Kris Jenner responds to Pres. Obama’s shade, claims he’s ‘picking on’ Kimye

Ugh, let’s do this. Have you watched Kris Jenner’s talk show? I haven’t. I’ve only seen about three clips, and they were the same three stunt-queen clips that everybody saw because Kris Jenner is a stunt queen and she’ll do anything to get her ratings up and stay on the air, even if it’s hijacking a baby and pretending that it’s North Kardashian. So, Kris Jenner’s latest move is to try to publicly slam Pres. Obama for some rather innocuous statements he made about the American Dream, materialism and the middle class. Here’s what he said:

David Blum: Part of the American dream — even if you’re poor, or lower-middle class — involves yearning for tangible things you can’t afford. Were there things, when you were growing up, that you yearned for that you couldn’t afford?

Obama: “I don’t think people went around saying to themselves, ‘I need to have a 10,000-square-foot house.’ I think there has also been a shift in culture… There was not that window into the lifestyles of the rich and famous… Kids weren’t monitoring every day what Kim Kardashian was wearing, or where Kanye West was going on vacation, and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success.”

[From The Business Insider]

Obama could have name-checked any conspicuous-consuming celebrity and it still would have had the same point: the American dream should not be confused with the aspirational wealth and materialism of celebrities. The American dream used to be “work hard, get an education, get a good job and raise your healthy children.” His argument is about the shrinking middle class, the fragmented safety net and yes, about the culture of celebrity and celebutainment. But that nuance was lost on Kris Jenner. She went on her talk show and said this:

“I wasn’t aware that you could only set the bar so high and that you could only dream so big. I was taught dream big, work hard and you could have whatever you wanted. I bet the President has some friends with 10,000 square foot houses and that he wouldn’t mind going over there… when [he was] asking them to have a party for [him] while [he was] campaigning for dollars to run for president. I find it so odd that he’s picking on Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Well, Kanye West, first of all, doesn’t go on vacation ever… and Kim Kardashian is the hardest working young lady in the world. She never sleeps, she never stops, she never slows down and works so hard for what she’s got. Her job affords her to live in a 10,000 square foot house and I think, if I’m not mistaken, that Mr. President’s job affords him to live in a 55,000 square foot house.”

[Transcribed by Michael K at Dlisted]

If she had simply made the argument that all of us can dream big and that there are no bounds for what you can achieve… I might have been with her. Truly. But then she turns it into a shill for how Kim is the “hardest working young lady in the world.” Bitch, you lie. Most people DO aspire to great wealth and a nice home, but let’s not pretend that it’s somehow good for our country or our culture when little girls say “I want to make a p0rn and have my mom sell it so I can be famous and live in a big house.”

Oh, do shut up Kris Jenner.

    • BB says:

President Obama gave them more publicity, that’s what he gets for name dropping them in an interview.

      • scylla says:

Obama is the biggest scam that ever was. So it just seems right that he has to say something about the Kartrash-Clan.

Whatever he is saying he is doing the opposite. I was a fan and now I’m truly disappointed.

Guantanamo Bay, drone attacks (which CREATE new terrorists), Obamacare is for corporations, Arms for Syria, call Snowden a traitor even so he now SAYS (which will not happen) that they reform the NSA (which would certainly make Snowden a whistleblower)…

This man is either evil or a spineless puppet for The United Corporations of America.

Even Carter said that the USA have no longer a functioning democracy.

And don’t tell me to leave, I’m not living in the USA.

The world would be a much safer place if the USA wouldn’t meddle in the affairs of countries with lots of resources (because it is NOT about freedom!)

      • Kiddo says:

@scylla, The NSA and drone attacks would have proceeded with vigor no matter who was elected into office.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

        @BB
I agree. I loathe the Kardasians with a passion, and I see President Obama’s point, but I don’t think he should have used their names. It just gives them a platform to complain and more publicity.

      • Kiddo says:

@GoodNamesAllTaken. They complain because deep down they know what they really are.

The lady doth protest too much, methinks

      • Belle Epoch says:

Matt Damon says he and Obama have “broken up” – then outlines lhe specific reasons why. Good for him!

      • Kim says:

Exactly. He is probably on Kris payroll-haha!

      • Lindsay says:

Scylla -even if you have gone over the edge of crazy even you have to see if you swear an oath to protect America and the constitution (as Snowden did) and part of the oath is NEVER revealing information that is classified he broke an oath and did just that. He didn’t wait for the information to be declassified, he just showed the cards the NSA delt him. His actions were illegal, made him a traitor to the US, and had a lot to with fame whoring – not whistle blowing.

      • Inconceivable! says:

Kim K and Kanye campaigned for Barack Obama. I wonder if they are breaking up with Obama too?

      • Dirty Martini says:

Not an Obama fan, but one of the few times I’ve agreed with him is when he called Kanye an @$$.

He could have made his point without naming names and shaming others.

He went there first …..so yeah, I think they have a right to respond. And by they — I mean Kim and Kanye.

        Not Kris.

