Is The Strain a good show? It looks interesting, but I can’t bring myself to watch it for some reason.

I tried with the first couple of episodes cause I dig Corey loved him in Law And Order LA but damn it’s kinda boring and why are his clothes so tight?
The first two episodes are kinda slow because it needs to build up the story and whatnot, but it does get better. Give it a try.
Does it get better? I read all the books and loved them but was really disapointed by the first episode and so although I’ve been recording them on my DVR I haven’t watched them yet.
I actually like The Strain a lot. It is different and it holds my interest. You should give it a try.

Bible class! Oh brother. Her and Bieber’s PR team are working overtime to try to clean up the bad press they’ve both been receiving lately for their sketchy behavior. When Selena was younger, she was able to coast on her marginal talent due to her cuteness and youthful, squeaky clean image for her tween and teen audience. Now that she’s getting older and trying deperately to shed her wholesome image by hanging out with a wild, hard partying crowd known for drug use and alcohol abuse, I think it’s backfiring on her. That recent pic of her wearing those attention seeking cut-offs out in public with her butt on full display and all the drug and booze rumors going around about her are not helping to improve her image. Associating with Bieber isn’t helping either. But attending a bible class with him, I guess is their way of trying to buffer the backlash she always receives when she’s back with him.
I think I’m done paying attention to her. If she does something interesting creatively or starts to make some choices other than the same old same old, I’ll consider starting to care again.

I wish Brad Pitt would issue a statement about what happened to Mike Brown and what is happening in Ferguson (not to mention our society as a whole). I don’t mean to put Brad on the spot as he does many, many wonderful things for our world at large. But he has the power to make real change and he is a very responsible human being. I think he could help bring a lot of peace not only to Brown’s family and friends but thousands of citizens in the state. Brad has the ability to both make people listen and to act.

Pitt left Missouri 30yrs ago and is from Springfield, at the opposite end of the state. He has no ties to Ferguson and is no better equipped to dispense advice on that situation than he is to practice medicine.

I admit this wasn’t a very well written post on my part and for that I am sorry. I wrote it before the name of the police department released the name of the officer involved. I realize he cannot stop what is happening there, but my thoughts at the time were that if he were to make a statement about the social injustice taking place, it would help to put pressure on the police department to take a few steps in the right direction. I know BP isn’t the answer, but celebrities often have sway in matters of social injustice. Clooney in Darfur for instance. But all of you are correct, at this point, with the name of the officer now available there is certainly nothing BP can do. It is horribly sad and scary and hopefully enough people can work toward peace. We need it.

I don’t believe that it’s always the parents fault if the child turns out badly, but in this case, I do. That idiot mother signed papers to allow her 16 year old to marry a 51 year old. That is sick and disgusting. I feel sorry for Courtney. She never had a chance with parents like that.
Yes, I agree. There is a lot of grey area in parenting but this isn’t one of those cases. It appears that the mother (and father?) actively pursued, encouraged, and facilitated this life for their child. And she always looks sort of vacant and sad to me. Awful.

Actually, I’m not sure the Bible specifically addresses that. I’ve seen a lot of attempts to turn different passages into an admonition to refrain from premarital sex but I’ve never seen a passage where it’s clearly stated. I’m not a Bible scholar, though, and I don’t take the Bible literally. I’m a Christian and I had sex before I married, and I don’t see feel any conflict. Nobody got hurt. Lol
Google Bible and sex before marriage. You’ll find that according to the Bible it’s immoral and therefore a sin.
The Bible does not say specifically that premarital sex is a sin. Trying reading the Bible, not googling. There are passages that can certainly be interpreted that way, but it does not get specific, as it does with adultery.
