Jennifer Aniston on morning runs: ‘Getting older, my body ain’t what it used to be’

Here are some new photos of Jennifer Aniston arriving at LAX after her “European promotional tour” for We’re the Millers. Worst European promotional tour ever!! I mean, she only went to two countries!! She attended premieres in London and Berlin and that’s it. Usually celebrities doing European promotion will go to Madrid, London, Paris, Berlin and maybe one more city. I guess Jennifer wanted to get back to LA.

Anyway, I don’t really have much to say about these pics – I don’t understand why she’s so bundled up, why she’s wearing a fedora or why she’s carrying two purses, but I guess that’s just how she rolls. There aren’t that many new Aniston interviews either, although I did find some newish quotes about (guess what?!) her workout and her stripper body:

JENNIFER Aniston (pix) hit the gym hard while filming ‘We’re The Millers’ and says her toned figure took a lot of commitment.

The 44-year-old actress had to bare all for a saucy underwear scene in her new comedy ‘We’re The Millers’ and says she spent hours in the gym doing squats and yoga in order to firm up her buttocks.

Asked how she achieved her buff body at the film’s London premiere, Jennifer told Yahoo omg!: “With a lot of hard work and commitment to a workout regime and your diet! Squats and you know what else is really good for your butt is yoga! As is the Bar Method – do you have that over here? Trust me, it just goes in and up!”

The body sculpting technique is an A-list favourite which strengthens the core using dance and physical therapy.

Jennifer is comfortable in her own skin but admits her body’s changed as she’s got older. The actress, who’s engaged to Justin Theroux, has to work hard to keep her toned figure.

‘I like to run first thing in the morning – 20 minutes to an hour is ideal,’ says Jen, 44. ‘It’s easy to get addicted to the euphoric feeling of having a good sweat after a run. It wakes up your body. I really noticed the difference, getting older. My body ain’t what it used to be! I also love yoga. It helps me to feel balanced and strong inside.’

The tough regime must be paying off as Jen admits she’s quite happy being starkers.

‘I am comfortable [naked], yes,’ the Friends star tells Saturday Magazine, ‘but I don’t walk around my house for that long naked!’

[From Now Magazine & The Sun Daily]

I hate squats. I refuse to do squats, but years ago I came to the realization that no matter what I did or did not do, I was always going to have a big, round bubble butt. Jennifer too will always have a round booty – that’s just her body type (and her Greek genes). Maybe she firms it up with yoga and running, but it will always be there. Also: I have seriously never heard of The Bar Method. It sounds a bit like the Tracy Anderson Method, right?

“Morning runs” can be taken two ways …sorry, my mind went there.

  2. Katren says:

She has a terrible casual style! I never see photos of her just out and about and think what she wears is nice or flattering.

  3. Eleonor says:

    What’s wrong with a round butt ?

    • Steph says:

Yea I like my Mexican booty and I do squats and walk on incline to keep it that way lol

    • Tapioca says:

Nothing, absolutely nothing. Cherish your cheeks!

Unfortunately, whilst running and weights classes have toned the rest of me up, my poor backside is shrinking down to a thin line between my legs and my back.

      Damn my congenital white-girl butt!

      • Rachel says:

I feel your pain. As a child of two parents who suffer from Chronic Pancake Ass, I will never had that nice firm booty I so desperately want.

      • Steph says:

I have Asian-girl butt. There’s nothing there and it’s so sad! Cherish your round booties!

      • Janet says:

Im black and “booty-ful”. Lucky me!

      • Sachi says:

Count me in. Denim jeans/shorts with back pockets are my best friend. They give me the illusion of having somewhat of a butt. I’ve lost some 20 lbs. doing Zumba and Pilates and my boobs are still big. If only I could put some of my boobs on my butt, make things look more proportionate! 😀

My sister lost a lot of weight to Zumba and her curves along with it. She always parodies the infomercial testimonials and says, “I lost my boobs and ass thanks to Zumba!!!”

    • CleoCat73 says:

I would kill for a nice round booty. I’m built more like GOOP, (tho I don’t look like a 22 yr old stripper), tall, lanky & boobless. I suppose the grass is always greener. Sigh.
I don’t have a problem with Jen’s casual style but I do wish she would ditch those wedges. And I need that grey purse in my life

    • Mitch Buchanan Rocks! says:

I thought thats the butt everyone wants – people have gotten implants to get a round butt. Jessica Simpson herself trained for weeks on end to achieve a round butt.