    • Mia 4S says:

I make it an absolute rule not to click on posts involving these parasites but I am breaking it to share my sudden revelation: When you were a kid at sleepovers do you remember Bloody Mary? Or Candyman? You spoke their names aloud and then the horrible monsters could and would appear? See where I’m going with this?

Shhhhh, do not speak aloud of them. If we ignore them long enough, the hidious monsters will not be able to appear.

  2. OhDear says:

Well, she had to milk it for publicity somehow.

    • Steph says:

Kaiser said it best, had her statement been rephrased, I possibly would have been on Kris J.’s side

    • MsAubra says:

Exaclty! Remember when she damn near peed her pants responding when he mentioned that his daughters did or didn’t watch their show? Now she wants to respond like she’s offended! Pimp please!

  3. Pink says:

Can we just boycott this type of post?

  4. Deb says:

Her and her clan of grifters need to STFU and just go away.

  5. Jane says:

Kris Jenner is a total idiot. Her show will crash soon and she will have to find something else to fame whore herself to get attention.

  6. Birdie says:

Just shut up, PMK! Disgusting woman.

  7. grabbyhands says:

Cashing in on a sex tape and whoring your image out to the highest bidder on a regular basis is not the same thing as working hard.

    • dorothy says:

Agree! Being a slut is not a profession.

      • blaize says:

As obnoxious as I find Kim K and think her whole family is overexposed, that doesn’t change the fact that slut-shaming is Problematic.

    • Melanie says:

I’m a feminist. I’m sick of cry babies moaning about slut-shaming. What would you like me to call it instead? For women like Kim, it is what it is.

There is a BIG difference between a woman owning her sexuality and deciding to have as many partners as she would like and Kim K. Chicks like her don’t get a free pass. She brokered her sex and then cried foul. No sweetie, it’s doesnt work that way.

      • blaize says:

Yes, I know there’s a difference. But when it comes to slurs stemming from bigotry, we can’t really pick and choose which people it is ok to use the slur against and which people it isn’t.

For example, take a homophobic slur. It wouldn’t be ok for me to say, “I don’t use it against all people of the LBGT community. I just use it against THIS PARTICULAR person because I don’t like them or something they did.”

  8. bunny says:

Am so sick of dis family, no 1 cares bout, Obama( though I dnt like him) has made history n dats wat dis family can’t n won’t do

  9. blue marie says:

you know she’s loving the free publicity.

  10. aquarius64 says:

Please. The whole world picks on “Kimye”, in fact the whole K clan. Pimp Mom wants to start a beef with POTUS to get ink and generate ratings for a failing show.

  11. Yep says:

    He didn’t lie, though.

  12. Amory says:

How is anyone surprised that she doesn’t get it?? “Work hard” typically does not mean film a pornographic movie and then sell your privacy, the privacy of those around you, and any sense of decency or moral for a the only thing that matters to them — money.

  13. Kcaia says:

I don’t get afraid for my daughter when I read stories about Kim K, I’m afraid when I read stories about girls like Rachel Shoaf and Shelia Eddy, or even worse, Gina Grant (only worse bc she literally got exactly what she wanted out of MURDER). Porn is not going anywhere, and nudity and being sexual active does not make a person cruel or evil.

    • Tapioca says:

I believe the argument is that you sell sex or sexuality when you have no other product to sell.

Since literally ANYONE with a suitably exhibitionist streak can have amateurish sex on camera, most people would rather those elevated into the public eye have an actual “talent” with which to distinguish themselves.

      • Kcaia says:

My thing with Kim is, I knew who she was before the poorn. When she went on that one date with Nick Lachey after him and Jessica split, I remembered her name bc I was struck with her beauty and star presence. I think I have a future star psychic in me, I felt the same about Angelina Jolie since I saw Gia, (didn’t know her then), Paris Hilton from her early partying pics (I am ashamed to admit), Amber Heard when no one knew who she was, (although she’s yet to prove herself), but so far I’ve been wrong about Riley Keough, who I saw when she was a 14 yr old model in articles with her mother, but hasn’t seemed to age well since. Anyways, I know now Kim alerted the papz about that date, but still, she was the closest to nobody when I first saw her, and although I don’t admire how she somehow conquered the world of fame, I do appreciate it for what it is, which is incredible in my eyes, for the Kardashians to be so famous for nothing talent-related.

    • Amory says:

It’s not just the porn – it’s the obsession on looks and the complete disregard for anything but money, fame, clothes, and plastic surgery. She sounds like an idiot, and she acts like one too — and some teens get the idea that this is some sort of American ideal. And call me old-fashioned, but not one of these people has any semblance of a positive, healthy relationship with a partner.

      • Jessica says:

I find it pretty pathetic that all people do is look at Kim Kardashian and think she is some stupid bimbo that has done nothing in her life to deserve to be rich and famous. No one realizes how hard you have to work and how stressful it is. Kim Kardashian works her ass off. She never sleeps, she never stops. She is working all the time. Barley ever takes anytime for herself and yes she shops a lot but she deserves it. She may not be the smartest person ever but she works her ass off and deserves what she has.

    • blaize says:

@Kcaia: I definitely agree with you, in terms of what we should be afraid of.

