Michael Fassbender wore blue leather for Sundance London: would you hit it?

On Thursday night, Michael Fassbender (looking particularly well-rested) premiered Frank in Dublin. Then on Friday night, Michael, Domhnall Gleeson and director Lenny Abrahamson were in London premiering the film at “Sundance London.” Good God… Fassy has regained the hot, hasn’t he? All it took was a decent haircut, a few weeks of downtime in Ireland and lots of leather. Or shall we give Naomi Campbell credit for this? HA. I mean, I don’t doubt that Fassy and Naomi hooked up. But I just hesitate to say that they’re officially dating. But something is definitely different with Fassbender, because he is seriously giving me some old-school Fass-flutters. Sigh.

Anyway, there are some new interviews with Fassy about Frank, but none of them are incredibly interesting. It’s almost like Fassy has learned his lesson that he should try not to make news in interviews? Perhaps. When talking about wearing the gigantic plastic head for the film, Fassy said:

“Initially it was kind of claustrophobic in there. There’s not much one can see from inside the head – it’s very restricted in terms of what’s going on outside – but it was great fun. It was very liberating and I felt quite mischievous whenever I put the head on so it actually lent to the character. I just put the head on and the rest did itself. I wanted to really embody the character physically and there was a lot to do there. Sometimes with a head on that’s animated, it’s better to do smaller movements or no movements than be more expressive, funnily enough, and that just sort of happened through trial and error. But it was sort of freeing when you’re wearing a mask like that. It’s kind of fun.”

Blah. I still don’t know if I want to see it.

Incidentally, you know how I said a few weeks ago that Nicole Kidman might play Fassy’s love interest in Genius, where Fassy had signed on years ago to play Thomas Wolfe? Well, not so much. I mean, Nicole did sign on to the film, but Fassy dropped out and now Jude Law is in. Just as well – I tend to think Kidman is the icy Botox kiss of death for films these days. Bonus points for anyone who remembers the old rumors more than a decade ago about Jude Law and Nicole Kidman and how she might have played a role in breaking up his marriage.

Here’s a video of Fassy on the London red carpet. This is Fass-p0rn, the camera is so close.

And here’s the trailer for Frank:

First time I realize how short his legs are.
    Disappointing.

  2. bammer says:

Again and again and again until I was ginger like him.

  3. Helvetica says:

I just would do so many bad things with him and to him.

  4. blue marie says:

I would for his jacket, otherwise no.

  5. Lucretia says:

He looked completely miserable during awards season, maybe because he was also trying to film Macbeth at the same time, maybe because he genuinely hates campaigning, whatever. He looks ten years younger, very hot, very relaxed. Good look for him. In answer to the question: of course.

  6. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I’m usually an unqualified yes, but he would have to change outfits this time. Love the jacket, but with blue jeans and a blue shirt? #DressedHimself

  7. Darkladi says:

I’d bring home the gold in floor gymnastics!

  8. Liv says:

I want to see the film, the trailer looks great. Also I love Domhnall Gleeson – “About time” anyone?

    • Tatjana says:

I love Gleeson since Harry Potter, and he was great in About Time.
Fassy doesn’t do it for me.

  9. Addison says:

The blue jacket is nice, although he needed more contrast to make it stand out more. He’s just one entire blue outfit.

The reason he looks so refreshed is because he went on vacation in Peru right after the IFTAS. No need to credit Naomi for this, if that is even true.

And Fassy looked great during award season. He looks good no matter what.

Something died w/r/t my Fassbender love this year (had been fairly strong previously) but I rewatched Xmen:First Class over Anzac weekend and… Well… S*+%. That accent? The foreign language speaking? The wearing the f*^% out of that Panama hat and khakis? *sigh* so yes. Yes please.

  11. Lilacflowers says:

Wouldn’t hit it; more for the rest of you to enjoy, but I do want to see the movie and I want that blue leather jacket.

  12. Maria says:

Until my legs turned into jello.

  13. Kelly says:

Yes, 7 ways from Sunday even if I am a short white girl, the opposite of his tastes but good GOT DAMN, that is a hot man.

  14. Prudence says:

Oh yes. Even would put up with the ginger beard for him, but this—is better. Way better.

  15. lizziebee93 says:

I’d hit it like the fist of an angry god.
Gosh, can’t believe he was here in Lima a couple weeks ago. Maybe that’s what happened to him?
He got to eat at Gaston Acurio’s Restaurant. Peruvian food is amazing; but I am baised, of course.

  16. LadyS says:

OMG he looks sooooooooo good!! Seriously wtf was going on earlier this year? Ugh, I shamelessly want him!!!!

  17. Gorgonia says:

I would hit on Michael Fassbender anyway, and if his outfit is not good, I’m always ready to undress him, (it’s a dirty job but someone has to do it)…

  18. Blue says:

I just adore him, and he’s been looking so handsome lately. He always looks great but he is really bringing it in these recent photos. I wish I could get excited about the movie Frank. But, I just have no interest in watching a film where you can’t see that face. I am looking forward to Macbeth though. He’ll probably own that role.

  19. Cali says:

Ireland sure is agreeing with him. Being around family seems to have helped!

Kaiser, couldn’t agree with you more on this statement “It’s almost like Fassy has learned his lesson that he should try not to make news in interviews?”

  20. Camille (The Original) says:

I love his voice, I love his laugh and I LOVE his face. Sigh.

  21. Smurphy says:

    ffflfllmmmggghhhh
That’s the sound I make when I stare at this man’s sextastic face. Mmmmmmmmmmmm

  22. ramona says:

He looks fantastic. LOVE the leather jacket.

In fact, that leather jacket would look great on me. A bit big, obviously borrowed from a boy… seriously, Fass, call me up. You’ve been photographed in it, so now you can’t wear it much (oh, the laws of fame). So pass it on to me. Sharing is caring.