    • Ginger says:

I’m a Scots Irish woman but also have a round booty I am proud of! I feel blessed to have an hourglass figure. however being the same age as Jen I totally get it. Everything starts to sag at some point (thanks gravity!) and you have to work harder to stay in shape…fact of life. big deal! These quotes from her are boring to me.

    • Zoey says:

I think people confuse “fat ass” which really just means wide and usually flat with “bubble butt”. Bubble butt can be found on the most narrow frame and its a delight to view, see Rihanna. Bubble also rarely sags.

Bubble butt is to be aspired to, fat ass is to be resisted with every ounce of strength.

The bubble is the reason why guys go on about Jens ass (although its more a little bump than a bubble). Same for Kyle Minogue in her day.

      • Jayna says:

Exactly. Jen has a great ass and I have never seen a saggy photo of her ass yet.

      • truthSF says:

I agree Zoey, Jen doesn’t have a bubble butt. She has more of a very small bump that in the wrong outfit, can look very flat and wide(see pics from Spikes guy awards, where she wore a very short and very tight black dress a few years ago). A bubble butt is noticeable in anything. I have a bubble butt, and I’m much smaller than she is weight wise, and no matter what I wear, you can see my bubble butt.

  4. HH says:

My friend runs and he loves it too. I’ve never felt euphoric after a run…ever.

    • Algernon says:

I always feel like I want to die after running. It’s my least-favorite physical activity.

    • DeltaJuliet says:

I hate every single second of running. But I love how I feel after. And it has nothing to do with losing weight or anything (I haven’t lost a pound, sadly). It must be the endorphins.

      • Janet says:

I won’t even run for a bus. My momma used to say buses are like men. Miss one, catch the next one.

      • IzzyB says:

Janet – That is pure gold! Made me laugh at the bus stop. And coincidentally, I have just missed mine because I won’t run.

    • Jayna says:

I have, but it’s miles into a run. Your body gets into a rythym and I usually only experience it in a run where it starts in daylight but the sun is going down and I end the run in the dark, with a cool breeze and much quieter. There is a euphoric feeling I develop during the run and I actually pick up speed also.

  5. Kitten Mittens says:

I wonder if she does a treadmill or outside. My guess is treadmill so her joints are deteriorating faster.
And I’m a bit shocked to see no smart water plug…

  6. emmie_a says:

I don’t know what the Tracy Anderson method is but The Bar Method is based on ballet moves… I have taken classes before and it’s a great workout (but expensive!)

I want Jennifer’s gray hobo bag — I love it!!!

    • lamamu says:

I’ve been doing bar classes for about a year (once a week is all I can afford), and it really works. Lots of tiny movements and isometric holds. I’m a runner too and haven’t had any injuries since I started. It doesn’t look like you’re doing much, but, oh, the burn. And, yeah, my butt does look better.

Also, I like to bring EVERYTHING with me on a long int’l flight, but really two LARGE bags? She must check some of her luggage…

      • emmie_a says:

Have you ever tried the DVD’s? I’ve always wanted to order them but didn’t know if they were worth the money. I like the classes because your form is so important and the instructors are good at making sure you’re doing it right.

      • lamamu says:

emme_a, I’ve been tempted by the dvd’s (and I think they even come with the necessary equipment), but I haven’t made the jump. I regularly need the instructor to point my hips in the right direction. 🙂 However, it would save money…

    • MsGoblin says:

It should be the “Barre Method”, meaning ballet barre.

      IMO

      • emmie_a says:

There is a program called Pure Barre — same method, different name.

      • lamamu says:

I take classes at Pure Barre, so I think you’re right.

      • Birdix says:

there is a ballet barre, but that’s the only similarity. There’s nothing dance-y or remotely fun about the bar method–it’s more like hazing. It’s truly awful, but it does work. Makes me hate exercise though, because it’s so painful…

      • cdnmama says:

I think Bar is a play on words as the instructors name is Bar…. and re: dvds I used them and they are fantastic! Esp. if you have to miss class/ don’t have classes available.

      • Karen says:

“The Bar Method” is an actual studio and DVD series – amazing instructor who really makes you move slowly and get your form perfect.

      • Nina says:

Well, considering how much she likes to booze it up, the ‘bar’ method is a distinct possibility.

If you know what I am saying.

        *wink*wink*

        *nudge*nudge*

    • Crumpets & Crotchshots says:

Same here– ballet barre workouts are all the rage and for a good reason. My gym is adding more classes.

