Cressida Bonas ‘felt her ambitions would’ve been trampled by the royal machine’

123020PCN_Cressida07

What’s happening with Cressida Bonas is a relatively new phenomenon with Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriends. He was with Chelsy Davy for years (off and on) and while she got pap’d every now and then, you could go months and months without seeing her or hearing about her. Same deal with Harry’s girlfriend of like four months a few years ago, Florence Brudenell-Bruce. She got pap’d a handful of times and then she just faded away. But Cressida has a surprising amount of staying power. Maybe that’s because the press convinced themselves that Cressy was “the one” and that an engagement was imminent. Maybe it’s because Cressida has the “right” breeding for a royal bride/girlfriend. Or maybe it’s because Cressida is the girlfriend who wanted her own profile, her own stardom, her own name.

Anyway, Cressida is still getting pap’d all the time, that’s my point. She’s doing a play (with Daniel Bruel!) in London and the paps are getting her as her enters and leaves the theater every day. The way she’s being staked out, it’s like the press thinks that she and Harry still have a shot. They do not. At least according to her “friends.”

The erstwhile girlfriend of the fourth in line to the throne has categorically ruled out a rekindling of their two-year romance. A close friend of the 25-year-old actress said she had decided she was “temperamentally unsuited” to the discipline of being a royal girlfriend and was often “really rattled” by being the subject of speculation over whether the two would get married.

Miss Bonas, who studied dance at Leeds University and at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London, was also unhappy with the realisation that she would have to choose between life with Harry or her aspirations for a career on the stage. Since the couple’s parting in April she has acted in There’s A Monster In The Lake, which made its debut at the Hay Festival and last week transferred to the Rosemary Branch Theatre in North London.

Says Cressida’s chum: “She sees her future as an actress and she felt her ambitions would have been trampled by the royal ‘machine’. The decision not to continue with the relationship came from her, not Harry. The time had come for someone to make it and she could not see a long-term future with him. Harry was still very keen, but he appreciates her position and they have kept in touch, as friends.”

There had been the presumption by some observers that Cressie was “doing a Kate”– she broke up with Prince William for several months in 2007, while both were testing whether their romance was meant to endure.

But Cressie’s friend explains: “This is not a ‘breather’ or a temporary break. It’s over and she has nothing but the best wishes for Harry. She genuinely hopes he will find what he’s looking for.”

[From The Express]

I kind of like that Cressida’s people keep emphasizing that she’s done, that she’s got ambitions, that she wants a career, etc. When she was with Harry, she really did put those ambitions on hold – she took what was basically a desk job and tried to keep a lower profile. But she must have realized that she really did want to be on the stage in some capacity and that being “Prince Harry’s ex” would get her in a lot of doors. Now, do I believe that Cressida was the one to break up with Harry and all of that? Not really. I think he broke up with her when she kept acting flighty about their future – Harry realized that she didn’t want to settle down and so he moved on.

Also: Cressida has terrible street style. It’s just really bad. Amal Alamuddin has better street style, that’s how bad it is.

I think she is smart for recognizing what she wants and doesn’t want. I certainly don’t blame her for not wanting to get involved in the “family firm.”

    • kate says:

I totally understand that she doesn´t want to join the firm. I think you have to be really crazy to take on the role of a royal family member voluntarily. Sure, it comes with a lot of priviliges but also with the royal protocol. I couldn´t imagine leading a life like this – very strict, very boring. I mean you have to curtsy to your in-laws – also in private. The summer vacations at Balmoral sound so horrible to me. I think a lot of people have that Disney princess fantasy but I think real royal life is nothing like that.
Good for her that she is choosing the things she is passionate about.
Of course she took a desk job during their relationship, Kaiser. Do you really think they allow Harry to have a dancer girlfriend?

    • Francis says:

      +10000

    • What? says:

      Yeah, he dumped her.

She wants to be famous, her family is in PR; they are giving her what she wants.

