There has been very little news about Princess Charlene of Monaco after she and Prince Albert announced her pregnancy on May 30th. These are the first post-pregnancy announcement photos we’ve had of her since then. Charlene and Albert were out and about in Fontvieille Park in Monaco over the weekend to inaugurate the Princess Grace Rose Garden. The garden has been closed for eight months for refurbishment, so this was its grand reopening.
Charlene, as you can see, is barely showing. If anything, she looks about the same as she usually does, except she’s wearing flats here and she usually wears a low heel or a pump. I think pregnancy agrees with her – she looks younger in these pics. A little bit barfy, for sure, but very pretty. Even Princess Caroline seems to be taking a moment to say something nice to her.
There were some rumors circulating that Charlene is actually pregnant with twins. Everybody gets the “twins” rumor these days, but Charlene’s twins rumor seems to have originated in her home country of South Africa, with a local TV anchor claiming to have info from one of Charlene’s relatives that she is definitely expecting twins. What we do know for sure is that she’s due by the end of this year. Sigh… maybe that’s why she looks so good here. She no longer has to spend hours in the Insemination Dungeon. *shiver*

I work in a hotel these two stayed at recently and I’m telling you guys the public image we have on these two couldn’t be more wrong. They are trully happy together and my god she’s stunning way out of his league

He visited my old university a few years back and story goes he was very nice and chatty to everyone, only good reports.

@Ahot – i’m not sure if “reason is frowned upon” in stories about these two. i think it might be a question of exposure. i have never heard about either one of them before i started reading stories about them here (and on another couple of websites), i had no clue who they were. nor do i find either one of them engaging enough to google other stories about them. therefore, my exposure to them and gossip about them is rather limited, as i imagine is a lot of people’s. having said that, OF COURSE most celebrities have to fit into a narrative. that’s what story telling (gossip) is about. 🙂
Well, I’m very happy to know it. But you have to admit, she looked miserable at her wedding and every photo since. I thought people were exaggerating until I watched the wedding video. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. She looked like she was filled with so much sorrow she just couldn’t contain it. And look at her since – every photo, she looks melancholy or angry. So I don’t think you are all being quite fair. I don’t WANT her to be unhappy, but I see what I see.
I can imagine going from a very active private life to a life of public display & decorum being very hard for someone so successful. I like her because she doesn’t shy away from work like some, although she is said to be an introvert.

I´ve heard the same. A friend of mine also worked in a hotel (in Paris for 6 months) and she met them and told me Albert & Charlene are very intimate and relaxed with each other. She also told me he is a nice guy, but silly and absolutely no looker (as if we couldn´t see that 😉
There are many happy photos/videos of them two. But these photos aren´t interesting, so everyone likes to ignore them. You need a good headline and a happy couple is not newsworthy. It´s that simple. Sad, rich Princess and bad husband is an unbeatable headline.
Some reporter recently said that there are twins in the family of Charlene´s mother.
Do you have any links to happy photos? I’ve only ever seen her look happy once, when she was vacationing with friends, and Albert wasn’t there.
She has some scars on her face that are more apparent when she smiles. This might be part of why she looks happier with other people – when she’s pictured with Albert it’s usually at an official occasion whereas when she’s on vacation she’s not expecting to be photographed.
I am glad they seem happy together. With the scandal prior to their wedding, and her obvious grief and sadness during the ceremony, I am a little surprised to hear they are doing so well.
But marriage is a huge commitment and if they have seemed to work things out, that is good news.
She really is super gorgeous and it is nice to see her happy in pictures.

Well twins are more common in your thirties apparently…but yeah my guess is she had some assistance, and not necessarily for fertility or medical reasons. It seems crazy, but nothing surprises he about this family anymore. So so bizarre.

I hope she was inseminated because the thought of getting it on with that nasty little toad Albert is just revolting.
I think she is quite tall and remember, she was an Olympic swimmer at one point and seems to keep herself relatively fit now. I’m not shocked she isn’t much showing. Tall, fit women tend to do that. Frankly, this is probably a lot of stress removed from her shoulders. Any woman who marries into royalty (but especially the one who marries the current monarch) is going to be expected to produce babies to continue the direct line. She’s done the most important thing she needed to do. She’s probably breathing easy for the first time in forever.

Actually, she looks a little peaked, slightly nauseous, as to be expected. Still, Charlene is very pretty. The Frog Prince had better be giving her a lot of TLC.

there are many pictures of them being happy together. esp from the time before her wedding. in germany we are a bit “nicer” to the couple and there are often pictures of them looking comfortable with each other. though i agree that she doesn’T picture “well”. i just think she is one of those people that look much better in motion and 3D than on a picture.
when i watched the wedding and saw her looking miserable, my first thought was: she had her lips done and knew that it looked stupid… 😉

basically i think she just isn’t a very “open” personality on formal occasions. those pictures you shared above show that as well. her happiest pictures are those that are more at informal events (or sports & children).
and i’m sure that caroline isn’t the easiest person to get along with and someone i wouldn’t want to cross paths in political/royal powerplay… 😉

i don’t think its the lips, it looks more like dental work. she used to have more uneven teeth – which i preferred. however, her skin and hair now is better looked after and she always look polished

like i said… to me it seems as if she’s not really able to smile properly with those new lips. if you look at those older pictures, she is able to laugh naturally.
I looked at some of the pictures posted elsewhere on this thread, and it does look like she is overly botoxed or something and can’t smile fully.
If one twin is a boy and the other is a girl, the boy will be king. If both are boys, is it the one that pops out first that gets to be king?
She’s already aged so much it seems. As if this pregnancy is sucking the life out of her already. Maybe it’s her hairstyle.
If she is having twins, good for her. But why is it that anytime it is claimed a celebrity is having twins, some people automatically thinks she had “help”. As if women can’t naturally become pregnant with twins.
The reporter got the scoop from Charlene’s dad, who realized after the fact that he wasn’t supposed to say anything. I’m interested in the order of birth and how that’ll shake out for the monarchy.

I wonder if she will need to go on bed rest as her pregnancy advances with twins. I think Angelina Jolie had to go on bed rest, not sure if Mariah Carey or Jennifer Lopez did.

I would bet the twins (if it is even true) would be the result of fertility treatment or artificial insemination. Those methods oftentimes produce multiples, I’d also be willing to wager against this heir being produced through “traditional” practices.

She must’ve stopped swimming at some point. She doesn’t have the arms or shoulders of a swimmer in those pictures.
I find her super annoying like she on purpose puts that’s daft ice face on. Seriously no one forced her to marry him, neither did anyone force her to.stay and live a very haute and lux life!
I cannot stand her expressions like she’s so tortured and in pain.
She needs to get over herself, she lives an extremely privileged life and knew exactly what she was in for!
