor with Elle US and he’s gay.

I really like Liberty, especially think highly of her for the way she so gracefully handled the scandal situation. She’s used to showing her body during her lingerie fashion shoots, which are very sexy but tastefully photographed. However, although her legs are nice, the open leg stance seems off to me and inappropriate for this event.
I don’t like any of these looks.