  2. GlimmerBunny says:

She reminds me so much of Cara Delevigne. In the photo with the two-tone blue dress I honestly thought Cressy was Cara.

  3. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I thought she wanted to be a dancer? Idk, I’ve never completely bought what she’s trying to sell.

    God, she’s a terrible dresser.

    • LAK says:

She’s been in plays in the past. One of them went to the Edinburgh fringe which isn’t something to be sneezed at. Actor/Dancers whatever, it’s all stage work.

You have to agree though that she’s followed through on what she wants [or her PR tells us she wants]. And whether she’s used her connections or not, she’s working with seriously good actors. After this play with Daniel Bruel, she’s booked a part in a Judi Dench film.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Yes, I get that she’s been true to herself. I just wonder if she was using Harry to promote herself? Who knows.

      • Francis says:

Cressida went to Leeds University and trained, she has a degree, part of earning her degree is taking a well rounded body of other classes, including acting ,theater, dance theater , etc.
I went to school for Journalism but took other classes to fulfill my degree requirements, not just strictly journalism classes. I was given options but some things were just required. Any University gives students a well rounded educational experience, ( The degree Requirements, but also a well rounded education. ) I had to take math ,history and a science class, which had nothing to do with journalism, but I had to take them.

She an artistic girl, she has a degree, she had a well rounded education at Leeds, which I would bet involved acting training as well.
Any four+yr.degree involves completing substantial educational requirements. Cressida is educated.

      • bluhare says:

Do you really buy what she’s selling, LAK? My “something’s off” radar is seriously pinging over all this. Up until very recently they were hoping to get back together — from her camp — and now it’s all over conveniently when she has acting roles. I dunno, it just looks like she’s trying to look like Harry didn’t drop her like a hot rock to me. Am I too cynical?

      • LAK says:

B: i refused to take this relationship seriously based on the evidence presented. I am therefore not going to make any assumptions whatsoever on the current pap pics especially because alot of the narrative was media driven as opposed to actual reality.

As @Francis has pointed out, Chelsy and Flee were both accused of taking advantage of their positions for the jobs they acquired post Harry. Whether that’s true or not, it amounted to the same thing, they were over whatever Harry had to offer and didn’t looked back.

Cressida will continue to be papped intensely until Harry finds the next girl. After that she’ll be papped rarely and eventually she’ll be an also ran. It’s the media pattern that has happened for everyone else.

      • Sixer says:

@ Francis – bachelor degrees are much more specialised in the UK. It’s quite possible, even probable, that Cressida didn’t take a single class outside of her main discipline. And the degrees generally last three years, not four. In fact, we specialise generally much more quickly. In the two years of school preparing for university (A Levels), students take only 3-4 subjects and there’s no requirement to be broad with them.

My bachelor degree was Literature and I didn’t take a single class outside it. I took my Maths GCSE a year early, aged 15, and never had another Maths class again through another 3 years of school and 3 years of university.

      • Francis says:

But it’s also possible she did. Also she was said to have spent four years on her degree in some reports.
Since neither of us have her class schedule no one can say either way. But it doesn’t matter she pursued artistic pursuits.
Many dancers take acting classes and also Cressida worked on a tv show with her sister, who is to say she was not also interested in acting? This is not the first time she’s done a play.
I think she can do as she pleases and if she has a desire for the stage good for her.
Not one thing wrong with Cressida pursuing goals she chooses.
IMO it’s Kate who had the unhealthy outlook for a young woman. I always found KATE waiting and being on beck and call, bizarre.

      • Sixer says:

@ Francis – indeed she might. I was simply correcting your remarks about all universities providing a “well-rounded educational experience”. In the UK, they do not do this: they provide a highly-specialised specific educational experience. I’m not saying this is better or worse; I’m just saying it is.

I’ve just had a look at the Leeds website and they don’t do dance any more. But a quick look at the replacement performance curriculum will show you how specialised it is:

        http://www.pci.leeds.ac.uk/ug/theatre-performance/

        Nothing broad there at all.

