Tom Hiddleston tweets support for Emma Watson & UN ‘HeForShe’ campaign

hiddles heforshe

Holy crap this is a great photo of Tom Hiddleston!!! The Dragonfly Overlords have finally come for me because yes, Hiddleston looks beautiful and I would hit it.

What was I supposed to talk about? Oh, yeah. Tom Hiddleston tweeted out support for Emma Watson and for the launch of the new UN program, HeForShe. The program aims to include men in the conversation about feminism, because feminism is about equality. Tommy tweeted the above photo with the message to Emma’s Twitter: “@EmWatson you are impeccable & extraordinary. I stand with you. I believe in gender equality. #heforshe.” He also tweeted out the video of Emma’s speech.

Awesome. This is the whole goal of HeForShe. More high-profile men and more men in general need to step up and identify as feminists and actively pursue gender equality. Good for the Dragonfly King. I do wonder though… is this going to lead to gossip about Emma and Tommy? I really don’t want to see them together. She’s too young for him!

Oh, and this happened too Hiddles posed in a t-shirt for charity this week.

Let’s get even more men on board! Woo hoo!

  2. 'P'enny says:

about time! thank you and yes, that photo is very very good, the curls on top his head are lovely.. the eyes, the scruff, and cheekbones to cut glass.

    And, yes very important message.

Back to Tom, Mr Skull Island adventurer, is not dating Emma W, but I think she is friends with his younger sister, [same school] and tom and emma share the same publicist.

  3. ciel says:

    they share a publicist, so…

    • Mot says:

I know a lot of people said this yesterday but who cares what all their motives are? If the result is net positive, that’s what’s important.

      • Erinn says:

It’s one of those things that it’s like ‘hey that’s a good thing to do’ but I don’t feel like bragging it up as truly altruistic. Still – the results are good, but it does seem a bit contrived even if it’s not.

      • delorb says:

        @Mot,

They did the same thing after Emma’s speech. “Its just PR.” >eye roll< But I have to admit that I'm shocked it happen to Tommy in this place. One has to take into account that celebrities get the word out and if more people here about this campaign, the better we'll all be. Well done to both of them.

    • Lilacflowers says:

The idea of the campaign is to get men to stand up FOR women’s rights internationally. It’s a UN campaign, not a Luke Windsor campaign.

    • Sixer says:

Well, you know, EVERYTHING in showbiz is nepotistic, incestuous and PR-driven. I’m the first to acknowledge that.

Nevertheless, I shall be keeping a keen eye on which male celebrities speak up for #heforshe and those that do will go up in my estimation. And I’ll be noting the abstainers, too.

      • Amelia says:

Simon Pegg already has on Twitter. I do love good ol’ Nicholas Angle <3

      • 'P'enny says:

I find the Russell Crowe one hilarious, because if I am missing something he doesn’t strike the type who would be supporting this. He is the kind who wants his wife in the kitchen.

      • icerose says:

They are beginning to pop up Russel Crowe, the wonderful Neil Gamin ,Joseph Gordin Levitt but it is still only a trickle

      • Lilacflowers says:

Simon Pegg, JGL, Mark Ruffalo, Russell Crowe. I’m also taking note of how quickly they do it. Meanwhile, one of my state’s gubernatorial candidates just dismissed a female reporter’s question by calling her “sweetheart.” His supporters are screaming that it’s irrelevant and only “man-haters” have a problem but it isn’t the first time he has done it.

      • jammypants says:

For some reason I’d love to see Hugh Jackman do this. HE has so many male fans. It’d be great for them to be exposed to this through Mr. Wolverine.

      • Sixer says:

I’m a little bit in love with Mark Ruffalo, I think. I’m waiting on Danny Glover.

        Lilac: SIGH.

      • icerose says:

Mark Ruffalo just hits my admiration list for how outspoken he is about the issues that concern him.

      • Lilacflowers says:

I adore Mark Ruffalo in a totally platonic way and want to invite him over to dinner for political discussions.

      • Sixer says:

        Lilac, icerose.

Yes. I can’t really lust after Mark Ruffalo but he is one of the few celebrities out there who really manage to make me believe what they’re putting out is representative of the real person rather than a PR construct. I BELIEVE him, you know?

      • Lilacflowers says:

@icerose, Neil’s wife Amanda Palmer has been quite loud in her support of HeForShe so I would be surprised if he didn’t support it. Amanda is a force of nature.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Sixer, he seems quite willing to stand up for and take the heat for his beliefs.

    • Allegra says:

He also works for UNICEF as a junior ambassador.

