Condolences to Nicole Kidman, such sad news.

  2. lunchcoma says:

I guess Chris Evans surprised me, but I’m still not going to bet on Katie Holmes having an inner director inside of her. She’s been in the public eye for about 15 years, and I’ve never gotten a hint of her having creative aspirations beyond acting. She also doesn’t come across as being particularly thoughtful visionary in her interviews. I’ve heard she’s very bright, but I haven’t ever seen that translate into her work. I think she’s looking around for an identity now that her acting career appears to have stalled, but I think sticking with the designer plan was a better idea.

    • Kiddo says:

The designer thing bombed, though, didn’t it?

      • Candy Love says:

Yes it did and it wasn’t good to begin with.

      • lunchcoma says:

It did, but I think I would have liked to see her invest more effort in it or give it another shot. I get the feeling she’s sort of flailing around, doing various projects here and there but not investing much in them and walking away if there are challenges.

    • Tiffany :) says:

She doesn’t strike me as being very creative, especially visually. Her fashion line makes me think that she would have an uphill struggle as a director. She seems to lack a point of view.

      • Lex says:

The two are hardly connected. Have you seen many fashionable directors?

      • Isadora says:

Maybe not “fashionable”, but some directors have not only a unique filming style but also a unique personal style. It’s not always connected of course, but think about David Lynch or Jim Jarmusch. Other directors (probably most) have a personal style that says very clearly that they don’t give a **** about their clothes and such things. Like a lot of men, they don’t even try.

Katie Holmes on the other hand is neither, she always tries to be very fashionable and sometimes she is quite cute and sometimes she is simply boring and “safe”. I hope her directional style isn’t like that.

      • Tiffany :) says:

Um, designer Tom Ford. Check out the film he directed, A Single Man with Colin Firth and Julianne Moore. It was breath taking and powerful. He has a great eye for visuals.

      • lucy2 says:

        Tom Ford’s movie was gorgeous.

I can see looking at her fashion line as an example of her aesthetics, but maybe she’ll surprise everyone and be a good director. Or not. Either way, good for her for trying.

  3. tifzlan says:

Condolences to Nicole Kidman. My grandfather passed away a month ago after a very brief battle with cancer and it still shocked me greatly. Can’t imagine what the Kidmans are going through now.

  4. Dany says:

    oh my.

Sorry, nothing against her personal, but she is a terrible actress. I don´t understand why Katie still gets jobs… as actress or now as director.

    • GirlyGirl says:

I don’t think she’ll do well, all the directors I know can make at least 2 distinct facial expressions.

That sideways crooked smile of hers will be useless on set 😛

      • Josephine says:

I agree that she will not do well, and I can’t help but wonder how she keeps getting opportunities when she never delivers on any of them.

But the smile isn’t her fault – she had Bell’s Palsy,

      • Bridget says:

You know she can smile regularly, right? But the bashful, half smile was kind of her girl next door signature.

      • Chris says:

If she’s making films in Hollywood being a visionary and having something to say isn’t required. So she’ll be adequate.

      • LAK says:

I thought Bell’s Palsy was a temporary affliction with no permanent side effects.

If she had the condition, she must have had it very young because she’s always smiled and talked this way since her debut on Dawson’s Creek.

      • Lady D says:

I somehow got Bell’s Palsy a few years ago. The symptoms lasted about 6-8 weeks, except for a slightly droopy eyelid that lasted about 18 months. For the first 10 days, I had to tape my eyelid shut at night. I also took about a million steroid tablets. At the end of the first month I was at the dr.’s quite indignant about the complete lack of muscles I had from the steroids. Turns out there is more than one kind.

    • Sabrine says:

She’s NOT boring, nope, not at all, very talented……yawn…….zzzzzzzzz

    • Belle Epoch says:

Katie Holmes isn’t especially good at anything she has tried professionally. I dislike her because she lies like a rug (remember the marathon where she magically appeared at the finish line – and wore heels that night?). I also can’t stand her smirk, which is not Bells Palsy but an affectation reflecting how smug she is. Why would anyone give her a chance to direct? Isn’t it rather difficult and demanding to be a female director? I think someone else is going to provide the vision and she’ll stick her name on it. Maybe she’ll try novels next – with a ghostwriter.

  5. Marianne says:

Good for her….I guess? She’s so blase that its kind of hard to get excited over this achievement.

