Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas of Once Upon a Time got married on Saturday

Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas
Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas of Once Upon a Time were married this Saturday in California in a small ceremony attended by about 30 friends and family. A very pregnant Ginnifer wore a gown by Monique Lhullier. She is due to have her first child sometime this Spring, having announced her pregnancy last November. We haven’t seen her in so long that I didn’t remember she was pregnant. I do remember that this is Josh’s second marriage, though. Josh was married from 2007-2011 to a British actress named Lara Pulver, who played Sookie’s fairy godmother Claudine on True Blood. There’s some question as to whether he was separated when he first hooked up with Ginnifer, but all that is water under the bridge now. Here’s more on their wedding:

The two Once Upon a Time costars were married today at sunset in an intimate ceremony in front of about 30 close friends and family in the Los Angeles area.

An eyewitness tells E! News exclusively that guests arrived in formal attire between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

By 7 p.m., everyone enjoyed a cocktail reception with a Spanish guitar player in a courtyard with cactuses and stone pathways.

“Ginnifer and Josh seemed very relaxed and happy,” our source says. “They were surrounded by their nearest and dearest friends and kept it very intimate and simple.”

The bride wore a custom-designed Monique Lhuillier gown.

The two first announced that they were engaged back in October of last year after dating for more than a year.

In fact, back in March 2012, a source told E! News that Goodwin (who plays Snow White in the ABC series) and Dallas (who plays Prince Charming) had an “immediate connection when they met” in 2011.

“They were shooting in Canada together,” said a source, “and because they were both away from home, they inevitably started to socialize together off the set as well as on—and they got closer as friends.”

The insider added, “The relationship has been full-on since the moment it turned romantic. There was no reason to wait and take it slow—they fell in love, and it feels right.”

And a baby will soon make three for the newlyweds.

[From E! Online]

Congratulations to Ginnifer and Josh! I haven’t seen any wedding photos but US has pictures of them out yesterday. There’s something romantic about them playing Snow White and Prince Charming and falling in love. (As long as it was above board.) I wonder if they’ll give their kid a name that pays homage to how they met on set. Their characters on the show had a daughter named Emma. If they have a girl (they won’t reveal the gender yet) maybe they’ll give her the middle name Emma or something similar. That would be cute.

    Good for them, congrats!

  2. Sara says:

This kind of article makes me want to discuss my friends in this hush-hush way.

“Aurelia left her boyfriend, because he was flirting with a neighbour.”
    “How do you know?”
    “Oh, a SOURCE told me.”

  3. Jane Q. Doe says:

Good for them, but does she ever SMILE in photos??

    • Esmom says:

Seriously. Her bitchface kills me, as does her extremely severe haircut. I’m sure she’s a perfectly fine person and I’m not familiar with her show but those two things have landed her on my Irrational Hate List. Although hate is actually way too strong a word, it’s more like annoyance.

      • Erinn says:

THIS. And I actually watched the show for a bit, and couldn’t stand her. Bitch face, severe hair, AND a Mary-Sue.

      • Scarlet Vixen says:

Me too! Her ‘red carpet face’ kinda makes me want to smack her. It annoys me so much I started to dislike her on Once Upon a Time, too. I found him to be very likeable, but her notsomuch. I’m SO glad I’m not the only one with an irrational dislike of her crazy over-the-top non-smiling mugging for the camera.

I also find their hooking up when he was still married to be shady as hell–NOT romantic…

      • ~Z~ says:

I ♥ you ~ This is exactly how I feel when I see her!
I don’t watch the show any more, but they found incredible Mary Sue clothes for her all the time….

      • Jessica says:

        Erinn:

How is Ginnifer a Mary Sue? Or did you mean her character, Snow White/Mary Margaret, in which case, how is the character a Mary Sue?

    • sam says:

She looks so different when she smiles. She used to be the “chubby” girl in many roles she played and back then I remember her smiling more. Once she started more “serious” roles she seems to have stopped smiling. Not sure if she thinks she looks chubby when she smiles or anything. She is so beautiful and was never chubby. Having full, round cheeks is nothing to be ashamed of!

      • Mrs. Darcy says:

I don’t know that she was cast as the “chubby girl” She was the geeky girl on Ed, when she was v. young, then the youngest wife on Big Love. She has slimmed down a bit but still has a round shaped face. She said in the past she uses Weight Watchers whenever she needs to lose weight (I think it was unsponsored, she was just giving out her tips), which I thought was pretty cool, usually actresses act like drinking wheatgrass and doing yoga is all they need to stay slim. She smiles on Once Upon A Time all the time and has a pretty smile, not sure why she never does in pics.

    • amanda says:

I can’t stand her pouty pose. She always does that “serious face” and it’s ridic!
Awful haircut too! That patterned suit thing is atrocious. Bad hair, bad attitude, bad style! Don’t know why she is a thing. Sorry, not a fan.

  4. Dani2 says:

I haven’t watched Once Upon a Time in like a year but congrats to them.