My problem with Kim K was never the sex tape, as I’m an anti-slut-shaming, anti-whorephobia person who’s pretty tolerant when it comes to matters of sexuality.

My problem with her is her personality, and the fact that she and her entire family are overexposed. I’d feel different if they had talent, but so far it doesn’t seem that they do. I’m more lenient toward Kendall and Kylie because they’re still kids and they haven’t done anything problematic or annoying yet, and because I feel that they should be given a chance to be judged based on what they do, not who their family is.

I’ve never hated Kim, her mom, or her sister and I’ll defend them when it comes to slut-shaming, body-shaming, and racism, but they’re still annoying. That’s why I almost never comment or look at Kardashian posts.

      • Dawn says:

What racism are you referring to? Armenia? Armenia is still a European country even though it is Eastern so I don’t understand this racism that you are alluding to.

      • Kcaia says:

I agree Blaize, and I never was a fan of the show bc its just not interesting to me, but the past few years I’ve felt somewhat protective of Kim, mostly bc Im so tired of hearing her put down for being in a poorn, bc whether she sold it or not or was pissed on or not, its her body and her past, and it says nothing to me of who she is inside. I do understand them being overexposed, and I agree, but hey, more power to them for gaining so much out of nothing.
As far as greed and selfishness, I admit these aren’t traits to be admired, but without them, and the need for always wanting more and better, humans would be no different than animals. Plus these are not traits that are at all exclusive to the rich. One thing I’ve learned in life is most everyone is selfish to some degree, but you can still be so and be loving and caring towards others, babies and young children are the perfect example. Not that ppl shouldn’t strive to be selfless, but we should recognize that selfishness is an instinct we were born with, and unfortunately most ppl we meet will be more like the Kardashians than Mother Theresas. Bc even poor and middle class ppl like to reward themselves with nice things they don’t need, and show them off also. I just think many ppl hate them bc, unknowingly, they dislike in others a trait they loathe in themselves, bc they were taught it was wrong. So to me, unless their greed hurts others or they break the law for it, they don’t faze me for being rich and famous, or for flaunting it.

      • energydrink says:

GOD, when did everybody start throwing this annoying slut shaming excuse.txt around???

I do agree that the phenomenon exists: Nobody is “asking” to be raped, and I hate the victim being blamed.

Are we reaching a point where we arent even allowed to call professional prostitutes(when one profits from the activity and not just in the getting celebrity/expensive gifts while pretend dating indirect kind) sluts anymore??? Being PC is one thing, but just denying facts is deluded.

Have you actually seen the tape in question? They are talking to the camera and in such a way that they knew it would be seen (by people other than themselves of course). Kim learned from her former BFF and copied her example, only did two things right which made her benefit more: she has a better build for pr0n and had an exotic pretty look then, and Ray J was more well-known that Rick Solomon…It was deliberate, got her paid, well-known and all that could gradually be white-washed.

Nothing wrong with being a pornstar/prostitute, but why deny the obvious especially when there is documented evidence???

      • blaize says:

@Dawn: By racism I mean how on other popular sites (like yahoo) people always say really nasty, racist things about the ethnicity of the guys that Kim and two of her sisters have been with. Most of the commenters are guys, but I found one female doing it. Bigots are already talking badly about the baby.

@Energy Drink: I don’t remember who coined the term slut-shaming. It’s been around for a few years. Calling a sex worker a prostitute or whatever they do is different from slut-shaming, which is problematic for multiple reasons.

      • Melanie says:

        @energydrink

“Are we reaching a point where we arent even allowed to call professional prostitutes(when one profits from the activity and not just in the getting celebrity/expensive gifts while pretend dating indirect kind) sluts anymore??? Being PC is one thing, but just denying facts is deluded.”

        I couldn’t agree more!

      • blaize says:

Saying that someone is a sex-worker or prostitute if they are one is totally different from slut-shaming. One is bigotry, the other is an unbiased statement of fact.

  14. emmie_a says:

There is conspicuous consumption and then there is GROSS conspicuous consumption, which is what Kimye is all about. And I think of the Ecclestone sisters, who might have been a better example but they’re not as famous.

  15. Virgilia Coriolanus says:

Uhhh, does PMK remember at all how their klan became famous? Oh yeah, because the favorite member of the klan got peed on in a sex tape. It doesn’t get any lower than that.

She should thank her lucky stars that the president even knows who Kim is…probably because he’s a fan of Kanye.

  16. Dawn says:

LOL at hardest working young lady in the world! Yep, she puts on makeup, she puts on too tight of clothes and then she calls the paps to take her picture here or there. Or she flies here and there to attend a party for 30 minutes. What a tough life the Kimmode leads. The president is right and as always PKM and her brood are wrong. The people who keep these bores rich are growing up and PMK better think of something new fast because their public is sick of them.

    • Macey says:

      Yep, This.

KK doesnt do anything but get PS, her make up done, and change clothes for her paid pap strolls. She doesnt even do those things herself, she has a full staff. all she has to do is sit on her phony fat ass. these ppl wouldnt know hard work if they saw it b/c they would run fast from ever having to do any actual work. good lord this family makes me sick.