    • icerose says:

130,000 have joined it so far-soit sounds as if lots of non celebs are posting which is great

  4. Anthea says:

Excellent. In the world of selfie obsessed nomark zelebrities people shouldn’t be hating on Emma. I’d be pretty happy if my daughter had turned out to be as elegant and articulate as her

  5. Angie says:

Pfff, after Emma presented with Joseph Gordon Lewitt at the oscars, lot of people (on twitter, gossips blogs…) wanted to see them together when they are both in a relationship. Emma prefers dating non famous guys – I think she even said so. She lives a low key life and seems happy, so good for her.

Tom has already supported Emma at several occasions: he gave her a GQ award last year and was at her lancome party circa 2012 (their photo booth pictures were cute). I don’t even know why I remember random things like that, such a no life XD. The British scene is small, almost all the young actors know each others.
They are two young British actors, slightly posh and educated who share the same publicist, so it’s not surprising they are friendly. I wouldn’t care if they hook up since I’m not a dragonfly or a big Emma’s fan. But their friendship is cute, better than a romance. Emma seems more like a little sister type to Tom, imo. It’s adorable.

I used to dislike her irrationally when I was a teen, just because she ruined Hermione for me. Now I like her, I still can’t with her acting, and she can be a little try hard but she seems like a nice and normal girl. She never says dumb or offensive stuff, she is more sensitive and educated than most starlets. Plus, I loved her speech for the heforshe campaign.

  6. Lilacflowers says:

May I be shallow for a moment and point out that the Vivienne Westwood t-shirt is too small through the upper arms and across the shoulders? Which is simply marvelous? But would be better if wet? Okay. I’m fine now.

    • joe spider says:

Haha Lilacflowers, it still does it for me but I see just where you are coming from.

I used to think this was my favourite Tom:

      http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_maruwr0xkL1qc3e8j.jpg

But I think this t-shirt Tom might just have overtaken it. Just that hint of mad, bad and dangerous to know about it. 🙂

      • 'P'enny says:

        @joe

that’s a nice pic, he’s in his transition phase there – all smooth & cute and now he has transitioned into my ruggedy man – with a side splash of, ‘oh God the last the two years have been hard and fun.’

      • Lilacflowers says:

@joe spider, that’s a lovely picture too. The t-shirt one seems like seams are about to burst in those little sleeves, which is just marvelous.

      • jammypants says:

I finally get the “channeling James Dean” thing the photographer went on about (which I totally didn’t see with that headshot a few weeks back). But this…I get.

      • icerose says:

@Jimmypants Gotts is an interesting photographer and his pictures of celebs are just so different from the photoshoots shots you usually get.I really like some of them gritty background and all

      • Lilacflowers says:

@jammypants, definitely getting the James Dean vibe and oh so masculine, even though Westwoods design isn’t. Gotta has raved about the High-Rise set pictures. Really interested in seeing more of them.

      • sigh((s)) says:

Unf. Falling over. I’ll help you save the arctic anyday, Tommy. You can be my Shackleton. Explore me. 🙂
Omg. I have officially gone mad.

    • icerose says:

a serious lack of nipples is all I have to say
The tshirt retails at £40 which seem to shock some people

  7. Chris says:

When will we know that equality has been achieved? What boxes need to be ticked?

    • Lilacflowers says:

When all adults have suffrage. When all who are equally qualified receive the same pay and benefits in the same job. When all have the same rights to own, inherit, buy and sell property regardless of gender. When all, with equal resources, have the same right to credit. When all who can pass a driver’s test can drive regardless of gender. When all have the right to attend school to obtain a basic education and aren’t denied because of gender. When all can wear ankle-revealing clothing or make-up in public without fear of violence. When these and similar questions no longer need to be asked.

    • feebee says:

Relax. Given that males have taken and been given priority status since pretty much the beginning of man, it’s a work in progress. It’s one thing to legislate (and really some are even having trouble there), it’s another to have true attitudinal change. It takes generations.

I mean how long since slavery was abolished? There’s still some attitude adjusting going on.

Obviously I can only speak for my culture, I’m afraid some others in other parts of the world have much more work to do. At least we’re working from a 20th century mindset (some are stuck in the 7th apparently).

    • M.A.F. says:

When women no longer have to answer the questions “well, what did you do to set him off?” and “what were you wearing when he raped you?”

      • joe spider says:

When they can go out without fear of being raped, or it being assumed “you were asking for it”.

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

When I can walk back to my apartment after a family dinner for my dad’s 70th birthday without having a car slow down to a stop, just so guys can harass me–because I was wearing a dress and heels so of course I wanted male attention.

      • Lilacflowers says:

When we no longer have elected officials who believe that uteruses know when a rape is occurring and automatically erect internal barriers to block sperm.

    • icerose says:

when there is an equal amount of men and women in government, the upper echelons of business and with in the media. When we do not here that Fox TV called the first women pilot tp bomb Syria “Boobs on the ground” and the comments after one article reinforce a sexist position.
When there is more diversity in in our actresses and actors and less need for them to have stereo type bodies.

