RHONY Aviva Drescher threw her prosthetic leg during an on-camera catfight

Don’t ask me to know or care about Aviva Drescher. I have no idea who she is beyond “she’s on the Real Housewives of New York” and “I just looked up these photos of her after reading this story on Page Six.” Apparently, Aviva wears a prosthetic leg. She had a childhood injury and she’s worn a prosthetic for much of her life. It’s a quality piece too – as I was looking up full-body photos of her, it was really difficult for me to ascertain which leg is the prosthetic. There’s only a slight skin color difference… I think the left one is the prosthetic.

Anyway, why does any of this matter. Because the RHONY has gone meta. It’s like they’re living in a world Tina Fey has created (God, how I loved Queen of Jordan!!!). During an on-camera fight – which will air in the July 22 episode – Aviva apparently TOOK OFF HER LEG AND THREW IT AT SOMEBODY.

As “The Real Housewives of New York” approaches its Season 6 finale, we hear fur will fly — and so will a leg. Sources say this season’s July 22 episode features an “epic” battle between the catty cast at Le Cirque that’s punctuated by Aviva Drescher removing her prosthetic leg and throwing it across the eatery.

“During a wild argument” among the cast, a source says, “Aviva yells, ‘What do you want from me? To crawl out of here?’ All the while, she’s shimmying out of her prosthetic leg under the table.” She then “throws it, in front of a crowd of shocked people.”

The incident happened last fall, but witnesses signed non-disclosure agreements and have largely kept quiet. A Bravo promo for the current season teased the bizarre incident by showing an image of a detached gam in a high heel lying on the ground, but without revealing where the leg came from or how the incident happened.

Said a source of the leg-tossing melee, “It’s something that definitely has not been seen on TV before.”

Drescher lost the limb in a childhood accident and wrote about it in her book, “Leggy Blonde.”
Meanwhile, speculation’s swirling over which wives will be back next season. A spy says the whole cast is being let go “except Ramona Singer.” But another source close to Bravo says no decisions have been made and rumors are being spread by an ex-castmate who’s still sore about no longer being on the show.

[From Page Six]

Throwing a leg will probably keep Aviva on the show, right? I mean, if all else fails and they want ratings to pick up, Andy Cohen can throw a little extra money at Aviva so she will throw a leg four times per season. Leg-throwing is the new table-overturning. It’s the new “getting blitzed and saying something racist.” Bitch, don’t make me throw my leg at you. I will kick you in the face and not even touch you.

I will kick you in the face and not even touch you made my morning.

The *source*, let’s call them “Bill Karen”… Bill Karen seems to be hell bent on dropping hints that the whole cast needs to be fired and that the ratings have been low the last two seasons (they are).

I always thought Aviva’s job was on the line because she wasn’t playing ball with production this season. Hypothetically, if Bill Karen were to be – I dunno – long-time family friends of Aviva, leaking what happened at Le Cirque would be a great way to garner up some publicity for Aviva and ensure another season. Maybe in return, Aviva would try to get Bill Karen back on the show. And we’d get another 12 episodes of Bill Karen dinner parties sponsored by Bill Karen Fabrics.

LOL. And “Bill Karen” could be given a role as special friend to Housewives and rant about how she never really cared about being rejected from Bethenny….

I think Real Housewives has jumped the shark.

    • Longhorn says:

Sadly, I agree. I used to like RHONY but the cat fighting has become over the top and boring.

    • GeeMoney says:

Yes… all of the Housewives shows have jumped the shark. And now RHONJ is starting up again… I don’t think I can take another minute of Teresa Guidice and her family drama. Ugh.

      • Hootysgram says:

Didn’t you LOVE how humble and repenting Joe Guidice and Theresa portrayed themselves on this weeks episode. WHAT a joke. They are still living OVER THE TOP and I have to wonder…WHERE are they getting the money to maintain that household? They are both scoundrels…and need to pay the piper for all the illegal crap they pulled off knowingly and purposely. Don’t you LOVE when Theresa says…I’m dealing with all this now…like DARN…ain’t life a bitch when you get caught doing seriously illegal things? And the new blonde back on the scene…the new BFF Dina….acting all “it’s all about family and this is what you do when people are down>” NO…this isn’t what you do when you have felon’s for relatives. You distance yourself from that element and not condone what they did…but supporting them. This is how some Italian’s earn the term “stupid GAVONES!” (Spelling?)

    • Dinah says:

Completely. I can’t watch it because the mental illness of the one is so apparent to me, and the alcohol abuse of two others is just painful.

