David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reunited over the weekend for a 20th anniversary event celebrating The X-Files at The Paley Center. You know what? I think, for the X-Files fans out there like me, that we wouldn’t get so happy and excited to see Gillian and David reunite if they weren’t still so damn attractive. I mean, look at them! Both of them have aged, of course, but Gillian is still so beautiful and damn it, I would still bang Mulder. Anyway, just look at them. I love that they still like each other. I love that it still feels like they’re in each other’s lives and they still enjoy each other’s company. I can’t believe it’s been 20 years.
So it should come as no shock that David and Gillian confirmed this weekend that they would both come back for another X-Files movie, and that Chris Carter is working on a script as we speak. Is this lame? Is it weird or lame or budget that David and Gillian would revisit these characters (likely with a handsome paycheck) just because neither has a lot going on these days? David said: “All the principals are on board… Gillian and I want to do it, so it’s really up to 20th Century Fox at this point.” The last movie bombed, but I think if they tried to reboot the franchise in an interesting way with another film, it could be successful. Maybe old-married-couple Mulder and Scully could teach a pair of young FBI agents how to search for aliens? Costarring Benedict Cumberbatch as The Lizard Hybrid and Tilda Swinton as The Alien Goddess.

I loved Tea Leoni, but David blew the marriage because of his sexual internet and porn addiction, so sad. I think they did try and give it another shot, but do not think it worked for them. David went to rehab and who knows, he may have a lifelong addiction wanting to have sex with other women or online. When I first knew of this, it really changed my view of him, but I guess it’s like any other addiction. I’m not sure you’d want to be married to someone with this affliction.
There was an AWESOME rumor a while ago that they had gotten together. I think more than another X-Files movie, I would love to see an official Anderson-Duchovony coupling.
I don’t know about the kids stuff or them being married but it wouldn’t surprise me if they were dating. I haven’t heard them linked to anyone else since their respective break-ups. Which was a while ago….

Isn’t Gillian Anderson doing a fair amount these days, what with her work on Hannibal and British TV? (She did a good crime miniseries that came out early 2013, I think, but I’m blanking on the title – “The Fall”?)
Yeah, precisely! I think Gillian is doing a lot of TV these days – she’s Hannibal’s therapist, she was in “The Fall” with Jamie Dornan that was brilliant and will return with a second season. Plus, she’s in sth new about to come soon, just forgot the title (“Crisis?). Mulder is a different story though, I believe his series “Californication” is coming to an end now? (last season received terrible reviews).
I love X-Files and I love them together! I wish the rumour of them hooking up were true!
yeah, they’ve been together for awhile now, and I think the latest is that they are living together. Oh and supposedly, one of her kids is biologically his.

It’s amazing! I’ve been a fan for years…love both of them and I hope they don’t try to ‘reboot’ the x-files. They need to continue it on, but there is no way I’d watch if the leads weren’t mulder and scully
I would watch any reboot, origin story, offshoot, whatever, related to the X-Files.

Umm Gillian has movies/shows out this year and next, and David still has Californication…not exactly desperate for work. I think it’s nice that they would come back and they are not biting the hand that fed them. It can be like Veronica Mars all over again….that show was cancelled but has a huge fanbase. X-files should probably do a mini series instead of a movie though.
As popular as sci-fi has gotten over the last decade. I am surprise that FOX had not rebooted X-Files for TV.
Maybe do a 6-10 episode season. Run it during the Summer or when one of their new shows tank. And need a filler that can pull ratings.
For me the best X-Files were the stand alone episodes. Where they solved their case every week.
And I have seen that first movie. Dozens of times. I loved that they blew up downtown Dallas in it!

I think that she is a lot more attractive now than when she was younger. I was never into her, well either of them actually, when the show was on. She gave me the same sort of vibe that I get from Kristen Stewart now, except that she seemed cleaner…

I was never much of an X-files fan, but there is just something about her face that I have always been fascinated with, especially wihen she has her red hair. I’m a redhead too, which I hated most of my life, so it’s always wonderful to see beautiful ginger actresses. A (small) part of the reason I named my ginger baby Jillian is because because of Gillian Anderson. 🙂
She had the most amazing eye make up in the show as well. It went really well with her red hair. I thought she was beautiful.

