OK! Mag says Jennifer Garner is pregnant: pure speculation or could be true?

OK! Magazine is known for making up celebrity pregnancy stories to move copies, so take this story for what it is: speculation on the state of Jennifer Garner’s womb based on some unflattering photos of her. While the title says “Jen’s Pregnant,” that’s not what the article claims at all. Inside, the magazine claims that Garner and Affleck have been in therapy, that they want to have a fourth child and that it could be happening for them, judging from recent photos of Garner. If that’s what’s going on good for them, but this reads like wishful thinking on OK!’s part. They don’t even quote a “source” to confirm this alleged pregnancy, the “source” only talks about the state of the Garner-Affleck’s marriage. Plus in new photos (the striped shirt photos here are from yesterday) Garner looks less “pregnant” and more like she’s wearing a loose shirt. Here’s part of OK!’s cover story:

Insiders are reporting that Jen, who on July 18 was spotted in L.A. with a noticeable bump, is likely already expecting! If so, it would be perfect timing.

“They’ve been going through a very rough patch,” says an insider, “and Jen will do anything to make Ben happy.”

Ben, 41, who’s currently filming Batman v Superman in Detroit, has proven himself a doting family man. But he’s becoming increasingly restless in recent years, risking large sums at casinos in Las Vegas – and even during his downtime in Detroit. He’s also managed to ignite several cheating rumors, which echo his 2003 scandal, when a Vancouver stripper said they hooked up during his engagement to Jennifer Lopez.

Sources say that Jen, 42, knows another pregnancy is the only surefire way to get Ben to refocus on their relationship – even though she’s the one making the compromise…

But with their share of marital woes – and having already tried counseling, to no great effect – the source says, “Having another baby may be their last-ditch effort to mend the marriage.”

[From OK! Magazine, print edition, August 11, 2014]

Garner has looked pregnant to me when she wasn’t before, particularly because she’s so thin and wears a lot of baggy clothing. I also think when she gains a little weight or eats something that makes her gassy her stomach puffs out. She looks more pregnant than she has in the past, but it’s hard to tell and I doubt she is. I could be wrong, she could be expecting another one. I get the sense that she wouldn’t mind and that she’s going to do the heavy lifting anyway, which is basically what Affleck has said in interviews, that she’s the hands-on parent. OK! quotes Garner saying in 2012 that “I am not anticipating having any more kids!” and that “it will be an uphill battle” to convince her despite the fact that Ben wants kids.

Why not? A baby fixes everything! Ben can even bet on whether it’s a boy or a girl.

    • Lady Macbeth (Hiddles F) says:

Lol no please, let’s hope she is not. Poor baby number four…

    • Decloo says:

Exactly. Since when is bringing a new baby into a troubled marriage the way to heal the rift?

    • dh says:

      Hahaa!!

    • Sabrine says:

I doubt it. She’s had this before and it’s no big deal. Her stomach muscles are a little weak from having three children and it could also be either a food or time of the month gut, i.e. a normal woman. These sites need to relax and stop with the stupid rumors.

  2. don't kill me i'm french says:

She often looks pregnant of 4 months (Maybe she just forgot to wear her spanx)

    • Jaxx says:

Could she forget to wear her Spanx? It’s possible, but she knows how this works. If she wasn’t pregnant and just had a burrito belly I think she would suck it in when the paps are around. I vote pregs. Lunch bloat is usually softer looking and a little lower. Her belly looks rounded and firm up around the belly button and that’s 4-month fetus. I may be wrong, but I don’t think so. I also don’t think she would have another baby to keep Ben. He can’t ever go anywhere unless he wants to wreck his career and probably his life. She keeps him focused and he knows it. He may slide into his vices some, but she’ll put a stop to it before he destroys himself. He counts on that too. Those two are in this for the long haul. At least until the kiddos are raised. I don’t enjoy their movies, but I think they are a lovely family and I wish them the very best.

  3. Splinter says:

A baby sure can cure all marriage problems!

  4. StormsMama says:

Hmm tough to say bc I have that belly all the time haha but on her it *could* mean a baby is on board. I hope they are happy and can stay together.

  5. eliza says:

    A 911 Band-Aid baby.