    • Az says:

RHONY jumped the shark years ago. Scary Island. The Bensimon.

      • Decloo says:

That was the apex of the NYC franchise! It was all downhill from there. As for the Drescher woman, she’s got nothing going on except the leg. The leg is just not that interesting.

    • Jessica says:

If I’m getting bored of it, which I am, then yes it’s past its prime. If it were a stock I’d say sell.

  4. Talie says:

Truthfully, I’ve been waiting for this moment all season.

  5. NewWester says:

Table tossing, and now prosthetic leg throwing. What next will these characters do on “Real Housewives”? I can’t imagine

  6. karkar says:

Is that her version of a child tantrum?

  7. GeeMoney says:

She threw her leg?!?!? YES YES YES!

I had given up on watching RHONY until I read this… I might have to start tuning in again.

PS – Hope no one was seriously injured.

  8. PennyLane says:

Can you imagine being in the restaurant when this happened? I would have died laughing.

Points for style to the leg-thrower.

  9. pnichols says:

    Again?

  10. dd says:

Another cast member should have whipped out a fake boob and nailed her with it.

    • Mojoman says:

Gives you a different meaning of WATER BALOONS war! If RHONY starts chucking them plastic boobies, heck I might tune in.

  11. Jacqueline says:

She certainly gets points for originality. I absolutely, positively cannot stand her or her creeper pervert of a father. She apparently pulled some crap earlier this season, so she was edited out of three episodes and pulled from the opening line-up. Crippling neuroses don’t make for a very good storyline. She wants to be a victim, but no one is biting so she instigates, which just makes her look crazier.
Aaaaand, that’s enough thinking about Aviva for me for today.

  12. LaurieH says:

Back in the day, I used to love RHONY. I used to get such a kick out of Alex and Simons’s blatant pretentiousness and social climbing. I never quite understood Bethany’s existence on the show, as she was single – but the whole “housewives” thing seems to have gone ot the window anyway. I kinda liked Jill Zaren. I know many did not, but having grown up in NY myself, she was so very NY – though not all that interesting. Ramona, to me, is off the chain. Her scary, drunk-meets emotional problem googly eyes…this season she seems to be picking fights for the sake of picking fights and looks ridiculous, childish and classless (and pathetic, given that her husband is a raving cheater). I don’t care for Aviva. I kind of like Carole Radziwell. I definitely don’t ike Heather and her so-yesterday “Holla” attempts to be cool. Lou Ann is still a wet blanket of equitte and the new girl – whatever the hell her name is – is just boring and ding-batty.

  13. G says:

I seriously never understood how or why any of these vile, vapid and really not very attractive women were ever given a show. Carole is sweet but nothing to warrant a spot on a show.

Raised 5beautiful kids with lupus, type 1 diabetes and MS. Now homebound due to same diseases. Love to watch reality TV. I never thought with all the “I don’t understand why this is happening to me” from Teresa. The nasty hurtful comments from Ramona, The Ne-Ne changing from the wonderful quick wit to turning on Kim on the bus ride like a lion after his prey. I never thought I would see a woman with children lower herself to assure another season. When you remove your prosthetic leg, For 30 years I’ve done everything possible to assure my children the best quality of life I could. It was hell. Driving miles to specialist, 2 kids in the hospital on the same floor at the same time. And not having a clue that my body was riddled with disease. Well I’m totally disgusted and in disbelief. How could Avia dishonor soldiers even children that will never have the opportunity to get a prosthetic’s. This was too much. Are you that hungry for attention. she said.”she never wanted to make it an issue on the show”. Yet she kept it in the limelight from the second she came apart of the cast. I know my opinion doesn’t matter. I’m just another fan hoping the producer would realize that we watch to see the beautiful fashion. The beautiful kitchens and homes. Yes we love juicy storylines. We DON’T want to see Teresa using her beautiful daughter crying the entire show,to get sympathy from someone that could possibly be on the juror. All of our forefathers came to America for a BETTER LIFE. Some became wealthy, working hard. Some came in the bottom of ships. They built our railway systems even our white house. They didn’t steal just to buy unnecessary fur coats for 3year old girls, that only care about being loved. How could Teresa think that this wouldn’t come back and bite them on the butt. She didn’t even want her only family on the show. You can’t treat people any way and expect to be blessed. The perfect example for her kids is to say we were wrong and made bad choices. We are willing to except the responsibility. Anyway producers please give us good reality TV. We will watch without a women putting a false leg on the dinner table.
