Over the weekend, legit UK newspaper The Telegraph had a report which basically said that Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas are definitely headed for marriage. Cressida – Cressie or Cressy, as Harry calls her – is only 24 and she has tried to avoid letting this relationship turn into something serious. By most accounts, it’s Harry pushing Cressida for a serious relationship and Harry is now pushing for an engagement and marriage. And now we’ve come to the point in their relationship where outside forces – the UK and American media – are trying to pressure this couple into declaring their intentions. People Mag tried to do this with Kate and William too, but it still took nine long years of Waitying. Will Harry and Cressida drag it out that long?
She’s young, gorgeous, well-bred – and she has captured Prince Harry’s heart.
Cressida Bonas, 24, is “really sweet, easy to talk to and really funny,” her former dance school classmate Becci Whelan tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story.
Since being introduced in July 2012 by Harry’s cousin – and Bonas’s close friend – Princess Eugenie, the pair, who have recently taken their year-long romance into the spotlight, have become “very serious,” says a family source.
The daughter of a socialite mother and wealthy entrepreneur father, “Cressy” (as she is widely known to friends and family) shares a love of adventure, indie rock and late-night clubbing with the longtime playboy prince, 29.
Says the family source: “They are quite perfect for each other.”

The royal conspiracy theory going around is that Kate doesn’t care for Cressida, just as she didn’t care for Chelsy Davy. Kate didn’t “get” why Chelsy would want a career and Kate didn’t understand how Chelsy couldn’t focus all of her energy on chasing the big prize: the ring! As for Cressida… she’s young, she’s beautiful, she’s blonde and she’s very close with the York princesses. Oh, and Cressida’s half-sister Isabella is the girl that William really wanted to be with but Isabella rejected him. So… I think Kate will have some feelings if Harry does want to marry Cressida and if the engagement comes so soon in their relationship – Cressy and Harry have only been together about a year and a half and that’s with some “time apart” and Harry’s second tour of duty in Afghanistan. Kate probably feels like “marrying a prince” requires way more waitying. We’ll see.

I think she seems “boring” to some because she does a very nice job with keeping her private life private and so does her family. They’re already well off and do not need to publicize their close proximity to a prince. Instead, Cressida, Harry, and her family seem to be exercising an attribute called “class”.

I know some people and according to them, they only actually became a couple this past January before than it wasnt serious and they were both seeing other people as well. So yea, I doubt they are that serious.

I think it’d be very interesting to see how the press spins this posh “bohemian” in relation to darling Kate. And Harry is by far the most beloved member of the royal family outside of the queen.

One of my fave all time movies is The Thing Called Love. I remember being so jealous of Samantha Mathis, I might just have to go home tonight to watch it.
I LOVE that movie, made sure to order a copy a few years ago. And yes, I wanted to be Samantha Mathis in that movie. Sandra Bullock was super cute in it too.

She’s not princess material. There is no way this young girl can withstand the scrutiny and attention. If they do marry it will be a total disaster.
How can we know?
Harry is the spare and that leaves him some slack in responsibilities (even though he works like he’s the heir). That will go for his wife too. They will be the couple that will possibly be attacked to make the heir and his wife look like gold as has been happening with William and Harry for their lives.
Parallels between Cressida and Diana can be drawn as far as upbringing and lifestyle, but Cressida has education under her belt along with a passion and 5 years so far on Diana. She also has the palace post Diana and they are more aware of how to handle her.
I think if a marriage happens she and Harry will outshine W &K. Likely not in the papers so William is not out staged, but in total hours logged with charities and duties.
With that said I don’t think Kate has withstood the scrutiny she’s gotten and she’s much older with years of dating a royal under her belt. She seems unaware of her Duchess Dolittle title and spends more time living at her parent’s home than with her husband. It’s a tough job and a position I would personally never want to be in, but apples to apples I would think overall Cressida would be a better fit.
So, he can marry her and then spend 20 years still in love with Chelsy, the “one who got away”. Sounds appropriate.

As much as I liked Chelsy she would’ve been a disaster as a royal. She is not royal material, she was too care free and don’t give a dam about public opinion which is a big no no for a royal, not to mention her disastrous and tacky dressing sense.

She seems harmless and I have nothing against her, but she interferes with my fantasy that Harry chooses an intelligent, feisty blue collar career girl who can hold her own and be beloved by the people. Bill and Kate´s “official image” is super boring and not newsworthy for the press. Daily Mail and Co. don´t want to anger the Royals with stories about how lazy and spoilt the “Future of the Monarchy” really is. They are afraid the Royals deny photos etc. in future if they criticize the Widdletons and so they only hint a little bit…

I think she is very pretty as is her sister. It does take more than a pretty face and club going to make a relationship work.

I don’t think he married Kate because Isabella rejected him either. However, I do think that had Isabella not rejected him, Kate would have been history.

Florc: Isabella’s passion is acting – that’s her big thing. She’s gotten a ton more play (and press exposure) out of being ‘the girl who rejected William” than if she’d just been another girl that dated him on a break with Kate. You guys are absolutely welcome to not like Kate, but it doesn’t exactly mean that every other well-bred woman is a charity-working saint. They can’t all be Jecca Craig.

I like her, because she doesn´t try hard to be the girlfriend of a Prince. I don´t think she wants to marry him. She comes across as the bohemian/ artistic kind of girl. She´s from rich background and can live her dancer-dream as long as she can. There is no need for a marriage and especially not with 24 years. The 20s are the best time for a dancing career.
She´s no try-hard socialite and i think that´s what Harry likes.
If Cressida does marry into The Firm, they need to get her some fashion sense, Stat!

I find it so funny that people know almost nothing about her, or their relationship or how she influences him and yet they ithink they are not right for each other. She is only seen a handful of times with him and maybe due to her mother’s unstable romantic life she is more mature then her age? Or maybe because she is a trained dancer she might actually have a great work ethics?
What really stands out for me is how completely different Harry come off with her. Maybe it’s because of the Vegas incident or how media hounded Chelsy and eventually scared her away, he is treating this relationship completely differently. He is very private and secretive and this alone makes me think he is serious about her and trying to learn from his past relationship and trying to make sure media treats her better.
What always bothered me about Kate is not that she didn’t have a career because not everyone have to ambitious, what bothered me was that she had no self respect, life independent of William or beyond him, no friends of her own etc. Cressida seem to have a life, friends, interests and she doesn’t come off desperate, so she is very refreshing for me. I’d like to see how they influence each other and how she handle herself in this relationship before writing them off but that’s just my opinion.

I like her. She dresses like a 20-something boho aristo dancer in london. Trainers, scrunchies, edgy but not revealing cool girl outfits. She wears what she likes.
Compare this to Kate with her matchy matchy outfits, boring shoes, prissy coats and Disney princess hair. Like she aspires to be queen of pottery barn.
Maybe if Cressida becomes the official girlfriend or fiancée, we’ll actually see something interesting from a fashion perspective.