  6. Bridget says:

The woman has had 3 kids. While we’ve become used to the “hot body after baby” culture with celebrities, the truth is that it DOES change your body. It’s entirely possible that she could be pregnant with #4, but it’s also entirely possible she’s not and just had a big lunch, especially since a shift dress like that highlights any tummy. And if she’s not pregnant, this speculation is mean.

    • Lori says:

^^^This. All of this! I think its mommy tummy not baby belly. And my source is my own body. That’s why so many of us stop wearing shift dresses and switch to wrap dresses after children.

    • lucy2 says:

Completely agree – I hate pregnancy speculation by the tabloids, it’s rude and no one’s business.

    • JennySerenity says:

ITA! Not only are her husband’s indiscretions splashed all over the tabs, but a mom of three who is gorgeous IMO has her body critiqued no matter how fit she is. I know you’re supposed to “expect” this treatment as the price of celebrity, but it feels unkind. Or maybe I’m just sensitive in her case bc I like her so much. Whatever, I agree.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Agree. The “bump watch” (hate that expression) has gotten really mean and out of control in past couple of years. She has 3 kids, maybe she just has a little tummy. I agree with JennySerenity that celebrities have to put up with more scrutiny than “ordinary” people, but what if someone was struggling with fertility or body image issues? This could really hurt. An article like that one pointing at your stomach, or remember the one pointing at Kim K’s “arm fat” and I don’t even like her – it’s as if women have no right to exist if their bodies aren’t perfect. I’m tired of it.

      • Bridget says:

Bump-watch has turned into the socially acceptable way to tell a woman that it’s looking fat. While I think that there’s a trade-off when it comes to celebrity – money, fame, dream job in exchange for some inconvenient criticism and loss of privacy – this kind of thing is different. It just subtley perpetuates the expectation that women should have perfect bodies and that something has to be wrong with a woman if she gains weight. I don’t like this.

  7. Jaderu says:

Oh man, can you imagine having pregnancy rumors hurled at you and splashed in the tabloids every time your belly was protruding because of a certain shirt or an extra croissant at breakfast?
I could never be a celebrity. I’d be bawling in the fetal position in the corner most of the day.

    • WTF says:

The money helps ease the pain. If I had$50 million in the bank, I wouldn’t give two sh*ts if people assumed I was pregnant all the time.
But then again, I don’t have any money and I still don’t care.

    • Eleonor says:

her supposed “pregnant” belly looks like mine on a regular base.

  8. Pixiestix says:

This gal just has no everyday style. I get being comfy but Lordy.

  9. Talie says:

I feel so bad for her — he couldn’t look any less interested when they are together.

  10. Sherry says:

I saw a photo on the Mail about a week ago and she looked pregnant. It was more than just a bloated looking tummy area. It looked like early pregnancy bump to me. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2713600/Jennifer-Garner-steps-solo-stroll-amid-pregnancy-rumours.html

    • don't kill me i'm french says:

      +1

    • Belle says:

Was going to mention these photos (from DM). While I don’t necessarily think she looks pregnant in the photos posted above, unless the DM pics are photo shopped, she definitely looks pregnant in those (IMO).

  11. kcarp says:

isn’t this the same mag that says Jennifer Aniston prego every week? Who cares if she is pregnant..Just another kid for them to roll out when they need good coverage for the Oscars or to squash marriage trouble rumors.

  12. Jag says:

She looks pregnant to me. There have been so many blinds where it’s thought that every time Ben wants to leave, she gets pregnant; him leaving her with children and while pregnant would be a horrible PR move, so he stays. I can believe it. (Especially with his recent gambling binge. It’s alleged that he also cheats while he gamble-binges, too.)

    • Bridget says:

Ben Affleck will never leave Jennifer Garner, because if he did he would kid his career goodbye. She was a huge part of his image rehab and he knows it. I while I don’t doubt that they’ve had some pretty rocky periods (including this one) she doesn’t need to get pregnant for him to stay.

  13. Jessica says:

If she’s not it will surprise me. She looks pregnant in this pic. Plus, it seems like all their kids are three years apart.

  14. Brin says:

There were rumors and tummy pics a few months ago and I thought she was then so who knows.
    Baby or burrito….time will tell.