  17. TheOneAndOnlyOnly says:

Except he’s right and echoing what volumes of commentary and analysis have been saying lately; remember David McCoullough’s (sic) school address last year titled “You are not special”; Narcissism, abetted by today’s technology, is pernicious, and the Prez is just reinterating what many are saying.
This is not a new critique, btw: read The Culture of Narcissism (1979) by Christopher Lasch. That’s assuming Pimp Momma can read.

  18. The Original Mia says:

There’s a great rebuttal on HuffPo to Kris’ remarks. I’m not sure if she truly doesn’t understand what the President is saying or if she’s so far up her own butt and believes her own hype. I lean towards the later.

She’s clueless if she can’t see that the youth of today don’t equate hard work with going to school, getting an education, getting a job and having financial security to raise their families. No…they equate the American dream with having a reality show and being the worst human beings possible on tv for cash.

    • fingerbinger says:

I’m going with head up her own butt. You could explain it to her, draw a picture or sing it in a song and she still wouldn’t get it.

    • Kiddo says:

This change in culture emanates from the top down. Look at the greedy banks and Wall Street. People acting badly pays off. As it does with politicians selling their souls for campaign donations. Add to that how much cheaper it is at the onset to start a program without good writers and good actors. The risk is negligible, so the TV execs get rich through bad behavior, too, by offering so much of this tripe and cutting out creative minds.

    • Evyn says:

      @The Original Mia
I read that rebuttal, and it is amazing.

    • Stacy says:

Great rebuttal by that HuffPo writer.

I shouldn’t be surprised that dumb as dirt Kris and her equally dumb, useless spawn didn’t get the gist of the President’s remarks.

He said nothing about Kim being lazy or not working hard. Kris Jenner is responding to something Obama didn’t even say.

  19. kiddo says:

He didn’t even say anything derogatory about her. She is a full-fledged idiot.

    • Barhey says:

I agree, his comments weren’t really derogatory and she should have just let it lie.

That being said, she does make one really good point; Obama has been extremely friendly with a lot of celebrities who he would never name drop like that. I feel like it’s slightly hypocritical to freely namedrop Kim and Kanye when you know he would never have said (for instance) Beyonce and Jay-Z, or Sarah Jessica Parker and George Clooney, or some of his other Hollywood supporters.

      • Kiddo says:

I would like it if everyone considered saying their name as the equivalent of “Beetlejuice” three times, and simply never utter it, otherwise you can expect shitty things to happen.

I see your point, but really, aside from Kanye, the rest of the clan’s entertainment “value” (which I do not see) is behaving like court jesters. That doesn’t require a high level of talent as some of the others you have mentioned.

  20. Jacqueline says:

You know that she’s just creaming in her panties because her #1 hoe just got name-checked by a president.

  21. Holt says:

Oh, dear God…. Take those gold chains OFF! We know you have money. There is NO need to flaunt it! Kanye and the Kardashians are the definition of “new money”. You can spot it a mile away! Old money does not care whether you know that have money or not. They don’t FLAUNT it!!!

  22. Viola says:

People who watch those kardashian shows are the problem. I dont care whether you “hate watch it”, watch it to be ironic or are just a brain dead fashionista. You contribute to their ratings and by exttension their brand and lifestyle. I dont blame them for exploiting the opportunities, I blame YOU for handing them the platform. Hell wouldnt have clicked on this if it hadnt mentioned Obama

    • truthful says:

      Well said!!

    • Kiddo says:

Same here. I won’t even allow a linger on the station for a second, if I realize their show or interviews are on.

    • Dommy Dearest says:

Youth and adults focus too much on what all celebrities do, not just these two assclowns. The media and current news puts focus on celebrities to distract everyone from the real issues at hand such as our rights being taken away from us slowly but surely.

And I doubt Obama is a fan of Kanye given him calling him a jackass a little while back when Kanye took the mic from Swift. I wouldn’t doubt he referenced them due to the high class trash that they are.

      • jwoolman says:

When he called Kanye a jackass, he was laughing and also making it obvious that he likes the guy regardless.

      • Dommy Dearest says:

If that’s the case then why try to make sure it was taken off the air? Kanye was and still is a jackass.

  23. Lulu86 says:

this woman is just lapping up the attention and probably did a fist pump when she heard about this. i find it sickening when celebrities go on and on about working hard. Even if Kim work 18 hour days i would still not consider that as working hard. this family has a special kind of downfall waiting for them. Kim has used and discarded everyone to get to where she is now from Paris Hilton, Ray J ,Kris Hump etc her crash lading will be epic.

  24. Carolyn says:

The Kardashian Klock is winding down…Kris’s talk show will last 1 season at best, the mags with “Kim’s baby joy” and “Kim’s dramatic weight loss” won’t sell what they’re expecting. Every endorsement they get into goes horribly wrong and ends in legal problems.

The bubble has well & truly burst.

There won’t be a Kardashian on screen or in print media in 3 years’ time.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

From your mouth to God’s ear. Please!