  7. The Original G says:

She looks like she was styled by Johnny Depp.

    • Kiddo says:

      Except her hair is clean.

    • Sal says:

      Yep, she looks ridiculous.

      • Sabrine says:

There’s nothing wrong with the way she looks. I had to laugh when I saw the two bags. That’s me – one bag is never enough! The overflow bag probably has her entertainment for the flight in it, books, tablet, etc.

    • bobbiesue says:

I feel like in that one photo where she’s holding the top of the fedora she’s channeling MICHAEL JACKSON! She’s about to do the moon walk…
It doesn’t really work on her. Hats, sigh…the hipster beanie..I dislike them all on celebs; and hipsters.

  8. chloe says:

I want that Chanel bag. As for exercise I did a biggest looser contest at my workplace in my late 30’s and lost over 30 lbs. of course in my 40’s I’ve gained it back and now I’m trying the same exercise and diet and it’s not working the same, your body definitely changes as you get older. I wonder if she’s having some of the same issues.

    • Janet says:

Your metabolism slows down in your 40s and you don’t burn calories the way you used to. You have to eat less just to stay at the same weight.

      • CleoCat73 says:

Gone are the days when all I needed to do to stay in shape was to skip a meal or two & have lots of great sex. Damn you 40’s!

    • chloe says:

It sucks, I have a friend who is a trainer and he told me I needed to change up my workouts, apparently my body has caught on to my old ways of working out. One of the best workouts I used to do was a mix of yoga and Pilates, it helped lean out the mid section and toned the arms, but I was cussing by the end of each hour.

  9. Tessa says:

I have traded in my running shoes for a bike in the last six months. It’s much easier on my knees, but you have to workout three times longer to really break that sweat and feel invigorated. Reading this has made me itchy to take a good run, even though I know it’s going to mean knee replacement in my 60’s. It can be very addictive. I love that feeling when you’re really warmed up and nothing hurts anymore and you feel like you can keep going for days. It makes you feel really strong and powerful.

    • MsGoblin says:

Have you looked into Kangoo Jumps? They are supposed to save your knees.

    • Jaded says:

Try running on a rebounder (small trampoline), you get the same results but it’s much easier on your knees. It’s kinda boring to run in place for 30-45 minutes but I just do it in front of the TV.

    • kibbles says:

Have you tried using an elliptical? Some people think it’s boring, but that is my go-to exercise equipment at the gym. I can spend 90 minutes on it at a high resistance level and I don’t think it ruins the knees.

    • Bridget says:

This is said with the caveat that of course everyone’s body is different, and you may be one of those people who just have rough knees. But running really isn’t that bad for your knees if you properly care for yourself – as in, do exercises to keep your supporting muscles strong (ie your core, glutes and small stabilization muscles) and take good care of your IT band, which is actually why foam rollers are so popular, because it’s the closest you can get to a deep tissue massage at home. Also train wisely so that your body gets used to mileage – never increase your weekly mileage by more than ten percent.

Before I started running after I had my secod kid, I was convinced that I had a bad knee and made sure to get checked out by a doc. It wasn’t a bad knee, it was a weak knee. You’d be amazed how common it is, since we so frequently focus on more basic exercises like regular squats that primarily estrengthen our large muscle groups, and ignore variations like the single leg squat (which is used frequently as a PT exercise)

  10. Lulu86 says:

Jennifer is naturally a rounder girl like Beyonce,Victoria Beckham. But she has sick discipline like Madonna and clearly consciously makes staying trim a huge factor.

    • emmie_a says:

Like Victoria Beckham?? She doesn’t have curves.

    • lenje says:

Victoria Beckham is naturally round ala Beyonce?

      • Lulu86 says:

LOL let me rephrase. If you see old pictures of Victoria Beckham she has the build of someone curvier, like if she ate food i imagine her body being like Catherin Zeta Jones in Zoro. Just like Beyonce(but she is a pefomer so that keeps her in shape). I was just mentioning female celebrities that seem like they have insane discipline in regards to their bodies eg Madonna,Goop,Victoria Beckham,Jennifer Aniston etc

    • LAK says:

Victoria Beckham has exercised such iron discipline over the years that people genuinely think she’s naturally thin or dieting to maintain her ‘natural’ skinny figure.

Pics from her Spice girls days show her natural size, and she was dancing regularly in those days. At some point towards the end of that phase of her life, she had a baby and lost several dress sizes apparently naturally due to giving birth. I guess she loved her new skeletor look so much that she’s never returned to her natural size.