    • Lilacflowers says:

When no gubernatorial candidate dares to repeatedly call female reporters “sweetheart ” and nobody rushes to defend one who does.

      • joe spider says:

Mind you Tom has been heard calling women darling – is that allowed?

      • Lilacflowers says:

@joe spider, was it dismissive? I don’t like when anyone uses endearments with strangers really, so I’m not giving him a pass on it and will send stern thoughts in his direction but he’s also not running to my governor, who must enforce state discrimination laws.

      • jammypants says:

He called Cumberbatch darling as well 😉

      • joe spider says:

@ lilacflowers, no it wasn’t in the way he said it. And I know he quoted his mother calling him darling over his Loki wig on TDW. But in the UK some people would think darling is a bit of a “luvvie” (actor) type word. Funnily enough I rarely hear the word used in my area of the Midlands. More likely love or even (cringe) duck.

      • icerose says:

he is on the fence with darling

      • Lilacflowers says:

Apparently, he uses “darling” indiscriminately at men, women, and otters. I doubt the gubernatorial candidate in question has ever referred to a man as “sweetheart.”

  8. feebee says:

“I believe in gender equality” On ya, Tommy! Since there are some who get a bit squirmy with “feminism”, let’s also liberally use ‘gender equality’ to remind some dolts what the goal is.

I don’t think she’s too young for him but don’t ever see them as a couple when they’re together… maybe something about her body language. If they share a publicist and exist in similar circles they’re bound to see each other at events.

I haven’t seen the whole speech but what I have seen was good. She’s an impressive young woman.

    • Ava says:

Emmas speech was bold and brave. I loved it. I love how she explained gender equality. It is not about being masculine or not being beautiful, it’s about having choices. For her to stand up and know people will be critical makes her top of my list of new favs. Sad thing is people always want to link any support, like toms, to the man wanting to date the women. It has nothing to do with it and frankly insulting to both tom and emma.

    • Isadora says:

The “too young” comment is quite surprising to me too. I mean, I don’t think that there ever was or is something going on and I don’t get a coupl-y vibe from them AT ALL, but it’s not about age. Emma is 24 and Tom is 33 – sure, there is a bit of age difference but not an awful one and a lot of totally accepted Hollywood couples have more years between them (like Brad and Angelina).

  9. FlaviA_deluce says:

His hair game is so strong in this picture.

    • joe spider says:

I’m beginning to think the “hairline” is just that. Where his hair used to be hasn’t been exposed to the sun as much yet so that is why you can see a line.

  10. M.A.F. says:

    They share a publicist.

EDIT: Someone already mentioned it above.

  11. Laura G says:

Ice Bucket, Save Arctic, now this… New day, new campaign? I wish he would just stick with one issue that he cares about, maybe then I could believe he isn’t in it just for attention. I find this kind of fame whoring through charities really annoying. And it’s hard to imagine he would’ve done this if he didn’t personally know Emma. It seems like she tried to start a Twitter trend but it was mostly just women who tweeted about it. I don’t see famous (or non-famous) men ever getting openly into any feminist cause the way they do with gay rights or environmental issues. They just don’t care and it isn’t fashionable. Joseph Gordon Lewit is one of the very few who I actually think is genuinely some kind of a feminist, since he has mentioned it multiple times and doesn’t seem to do it in attention whoring way.

I like Tom and I think he’s a nice guy but this is the one trait of his I dislike most. If he was a bigger celebrity (or female, let’s be honest here), he would be criticized for it a lot.

Oh, and there’s already been gossip about him and Emma if I remember correctly. I wouldn’t be surprised if Tom had hots for her, she kinda seems like his type – cute, intelligent, well educated girl next door.

    • 'P'enny says:

he sticks with UNICEF to be honest, but he gets damned when he does and when he doesn’t on that one. But, he is no Ewan McGregor, yet, who really fights hard for them.

the ALS thing was a trend and he was nominated – and they were all it. it would be been daft not to.

And the Save the Arctic is the photographer Gott’s thing he has been working on it a while taking loads of pics of celebs wearing the t-shirt.

But, yep, it’s all a PR two way street. I don’t mind this kind of fame whoring if the message gets out as well. There are worse things they could do, i can’t cope with Kardashians and Beyonces of the world who are so flash, it’s greed personified, and doing charity shilling.

Tom wears the same outfit for the whole year!

The Gott’s photos will live on, but the ALS stuff wont.

    • Jen says:

Are you being serious? You’re being down on a guy for doing a few charity things? jfc I can’t. I don’t even like Hiddleston (cause of his psycho fans mostly) but wtf.

    • joe spider says:

      @ Laura G
Just like Gwen Christie you mean?