It is a 3/4 year degree, though!

US students often struggle in the first year if they do bachelor degrees at English universities. They’re just not used to the depth at which they’re expected to work. Likewise, British students struggle at first if they go to US universities – they’re expected to take classes in subjects they haven’t even looked at since they were 14/15/16 and they’re all behind hand like the donkey’s tail in them.

      • Francis says:

Ok. That’s a good point. I see now.

      • bluhare says:

LAK, he’s been seen snogging someone else recently . . . a Kate lookalike? The photo was hard to see but the hair sure looked like hers. Maybe Cressida will get some peace now if that’s what she’s looking for.

      • Liv says:

@LAK I find that your comment shows a lack of respect and or understanding for acting. Acting and dancing are two different disciplines. It’s not whatever.
Other than that cressida may be very educated and independent. But to glorify her insignificant acting career is a bit odd. She had a few lines in this play that’s all. She honestly strikes me as a dancer who didn’t make it and now wants to try her hand at acting. If she was so interested in acting she would have gone to a school you know where they learn to act in the first place. You know rada, lamda or central. I don’t see a woman that is very career orientated at all. At 24-25 she is already old as a dancer and only graduated last year. It seems more like a rich kid who can do whatever she likes and doesn’t need to worry about how to make a living.
No harm in that, but it’s a tad irritating to see her described as artistic and independent when she seems to dabble in acting and got a normal boring job when dating Harry to please the royals.
By the way, Daniel Bruhl is not in this production, that is a piece of misinformation. He was only in the audience.

      • LAK says:

        LIV: Several things

        1. my mistake re: Daniel Bruhl. i thought he was in the play. i didn’t check. Thanks for clarifying.

        2. A career on stage = Dance, Acting or Music, and others, no?

        3. all the actors, dancers and models who made it in the acting profession without going to RADA, Lamda or central aren’t proper actors? someone better tell Ian McKellan, Ben Kingsley, Emma Thompson to name just three that didn’t. Additionally the 3 examples i’ve given didn’t have the added benefit of training in any performing arts.

        4. Whether Cressida has one line per project or the lead, a career in the performing arts seems to be her passion and she’s doing something about it. So i will continue to applaud her efforts and make no judgements until there is some mileage on that career. why are you so quick to judge considering this is her first professional job?

        5. As for changing disciplines at a later age, i give you Brenda Blethyn who decided to become a professional actor as a 30-something having worked in a bank prior to that http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brenda_Blethyn

        6. People from monies backgrounds shouldn’t make any attempts at any sort of career?

      • Liv says:

        @LAK
I am not as invested as you in this girl. I sort of balked at you calling it acting, dancing and whatever. Acting is a skill it may be related but it’s not the same as dance You need a different set of skills that they don’t teach at dance school.
As for your other examples Brenda Blethyn may have started late but she was serious about it and went to Guildford school of acting. She is a trained actress. Emma Thompson and Ian mckellan went to Cambridge, Thompson was a member of footlights and later studied theatre with Jacques lecoq in Paris, mckellan was a member of the Marlowe society appearing alongside Trevor nunn and Derek Jacobi in classical productions. Kingsley had a similar journey. It’s not comparable to Cressida.
I am not saying she can’t become an actress but let’s face it a glorified extra in a fringe play does not an actress make. As for being serious about acting I would ask why do a dance degree if you want to become an actress? She only graduated from dance school last year and doesn’t seem it have done any dance productions of note. It all seems a bit random

      • Liv says:

I just want to say that it’s not me! (The original Liv) 😉

    • fairy godmother says:

Daniel Bruhl was not in the play! He went to see it.
I cannot believe how facts are twisted or one-sided! She did a few bit plays in school just like many of us most likely did. I saw this play- under an hour to see what the hype is- and that is exactly what is it is HYPE!
A few lines and that was it- unremarkable. A girl who played the younger sister was quite good. I kept hoping with an open mind she was going to be good, but imo she was no better than a high school play- I have seen better amateur plays. If she really wants this she had best get real acting lessons asap!
I cannot believe they begged for donations to put on this play then the public had to pay to see it. They made money off this like a bunch of rich spoilt brats pretending to be actors. Really sad!