    • Christin says:

I hope your prediction is correct. Amazing it has gone on this long.

      • Carolyn says:

thankyou to you both. In Australia, their horrible bags arent’ seling and there are letters being written to mag editors asking that they not be featured.

Our Prime Minister has been publicly nicknamed “Kevin Kardashian” by a key member of the opposition party because he overtly courts the media (but can’t be called a famewhore publicly). The K name is a joke here.

The tide has turned in Australia.

    • Stacy says:

      Agree with this.

Weren’t there numbers last year that magazine covers with any Kardashian(s) on them were among that mag’s lowest-sellers of the year?

They overestimate their own importance. Paris Hilton faded back down to F-List, or wherever the hell she is now, and it will eventually happen to the Kardashians too (and not a moment too soon).

  25. Relli says:

Kaiser this is the funniest post you have ever written, the last line sold it! And yeah I totally agree.

  26. eliza says:

What is Kim’s job exactly? Nurse, teacher, social worker? Being in a sex tape, on a reality show and calling the paps is not an actual job, last I knew.

  27. Sam says:

Everybody keeps saying Kim has a “job.” No she doesn’t. A job is something you train for. I went to law school to get my job. I have to show up at the office at a certain time each morning, do what people tell me and leave at a certain time. That’s a job. Kim gets to choose what work she does, gets her schedule accomodated. Hell no, Kim does not “work” in any conventional sense.

  28. Switchoff says:

Why would President Obama even utter these people’s names?? It is disappointing.

  29. shanaynay says:

Kim doesnt sleep!?!? The proof is in your dumb show where Kim is called boring for sleeping and napping too much, Kris. Wake up.

  30. dorothy says:

Kris, not everyone is enamored, to the point of nausea, with Kim like you are.

  31. ThatGirl says:

    Cough-desperate-cough.

    Excuse me.

  32. BeesKnees says:

The problem these days is that so many people just want that easy fleeting fifteen minutes of fame and fortune rather than working hard to achieve lifelong success. You can blame reality tv or the internet for creating these monsters, but unfortunately young girls do emulate people like Kim K. Honestly I like living comfortably within my own means rather than doing something to compromise my integrity for a quick buck and a flow of cash that is sure to dry up. Love or hate Obama (or somewhere in between) he is right on this one. Too many people want to emulate the lifestyle of these no talent or limited talent celebs (no body copies Meryl Streep or Daniel Day-Lewis’ clothing, houses, cars etc., only the no talent hacks get copied) instead of realizing that big homes, designer labels etc. do not make you a better person or a more successful person. And the kind of hard work Kim Kardashian does is not something I’d like to do, because we all know she works hard at pimping out her image and selling her soul to the devil all day!

    • blaize says:

Most young girls don’t really look up to Kim K. Some may like her beauty or clothes and try to copy that. Some watch her shows. But most don’t have a positive opinion of her or want to be sex tape stars.

I think age and attractiveness are a big part of determining which celebrities people try to copy when it comes to fashion. The talented people you mentioned aren’t young and hot.

      • Alexandria says:

True. But this next generation of teens is looking up to Kendall and Kylie as idols. Entire blogs and Tumblrs devoted to them and their style. Kids trying to keep up and purchase every single thing those girls post on Instagram. Girls trying to find out how to get as skinny as Kendall. Those two are literally like Gods to this next generation and it’s sick.

      • Dommy Dearest says:

Actually, a lot of young girls are looking up to Kim, Paris, Miley, Rihanna, and the like. Sex is being glamorized in the media. All four of them either had tapes or photos ‘leaked’ of either all their body parts or some and the amount of young teenagers (even pre-teens) have begun sending such images or doing things. Yes, it does fall on the parents to teach them right from wrong but the lack of negative response does nothing but enable the behavior. Kim and Paris got reality shows and endorsement deals after their tapes leaked as well as raking in the cash- that really does leave an impression.

      • blaize says:

@Dommy Dearest: I’m going to completely leave Paris and Kim out of this argument, and just focus on Miley and Rihanna:

I really, really think that society needs to abandon it’s deeply-ingrained need to stigmatize or punish women (and others) for matters relating to sex and clothing in the 21st century.

Maybe my opinions are influenced by my being only 21, having no little kids of my own, my very liberal beliefs about sex and the human body, my own natural dislike of rules, my dislike of anything that seems like repression, and the my views about nudity, but that’s just how I feel. I’d hate the idea of forbidden dance moves and enforced modesty.

  33. scylla says:

@Kiddo: I know…. this is why I call him a puppet. But he is also evil because he made people believe in him and his ability to undo the harm the Bush years did to the USA.

The war on terror is a big, fat lie.

    • Kiddo says:

Bush was a puppet too. Cheney ran the country. I’m having a really difficult time with having faith in any politician.
      Dishonesty abounds. It sucks.

      • Dawn says:

        This.

      • Sloane Wyatt says:

@scylla: “The war on terror is a big, fat lie.” This is a factual statement.

Our phony endless war, prophetically described by George Orwells’s novel “1984”, and our two party system are elaborate shams, much like the Kardashians themselves. I find it rich that President Obama uses them as examples of fool’s gold.

