Tom Hardy and Charlotte Riley have been together (on and off) for years now. I think they’ve only been “off” a few times, but they’ve seemed especially tight for the past few years. Tom proposed to Charlotte at some point, and she’s usually identified as his “fiancée” although Tom usually calls her his “wife,” which has led to some confusion in the press. Are they married? Did they have some kind of secret wedding? No one really knew for sure. This weekend, The Sun (via the Mail) claimed that Tom and Charlotte actually did get married for real. Two months ago!
Fans of Hollywood megastar Tom Hardy will no doubt be devastated to discover the handsome heart throb reportedly tied the knot a whole two months ago, according to The Sun On Sunday. Tom, 37, and his actress girlfriend Charlotte Riley, 32, have been engaged since 2010, since meeting on the set of Wuthering Heights a year earlier, but the nuptials were kept under wraps.
The paper claims that the pair exchanged their vows on July 4 at the Chateau de Roussan in the South of France – with just a small group of friends and family in tow. Also in attendance was Tom’s six-year-old son Louis, whom he had with his ex-girlfriend Rachael Speed. It’s Hardy’s second marriage, after his nuptials to Sarah Ward ended in 2004 after five years.
A source told the paper: ‘It was a beautiful, low-key day made even more special because they just had their closest friends and family around them. Tom’s son Louis played a key role during the ceremony. And they made certain to pick a stunning and private setting. There was nothing flash about the wedding, they always said they wanted it to be about the two of them and their family rather than any grand gesture.’
If this is what happened, good for them. Good for them for doing it their way and good for them for keeping it so quiet. That being said… it really did seem like they already considered themselves married. They live together, they share a life together, they are extremely supportive of each other’s careers. They also raise several dogs together. He calls her Charlie, which I find adorable. So… Tom Hardy is officially off the market. But it’s okay. Tom has said before that he’s very needy and demands lots of attention in relationships, so maybe it’s better that Charlotte deal with him rather than any of us.

..I guess all that Noomi Rapace stuff that Lainey was reporting was all smoke and mirrors.
I think him and Noomi might have had something since Tom lets his current relationships bleed into the next. He and Charlotte were also separated for long periods at a time (apparently Charlotte taught him the art of handwritten letters!) and he hung out with Noomi a lot. But I think they really wanted to make it work. They are very precious about each other. But yeah, I don’t think Tom was celibate during their break-ups.
That said, remember how Lainey kept going on and on about how great Chris Martin and Paltrow were? And how she went on and on about him and Alexa Chung once the separation came out? And then…Martin Lawrence happened. No word on why her sources didn’t know that the marriage was over for a whole year, no word on what happened to Chung. Nothing. Her sources must be in her own head because she’s been wrong a lot lately.

So, they actually got married this time, and it’s not just gossip to increase clicks and money for newspaper write up and magazines? Cool.
I hope they do workout, and stay married for a long time, but I’m always iffy with it comes to on/off relationships, but that’s because I’ve had really close friends be in long term on/off relationships, then got married, and now they’re miserable, if they had the money, they’d divorce their SOs in a heartbeat.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he did marry in secret, but kind of surprised at the same time, because they already live a like they’re married, what’s the point of getting married if you already live the lifestyle? Just curious, benefits maybe.
I don’t mind sharing him with Charlotte. I am a very generous woman. No, really, congrats and happiness to them if they did get married. I am free to imagine all sorts of naughty as long as I like…tee hee.
