I was gearing up to write this Selena Gomez post last night with these photos in my mind. I thought, “Wow! She looks sexy but not sleazy here.” The pictures are from a Flaunt magazine event a few weeks ago that got lost in the holiday shuffle. Selena looks great. I was so swayed by these pictures that I was prepared to laugh off a big story in this week’s Enquirer about how Selena’s been taking Miley Cyrus’ street drug of choice, Molly.
Then I saw the really bad news. TMZ has photos of Selena and Justin Bieber riding segways together near his home in Calabasas. She took his swaggy ass back after all of brothel stuff and other gross Bieber doings. What the hell, Selena? Now I might believe anything. Here’s that story from the Enquirer:
Squeaky-clean starlet Selena Gomez suffered a bizarre public meltdown, suddenly canced an international tour and crashed her SUV in single vehicle accident — leaving fans wondering what has happened to the former Disney darling.
Now, in a blockbuster Enquirer exclusive, a close source reveals that the 21-year-old singer/actress secretly used drugs!
Selena, who reportedly dumped her boyfriend Justin Bieber over his alleged drug use — has been seen taking the street drug “Molly.”
The bombshell was delivered by the source — concerned that Selena is spiraling out of control — who gives the Enquirer a first hand eyewitness account of the young entertainer using Molly at a party over the summer.
Selena also attended a recent 12-step meeting with her close friend Demi Lovato, who did a rehab stint in 2010, although Selena’s representative said she was there only to support Demi.
“I don’t know whether Justin Bieber pushed her to take Molly or whether she started using it through peer pressure,” said the source, who has passed a polygraph test, told the Enquirer in a world exclusive interview. Nonetheless, “Selena Gomez is wisely trying to help herself stay off Molly.
Molly is an illegal stimulant made from the main chemical in the so-called “sex drug” Ecstasy. But experts say Molly — which is often taken in powdered form — is more potent and can cause seizures, hypothermia, heart problems, comas and even death. It can also lead to more serious problems like cocaine and heroin addiction.
Despite the dangers of the drug, Selena used Molly at a private house party in the Hollywood Hills this past summer, according to source. “Justin was at the same party, but I didn’t see him using drugs that night,” the source told the Enquirer.
“I was more focused on Selena because, up to that point, I didn’t know she took drugs. But she clearly knew what she was doing. This certainly wasn’t her first time ‘rolling’ (the term Molly users refer to getting high).”
Although Selena’s representative denied that she ever used Molly, the source said: “She ingested less than agram of the drug in a bottle of water, which is one of the most common ways of doing it. She was also drinking. I saw champagne, whisky and Grey Goose (vodka) at the party.”
Selena had previously been spotted hanging around with self-confessed cocaine-abuser Donatella Versace at Fashion Week in Milan, Italy.

I don’t know whether this story is true, but it’s somewhat believable and does steadily chip away at Selena’s good-girl image. Frankly I am flabbergasted at seeing Selena with Justin again and might believe anything about her today. She thought she was out, and he pulled her back in. Bieber has some Godfather-grade pull. What a shame.
In other Selena news, there’s some talk of her tour cancellation. Selena’s team hasn’t confirmed this yet, but some outlets are saying she suffers from lupus and had a big flare up. So it makes sense that she’d cancel some concerts, but it never makes sense that Justin Bieber would be good for her downtime.

Blind Gossip did a very detailed piece just a few days ago that was very obviously about Selena and Selena alone.
In it they wrote that recent reports about her suffering from Lupus or any other illness are incredibly incorrect though her recent career break WAS about getting well as she recently realized that she was taking in too much “liquid and powder” (ha) and wanted to get help and put an end to that properly before it got too out of hand.
Selena herself seems harmless enough but Justin Bieber is SUCH a douche (and for the love of God, someone please stop letting him purchase defenseless animals!) and he for sure is no one good for her to be around, especially now if the report is true đ Their situation is really staring to sound like world’s most uninteresting broken record…
BG also said that she definitely wasn’t back with her ex, which … er … well … the photos don’t seem to support that.
I’m not blaming her; I’ve always been firmly of the opinion that it’s hard to shake your first love, no matter how douchey. But now I’m wondering if BG was wrong about this, how much else was he wrong about?