  34. Marigold says:

I guess when your worthless, talentless kid is your meal ticket, you kiss her ass from here to the moon no matter how dense it makes you look.

  35. Jennifer12 says:

Kris Jenner is jumping up and down that her daughter was name checked by the president. She inevitably thinks that it shows how important Kim is.

  36. JudyK says:

Oh, STFU already, Kris Jenner. You are a detestable nobody known only for pimping her family.

  37. Suckmyfarts says:

My first problem is WHY is our president even mentioning the kardashians or kanye’s name?!? I’m sorry but I feel like there’s enough going on in the world to avoid those topics! I know he was asked a question but use another reference please! He is such a disappointing president!!!! Ugh & I voted for him too 🙁 🙁
Secondly, kris Jenner should feel flattered that the president wants to lower himself to mention her family! I’m all about capitalizing when you can but this fam has taking it to a new level.
Honestly this whole post is what us going wrong in this world! If your president is discussing a porn star during an interview than you know your country has problems! 🙁

    • Kim says:

So true. Why is he name dropping? How is him spending time with his besties Beyonce and Jayzee any different? As the President he has far more important issues to be discussing but as we know all know he loves the fame more than the actual job. I cant stand Kris Kardashian but she does make a valid point in her response.

      • jane16 says:

Beyonce & JZ are not the presidents besties. He knows them, probably likes them, but they aren’t together very much. Also, although I am not a fan of either, Beyonce & JZ are rich and famous by way of their making music, music videos, movies, and lots and lots of concerts, which are in fact, work. Work which creates an actual product that people buy, Beyonce works her ass off creating and performing. No comparison at all.

I’d be more interested in what the hell is going on with Russia. Talk about that Barry!

    • Dommy Dearest says:

… What does Beyonce create? The dancing and moving your mouth at the same time really is hard work.

  38. Jayna says:

Filming reality shows where you talk about superficial stuff, talking about getting “boned,” talk about clothes, fight, aw, what hard work.

  39. littlestar says:

Does anyone know how PMK’s talk show is doing? How are the ratings?

  40. The Original G says:

I can’t believe that POTUS made the mistake of acknowledging that these people exist.

    Lesson learned, I hope.

    • scylla says:

The president prefers we discuss the Kartrash-Clan instead of politics. I think this was a calculated move. (Even so I have to admit I agree with what he said, something I did most of the times… only that he always seems to be doing the opposite…)

  41. UsedToBeLulu says:

Who is she kidding, she is beyond thrilled that the president mentioned her family by name. Look at the pleased, manic gleam in her eye for heaven’s sake.

  42. Ag says:

“Young lady”? Ahm, no. “Never sleeps”? I thought that Kim had to sleep at least 9 hours a day, that’s why they have an army of nannies. “Her job”? What’s that? Being peed on for public consumption?

    • Ming says:

This! We all know Kim likes her sleep..so much so that she would call her sister an evil f$&king troll for waking her.

  43. Leslie says:

Kris Jenner is an idiot. But Obama made a big mistake using the Kartrashian name. He was absolutely right in what he said about kids today, but all he did was give the Kartrashians more publicity.

  44. MissNostalgia says:

If the logic in this post is to be followed; then why did the POTUS not mention Jay-Z and Beyonce, or is there a hierarchy in celebrity culture? You know, some celebrities are better than others. I am not a Kardashian fan, but I am not going to waste time bashing them.

    • MBP says:

I’m not a fan of the Carters, but in this case they at least have put in years of back-breaking work recording, touring, etc. Kanye I suppose should fit here too, but sadly is now chained to the K Klan.

  45. energydrink says:

POTUS is one to talk.. if anything he treats himself and his family as celebrities.. of course its a clever ploy, being so “available and accessible”, however his numerous talk show/buddying with Jay-Z and Beyawnce, etc.

    Very off-putting…

  46. pk says:

Obama may have given them more publicity, but IMO it’s pretty bad when the President is calling you out. And lets face it, he wasn’t wrong. Kris Jenner should have kept her mouth shut. How she can equate Kim making and selling a sex tape as “dreaming big” and some kind of “achievement” just shows how clueless she is. I hate to defend Kanye, but at least he had some kind of talent and earned his money and success.

  47. Margaret says:

dlisted.com has a great item in reference to this!

    http://dlisted.com/2013/08/11/the-delusions-of-pimp-mama-kris-know-no-bounds/

    • Christin says:

I like the part about mom’s marrying two rich guys and allegedly managing the tape release, which does appear to be her hard work. The first time I ever recall seeing her was when she was giving interviews after the OJ drama of 1994. Bruce was sitting beside her saying little if anything, but at the time HE was the known name. Her ex was just one of several lawyers on OJ’s defense team.

