I haven’t heard much about Pippa Middleton in a while. I think she was actively trying to be low-key for a few months following her sister’s Great Kate Wait for the royal birth. Leading up to the birth of Prince George, of course, Pippa was in the news for all of the wrong reasons. Pippa spent the summer trying to shut down a light-hearted and genuinely funny parody Twitter account called Pippa Tips. She also was the subject of a dishy, bitchy, amazing take-down by the New York Times. So she had good reason to go undercover for a little while.
But you can’t keep a good hustler down. Earlier this summer, the Middleton family was pushing rumors that Pippa was about to get engaged to her boyfriend of (then) four months, Nico Jackson. And now those rumors are popping up again:
Pippa Middleton and her boyfriend Nico Jackson have embarked on a romantic Caribbean holiday in secret, according to friends who suspect that they may have become engaged. Confidants of the couple say that they have been on holiday for two weeks and are believed to be renting a villa on an island, likely to be Mustique – the exclusive destination where the Middleton clan regularly takes breaks and where Nico first went on holiday with the family.
Miss Middleton, 29, and 35-year-old Mr Jackson have been dating for more than six months, and observers have said the couple have looked ‘closer than ever’ when out together in recent weeks. The Mail on Sunday revealed in July that the couple were poised to tie the knot, but were delaying an announcement until Pippa’s sister, the Duchess of Cambridge, safely delivered her baby.
According to reports last night, the couple have become secretly engaged but will not announce it formally until after Pippa’s 30th birthday next Friday. Mr Jackson, a stockbroker, is said to have been coy about introducing Miss Middleton to his friends in his home town of Folkestone, Kent.
A close friend said last night: ‘We all suspect there’s been an engagement but no one’s been told yet. Obviously there’s been a suspicion he’s embarrassed to bring her down to meet his friends, instead he wants to bring us up to London to meet her soon.’
The couple were seen together at Wimbledon and Miss Middleton wrote in Vanity Fair in the summer about her love of tennis and that, ‘if I had to get married, it would be in my tennis whites – shorts with no pleats or frills’.
Speculation has also been mounting that Princess Beatrice, who is sixth in line to the throne, could soon become engaged to her long-term boyfriend Dave Clark.
Crap, Pippa is a Virgo too?! I knew I had an affinity for her for some reason. She’s a fellow Virgo. Hey, girl. We need to talk!
Anyway, even though most of the UK tabloids are running these “Pippa is secretly engaged!” stories, Us Weekly’s sources say that it’s not happening. Some royal-beat reporters are saying that it’s not happening too. Which… I don’t really understand. Why is the Middleton Camp pushing the engagement rumors only to deny them? Is it just Pippa wanting some attention? Or is something shady happening? For what it’s worth, Nico looks up for whatever shadiness Pippa is up to. It’s not like Nico has a title to protect or old family money. Nico seems to be a lot like Pippa – eager for whatever attention he can get.

I really cannot help but feel a bit sad for Pippa: always the second one, the one for whom the plans were barely formulated at all (just “marry rich and be good to the family”, I’m guessing), the one who needed to hustle for herself… being Waity’s sister must be tough.
With that in mind… congratulations, I guess? Good for her is she’s happy.
What’s to feel sorry about? That guy is a hunk and wealthy to boot. She can pretty much do what she wants. Kate will never be fully free again.

IMO If Pippa wants to play this smart she’ll go fora destination wedding. People will compare wedding of course, but if she ops out of a church and more for a beach the weddings will be so different they couldn’t draw parallels and critic the weddings too much.
To compare a beach wedding and dress to a formal more traditional wedding is hard to do.
how old is she? she seems pretty young, like maybe mid 20s, an early mid 20s….i think she need to come in to her own before getting married, especially to this guy, if i know british/stockbroker/silver spoon guys (and i do, minus the silver spoon) he’s going to put a quarter in her back and wind her up into ‘robot mode’ …

Every time i see Pippa i wonder why she is so orange. Is that a reaction to whatever brand of fake tan she uses or is it overzealous application or is the fake tan that colour? Nico is the same shade so i guess birds of a feather and all that.
I’ve been wondering about that too. It is such a peculiar shade. Why would anyone purposefully set out to be that colour?