It’s a shock that it’s been twenty years! I loved that show, still love it & still watch it sometimes.
But a third movie? I don’t think I would go out of my way to see it. I don’t know why they can’t make a decent movie–I thought they were both weak.
They look pretty good. But I don’t know why Gillian Armstrong wants pale blonde hair that makes her face look blank. She is gorgeous with darker hair. Just my tuppence.
I really recommend The Fall. It’s available on Netflix and stars Gillian Anderson as a detective investigating a series of rapes/murders in Belfast.

I’m sure by my username you can tell I’m a fan! Love the show and the first movie (hated the second one), but personally I think they should’ve ended it after five seasons. From season six onwards it just didn’t have the same feel, and got worse and worse as the series dragged on. The could’ve ended with the movie then maybe done a second one to tie up any loose ends.
Gillian Anderson has aged incredibly well, she looks stunning. Far younger than her 45 years.
No no noooo, then we wouldn’t have gotten The Unnatural, The Goldeberg Variation, Milagro, Closure… a long list of great ones that came after. Season 5 seemed like the nail in the coffin, but it would have been a bad way to end the series, imo. The whole movie would have had to have been different if it acted as the finale after the finale, and I wouldn’t mess with FTF.

They are both working pretty steadily -she was in a long story arc in Hannibal and in The Fall and has been several other BBC shows. He was in a couple of movies in post-production and of course there is still californication.

Not a lot going on? I don’t know about David Duchovny but Gillian Anderson has been in plenty of stuff recently: Hannibal, The Fall (really really good show btw). So I don’t think it’s necessarily about money, at least for her. Maybe they just want to work together again?
Gillian Anderson is really one of those people who actually gets MORE attractive as she gets older. Like, there are about six people on the planet you can say that about, but she’s really one of those lucky few. She was always super-pretty but now she’s just balls-to-the-wall stunning in my opinion.

He seemed to know more about the production than she did. He also asked us to wish happy birthday to Chris, who’s birthday was yesterday, and he shot on his cell phone.
He also said they never saw Mulder and Scully as a romantic couple. But watching the videos fans post online with romantic songs make sense, he said: “I get it now”.

Can they just finally ignore freaking aliens and government conspiracies? That’s why movies failed, why show was losing it’s popularity in last seasons. Best episodes of X Files are the one that don’t feature aliens, government, Mulders family, smocker man and all those stuff. The best ones are with monster of the week in them.
I was so tired with all those alines, who exist one episode, then it’s fake and evil government is behind it, then they are real again. Eventually I lost any track with those aliens and conspiracies. And stopped to even try to understand what is happening. And X Files become boring. I still don’t understand what happened and how it finished.
If they want to do another movie then they should create some monsters or ghosts. Evil ghosts are very popular now. X Files could create new franchise with releasing new movie every 2 years. If they would forget about aliens and conspiracies and focus on creepy monsters.

Their next movie needs to be on par with “Jose Chung’s From Outer Space,” “Post-Modern Prometheus,” “Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose,” or “Small Potatoes.” A couple weekends ago I was at Disneyland on the Haunted Mansion ride, when it stalled in the graveyard. I almost freaked out when I saw a headstone which reads “Memento Mori.”
I love the X-Files though I became a fan years after the show went off the air (I was too young to watch the show when it was on tv, too scary. I think I was about four or five when it first premiered on tv!). But I think even the die-hard XF fans will admit, the last movie was terrible! The plot didn’t make any sense, I found it was far-fetched, even for XF. I can’t even remember what it was about!
Someone mentioned the idea of a mini-series. I think the format of XF just works better on tv. Maybe a made-for-tv movie. But a movie with a theatrical release? Not so much, it builds up expectations!