For what it’s worth, her time in LA added a few pounds to her frame so that she looks fairly human as opposed to the skeletor with giant fake boobs she maintained for 7-8yrs prior to that.

  11. Adrien says:

Yes Bar Method and Tracy’s are similar, both are variations of Lotte Berk technique. Other fitness programs following Lotte Berk style are Core Fusion, Dailey and Physique 57. I think Tracy tries to differentiate her program from other Berk disciples by introducing a grueling cardio workout that is similar to Madonna’s dance moves and a baby food diet. You will probably get the same teeny-tiny dancer’s body results Tracy promises from other methods if you just eat pureed fruits everyday.

  12. Nev says:

We’re The Millers is still doing really great!!!!! Yayyy Jennifer!

    • Janet says:

It’s doing decently. It’s taken two weeks to make as much as WWZ made its first weekend out. But it’s doing quite well compared to Wanderlust, which was an epic disaster.

      • lenje says:

Not sure why one needs to compare WWZ and WTM, they’re not even in the same genre. If you really need to compare WWZ with any movie in this time, by all means please put it side by side Elysium.

(PS. You’ve probably also read that Elysium was kicked to 3rd spot, while WTM took the 2nd place this weekend).

      • doofus says:

I gotta agree with lenje here, comparing Millers to WWZ is apples to oranges. WWZ has done well, amazingly well, there’s no argument there, but to compare its box office take to a basic comedy like Millers is a bit unfair. as lenje said, it’s better to compare it to a movie in the same genre of “summer action blockbuster”…like Elysium, any of Cruise’s latest bombs, or even something like Independence Day.

but I get it…for you, it’s apparently Brad vs. Jen.

      • Janet says:

And they both got kicked to the curb by “The Butler”. Point is, $69 mil over two weeks is not doing “really great” unless expectations were very low to begin with.

      • doofus says:

Well, keeping your spot in second place isn’t really being “kicked to the curb”, IMO, but if that’s how you see it, OK.

and while I agree that $69mil over two weeks isn’t “really great”, it is (as you pointed out) decent, and has made a profit for the studio.

    • Janet says:

      Double post. Damn iPad.

    • chloe says:

I saw it with some friends this weekend and we laughed our butts off, to be honest besides Horrible Bosses, I haven’t seen Jason S. in anything else, I liked his dry humor and the young boy in it was great. I thought all of the actors played well off of each other. As for a low budget beating a high budget film, they are two different types of films going for different audiences, they have both made more money than what it cost to make them which is a good thing for the movie industry.

  13. Kiddo says:

I’m starting to like her. She seems more real and comfortable with herself.

  14. Holt says:

Yes, gravity is a heartless b!ch, Aniston! But you look wonderful… Keep doing what you are doing!

  15. Toot says:

I guess I’m going blind because Jennifer doesn’t have an ass to me.

  16. doofus says:

“the bar method” is (I think) using a ballet barre…it’s a pretty big thing in my area, you have Pure Barre studios popping up everywhere.

  17. Sal says:

Whats with the outfit? What a poser! She is trying way too hard. She looks pathetic.

  18. Venice says:

Two purses and she has to carry her reading glasses? I like the gray one a lot!

    • Janet says:

I love the gray bag but it’s way too big for me. When I have a bag that big I’m tempted to fill it up. Then I’m schlepping around 15 lbs of stuff I don’t need.

  19. NM9005 says:

Oh god, if I had 10% of the discipline that women like Aniston and Madonna have, I would look fantastic.

Then again, if my work revolved around being fit or slender and getting paid a lot with loads of spare time, then yeah, I would be more motivated I guess.

  20. snappyfish says:

    I need that chanel bag.

I’ve been interested in doing pure barre classes, too – the 40s are spent fighting gravity!

  21. Maya says:

I dont get why people think Jennifer is naturally pretty. She is a self-confessed exercise freak, has monthly botox & fillings & laser treatments, bleaches her hair and also wears extensions, wears color contact lenses, has had two nose jobs and sunbathes weekly. If you want to compare her to other actresses who are naturally stunning without any work (Cate Blanchett,Halle Berry, Marion Cotillard, Angelina Jolie, Kate Winslet, Julia Roberts ect)then Jennifer falls short. Dont get me wrong – Jennifer is attractive but only after doing all of the things I mentioned above.

PS: Jennifer has to be the most vain person in Hollywood. She only talks about her body, diet and her hair. Is there really nothing else that interest her?