    • Suze says:

I’m laughing at the idea of LAK being invested in Cressida. OK!

As for Cressy, we’ll see if she’s an actress in five years. If she is, I’ll say good on her. In the meantime I stick her in the aspiring actress category.

I’m a bit bored by all the following of the ex-girlfriend and am just waiting on the next blonde for Harry. It does seem that he’s taking a bit of a break from steady relationships, which seems rather un-Harrylike. Maybe our Prince Hal is growing up. Or maybe he’s focusing on royal duties instead of women.

  4. Jegede says:

    Please.
She’s a pretty girl with glorious hair but this is yet more Bonas’ PR

This story coming out of it being definitely over and Cressida ending it, (ahem), just when stories of Harry making out with a brunette called Camilla is all over the papers, is quite the coincidence.

I wonder what Ingrid Seward will say/write now?

  5. Gwen says:

She obviously doesn’t mind public attention at all which makes me wonder why she was really with Harry.

    • MinnFinn says:

Way back when those two were papped hugging on the slopes in Switzerland, Cressida was shrinking away from Harry. Ever since that photo I thought she might have had only one foot in the door of that relationship. Now I’m leaning even more towards believing that and that Harry got played.

      • Jegede says:

        @MinnFinn
Alternatively, in subsequent pictures like the We Day concert, she was the one looking engaged and throwing her arms around Harry while he looked detached.

So any photo can be used for a narrative

      • Francis says:

Chelsy got accusations of using Harry too, when she got an internship or job with Firm connected to the Queen. What are these ladies supposed to do, not ever pursue their dreams, they are young women.
People break up and not every girl is desperate to be a royal. Cressida doesn’t need it,evidently and neither did Chelsy.
One of the journos said, she doesn’t need the life, she’s from wealth, her mom is Aristocratic , she’s lived around it her whole life. She’s not dazzled by the notion of a title, unlike some.

Harry met this girl in her last year and half of University, when she had already dedicated several years to a goal. Why should she have to give up her dream for Royalty, if she found that life with him even on short term, making her unhappy? I’m glad she knows herself and was not willing to sell her personality and dreams for a title, which may have made her unhappy.
She liked Harry but probably once -in, saw it was not for her.
She’s not Kate, she’s not going to sit around and not pursue her dreams for years while being Harry’s gf, so best she move on and do what she was wanted BEFORE she met or dated Harry.

Chelsy got accusations of using Harry too, when she got an internship or job with. Firm connected to the Queen. These are young women who had their dreams before Harry came along and they seem pretty healthy to me.

I always found what Kate did in the relationship with William, to be very unhealthy.

      • bluhare says:

Then why did she get serious with him at all, Francis, if she had her path mapped out for herself? Being part of that world, she’d know that it wasn’t compatible with the royal life so why hang on for two years?

      • Francis says:

Because she’s a young woman, who is normal and attracted to Harry, why not date him and see how it goes? Her life was not mapped out, but she had career goals, maybe she thought like Sophie Rhys Jones she could handle it, pursuing her career, but found she could not?
People were putting her down saying she wasn’t doing anything, so now that she is ,they still complain. Girl can’t win. She’s not even dating him anymore, she can do want she pleases now and I’m glad she looks happy.
        Everyone is not Waity Katey.
I personally think Kate was a very unhealthy example of a relationship.