      • icerose says:

@Joe spider the old adage comes to mind what goes on between two consenting adults stays in the bedroom unless of course someone hacks your facebook or myspace.
Not talking about you but it kind of bugs me when people tend to muddy the waters with sexuality because although I support the rape/abuse issue it to often is used as a defection from other feminist issues.

      • joe spider says:

        @icerose,

I think you misunderstood me – I took Laura G’s comment for Emma being his type as meaning being rather demure, which I don’t think would be the first word that came to mind with Gwen Christie! I meant nothing more than that.

I should probably have put @ Laura G “Oh, and there’s already been gossip about him and Emma if I remember correctly. I wouldn’t be surprised if Tom had hots for her, she kinda seems like his type – cute, intelligent, well educated girl next door.”

before starting my post, sorry for the confusion.

      • icerose says:

@Joe spider I see what you were getting at -Laura’s post seem to cover so many criticisms that it was difficult to know quite what she was on about. What does his not being famous enough to be criticise mean.

      • joe spider says:

        @ icerose

I have no idea what that meant. Seems a bit like a case of lets criticise him anyway. A friend of his gives a speech in the cause of women’s equality and he gives his friend a tweet in support. I see no problem with that and can’t see any cause for complaint in it. Everyone and his dog did the ALS challenge and he did that ^ photo as a favour to someone else he worked with on High-Rise and for the photographer. What’s the problem? If he had refused he would probably have been called as a a**e by those criticising him now.

    • icerose says:

How many issues is he straddling -he supports a friend and colleague, supported Unicef (which technically only counts s as one as they are both supported by Unicef ) and global warming. Oh yes and he once did a TV commercial in support of gay men living on countries where it is illegal to be gay, Yes he did the ice bucket thing which just about all the celebrities did. Feels a little bit like nit picking to me.
That is hardly jumping from one issue to the other. Other actors come out for several charities so why should his be any more attention that theirs.Besides since when is there a minimum /maximum number of charities/issues you can choose to support.
He was also very close to his mum and my experience of guys who are predominantly raised by their mum is that they are often feminist in their approach. If you have a strong female role model you grow up with a respect for what women can achieve, He is known to have feminist friends so not surprising he came out.

    • jammypants says:

I’m ok with him supporting several causes. Many celebs do. Heck, at my job, I’ve volunteered for 10 different causes :p Sometimes you just put your best foot forward when asked (nicely).

    • An says:

Laura G.–Nothing wrong with him drawing attention to a good cause in my purview. Hiddleston doesn’t quite pass my charity litmus test either [I’d say multiple causes are not the issue, I just prefer to hear snippets of some quiet charity work mixed in with higher profile instances] but this is a little harsh.

      • icerose says:

AN According to other actors he is very generous and bits come out now and then. The trouble with snippets is that they are quite often leaked or how would we know about them. It’s swings and roundabouts if you do or you don’t go public with it but in the end none of us really know how much support celebs give charities in the side,

      • An says:

icerose–Organic snippets on social media aren’t too difficult to come by, sometimes via random workers, volunteers, recipients, and the like, although I do know what you mean. As I said, he doesn’t quite pass my muster but he also doesn’t deserve some of what’s been aimed at him.

      • icerose says:

@An Have you any examples. I know of someone who received money from Judi Dench to study acting but things like that happen all the time and never reach the press.
Giving or supporting a charity or person is not a competition no matter who you are, Keeping a score card seems to me to be a waste of time.

      • An says:

icerose–Yes but do you mean general or specific?

It’s not a scorecard nor limited to money or a competition; sorry for any confusion from my wording! What I like to see is evidence of the celebrity doing something outside of the direct public eye/mainstream press here and there, so no use of their Twitter, press pictures, press statements, etc., involved. That tells me their endeavors aren’t entirely rooted in self-promotion. However, that is definitely just my preference and by no means the final word.

That being said, again, nothing wrong with what he did here insofar as Watson’s message or with being involved in multiple causes in my opinion.

      • jammypants says:

@An, but if the support they provide is quiet and away from the press, then we won’t know about them 😉

      • An says:

        jammypants–love your username, I must say 😀

You can, it often filters through social media in the fansphere like random fan interactions do [for instance, say a non-celeb charity volunteer randomly mentions something on their personal Twitter]. But without a public approach or public relations efforts from the celeb, it doesn’t hit the mainstream media or circulate wide enough for solid points. This is really just a silly peeve of mine, honestly.

      • Crocuta says:

@An. Everything doesn’t leak, tho. There are probably way more celebrities donating money to charities than we can ever imagine (the same way we don’t know about our neighbours). I don’t know if Tom does or doesn’t, but charity is a no-win situation for him any many others. If he does it publicly, he’s only doing it for PR, if he does it quietly, he’s a bastard because he’s not supporting the cause. This goes for other celebrities as well, you read these same arguments every time. Because sure, bitching about what celebrities do (although none of us REALLY knows their motives) or don’t do really helps the world.