As you and a few other commenters have mentioned, shaking one’s first love completely is always hard. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt here and think that she and Biebs were really just hanging out that day without it meaning anything more (there were quite a few other ppl in the pic riding with them so maybe they really were just having some group/friend fun together).
JSJ had a blind about Selena recently too. It exactly the same as the Blind Gossip blind – she’s doing drugs and cannot shake off her feelings for the Beiber. It was incredibly sad. She is a beautiful girl, and while I understand the pain of losing your “first love”, it’s friggin’ Justin Beiber for crying out loud! He’s a joke – it’s mind boggling to me that a beautiful young woman like her could EVER see something worthwhile in that little turd. Anyway, if she really does have lupus, I feel terrible because I’ve speculated before whether or not she has bulimia (the puffy face, which can also be from lupus) :(.
I saw that as well. However, I take issue with the idea that someone would cancel a tour to prevent something from getting out of hand. That is waaaaaaay too much money to cancel a tour (and waste all of the planning that has already been done) for an issue that isn’t a “problem” yet. IMO, it has to be a significant problem for a tour to be cancelled.
Agree Tiffany. She’s not big enough to get that kind of treatment for something not yet out of hand, never mind the $ loss. I think it’s a drug issue and of course, Bieber has the same issue so they still hang together.

Went on Twitter, there’s a picture of these two together, hanging out with friends. This is bad news if she’s back together with him, its going to worsen her drug and alcohol problems. Problem is if she is, as much as her friends/family were to try and stop her seeing him, she’s going to rebel and see him to pi*s them off even more. I hope to god she and Demi see sense and dump these losers. I have to admit I have a spot for both Demi and Selena. They deserve better. Generally speaking, It’s ashame when you see bright ladies shacked up with douches.
There have been rumors for YEARS that Selena is not the innocent she portrays. I have read gossip blogs about the competition and enmity between Selena and Vanessa Huygens for the past two or three years. Vanessa has complained that she got a bad rep and Selena was the one who actually has no compunction sleeping around, stealing boyfriends and using drugs. She gets away with it because she has a baby face. I don’t know if any of that is true or not. I do believe her management has been very slick about how she is portrayed.

The gossip I read did not come from CDAN. I agree that over the past year it has been a load of crap but what I read about Selena came from blogs I read prior to my being aware of CDAN. Based on her continuing her relationship with Bieber stains her reputation and definitely raises flags about her ‘innocence.’ I believe being around him raises her ‘Q’ factor which if I recall correctly is a measure of the publics awareness of celebrities. He also gets the benefit of the doubt because people seem to think that his antics even when PROVEN otherwise (peeing in the mop bucket? numberous pics posted by Bieber himself showing drugs or drug use? @Naomi – You raise a very good point, in regards to what they *both* get publicity-wise, out of being seen together. I don’t think HALF as many people would even have a CLUE who Selena was, without Pissbucket as her boyfriend. I don’t say that to be mean, but when I first heard of her, it was always referring to her as ‘Bieber’s girlfriend’.
His fans would watch her, because she was with him, & at the time, he was an extremely big star. People always put celebrities on a pedestal, then always act shocked when they find out that they’re not really ‘their image’. It’s all *business*, anyone with any common sense knows that.

I believe that very few famous people are ‘innocent’, even if they started out that way. Fame and money give a person more access to things they want to try. I don’t have a problem with her experimenting at all, but it must be bothersome to feel compelled to present yourself as ‘innocent’. Selena has alluded to ‘making mistakes’ and doing ‘typical teen stuff’ (her words), but being glad that they’re not out in the open because she also wants to be seen as a ‘good role model’ and wanting her mom to be proud of her. I just hope she’s not struggling with anything life-threatening- like some of the stuff Demi went through.
And it’s hard to imagine someone who’s famous in their own right and over the age of 16 seeing Bieber as someone worthy of hanging on to for publicity, but she does keep going back to him. I wonder if she thinks she can fix him somehow.

Selena came to Toronto a couple of years ago. She was very sick, but still showed up and lip synched her entire fifty minute show. My daughter begged me for months to buy her a ticket. $162.00 for lip syching. I believe Selena has some genuine mental health and or health problems. JUSTIN is her douchey security blanket.

Scenario 1: Selena cancelled her tour because there is something wrong with her health that she needs to take care of.
Scenario 2: Tour cancelled because it wasn’t selling that well and she went back to Beiber because he’s more famous than she is and she feels like she needs that.
Scenario 3: Selena cancelled due to the early stages of a drug habit and wants to “hang out and recuperate” i.e. do drugs with Beiber and company.
I seriously hope it isn’t drugs, I really reallly do.

