Dina Lohan’s Long Island mansion is facing foreclosure yet again, of course

September just hasn’t been Dina Lohan’s month. First she got arrested and charged with a DUI (and a speeding charge). Then Dina’s cracked-out daughter, flush with Oprah money, unceremoniously threw her under the bus. And now it looks like Dina’s Long Island mansion is definitely facing foreclosure. Dina’s mansion – and it IS a mansion! – has been in trouble before, several times before. But someone (Lindsay or one of the Lohan Family’s many “wealthy benefactors”) always paid off Dina’s debts enough for her to keep her house for a little while longer. I doubt that is going to happen again:

Dina Lohan should think about putting a lawyer on retainer, because she has a new legal problem — a bank has filed a lawsuit to foreclose on her Long Island house.

Dina has had problems falling behind on her mortgage payments for years now, but apparently it has reached critical mass.

JP Morgan Chase Bank filed the foreclosure action, according to the Long Island Press. The process is complicated. Dina can pull this one out of the fire by settling with the bank.

Dina has salvaged her home in the past. TMZ broke the story … Lindsay bailed her out last year by fronting her mom 40k for the crib.

And this is interesting … Dina was served with foreclosure docs 2 weeks before she was popped for DUI.

[From TMZ]

It’s easy for any of us to put ourselves in Lindsay’s position and think to ourselves, “Yeah, let Dina deal with it on her own – she made her bed, etc.” But here’s the thing: if Dina becomes “homeless,” where do you think she’s going to go? First she’ll go to a bar to get hammered. Then she’ll go to Lindsay and Ali’s apartment and drunkenly pass out on their couch, and then she’ll just never leave. So, while the short-term solution might be “let Dina deal with her own financial mess,” you do have to wonder: what’s it worth to Lindsay to have her mom out of her hair?

I thought Lindsay (and probably Ali) was living/staying in a hotel on Oprah’s dime. When Oprah’s grace/cash period is over (and LL’s sober coach stops being paid by OWN), where will any of them go?

    • Hakura says:

@Cool Phosphorescent Shimmer – Whenever I read about them recently, it said LiLo had gone to live w/her sister Ali (Whom they describe as being a ‘model’…) I could only assume, given that the apartment is considered Ali’s, that maybe she’s working enough to support herself? (Maybe wishful thinking, but it’d be so nice if at least *1* of the Lohan spawn managed to be successful at something).

Will someone explain how she owes money on a home she’s lived in forever? Did she take loans against it? Does she have any income at all? Who keeps the lights & heat on? I realize these are mundane questions, but that’s how the rest of us live? So she hasn’t made any payment since the 40grand? Wow!

    • Christin says:

I guess some people view buying clothes, eating out and partying as higher priorities than a boring ole mortgage payment. Wonder if she’s missed any hair or manicure appointments in all those months?

      • NerdMomma says:

Exactly. She’s got her hair extensions and fake tan all set, but didn’t pay the mortgage. Lindsay should set her up in a double- wide trailer in rural Georgia. It’d cost the same as bailing her out and she’d own it outright.

    • Hautie says:

I keep wondering the same thing.

How can this house not be paid off. Did she take out a big fat equity loan against it? And that is what keeps coming up.

Or Dina is the dumbest person alive.

And never paid the house off, when Lindsay had those checks coming in on the regular.

But lets be real. If the home was to suddenly get paid off. Dina would be out there immediately putting another loan against it, for the cash.

      • gg says:

You just answered your own question. 🙂 She’s certainly not going to pass up one single opportunity for shopping and traveling, is she? ‘Everybody’s jealous, I mean, look at me – I’m living the American dream …’, said she.

    Water: still wet

In my state, a mortgage is at least 90 days delinquent before legal docs are filed. If she has little or no equity and no income, then she has few options in terms of qualifying for a new loan on a downsized place.

It’s amazing that people outside the family would be willing to repeatedly bail her out of these self-created messes. In a few months, it will likely be the same story. No payments, then legal action unless she pays up.

  5. Mrs. Ari Gold says:

She has pimped out Lindsay her whole life – how else do you think she got a ‘mansion’ in the first place? Very sad.

    • ncmagnolia says:

Yeah, it couldn’t happen to a nicer person.

There is a special place in hell for parents who pimp out and live off of their children. *cough* (I’m looking and YOU Trish and Billy Ray Cyrus). This news really makes me wonder how Lindsay’s little bro is gonna turn out. Both parents are wack.