      • jammypants says:

@An, thanks. I made about 1% effort when I had to dig real deep for a username then looked down and looked at my pjs. I was spared a headache too many to come up with a unique username 😀

It’s ok to have pet peeves. Imagine how boring it would be if we all had the same opinions.

    • delorb says:

      @ Laura G,

Tom won’t get criticized by the majority of the people here, no matter what he does. He could stomp on baby seals and some would say they were trying to see his dong, or bong or Kong (LOL) and therefore deserved the stomping.

But in this instance I don’t think its a fame whore type deal. It was a tweet. He didn’t stand on his head, screaming ‘look at me!’ He tweeted support for a cause that is dear to a close friend. Meanwhile this tweet will get retweeted by his fans, thereby spreading the word even further. Sometimes things aren’t complicated. Sometimes what you see is really what you’re getting.

I also don’t think your criticism of his charity support is valid either. Lots of unknown people support more than one cause. I know that I do (no kill shelters, AIDS foundations, food banks). What say you and I meet up and tear him to pieces….when he’s actually done something to warrant it? Sound like a plan? Good.

      • jammypants says:

I think it’s because most people who post in his posts are fans or just like him =) But really, he’s not a mean person like some celebs out there (Sheen, Baldwin, Handler).

      • Crocuta says:

I like Tom but I’m pretty sure that if he went clubbing baby seals or he’d tweet a support for the other side (in Emma’s case) I’d criticise him heavily for it. But him being a happy bunny on promotion tours really isn’t something I’d loose sleep over.

And his fans just aren’t that bothered by his *career choices* as his haters for some reason are. Fans are excited because they’ll be able to see him in many different roles. He’s covering the territory and that makes them (us?) happy. This isn’t exclusive to Tom’s fandom, I’m sure.

      • Lilacflowers says:

I doubt anyone here would defend him for stomping baby seals.

      • delorb says:

        @Lilac,

        Not even the cute ones?

  12. Ash says:

Emma Watson has a boyfriend before that rumor starts. I can’t remember the guy’s name. I’m too lazy to google right now.

Also I believe in gender equality for both men and women. I think this is a great movement.

    • Sara says:

Matt Janney, she posted a picture of him and his rugby team holding a sign. proably one of the only times she did something public with a boyfriend. i think the one before, Will, was with her at some award show for children.

  13. lucy2 says:

He doesn’t do much for me, but kudos to him for standing up for equality.

  14. KinChicago says:

I love him more for this.

  15. Sara says:

then she would also be dating all the other men who posted pictures. she retweeted the one of the oxford rugby team in which her boyfriend Matthew Janney plays. he was mentioned mockingly in some articles as emma talked about new gender roles and then dates the school jock.

its all cool that they do it but i judge people on actions. as of now they have held up a piece of paper. lets see how all of them act and if those actions support that they support gender equality. i think sometimes we celebrate people for too little.

    • jammypants says:

At first I too thought, ok, so you guys held up a piece of paper, but then I thought it’s nice to publicly announce your view for equality. Her speech asked for men to stand up for women, and that’s pretty much what these male celebs are doing.

  16. icerose says:

Completely off topic I found an article which said Merideth Boswell, an Oscar-nominated production designer is working on I Saw the Light which hopefully will contribute positively towards the over all feel of the film.
And from the sounds of it he and Rodney are having way to much fun in the recording studio.

    • Allegra says:

Judging by the smile on his face, the answer is Yes.

    • Lilacflowers says:

@icerose, so busy in that studio that Rodney cancelled a scheduled performance here in MA last weekend.

      • icerose says:

oh poor you -you were going to that were you not.
@Allegra that picture of Rodney and Tom makes then look like a happily married couple.

      • Dancinnancy says:

The one time Tom came out to play Inwas in class. They haven’t left the studio 🙁

      • Lilacflowers says:

Yes ice rose, but we still enjoyed the festival. It was on the grounds of an art museum I rarely get to visit because of distance and boyfriend was happy to see his beloved Saint Emmylou. I just wasn’t meant to be in the presence of Robert Redford and Tom Hiddleston in the same week so I’ll just have to settle for Redford, Malcolm Jamaal Warner and Mike O’Malley. I had a rather artsy week.

      • 'P'enny says:

oh Lilacflowers! so sorry to read that 🙁 you will get your Hiddles moment, we all will. in a parallel universe or in dreams, but it will happen.

i think Bron studios, from their twitter feed had something on the go that weekend, may have called them both in for that? it’s wasn’t really clear.