  15. Jenny12 says:

Those Daily Mail photos do look like a baby bump….

  16. Sam says:

I tend to believe it – isn’t she better known now for having kids then any film career? A child would be an asset to her “brand” at this point.

(and frankly, I think that’s a shame. She did a very decent job in Dallas Buyer’s Club, so it’s regretable that she got pegged as a “mommy celeb.”)

  17. Aussie girl says:

Forget about the baby! I can’t get past how fug Ben looks in his leather jacket and the hair!

  18. Kate says:

I highly doubt she is pregnant. Her face looks too thin and boobs are too small for early pregnancy. I have also had three kids and am still skinny everywhere but the “pooch” which won’t go away! I’m calling bigtime BS.

  19. Seapharris7 says:

Jen & Ben seem to have an MO: Whenever his addiction issues surface & tabloids start “trouble in paradise” stories – she ends up pregnant.

All I’ll say is for all those struggling with fertility issues must loathe Jennifer for being able to will her uterus into conceiving to “keep her man”

  20. HadleyB says:

At least this one is more believable than saying Jen A is pregnant.

  21. Ginger says:

The photos shown here I could say she just has a “burrito baby” but the Daily Mail photos show that her boobs are also bigger. She may just be preggers.

  22. caitlin2 says:

As Celebitchy put it, she is quite thin, so a large meal can make her look pregnant for goodness sake. All of this nonsense about “Bandaid Baby” is laughable – as though she can (at her age) get pregnant at will. Right.

    • Sherry says:

She’s not that old. I had Baby #1 at 34, #2 at 39 and #3 at 41. I am fortunate that I had zero problems getting pregnant with any of them. With Babies #1 and #2, I got pregnant the second month of trying and with #3 I got pregnant immediately the first month we started trying. Maybe their chemistry just works well for making babies.

      • caitlin2 says:

I got pregnant at 40+ myself with no problem, but according to science, we are both anomalies. The chances of getting pregnant at 40+ are pretty slim, and certainly the odds are not as good as for younger women.

  23. Fan says:

It’s true and pregnant again. Is this her way of holding on to Ben?

  24. shannon says:

baby for sure. someone has Gone Girl to promote, no? and who wants gambling/drinking rumors following you on the press tour when it could be baby news!

  25. Dawn says:

Who can believe a word that magazine says. If I don’t hear it from the Celeb’s mouth or on a site I trust I don’t believe it ever. But that’s just me!

  26. Jayna says:

Ben wanted another child, and she said three was enough. Maybe he got her to change her mind now that the baby is getting a little older.

  27. Fan says:

I remember watching the movie Ben’s action movie. Her scene with him under the rain was palpable. I could even feel their chemistry. I’m pretty sure that J-Lo must have felt threatened. Ben why are you such a …… You are so lucky you married a good wife.

  28. Hissyfit says:

Well, atleast they make cute babies.

  29. captain says:

Great news. Doesn’t look like a mommy belly to me at all. She is too fit for this, not like some regular person. Even though I don’t like her husband and think he’s totally overrated as actor/director, but she is so lovely and their family seems so nice, just want them all to be happy.

  30. JoJo says:

Ugh. Who knows. These two are going to continue marching along because it’s best for both of them. One comment on her general style though. I could never put my finger on why her clothes look so odd on her. I realized, she has a long torso and her legs, while not short, aren’t all that long. She wears really low-waisted, skinny jeans and also wears flats, all of which elongate her middle section/torso and make her legs look even shorter. She needs a stylist to pick better-cut jeans for her. Just sayin!

    • Lena says:

This is another reason I wouldn’t want to be an actress. Nowadays as an actress you have to worry about your “style” and “brand” (actually I don’t think she worries about either, everybody here just assumes she should care). When I was younger, we had supermodels to look to for style and actresses were just expected to act and nobody cared about all this other stuff they expect from them all now.

By the way, I’m in the camp – “”not pregnant” “chipotle baby”

  31. Andrea says:

Her stomach looks like mine when I am on my period and just ate a burrito—literally. I would be surprised she is pregnant at her age (does anyone else find it odd that SOOO many celebrities are getting pregnant in their 40″s?? IVF for almost all of them??)