As for Mark Ruffalo – LET HIM! I need more Mark Ruffalo in my life.

  6. Candy Love says:

    Condolences to Nicole Kidman.

  7. Smithblarg says:

I would love Katie Holmes to surprise everyone. Wouldn’t that be AMAZING? To wake up one morning and realize Katie Holmes is a visionary director and she was just fooling us this whole time. I’m telling you – it would be earth shattering for the gossip world.

    • Diane says:

I’ll believe it when I see it. The most I can muster up about Katie Holmes is a resounding ‘ho-hum.’ She’s a TV actress at best and comes off as supremely boring. I never saw her as an edgy, creative person. She probably thinks, hey, I’ve been around directors for years…I can do that. Can’t wait.

  8. Al says:

I wish celebitchy would stop covering content about celeb kids. It somehow feels unbecoming and tasteless.

  9. Tiffany27 says:

I’m not a fan of Iggy, but I feel bad for her. You can’t even bounce on a d*ck anymore without fearing it will be released, or send pics, or send any kind of sexy message to your s.o.

    • pamspam says:

      Ok, that made me laugh.

      Sad, but true…

    • Tiffany :) says:

:: pulls on hair and shouts to the sky ::

What is this world coming too?!?!?!!!

For every guy that sells out his old girlfriend like this, there are 100 other guys who won’t get to have fun in this way with their s.o because the women are afraid of leaks.

  10. samtha says:

Return of the booties! Katie’s skin looks amazing. I wonder what she does/uses to get that glow.

So sad about Nicole Kidman’s dad. 🙁

  11. Miss T says:

I’m not a huge fan of Katie’s but I think a lot of people underestimate her as both a person and actress. She seems awkward and shy, but I think there’s a quiet confidence to her. She’s got a lot of interesting projects coming up. I’d like to see her surprise people and shine.

So sorry to hear about Nicole Kidman’s father. My thoughts are with her and her family.

  12. Delta Juliet says:

Her outfit totally looks like something I would wear, minus those beige booties. I wonder where that sweater is from?

  13. Lydia says:

I have decided that I am going to be supportive of any woman Trying To Do Things. Go for it, sis. Make it good.

  14. mary simon says:

Is she still wearing those same damn divorce boots?

  15. Lux says:

That movie is sounding a lot like Gilmore Girls…

  16. Reece says:

This is all over the place but here we go…

    1) I’m very sorry for Nicole and her family. It sounds like he died in an awful way. Whichever one it is.

    2) Umm, ok. I’ll have to wait and see on Katie the Director.
2b) I think I actually hate those boots MORE than I hate Duchess Kate’s’ wedges. I want to burn them with napalm!

    3) That SS song is not a remix. It’s the same bloody song with a rap added to it! Damn record companies think people are stupid, Really? Really?? Bite Me record execs! I’m done with the “add a pinch of rap”.

  17. Anath Pariah says:

Does it even matter if Iggy Azalea made a sex tape? I’ve always figured she’s owed her career to her “connections” anyway. Can’t she fade back into the Tumblr vacuum of obscurity from whence she came?

  18. Isadora says:

Ok, I understand that nobody cares, but I feel kind of bad for Grumpy Cat. Just because she looks the way she looks (which is incredibly cute) she’s turned into a show sensation and money machine for their owners. First it was only internet memes, which is of course harmless. Then all the meet and greet stuff with all kinds of celebrities, photo calls, the red carpet appearences (and red carpets are CRAZY even for humans who understand what’s happening), the filmography. Ugh… the poor animal.

    • Ruyana says:

I completely agree with you! Let the poor cat rest! They’re subjecting her to far too much stress.

    • lucy2 says:

I know – I remember they did something in Times Square once, and all I could think about was how overwhelmed that cat must be. I have no issue with them taking photos and selling merchandise, I think that’s great and I know they donate to shelters with some of the proceeds, so that’s awesome, but I hope they are very selective about bringing her out of her home environment.

  19. Teresa_Maria says:

What is it with Katie and those boots? She has been sporting the exact same look for years and I honestly think this is not the best style for her body-type. I have the same built as her (slim and tall, but wider on hips and thighs) and there are jeans (and boots for that matter) more flattering than the ones she seems to love.

    • CF98 says:

Because she likes them and they’re comfortable? I mean really its nice to see a celeb wear something more than once like the rest of us.