I am so tired of “Molly” being sold as the pure form of ecstasy. It isn’t! The name is just a marketing ploy, it is just as much of a guessing game as to what is in it as ecstasy (or meth for that matter) . I read one report where they tested hundreds of samples, and one of the only common ingredients among what was sold as “molly” was methanphetamine.
I heard they’ve even found disgusting, toxic substances like *drain/bathroom cleaner* mixed in. Its downright dangerous to take *anything* anymore, youhave no way to know there isnt poison or some other, more addictive substance mixed in (which would cause you to think you were addicted to the molly, thus have to buy more, and if you bought from someone else, the real drug you need woudnt be in it, which means you’d go back to the person you bought it from before everytime (who’d lie and say their product s ‘just more pure and effective’ than other’s, instead of telling you whats Really in it).
People carelessly place too much trust in people who only care about the money. They don’t even consider the risk of putting something unknown in their body, which, when you get down to it, is the only and most precious thing we have.
You can buy drug testing kits. Well you can here in Australia. The tests come with a legend that give you an idea of how “safe” the ecstasy is after you’ve conducted your little science experiment. I’d like to know when ecstasy became the “sex drug”?
@TheNood – I didn’t think about that; but I’m sure there’s somewhere (possibly ‘underground’, I don’t know, bc the drugs themselves are illegal, if that makes the test kit illegal (given you wouldn’t buy one unless you were considering using or selling the illegal drugs, I assume).
It’s definitely a good idea. But I think *most* people who use this sort of recreational ‘happy drug’ (as Miley referred to it in an interview), either A). Don’t know about the test kit/where to get one, B). Think theres no real risk or don’t care, or C). Take the drugs impulsively (either at other’s behest or) while already under the influence of another substance like alcohol (Which cuts down on risk assessment altogether). I really wish people were smarter about these things.

In the clinic I work at everyone swears up and down they get the “real” stuff, but there is no “real stuff”. It’s a guessing game, exactly, but it is extremely dangerous. In my area more deaths have been attributed to “Molly” than heroin. And as a point if interest to me I get a kick out of people who are famous or have loads of money who think they are getting the best drugs from honest dealers. My position (pretty unconventional) allows me to move pretty freely through the community, and I’ve had plenty of dealers laugh about giving them the worst stuff. It’s horrifying. You can still sell a “great” bag of whatever and have it cut with incredibly dangerous things.

Annie, it’s always sad to me when I see females basing other females’ worth as human beings on their sexual purity. I hope you don’t go around criticizing guys for being misogynistic- or criticizing misogyny in any other way. The fact that you believe that how ‘pure’ a woman is or appears to be should determine whether or not she is treated well, and whether or not she is a ‘quality’ shows that your own self-esteem as a woman probably isn’t any higher than Selena’s.
I think she knows that she doesn’t have much to offer to the public in terms of entertainment, she realizes she is limited in the talents that she is thrust into. The going was good when she was a child artist because no one really expects child artists to do heavy acting. They just have to be themselves. Her run is possibly up (unless up and coming directors decide to cast her so as to make the most of her popularity) and now she needs someone to survive here. She need a fanbase. No! I learned my lesson after the D-bag cheated on me ( caught him with a hickey). I did take him back after he profoundly appologized with tears and all. However, a few months later I walked away and never looked back! He was also an ahole in other ways. Not saying it was easy though. That was an eye opening lesson in self-respect for me. My mother was there to encourage me and helped me see the truth. I owe it to her. And I had some awesome friends too for support. I feel so lucky to have had such great support system and love. Which brings me to these questions. Does Selena have a support system? Is Selena’s mother advising her and helping her get out of this bad relationship? What about her friends? Maybe they are but she is stubborn? Or just Dumb? Sad situation.

It’s an interesting thought, considering that Selena’s mother just had another baby (I can’t remember if the father is Selena’s, or her step-father). After being an only child her whole life, & now already an adult not living at home, maybe this caused her to experience difficult feelings about the change (although in photos shared with a magazine, she appeared genuinely happy to have a baby sister. But there’s no denying the family dynamic would have changed, & it’s normal to feel unsettled or insecure bc of that.
She always gave the impression she was close to her family. I do hope it’s not family related, if she’s strugglig with substance abuse, she’ll definitely need their support.
I don’t understand what she sees in Bieber but I think we all don’t understand it! I also can’t stand her music randomly. It makes even Britney’s voice sound genuine and that’s saying something.