  48. LaurieH says:

Make no mistake: I am no fan of Pres. Obama. That being said, his comment was on point and, being of his generation, I totally get what he was saying and agree with it 100%. Back in “the day” of young adulthood (for Obama and I, that being the early 80’s) young people did not obsess over material wealth, labels and fame the way they do now. In fact, a Pew research study came out a few years ago that showed that the #1 goal of Generation Y is to get rich. The #2 goal was to be famous. That means we have an entire generation of vacuous, shallow people (the irony being that the same young people who rail against the 1% and capitalism want more than anything to become part of the 1% through capitalismthemselves….which is why it’s so easy to dismiss them). They don’t necessarily want to earn it (like, say, Steve Jobs) or pay their dues for it (like say, Oprah Winfrey) – they just want it and, to some degree, feel they are entitled to it. No one – absolutely no one – exemplifies this useless exploitation more than Kim Kardashian whose only claim to fame was a sex tape. That Barack Obama recognizes this and publicly states this is NOT throwing shade on it, but rather shedding light on it. As to Kris Jenner, there is no surprise that she failed to see the broader message and took it personally because she’s convinced the whole freakin’ world revolves around her and her moneymakers.

  49. Assistant Rachel says:

Dear anyone the press would want to talk to,

Please for the love of God, do not name drop anyone with the last name Kardashian, or any of their friends
Or significant others. We don’t need to give them any reason to attempt to defend themselves

    Sincerely,
    EVERYONE

  50. Jade says:

Most policiticians and people do not attack their allies or friends openly anyway. Sometimes, it’s about being self-serving but sometimes it is also about being nice and civil. I can’t stand them but Obama can’t mention B and JZ because at end of the day, despite their ventures into non-music, their core professions are singing, producing and rapping. They are not just shilling a reality show and what they are wearing. He shouldn’t have mentioned the K name so that’s dumb.

Since this is not about Obama’s leadership which is a whole other analysis, I will just focus on his comment. I get that some people think that he was being hypocritical since he fraternizes with the celebs. On the other hand, his quote did not specifically say he disagreed with their lifestyles. Maybe quietly he does or maybe he doesn’t, but he did not give his opinion on it for this quote. His opinion here was that it is worrying that the public is being constantly exposed to how these people live and mistaking it as a measure of success when life is more than about what you buy. Some celebs through the decades have bought into the lavish and luxurious lifestyle but we did not really hear about it since gossip and news did not travel as fast. News and information these days are about oversaturation, profitability and speed. We are bombarded with all types of news and entertainment news is big business which is consumed pretty heavily. I think that’s why his quote is about being worried about having this window into celeb-hood. Having shows and articles like Forbes richest celebs, biggest house, car, yacht, highest salary, baby fashion, couture fashion for the red carpt etc focuses on the glamour and narrowly highlights the spending habits of celebs while the hard work of some celebs is an after thought i.e. it is not as glamorous and interesting to only show the hard work behind the scenes. This narrow focus on celebrity’s consumption habits only serves to promote unrealistic expectations, greed and potentially bad debt. That is I believe, not the direction that we want young people to go to and it’s not wrong if Obama feels that way. So I feel that maybe his quote could be misconstrued as an attack on celebrities specifically, instead of the window into celebrity spending which young people should not buy blindly into.

  51. Claudia says:

Her expression there, with her mouth open…. totally reminds me of Donald Trump. So appropriate.

  52. Kemper says:

The fact that Kris J. did not get point of the discussion to begin with shows how egocentric & stupid these people really are.

  53. jane16 says:

Well written post Kaiser, and dead on target. What the prez said was totally true, look at all the copycat spawns of the kartrashians, the teen moms fgs! Doing porno and sitting in jail or rehab. That blonde girl with the giant fake boobs that teeters around L.A. with her creepy old has been actor husband. The no-talent kartrashians got lucky and famous and rich and now their are scads of weirdos trying to copy them. I live near them & can tell you they are the nastiest rudest people you could ever meet. Everyone here hates them, they don’t have a shred of “neighborliness” or common courtesy. btw, Kris, having someone put pounds on makeup on you and blow out your fake hair, and squeezing your lard ass into clothes that are 3 sizes too small, and then going on a pap stroll or a nightclub is not WORK! Picking out gaudy gold plated toilets in not WORK! Planning and participating in fake weddings is not WORK! Kanye is currently being papped in Greece with his boyfriends, boating and having fun…on VACATION.

  54. TG says:

This is a response to @Lindsay way up at the top regarding that traitor Snowden. I agree completely. I know I am in the minority with that among liberals but I can’t stand that Snowden guy and I hope he is brought to justice. He is such an annoying coward. The damage he has done to our country is far reaching and we are not likely to recover from it anytime soon, if at all.

    • Dommy Dearest says:

Oh I do hope you feel the same way about all the politicians that have broken their oath to protect the constitution as well. Which is much more than half. Snowden did what any person concerned with the lies and major moves done by the government behind closed doors. Our rights are being trampled on and people want to call him a traitor because of an oath broken while other politicians continue to break them on the daily? No thanks, not going to buy that crap.

  55. eliza says:

He lives in a 55,000 square foot house because it essentially doubles as an office FOR RUNNING AN ENTIRE COUNTRY. She is an idiot. Really, such an embarrassment.

  56. Viv says:

I somehow think that Kanye will not like PMK’s delusional talk. Can’t wait to hear Yeezus come down from whatever mountain to speak to the world and comment on this.