Bagging a titled guy was the goal, especially with her sister landing the future king of England. Since the available viscounts, earls, barons, and dukes run the other way when they see her, Pip-squeak has to settle for a monied commoner.
Can we please stop trying to make her happen!! Yeah she got attention for her butt (still don´t understand that..) 2 years ago, which was another hustle of the Middletons to bag her a rich dude – preferably with a title. So now it seems she finally got what she and her family wanted… go away now please..
Maybe this (getting people to speculate) is Pippa’s way of putting the pressure on Nico to propose – or at least to thinking about proposing.
For her sake, I hope not. They’ve only dated for roughly 6 months; it makes her seem desperate.

Methinks her family is trying to put the pressure on him: If they break up, it will be because he is “unwilling to commit” leaving Pippa free to trade up.

When you see someone close to you, i.e. in Pippa’s case her sister, get married and start a family it places peer pressure on you to do the same. I hope she is not rushing to get married because of peer pressure from her family or the press attention. Six months? Not long enough to know a guy in my opinion. You really never know a person but I think she should date him a bit longer to really see his actions. If its all about marrying up then she may put up with whatever from this guy just like her sister. Both are earth signs (sigh).
I’m pretty sure she confirmed this via her official twitter account, so I don’t think it’s a secret…supposedly they got engaged in June. Seems pretty quick IMO.
Good for her. Nico comes across as attention-hungry himself, so they won’t have a problem showing up to media events and posing together, living in London, etc.
Her other exes don’t crave the limelight that Pippa is desperate to have. Nico is perfect for her: they’re the same version of each other, down to the fake tanning.

I like her dress, but I’m baffled why the press continues to push her as the next coming. She isn’t. She’s a socialite trying to get a hubby. Unless she’s dating another royal, she’ll always be “lesser” than her sister.

Pippa is the family failure. Even if Nico is cute, rich and orange, she was playing the long game for George Percy and his dukedom. The same game Waity played for oh so many years with William–successfully. Alas, Pippa failed to bag her big prize so she is settling before her rapidly diminishing shelf life expires completely. I genuinely thought that this sort of talk or even distinction had died down. Lots of aristos/upperclasses were watering down eg Rupert Everett or pretending to be mockneys (pretend cockney) eg Guy Ritchie. Then up pop the Middletons to reverse the trend.
And the irony of course is the William/Harry have watered down their class so they can appeal to regular people which helps in their ‘normal’ image push.

I actually feel bad for her? That’s weird. I don’t know why. Fellow virgo comraderie, I guess. I think the british press is psychotic. She and the cute boyfriend should come to America. We love capitalists and opportunists of all kinds. Honestly, if she lands this guy, who is rich, cuter than will, and doesn’t come with royal obligations, I wouldn’t think she’d have any reason to be jealous of her sis.

I expect she’ll try to sell her wedding photos via the Middleton’s paparazzi agent, so as to cover up that truly she’s the one profiting from the release of the photos.
These Middletons make me want to check that we aren’t living in Jane Austen country.
I suppose they ARE taking marriage back to it’s original purpose which was property and security and the begating of heirs, but it seems so limited in terms of life options.

So they were poised to announce in July but waited until George arrived and have been dating for 6 moths, that means they got engaged 3 or 4 months after the relationship started. A little bit rushed?
Perhaps it is a match made in heaven, I’m getting a social climber vibe from the groom to be as well, it certainly wouldn’t do his career any harm to be the brother-in-law of William would it?
That Nico guy looks a bit shady to me, I can’t put my finger on it, but maybe he’s a nice guy? I think Pippa should forge a solid career before settling down with Nico. She shouldn’t be in such a rush to get married.

Pippa and her lawyers have shut down the articles in the British press which were announcing this. I think it is safe to say that this “announcement” was made up by the tabloids – the same as lots of other news about Pippa has been over the last two years. No reason to think that every article on Pippa comes from the “Middleton camp”. They ain’t that all powerful.
She does not have an official twitter by the way.
The girl works fast. Seems like only a couple of months ago she was in Paris with the guy who aimed a gun at a pap.