Maybe my opinion is skewed since I’m in college, but taking molly every once in a while at a party or a rave or whatever doesn’t seem like the end of the world. I don’t personally dabble in drugs but I have plenty of friends who do, and they’re all high-functioning, serious students with who like to blow of steam when they can.
I don’t think it’s fair to say Selena is “spiraling out of control” when she’s just doing what MILLIONS of college kids her age are doing, just in a more public setting. Now, if she was engaging in epic, dangerous public meltdowns like LiLo has been, that’d be a different story.
The fact that “millions” of college students are choosing to mess with their minds and their bodies doesn’t make it right. Calling them “high- functioning” speaks volumes, as that term would not normally be used to describe the average college student otherwise. We expect them to be high-functioning. They were accepted into a school of higher learning. That they are (possibly ) still high-functioning in spite of their choices is not something to be proud of.

I get what C is saying. Some people can dabble and still perform and function in the every day world. Others cannot. I myself smoke pot a few times a week but hold down a job, a mortgage, a husband and friends, etc. Then you get the folks who experiment further past pot and end up with issues. I could care less about college kids or 50-somethings like myself who smoke a doob, but I don’t dabble in anything other than pot. And there’s nothing wrong with that. I like a drink, too and sometimes – gasp – have a cocktail and a smoke. I still get up and go to work the next day.

I’m with you. 50+ married, we both work, I have my own shop which requires discipline, have the mortgage and everything else. Almost embarrassed how long I have been imbibing. I would not touch any of the other stuff on the market these days.

If she does have Lupus, then that’s really sad. The added stress of being famous, dealing with paps and media who make up lies, wouldn’t be good for her health. Lupus is not a fun disease. If she has it she will be dealing with flare-ups off and on for the rest of her life. It can really interfere with one’s life at times. Stress does bring it on and a wake up to take it easy for awhile.

She was the main character in a hit Disney show (Wizards of Waverly Place) still living happily in reruns and featured on the Disney mobile app (which streams live tv and also episodes to view any time, they had the entire series available online at one point). After the series ended, they had her star a year or so later in a tv movie using the same characters, which screams continued popularity. In their demographic, she was most likely just as well known as the Biebster. Maybe even better known. She also didn’t leap to become a couple- it seemed as though they just hit it off as friends first. That was before he started specializing in idiocy, though. In any case- it probably is hard to avoid running into him without missing events she doesn’t want to miss.
Selena seems to stay out of the tabloids pretty well on her own and it’s likely she wants it that way. So Bieber’s attractiveness to the paps may be a liability. I don’t think she’s the type to call the paps, so she flies under the radar quite a bit.

I’m sorry, I just can’t bring myself to be excited over someone seeing her do drugs one time. She is an adult, she has thus far not danced topless on any tables or anything similarly ridiculous, so it’s silly to make anything of this. If it becomes a habit, then yes, it’s a big deal. But one time at a party? No. This is concern trolling.

When I first saw photos that they were back together I thought how laughable she considers herself a feminist. He repeatedly cheated on her, has sex with prostitutes and other women of questionable background, not to mention all of douche bag moves. I actually hope that Selena has lupus. I think it’s disgusting to cancel a tour just for a guy.

I think she’s gorgeous. She made an adorable film with Jane Lynch called “Another Cinderella Story.” My 9 year old daughter, husband and I still watch it regularly, it’s so well done. She is a cute actress and can handle a light comedy role. I also have a soft spot for her and Demi since I’ve seen videos of them in Barney (my daughter loved that show when she was little). I still remember Selena playing Alice in Wonderland and she was very good. I think it would be pretty easy to get lost in Hollywood. I can’t even imagine having all that money and temptation. I’d rather not admit it, but I can see anyone making wrong choices (myself included) in these over-the-top situations, surrounded by enablers and flatterers. She and Demi (as well as Lindsay and Miley) were child performers, too. They never had normal lives. Maybe Justin isn’t so obnoxious on a personal level, when he’s not trying to “become an adult” in the entertainment industry, a la Miley. Still, I hope she does make him wear protection.
