It is pretty much a given that when people accept Hasty Pudding awards, they will be put on the spot and expected to do something ridiculous; it is part of the tradition. The men MUST appear in drag at some point in the proceedings. While I didn’t see the indoor festivities, I did see Helen Mirren’s parade through Harvard Square and the lady seemed to be enjoying herself immensely.

Helen Mirren has always been very body-confident and fearless. She has been in numerous movies where she was nude, and many had sex scenes. She is comfortable in her own skin and it shows. I adore this woman.

Now if only we as a society could extend this same attitude toward entertainers in general. If it’s okay for actresses to be naked and overtly sexual, then it’s ok for pop stars to do the same.