      • TG says:

Add Britney Spears parents to that. I don’t think they did their daughter any favors when she was younger and now her father is most certainly pimping her out.

  6. dorothy says:

    Karma.

  7. IceQueen says:

    What else is “new”?

  8. Bess says:

This couldn’t happen to a more deserving person lol!

  9. Maddie says:

Well I guess its time to get a job Dina and support yourself and your kids.

Lindsey is not making bank anymore to support your hard drinking crazy self anymore.

  10. lovegossip says:

She still has a minor child at home. That’s all I care about. She should too! I know, I know…….but still, where is he going to go? His Dad? HA! Lindsay’s floor because “Mom” has the couch? Sad. :-(:-(

  11. Decloo says:

That’s a “mansion?” Looks pretty middle class tacky to me. Property values are high on Long Island but Melville is pretty blue-collar.

  12. Susan says:

Well, as someone with a deadbeat drunk for a mother, here’s my advice for LL:

Cut her out of your life for good if she wants to keep being a drunk/drug addict/liar/insert other negative deviance here.

Yeah, maybe that’s cold-hearted, but clearly this woman is a very bad influence on her life. Even if someone is family, there comes a point where you cut em off. That includes not letting them turn your home into a flop house. Cause if you don’t cut em off, they just continue their effed-up behavior at your expense.

  13. grabbyhands says:

Unfortunately, someone will bail this loser out of the mess she’s created. Worse, it will probably be her daughter.

    • Montréalise says:

Sadly, Lindsay has been supporting / bailing out her mother for the past 15 years (what ever happened to the $40,000 she gave her mother last year?) If she bails her out again, Dina will be back in a few months time with her hand out, asking for yet another handout to avoid foreclosure, and then back again a few months after that.

  14. Garrett says:

She deserves it. And it’s time Dina to get a job and pay your bills like everyone else. You and your has been of a daughter quit acting like some college sluts for once.

  15. Hmm says:

This woman is a perfect example of why our economy is so fked up-delusional people living above their means. She probably hasn’t earned a single dollar in years but she’ll still go shopping, eat at the best resteraunts, live in a $1.3 million home, etc etc. I bet she even has a maid who never gets paid on time. Drunk and delusional!

  16. bettyrose says:

Does she still have underage children living in that home? What happens to them?

  17. UsedToBeLulu says:

What the hell does she need a MANSION for anyway, for God’s sake? Surely she can scrape money up enough to rent a townhouse for her and the kids still at home. It would be the best thing for her.

  18. Mary Jane says:

That is neither a “mansion” nor e’en a “McMansion.” It is called a “hi-ranch” and my folks live in one in the same area (about 1/4 mile away). My folks’ place is on a corner lot (about 1/3 acre — alot of land there), phenomenally landscaped by my Mom (it’s a freaking park!), yet not worth a million. I don’t know how this woman is missing payments. My dad is a taxi driver in NYC…

    • bettyrose says:

Mary Jane – My guess would be that a taxi driver -especially in Manhattan (and they’re unionized, no?) makes a more consistent wage than a professional cokehead/famewhore.

  19. Shelly says:

Dina needs to get a J-O-B like everyone else and earn her own money. I mean, how does she even get money? I’m assuming she has lived off of her daughter for the last 15 years, since I’ve never heard of her having a job. I suppose that Ali probably gives her money, too, since she probably makes an ok living as a model. Dina is disgusting.

  20. Frida_K says:

Her bright white chiclet teeth and chicken fat yellow hair clash with her crepey, liver-spotted skin and droopy armpits.

    • bryce says:

      @ Frida_K:
LMFAO !!!! OMG – you took the words right outta my mouth! Holy shit, SOOOO true!!
Totally rolling on the floor, so funny!!!! LOVE IT

  21. bryce says:

I agree, even if it was paid off, Dina would screw it up by not paying prop. taxes or by taking a loan out straight away!
I personally vote for downsizing to a town-home or better yet, a double-wide somewhere warm, …like say, Nevada?!

  22. Jo says:

That is a nice house, but it sets a pretty low bar to be called a mansion. I mean, really, its facade is vinyl siding.

  23. lucy2 says:

Uh oh – and she’s run out of daughters to pimp! What’s she going to do now???

If Lindsay bails her out, Dina isn’t going to just go away. That woman will have her hand out till the day she dies.