  17. boredhousewife says:

I never thought hiddles as hot until I saw the first pic! My word! He’s definitely looking yummy! And he’s all for gender equality too! Yay

  18. koko says:

That was a nasty bump to the forehead, looks like a permanent scar. I have a matching one on my right knee from my brother, wonder if he’d care to compare?

    • joe spider says:

Well he already had one almost in the middle – all he needs is one on the other side……….

      • Leah says:

He also has one on his upper lip. I wonder where else? This requires more research….

      • joe spider says:

With a magnifying glass, although I believe that isn’t required in certain areas……..

      • Lilacflowers says:

And one over his left ear.

      • jammypants says:

        He’s quite accident-prone isn’t he?

      • pretzel says:

I can’t see the upper lip one as often as the Wallander/early Loki days.
@lilacflowere. Really? Wow. You sure did your “research”. Lol. I have never seen it. Yes there a pic where you can see it clearly. I saw a compilation of a few pictures highlighting a tick/swoosh shaped scar on his hand.

On the other hand, i can’t rake my eyes off that whitened area of forehead where he lost hair and the sun damaged white marks above his right eyebrows. I don’t like this Gotts pic as much as the earlier one which was a close up of his face. Here to me, he looks like he’s forcing himself to channel a macho model. Looks a bit unnatural. But I’d still sooooo hit it.

      • icerose says:

        @pretzel

“On the other hand, i can’t rake my eyes off that whitened area of forehead where he lost hair ” does not make sense,nHair loss does not happen over night or even over a few days so the line would not have been so marked. More likely the curls were falling forward whilst he was tanning and in the pictures he has brushed/cut it right back, It might also be a make up issue but not hair loss. My brother lost a lot of his hair and never had lines like that
The sun damage discussion has been done to death.it is his skin and his life and all the on going discussions are not going to make a blind bit of difference.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Pretzel. I have a similar white line along my hairline and I have a full head of very thick hair. For some of us who are fair, sun damage happens, no matter how vigilant we are with hats and sunblock.

      • jammypants says:

I think the white line is just his curls shading that bit of skin from the sun. Yea he’s losing hair but you wouldn’t see discoloration like that.

      • Intro Outro says:

LOL I can’t with this white line talk 😀 If it’s from a receding hairline, then his hairline has started creeping backwards when he was playing Martinsson http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lr9zhpKPGY1qafrh6.gif

      • Isadora says:

I don’t think his hairline is receding all that much. Or just slowly, as he said because he always had a huge forehead. Doesn’t matter, I just really want to know where the lip scar comes from. I’ve got a thing for it. *g* It’s probably a very mundane story (as with most scars), but still.

  19. Allegra says:

About the #SaveTheArctic , recordedpicture tweeted:

    – Producer Jeremy Thomas is a @Greenpeace advocate and organised this shoot on the set of @HighRise_movie.”
    – Shoot we arranged on our High-Rise set! “@DrGotts: My shot of glorious Tom Hiddleston for @Greenpeace #SaveTheArctic ..”
So, I guess we also will have pics with Sienna Miller and Luke Evans.

It´s a really good cause among others.

  20. serena says:

My dragonfly heart just jumped out of me!

  21. nicegirl says:

    AWESOME!!

  22. Ellen says:

I didn’t think that there would ever be a bad photo of Hiddles but the climate change one proved me wrong. Most unflattering photo I’ve ever saw of him. The fact that he only did it because the producer told them all to takes away the personal meaning.

I think Emma is doing a great job of the heforshe. She has always been consistent with her campaigns and would not neglect it when the hype goes down. I do feel that she shouldn’t retweet the celebrity men but everyday men as it’s now turning into a media circus and who’s done it who hasn’t and who looks more hot in their photo.

The message that she’s trying to spread is already getting lost.

    • browniecakes says:

+! Agree to all three points made here

    • icerose says:

We do not know that they were told they had to do it-more than likely they were asked if they would like to participate and Tom said yes because he was in agreement with the issues. A bit like signing a petition.
Gott’s photos can be an acquired taste. I love them but many people find them strange and unflattering.
Who says the actors are competing re hot photos-it’s the fans who make those comments not the actors.

      • Allegra says:

        icerose:
I agree with you. There were other actors on the set, if he not wanted to participate or not interested, he would never have agreed to join the campaign.

      • Ellen says:

@icerose fans competing who has done it or who’s the hotess is exactly my point. Emma is trying to convey an important message but it’s being hijacked and lost. Show normal everyday men who would gain nothing from this campaign is what I would tell her to do.

If Tom wants to support a cause that’s up to him but sometimes he and others can come across as jumping on the bandwagon which opens up to crittercism.

I really do wonder what cause is close to his heart and is passionate about like Emma is with hers?