      • LAK says:

B: there is a huge difference between being adjacent vs being in the eye of the storm. Ordinary members of the public who suddenly find themselves famous find the adjustment tough. ditto those working towards celebrity. They tried, they failed. no need to lambast the poor girl. she’s already tainted enough as it is. she’ll always be Harry’s ex no matter where her life leads. look at Sabrina Guinness – forever Charles’s ex; it’s the first thing that pops up on google despite all her accomplishments!!! ditto Koo stark and Andrew

BTW: Ifemelu is seriously considering Obinze!!!

      • ArtHistorian says:

Because a relationship doesn’t lead to marriage and family doesn’t mean that it wasn’t meaningful. I really think that their relationship and break-up is being overanalyzed here. They dated, they enjoyed each others company, they liked each other, they had a good time and now it is over, but that doesn’t mean it was time wasted.

      • HH says:

@bluehare – Part of me is also puzzled by Cressida trying to figure out her relationship with Harry if she wanted to be in the entertainment world (acting, dancing, or whatever). Anyone could tell that’s not a good match. However, I also can see that she was truly trying to see where the relationship would lead. They laid low for a VERY long time, and then once she was spotted out with him at that concert all of the press started heating up and I could see where she would get cold feet (again, haha). It would be understandable if the international press attention caused her to the put the brakes on the relationship. Except… the breakup didn’t happen until Harry traveled for Pelly’s wedding. I believe that was sometime later. For all we know, they both could have mutually agreed to end it. Their interests just didn’t seemed aligned. Same social circle, different paths.

      • MinnFinn says:

        Hold on now,
Jegede – I had not seen that We Day photo. I agree Cressida looked into Harry at that moment. And yours is an excellent point about one photo supporting narrative. I haven’t followed their relationship very closely, so my post was based on a gut reaction to having read a few stories about those two.

Francis – I did not complain about Cressida doing nothing before Harry. And my post did not mention Chelsea. Since you brought her up, for the record, I don’t believe Chelsea played Harry because status or networking opportunities that accompany an HRH boyfriend could not have helped Chelsea attain a high enough LSAT score (or score on equivalent test to enter law school in the UK) and undergrad performance to get her admitted to law school. Dating Harry might have helped her land the clerking internship, but that’s about it. Her record of achievement came from her own hard work.

LAK – Idk about Cressida being tainted. Anyway, thanks for the mention about Ifemelu. I need some reading material and you reminded me I’ve wanted to read Americanah so now it’s on my to-do list today.

    • Talie says:

Her family, particularly her mom and brother, seemed to be pushing the relationship in the press. Her mom had Prince William slip through once with her older daughter and I think she wanted this one to work. That’s probably why it extended as long as it did.

      • Francis says:

Oh that’s bull! If Isabella wanted bald Prince Willie all she had to do was show up.
He went running to Isabella’s home during the breakup and she once again turned him away.
Who do you think Isabella’s invite to the Royal wedding came from, William invited her , he didn’t even invite Sam Branson, but he invited Isabella. He invited Hollie Branson , but not Sam.
Isabella could have had William ages ago if she wanted him.
Cressida like her sister, she decided the life is not for her. IMO

      • maybeiamcrazy says:

If Cressie wants to be an actress, good for her. What I don’t get is constant pr leaks. If there were fewer leaks from Cressie’s “friends” I would completely believe that she doesn’t want anything to do with Harry. But she is trying so hard to make everyone know she did the dumping. It confuses me. Obviously, they won’t be getting back together. Why is she trying so hard? The leaks are not even about catching the attention of the prince like Kate’s were. Is it wounded pride? Does she think it is so humiliating that public thinks she got dumped while it is the opposite?

      • Francis says:

You are assuming what the Daily Mail writes is true.
It’s obvious Cressida is not trying, she’s wearing sneakers and sweatpants , this is not a girl pursuing a royal wife pr campaign.
I know for a fact the papz lay in wait because she’s In the play, that’s all. They want to get photos of her.

