Kit Harington & Rose Leslie really are dating in real life: adorable or twee?

Almost a year ago, we learned that Kit Harington and Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones’ Jon Snow and Ygritte) had broken up. They had started dating while filming GoT and, by my calculations, dated for probably about a year. Then they broke up last August. And now they’re back together! They flew to California together just before Comic-Con, and they didn’t seem to mind that they were photographed together at LAX (I’m including those photos in the post). So what happened? Just young lovers doing a breakup-and-makeup cycle?

Jon Snow and Ygritte are back together! Former Game of Thrones costars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are dating again, a source tells Us Weekly exclusively.

“They’ve been back on for about three months,” an insider tells Us. “That said, it’s casual right now and they’re having fun. They’re not moving in together or anything like that yet.” (Leslie’s GoT character, wildling warrior Ygritte, died in lover Jon Snow’s arms during the recently concluded season four.)

Harington and Leslie, both 27, initially ended their one year romance last August. The Brits first sparked speculation of a reconciliation last month when they were photographed arriving at Los Angeles International Airport together before attending a panel for the fantasy series at Comic-Con in San Diego.

The London residents knew each other before the HBO show, but their friendship turned romantic while working on set. In March, Leslie only had nice words to say about her on-again beau.

“I don’t think he considers himself a heartthrob,” she joked to Us about Harington’s hunk status. “He’s a lovely man!”

As far as fantasy GoT couples come to life, I’m not terribly interested in this one. Give me Pedro Pascal and Lena Headley (I think they actually did date briefly) or some hot direwolf action. But I’m happy that Kit and Rose found their way back to each other and I like that it’s not some huge drama between them.

Unfortunately, Rose and Kit won’t be working together again anytime soon. Jon Snow is about have a big season, I think?

Aw, why not? They both seem nice. Hope they’re happy.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

      That pillow-weeper never looks happy.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

LOL, oh no. Do you think he weeps after they have sex?

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

I think he weeps if she passes the salt at the dinner table.

I don’t understand why this man always looks as if someone just kicked his puppy.

      • mayamae says:

It works for the character. Does he look like that in his daily life?

      • JennySerenity says:

Ahhh! TOK, you said that yesterday, too.

WHY do you think my bastard Stark boy cries after doing the deed? I’m already devastated to learn he’s short and probably only reaches boob height to my 5’8″. Now, you’ve voted him a sex-weeper twice in a row. Please explain, for why??

      • gefeylich says:

He never looks happy because he’s the only actor on GoT whom most people (at the very least) think is bad in the role of Jon Snow, if not completely terrible (I’m in the latter group). And my respect for Leslie has just plummeted into the sewer.

Is she nuts? She worked around these presentable and talented, if not totally hot, guys on Downton Abbey AND GoT, and THIS wooden fat faced midget Michael Hutchence wannabe is who she chooses to get with? Bleah. They both suck.

    • Rice says:

I loved Jon and Ygritte and I love Kit and Rose. Good for them. GoT all the way!!

  2. Sixer says:

She’s just done a great turn in Utopia S2. I really like her, so if she really likes him beyond his decorative value, good for her. Not twee.

  3. embertine says:

Let’s hope he has the same, um, skills that Jon Snow turns out to have in the cavern scene…

  4. Lilacflowers says:

Can she coax a smile out of him? The man seems incapable of smiling.

  5. mari says:

Kit Harrington (and therefore Jon Snow) is so off-putting. Just yuck.

  6. Mrs. Darcy says:

Someone needs to teach him to buy jeans that don’t make his legs look so stumpy – skinny crops are not your friend short men! I do think they make a cute couple, not twee at all.

  7. Jenny12 says:

Sometimes I really think I should start watching TV; I never know any of these couples.