      • jammypants says:

Yea but no one pays attention to the guy down the street. I think the guy with almost 2 million Twitter followers would spread the word pretty quickly (as well as media outlets who can spread the attitude for support even further).

      • Innie Outie says:

@icerose: Teremy Thomas seems a cool guy to me and also someone who I think Hiddleston is fortunate to have a good professional/friendly relationship with. As a producer and founder of RPC, Thomas is pretty damn amazing at what he does.

I also agree about Gotts. He plays a lot with midtones and highlight and filters, and brings out unexpected and often harsh facets in people’s faces.

    • TotallyBiased says:

      @Ellen
Interesting reaction. Mine went the other way, I’m not a huge fan of “Commercialism for Causes” (like a tee shirt for what, 75 USD?) but when I found out it was a personal cause of a guy who evidently has a real relationship with Tom (JT was involved with OLLA as well) the whole thing seemed more congruent to me.
Much better than “Vivienne Westwood’s people called Tom’s people and arranged it.”
I keep going back and forth on the pic. Not a big fan of gritty, and don’t like the way the lighting shapes his face. Yet I still am mesmerized by the whole. Now that’seat!t

    • 'P'enny says:

he’s followed all the greenpeace, etc links on twitter, if he didn’t want to take part i am sure he is has the balls to say no to Jeremy Thomas. just as Icerose as said.
And, may add Gotts is hot photographer right now, big exhibition down my road. need to visit asap. ‘fingers crossed’ the Tom one is on show.

    • Lilacflowers says:

A producer can’t tell an actor to participate in something that amounts to a political statement, especially if it has nothing to do with the film being produced and isn’t addressed in the contract. A producer can ask, the actor can say no.

  23. Allegra says:

    News from Tom:
    From Edd Post:
@MayaFlock Look who I saw outside work!! @twhiddleston Thanks Tom! PS. Come see Jersey Boys any time on me 🙂

This meaning he is back London?

    • icerose says:

must be having a break before filming starts. Nice picture.

      • Allegra says:

Indeed, the photo is nice, but slightly blurred.

      • Ellen says:

Personally I don’t find Someone who looks very tired a good photo and if I was a fan I would of kept the chat to a minimum when he’s in that state. I certainly wouldn’t ask for a photo. He must be there on business or work related. His management and PR are literally endangering of burning the poor man out. Let him be and that’s to some fans too.

      • TotallyBiased says:

Eh, considering Edd Post is one of the leads in a major West End production, I wouldn’t think this was a typical fan encounter. Who knows what the circumstances were…
I do agree that he looks a little jet-lagged!

      • 'P'enny says:

he’s an actor Ellen, starring in Jersey Boys, judging by his twitter page and he tweeted his wife.

maybe he flew back to discuss possible theatre sign up?….. [mmmm i will get tickets this time]

      • icerose says:

Whether Tom looks tired in the picture is really about the viewers perception. He looked fine to me but obviously to you he does not.
From the sounds of it they are friends, as the actor and girlfriend, have invited him to the show and for drinks. Of course if you feel he is too tired you can always tweet him to go home to bed alone. But you know it really is up to Tom, not a complete stranger, to decide if he is too tired to talk to fans or friends or have his photo taken.

      • Ellen says:

@IceRose I don’t think that Hiddles is friends with the actor and his wife. Edd just mentions to his wife that he bumped into Tom outside work and as a thank you for stopping offered him tickets and drinks on him.

@’p’enny I with you. I hope he’s in the area due to another theatre role. I can’t think why else he’d walk around London very jet-lagged. Have you noticed that he is wearing the same clothes as his #heforshe selfie? Maybe he took the photo at the airport in New York?

      • icerose says:

@Ellen and his wife replied they he must see the show on them and have drinks. I doubt you would reiterate the offer if they were not at least acquaintances. The London acting scene is very incestuous and most of them have run into each other at some point. But either way it is Tom’s decision about who he talks to and when not his fans, He is quite capable of making excuses.

@Penny usually if you get off a plane you go straight home and at minimum shower and drop off your bags unless he used the airport first class lounge, showered and changed and then took the photo before an appointment. Even if he was using the tube he would not have to go into central London to go home. He could also have taken the photo at home using one of his never ending identical shirts. He may have even had a cat nap and then gone into town. I sometimes take a cat nap at my cousins before driving two hours home and have also driven home straight from the airport. Quite often jet lag does not hit you until the next day anyway. So its pretty much speculation on our part.
I would love to see him back on stage but not sure when he would fit it in unless he has a free period between ISTL and Skull Island. Filming starts on the 16 th so maybe it is a bit of a break or even a film meeting.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Fans found him in the same area during his last brief visit home. It’s a central area but maybe he is stopping by to negotiate something or just visiting friends.

      • Catherine says:

Icerose, I think you’re seeing much more than is actually there – people on social media often do that, come across like they know someone when they don’t, and I doubt Tom knows every actor working in London.