  57. Mary says:

    porn is hard work?

  58. salsa says:

I am dissapointed that he would even use thier names. Now they think they are important because he name-dropped them. But you all forget that the Kartrashian were at the White House Corespondents Dinner in 2012. They probably have been feeling ‘important’ since then.
You know, Natalie Portman has been criticized on this site alot. But atleast she works hard for her money, does good work and is famous for a good reason. Its because of talent and skills. She even worked hard for her Harvard degree too. Something that the Kartrashians could never achive. They are not educated, never had a hard days work and they are so proud of their daughter/sister who made a sex tape that gave her ‘stardom’. What a bunch of idiots. If their daughter/sister is the ‘hardest working girl in the world’, what does that make everyone else then?
Oh, not to mention that they think South East or whatever is like “America’s Royal baby’ hahaha. As if.

  59. jwoolman says:

Kimmie never sleeps? But, but, but Kimmie said she needs her ten hours of sleep each night and that’s why the night nanny does everything for little Ka-Ching! Kardashian NorthBy North West!

Obama’s right, though. I’m older than he is, but definitely there is a huge difference between what kids are exposed to on tv and in commercials than when I was growing up and was a young adult. “Reality” shows emphasizing conspicuous consumption like the inescapable K Klan are relatively new. Before that, it was quite some time before things like expensive sports shoes and clothing were being peddled on tv to the kiddies. Earlier kid-oriented commercials used real kids of an appropriate age and showed how the toys worked. Even candy commercials showed you the actual candy and its innards. At some point, commercials became quite different, showing older kids in expensive clothes and emphasizing that cool celebrities and the cool kids ate/drank/wore the items rather than telling you anything useful. Clothes in earlier times were something that adults bought for kids, not something that kids were supposed to be clamoring for themselves. Back-to-school duds are now peddled directly to six year olds! And kid-oriented cartoons and live-action shows have an obligatory “school uniform” episode trying to convince kids that uniforms will destroy their individuality and creativity and only the uncool kids like them. Follow the money- this is all on behalf of clothing sellers who want kids to buy lots and lots of clothes. We had school uniforms when I was a kid, and they really cut down on costs. They wore like iron and so it was easy to buy them used as other kids grew out of theirs. The Keeping Up with the Joneses stopped during the school day, they really did level the playing field. Kids just needed simple play clothes for after school and weekends, so it was okay to have very few snazzy clothes for special occasions. School uniforms are good for families but bad for profits. Anyway, it’s much harder to be poor or on a tight budget today than in years past, because kids are relentlessly targeted by ad campaigns designed to make them want more and more expensive things and tv shows like the KKlan’s stuff glorify buy buy buy and mindlessness.

  60. greenmad says:

Obama is correct on this one. That big fat clan of Kardashians need to disappear forever now, they have made enough money doing absolutely nothing. How do you get such an easy job like that? not fair!

  61. Penguin says:

    Young lady?.

  62. jwoolman says:

Mama Ten Percent is just as undereducated as her children and doesn’t know how to read very well. The Prez didn’t say anything bad about her little Kimmie. He didn’t call her a slut or lazy. He just was saying that kids today are paying a lot of attention to the doings of rich people like her and Kanye, much more than in the past, and reality shows showing rich lifestyles are changing their aspirations in a way that is troubling. He probably mentioned them in particular because 1) he knows and likes Kanye and 2) the K Klan rather epitomizes the explosion of rich-people “reality” shows, they seem to have a never-ending supply of them and even get married in fancy tv extravaganzas.

Of course, Mama Ten Percent is probably still ticked that when asked some time ago, Obama revealed that he and his wife don’t let their daughters watch the Kardashians….

  63. Melibea4ever says:

For the love of God..the kardashians wouldn’t know hard work if it hit them in the face!!!

  64. NitNit says:

Kris, what have u done. Every time u open ur mouth to defend Kim, the first thing people will discuss is her sex tape. Ur daughter is now a grown woman with her own daughter now. She can speak for herself. Stop looking for attention for ur talkshow. We know the ratings aren’t there. You’re boring. U did not comprehend what the president was saying. Dumb move Kris. I happen to like Kim and Kanye, but u need to learn how to keep quiet sometimes. Loose lips sink ships.

  65. Jade says:

I cant stand her but she right! this idiot needs to keep his nose out of actors ect and do his f^%king job!!! the worst WORST PRESIDENT IN HISTORY!!!! AND NO I DIDNT VOTE FOR THIS TW$T! >:(

  66. garcieel says:

Famous for no reason. What has this family done to be the daily news? Seriously Kim kartrashian does not have a job, she does not work hard. She does nothing! Niether does the rest of her family
What does she work hard at? Making a sex tape? Running a a sham wedding? Trying to one-up( But miserably fails every time) Kate Middleton? What a hard worker.
I also can’t believe the President would even use thier names in an interview. He could have thrown the shade at them in another way. You know something is wrong with the world when the US president talks about F list, low rent p0rn stars and people who have achieved nothing in life.