    • me says:

She answers questions that are asked of her. All articles about her are about her looks and so are most comments, especially here.
And if you or I or anyone on this site were photographed, followed, commented on as much as she is, wouldn’t we all do everything we could to look as good as we could? I know I would. And if I had the financial resources she does, I wouldn’t be shy about spending them to look good.

    • jojo says:

most, if not all actresses do something, whether its as simple as botox or more complex surgery. HB has regular botox treatments. And Angie has had some of work done when she was younger, lip injections, etc..

      • Maya says:

When I wrote about all the things Jennifer has had done – she confessed to all of the things. Hence the reason I use that in my argument.

Angelina’s lips are real which were proven when her daughter’s were born with the same big lips. As for her nose job – I personally wont believe it until Angelina confesses to have had it done. I dont believe in gossip unless the stars themselves says it.

Never knew about Halle Berry and Kate Winslet going under the knife – I will google that to see if you are right.

PS: Jennifer is being asked about her body, diet and hair because that these are the only things she ever talks about. Jennifer is not known to be very articulate or clever – she is also known to be drunk on stage because she gets nervous. All of her interviews are scripted and pre-agreed with her agent before it is taped. Jennifer doesnt like to be surprised and because she is not witty enough to answer real questions.

      • siobhan says:

Google Angelina Jolie nose job. The change in her nose isn’t a subtle one.

      • Janet says:

Well if that’s all that people ask of her, then that shows what people think of her.

      • doofus says:

“I personally wont believe it until Angelina confesses to have had it done. I dont believe in gossip unless the stars themselves says it.”

to Maya: remember, Ashlee Simpson denied getting a nose job even though before/after pictures told a much different story.

while I don’t believe for a second that Jolie has had any lip plumping done (her teen modeling shots show her natural, full lips), I do believe that she’s had subtle work done on her nose. nothing drastic that changed her natural beauty, but a bit of refinement. no biggie, a LOT of movie stars have work done.

and Halle Berry has definitely had work done. she’s gorgeous, but it ain’t ALL natural.

    • siobhan says:

Angelina, Halle, and Kate W have all had nose jobs.

    • Holt says:

@Maya – Bless your heart…. Go back to JJ and complain.

  22. littlestar says:

I love running. I’ve started to throw in a weekly Bikram class too, to help keep my joints strong. But dayum, when did yoga become so expensive?

  23. TheTruthHurts says:

I’m telling ya, there is something more to this and I think she IS pregnant. When you are 44 and have always worked out and have never given birth, your body stays nice and tight. Yeah, you have to continue to work out, but your figure bounces back easy once you start again. I don’t believe Jennifer ever slacked off on working out first of all. She’s a vain actress like the rest of them and loves her yoga. She has to be preggers & is covering it up until she is in the super safe zone or just doesn’t want to admit it to prying eyes like ours. I’m happy for her.

  24. CityGirl says:

I don’t know, Truth, she may just be 44…I know it hit me in the last year – I’m 48, and for the first time in my whole adult life, I m busting out of clothes I’ve always worn and cant even get into my jeans….
    just sayin’

    • Janet says:

Once you hit your mid-40’s and your metabolism goes south, you have to eat much less than you did before just to maintain your weight. Otherwise, as you said, you’ll start busting out of your jeans. Believe me, I know from experience. I’m holding the line at a size 6 but lemme tell ya, it ain’t easy.

  25. stinky says:

all of a sudden, no “Jennifer” bag on her shoulder.
She really HAD been carrying it for months. that is. until ……

  26. Apsutter says:

Ain’t nothing wrong with a bubble butt! They are beautiful and guys love them and you can always fill out a pair of jeans or yoga pants beautifully!

  27. LaurieH says:

I’m not going to throw shade on her. She looks amazing and I applaud her commitment to it, because is hard and gets a LOT harder after 40.

  28. TC says:

Aniston isn’t a huge international draw outside of the UK, Germany and possibly Australia. That’s why her European Tour only consisted of London and Berlin. Depending on how well Millers does in those two countries, she may end up going to Australia for a premiere there, but it’s struggling in some of its European locations right now, so I don’t know.

  29. Lauraq says:

I love my morning runs. 9.5 most days, 7.5 on Wednesday, 10-15 on Sundays. It really puts you in a good headspace for the rest of the day. So much more tranquility no matter what comes at you. And yes, there is such a thing as a runner’s high.