  8. mom2two says:

It seems like these two are back on although they do not do coupley stuff in front of the cameras.
I would say, out of GoT fantasy hookups-I would have totally been down for Pedro Pascal and Lena Headley, way more interesting and hotter together than these two. I swore the way Pedro and Lena behaved together that they were dating. They have a ton of chemistry.
I think the opportunity for Jon Snow to have a big season has passed. Kit’s no great shakes as an actor but part of the problem is the show isn’t terribly interested in writing for the character and now that Stannis, Davos and Melisandre (three other characters they are not terribly interested in writing for either) are in his storyline, I have a feeling (and fear) that none of those actors will have moments that stand out. I think the characters who will have a big season this year will be Lena Headley’s Cersei, Natalie Dormer’s Margaery and probably Alexander Siddig’s Doran Martell.
It also doesn’t help that Allistar Throne seemed more like a leader at the Wall than Jon Snow did last season, especially during that final battle.
I doubt this is celebitchy coverage worthy… but both Pedro Pascal and Richard Madden were at Tampa Bay Comic Con this year, making a ton of fans very happy in TB.

    • original kay says:

just a case of the writers not doing a good job with the character.
most of Jon is in his head, and he is a great leader and character in the novels.

I know, I know, TV vs Novels again, it’s an old argument on this site by now. But seriously, of all the characters, they did the poorest job writing Jon Snow. He is, imo, one of the best characters in the series. The writers gave so much to Dany and she actually sucks. *laughs*

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Interesting point about most of Jon Snow’s character being in his head. I agree he was much more interesting in the book.

  9. Marty says:

That’s a really great traveling oufit on Rose.

  10. GeeMoney says:

They are really cute together… but snooze on this story.

  11. Barrett says:

I always thought he was hot, sadly my image of manly, tall jon snow is ruined because I can tell in real life that he is short! My image had been Tom cruised!

  12. Talie says:

Rose is part of the aristocracy, believe it or not, she grew up in a castle!

    • epiphany says:

Kit’s also an aristocrat – he’s family tree can be traced back to William the Conqueror, he’s a direct descendant of Charles II, and his grandfather is a baronet. Rose’s family are Scottish chieftains, and she did grow up in a castle (Lickeyhead Castle, no kidding) , albeit a small one. It’s now a B&B which can be rented for events, because owning a castle is expensive! It was also up for sale a while back, no takers.

  13. FingerBinger says:

They make a cute couple. Hopefully she isn’t as annoying in real life as she was on GOT.

  14. allons-y alonso says:

A big season for Jon Snow? You know nothing, HBO!!!!

    • epiphany says:

I may tick off Maisie Williams, but if you read the books, you would know Jon Snow isn’t going anywhere, despite what you saw onscreen. . Jon Snow is the focal point of the entire GoT saga.
Nearly everything that’s occurred in some way alludes to him, even if he wasn’t involved in the scene – it’s often very subtle, but it’s there. Jon himself doesn’t know what his destiny is, but it’s going to be epic.

  15. khaveman says:

I really like them together. And unlike some, I think he dresses well. His body is great.

  16. Hissyfit says:

Aww. I didn’t even know they dated. They look cute together!

  17. Anony says:

I honestly find it weird when on screen couples become real life couples. I would actually prefer it didn’t happen so frequently. It makes me think actors can’t separate between their real lives and their fake lives. Further that they aren’t really acting just reading lines as themselves. It also makes me wonder what happens when the on-screen couple breaks up? Do they break up in real life too? It makes actors seem simple minded an at the will of whoever writes the plots for their characters rather than freely thinking beings with free will.

    That’s just my take.

    • Isadora says:

I don’t think it’s always confusing their roles with real life. It’s just that a lot of people get to know each other through their job and working together and it’s no different for actors. On-screen couples spend probably a lot more time together than with the rest of the cast and filming is always a thing of having long, long hours and lots of small breaks in between. So you spend a lot of time together and a considerable amount between takes where you probably chat a bit or eat something together etc. So you get to know the other person better. Plus actors are often rather attractive people, they do the same thing for a living and have therefore maybe similar interest and experiences and if you cast an on-screen couple you cast people who have some kind of chemistry and preferably get along. So practically it’s all a good recipe to fall in love, no matter what their characters do in the story.

  18. Shantal says:

Why does he always look on the verge of bursting into tears?