  5. Truthtful says:

Indeed something so so romantic that snow white and prince charming are in love in real life!

    Congrats to them

(I love her so much, I think she is an underrated actress that can do marvellous things!)

  6. paola says:

I can’t stand their show anymore..I somehow managed to watch some episodes of the first 2 season and NOTHING happens in the duration of a goddamned episode.
    * big revealing at the beginning. Close up of Emma swan’s big puppy eyes. Fighting against someone. Another closeup of Ginnifer crying eyes. Big pathos towards the end with very bad actors. Credits.*
Good for these two though. They seem very sweet together.

  7. Mouse says:

Right on. How can we forget about the high-functioning sociopath and the woman

  8. Memme says:

They are a gorgeous couple, that’s a lot of love to celebrate. I’m happy for them.

  9. Loopy says:

I know some people have strong beliefs that they must marry before they have children, however i just can imagine how uncomfortable it must be in your last trimester.

  10. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

They both look 12. Oh, well, congrats.

    • Ms. Nobody says:

I was just coming here to post that! The hell are they doing to look like that in their 30s??!!

Their hookup seemed kinda shady to me, but congrats, huzzah and mazel tov anyway.

  11. LAK says:

I love their characters and I love fairy tales, so Huzzah!!

    • T.C. says:

Call me a sucker but I love the Snow White and Prince Charming marrying in real life. Good luck to them.

  12. Kaye says:

In most of those pictures it looks like he has on more lipstick than she does.

  13. boredsuburbanhousewife says:

Lara Pulver may have been Sookies fairy godmother but her really memorable role was “The Woman” Irene Adler in Sherlock! She and Cumby were HOT together.

  14. Tx says:

Congrats to them! That show is my guilty pleasure and I love them together :)!

  15. don't kill me i'm french says:

    Congrats!!

  16. bug says:

This guy was married to Lara Pulver–the stunning Irene Adler from Sherlock–and he dumped her for this pumpkin head?? Gah.

  17. Cordi says:

Congrats to them! They seem like a very down to earth couple who are really happy together!

  18. nk868 says:

is she trying to be a fashion girl with that face? no judgment – actually asking. that face is getting her into hathaway territory for me… she has a cute smile and seems to have a bubbly personality in interviews, i think she should work with that instead.

she looks like she’s holding in a fart.

  19. Shay15 says:

I tried watching OUAT for a while but this Ginnifer woman annoyed me so much I skipped all her scenes (which was pretty much the whole episode) and this Josh guy…his acting is phenomenally bad.

  20. The Original Mia says:

So romantic! When I saw BTS pics of them after OUAT premiered, I knew it was love at first sight. Their chemistry was just electric. I’m happy for them. Wish them many happy years together with their kid.

  21. lucy2 says:

I didn’t remember she was pregnant either. Congrats to them.
I only watched OUAT for a season or so, not my thing. I always liked her character on Big Love though. She’s very pretty, but the posing is a little silly.

  22. Jessica says:

I love them as the Charmings on Once Upon a Time. Congrats to them!

  23. MsMaggieS says:

Why do they look so waxy in the pictures???

  24. hollie says:

He was married when they first hooked up but then retroactively decided to change his status to separated because he thought it sounded better. Eh.

  25. gg says:

I really can’t with her bizarro hair with that head and ears, and he looks like a prick with the snotty posing.

  26. Amberica says:

I guess I’m the only one, but I adore her hair. I think she’s lovely with it. I had that cut once, but DH and my son HATED it (plus, all honesty, I’m girly enough to pull it off. You have to be super girly to wear your hair like that and not look lazy/manly).

    • Delta Juliet says:

I have this haircut. I have never gotten so many compliments in my life! Although in all honesty, I have the face/features to pull it off.

I have seen pictures of her with this hair where she looks AMAZING. Not these pictures, obviously 😀

      • Esmom says:

I have no problems with a pixie — in fact I wish more women would be brave enough to rock one — I just don’t think GG pulls it off.

Maybe if I isolated the hair from her epic bitchface I could see the attrcativeness, but I just can’t seem to do that. 🙂

  27. Izzy says:

I lost a lot of respect for BOTH of them when I found out they hooked up while he was still married to Lara Pulver – their separation took place after Dallas and Goodwin became “involved” on set.

I guess Ginnifer should be the one looking out now – she created the vacancy for the next one. When it comes to cheating, how you get him is usually how you lose him.

  28. Curious Cole says:

Questionable origins notwithstanding – I really enjoy the idea of fairytale characters falling in love here in reality. I used to like Once Upon a Time but this season has been missing the mark.

  29. caitie says:

This is pretty cute. I have to give credit to Ginnifer for looking so cute with her short haircut, most cannot pull if off like her.

But Prince Charming is wearing obviously wearing foundation, luminiser and lip stain/balm.

  30. John says:

She has a serial thing for other women’s boyfriends/husbands.
Good for them, but she’d best be looking over her shoulder, Karma’s comin’.