      • maybeiamcrazy says:

I agree. This is not royal family pr campaign. But I believe that she uses pr. I just don’t get what her angle is. Maybe she wants to be a famous actress right now so her “friends”( Possibly Cressie herself) give interviews to press to keep the attention on her. She might not want to be a royal girlfriend but she seems to have no qualms about riping the benefits of being a royal ex-girlfriend. It is… tacky ( the press part of it, not the roles she gets. She would be crazy to say no to working with Judi Dench).

      • kay/lv says:

maybeiamcrazy: I think you have the “wounded pride” part completely right. The way she was all over him at we day doesn’t come across as someone who doesn’t want to be involved with harry. Kate has never shown affection towards William like that in public after all this time. I still think something happened on that ski trip in kazagstan(I know I spelled this wrong). That may have been the first time they were alone without any of her friends around close by. Going on a trip has ended a lot of relationships. Maybe both of them realized on that trip that they were on different paths

  6. Sabrine says:

Even with a limited clothes budget, surely there’s no reason to dress yourself like a homeless frump.

    • Francis says:

But don’t u know it’s her PR Team telling her how to dress to become a Royal Wife! 🙂
Hahaha some are so ridiculous. If Cress seriously had PR working for that goal, she’d have a number of private wardrobe advisors and go to designers like Waity Katey had!

      • wow says:

@Francis…totally agree. It gets rather old when every story that is printed is automatically accredited to either Camp Cressy, Camp Harry or The Royal Palace without even using common sense by considering that maybe…just maybe the story is from the tabloid media’s side only. They make up stories all the time.

  7. LAK says:

so that’s where Mike Figgis has been hiding!!!!

  8. Talie says:

Well, she must like fame enough, if she’s choosing to be an actress. She may even get a spot on a CW show out of this. She needs to be prepared to discuss Harry.

  9. Francis says:

Nothing wrong with a woman who has ambitions wanting to pursue them away from the royal machine. Good for her. I like her.

  10. Nicole says:

I don’t know about everybody else, but I keep clicking on links to her pictures because I think she’s really pretty.

    • Francis says:

She ‘s naturally pretty, unlike Kate who plasters makeup on.

      • wow says:

Well, here I disagree. Lol. I think Kate is rather pretty and has a lovely smile when she doesn’t go manical with it. She has a soft, welcoming face. BUT she is nowhere near the epitome of great beauty the the British and US press go on about her.

      • HH says:

@wow – Kate’s face was soft and welcoming at her original weight, IMO. Now, I think her features look more severe. The makeup doesn’t help either, but it’s also a Middleton trait. Neither Kate, Carole, nor Pippa have soft faces.

    • lisa says:

i think she looks plain and sickly. like she needs some b12 and a fainting couch. dressing like a hobo just puts drab icing on the bland cake.

  11. Amelia says:

Of course you could go “months and months” without seeing Chelsy Davy. Girl was running away in Africa, that’s why. And she did that quite a number of times. Where can Cressida go?

    • bluhare says:

She can escape photographers if she wants to. If she’s uncomfortable with them she picked the wrong career.

      • Jegede says:

        @bluhare
There are almost daily pap strolls of her.
Some wearing outfits to catch the eye or clearly advertising Coca Cola
NO WAY is she trying to escape photographers, or wary of the attention

  12. Mitch Buchanan Rocks! says:

If Harry is a drunk he is not such a catch as he would seem – perhaps Cressida was wise enough, at such a young age, to recognize this.

    • bluhare says:

He might be but that storyline hasn’t been anywhere. The one with legs has him telling her he wasn’t going to be plastered by her side 24/7 in the run up to the wedding and she was pissed off.

    • LAK says:

If drinking was the measure of British public, most of the population would be single. We are social drinkers and by that i mean rivers of the stuff and behave badly in public. There is a pub on every corner in Britain. the one thing remote villages always have is a pub……..

    • Francis says:

No one knows what happened but Harry and Cress. It’s good she’s working and living her life.
Waity Katey she’s not Thank goodness for that!

  13. Dena says:

Frankly, based on what one can interpret from photographs, she just never really looked as if she was that interested in him. She also seems very young to me despite her being 25 (which is youngish). As someone who is from an aristocratic background already, and given that she wants to pursue/dabble in acting (who really knows how serious it will become) and unlike Kate, Cressida doesn’t gain much by marrying him (not at this time anyway). Once she has pursued acting and the time comes, she can marry someone of her class who is less high-profile or a fellow actor/dancer from a different background and be alright. I am not sure about money but her access to her “birth-circle” will hardly change.

For Harry, he may be feeling pressured or lonely since his brother got married. He is also facing 30. And when u r friends with a lot of couples, things get crazy for the singleton in the group. U know? All of those things tend to create pressure—internal and external. Perhaps he is a male JLo and finds it hard to be w/o a partner? I hope not and I hope he won’t succumb to a marriage, any marriage simply because of the aforementioned. Like Cressida, he seems to be also carving out a life and sort of just finding his groove. He should give that some time. Anyway, for some reason, I think he’ll be sexy as hell and at the top of his game at 35, so he should wait.

Resist the pressure Harry & give yourself time to grow into that distinguished, polished and accomplished man Dena thinks u can be! Now that would be sexy. Eat your heart out Cressida. LOL.

Men are still so “available” at 35. Women usually have children by then. But I believe that women are most beautiful in their 30’s. Scratch that, women can be beautiful at all ages, especially if they take care of themselves, and are well-groomed. Men don’t stop looking. Ever.

Harry is close to HM GrandMum and I’ll bet the royal axe fell either right before or right after Cressy was reported to have chosen Burning Man (and just about everything else in her life) over him…

the story about cress going to burning man came out right after it was announced that harry was going to brazil. Maybe my assumption is wrong but I kept getting the idea that cressie pr firm was competeing with harrys royal duties and his charitys. It seemed to me that she had to be the center of attention. Kinda like she was jealous of the attention he was getting. Everytime he did something or left the country for the royal family their would be cress the great stories and about how she was not ready to settle down. She was not invited to these events with harry and I think that bugged cresspr team, you know because she is from the right kinda family unlike Katie. Maybe im wrong.

Yes, Cressida, they sure would have. Which is why I now feel like William chose well with Kate. She has no ambition except to please William and his family, decorate, produce heirs, be a great mom, smile, shake hands, maintain a royal image, shop and make appearances. Ladies like Cressida and Chelsy are a different type of woman than that Royal role calls for.

I do wonder though why does she love to dress so sloppy? She seems to prefer to look so unkempt, when we’ve seen that, on occassion, she can dress up and look rather pretty.

I don’t think Harry has very good taste in women she is sort of average looking almost plain.
Good for her that she realised the royal life wasn’t for her before it was too late.

Harry has better taste in women that William IMO.
Kate’s just Williams doormat and that’s what he was looking for, which is why Jecca and Isabella as well as a few others didn’t want William.

Yeah whatever I still think he didn’t want to marry her and did the dumping.

  18. Leaflet says:

Although I don’t know much about Cressida, but I always liked her. I believe that Cressida’s parent’s and her family’s status may have caused Cressida to have the desires to get with Harry and to come apart of the firm. I am glad that Cressida took a step back, despite the pressures propelling her forward to marry into a “good name”. She realized what she wanted and carefully chose not to go forward with it. I think that it’s great that she is true to herself and has ambitions and goals that she wants to pursue and is doing so. Sometimes we as human beings need to try other things before we decide what is right for us. One things for sure, I see a Cressida that appears to be more sure of herself and more comfortable pursuing her own ambitions than any of the pics I saw of her dating Harry.

You know, Leaflet, I think your last sentence is the quote to take from this thread and I could not agree more. She does, indeed, look happier on her own; running around town doing her thing, looking sloppy. I never thought she was that in to Harry; always looking pretty bored, with few exceptions. I’m not Cressie’s biggest fan, but good for her for going her own way.