Btw transatlantic flights get into the UK in the morning, it’s possible he only got back to the UK yesterday. He posted on twitter very early the day before.

      • 'P'enny says:

when I get off a long flight, I get a taxi, a shower [to de-germ] and bed. When I came back from new York, I tried to stay away, but it wasn’t working. I slept, a lot. And, London geography sends me in a spin, where he lives and west-end? wouldn’t have a clue.

And, like Ellen says hopefully out next week for the Dracula prem.

Plus, he needs to get in some big magazine interview, he’s overdue some coverage it’s all other brit actors at the moment. Landing Skull Island may have pricked up the press ears.

      • icerose says:

@P’enny when I was his age I would fly in and at night and go to work the next day -best cure for jet lag I ever found. Bu these days it is more of a struggle. If he took a taxi or the tube he would not even have to surface in central London unless he has s a specific reason to do so.
But my original argument was how do we even know he was jet lagged or tired in the picture because we have no idea when he arrived and you bounce back pretty quickly at his age,

@Cartherine I tend to think the English are more reserved about claiming friendship/acquaintances but you could be right .however my actual point was it did not matter if they were friends or fans -it is Tom’s decisions as to whether he feels like stopping and there was no point in people criticising the guy in the photo. Catherine it is one of my pet peeves -people who criticise without thought through all the possible scenarios and yes sometimes I get a bit pedantic about it on top of that I enjoy challenging assumptions and having mine challenged

      • Ellen says:

@IceRose as someone who has lived in England for the last 10 years it is a stereotype myth that they are more reserved. Like Catherine and ‘p’enny says the man and his wife were saying it in an off chance jokey way.
I’m not the only one who thinks he looks very overtired many people on social media are saying the same thing. Maybe he did go home and drop off his things and went to a meeting. I know people who don’t sleep after a long flight so they can reclimate back. It certainly wasn’t taken at his home as you can see Rodney in the corner of the photo.

What I do want is another nice interview that is fun to read unlike that fangirl mush that Elle magazine do- if I want to read something like that I would check his tag on tumblr. I think we all agree that the one with him talking about reciting Shakespeare to ducks was one of the better interviews. It had a photo of him rowing a boat for some reason too.

      • icerose says:

@Ellen To me he just looks like he has his resting face on but my point was why criticise the other guy when you are basically making assumptions about a scenario.
I have lived in England for 30 yrs. and spent much of it mixing with actors and people involved in the arts in some capacity and yes it is possible they were joking but I stand by my comment that generally the English do not over state acquaintances in the way that they do in America. And English reserve does exist depending on the circles you mix in. In general the English are less likely to talk about their feelings as readily as Americans etc. I work in mental health and have seen the difference in the way Brits and North Americans differ.
But all of this just reinforces my point that it was all speculation so the criticism was probably unfounded.

      • Josa says:

“His management and PR are literally endangering of burning the poor man out. Let him be and that’s to some fans too. ” I am not quite understanding him looking tired and jet-lagged has anything to do with his PR and management. Do you mean his management shouldn’t let him sign up for more works because he is already up to his neck working? Or his PR shouldn’t let him walk on the street in London because he is bound to bump into fans or friends?

Merchant-Ivory’s London office is at that area, I am hoping he is visiting that office to get Richard II rolling. Wishful thinking probably.

      • icerose says:

@Josa re Ivory Merchant offices-now that is interesting. It had crossed my mind that perhaps his return might have something to do with Richard 11 but it was pure speculation and wishful thinking on my part as well
“Or his PR shouldn’t let him walk on the street in London because he is bound to bump into fans or friends?”” love it.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Josa, thank you for the Merchant-Ivory information. As I posted earlier, the last time he was in London (post-Mallorca but pre-Michigan), he was spotted and photographed in the same area. So, I too hope it was Richard II related.

      • icerose says:

So hanging around the Merchant Ivory office’s is a good place to meet Tom. I have been in close proximity with him for times and never met him. Lilacflowers we need to brush up on my stalking and harassing skills although my preference is that I find him sitting next to me at the theatre .I wonder if he goes on line for Barclay tickets. An all women Henry 1V is on at the Donmar at the moment which should get his feminist juices going but unfortunately the next available matinee is after he leaves.
If not it is back to the Bugatti boot and good old fashioned kidnapping.

      • Isadora says:

@Ellen: “Have you noticed that he is wearing the same clothes as his #heforshe selfie? Maybe he took the photo at the airport in New York?” He is wearing these clothes since the surprise stage appearance with Rodney. I think he changes clothes only four times a year, maximum. 😉 It’s also funny that he doesn’t even really mix the way he combines them, the blue shirt with leather jacket is very 2012-OLLA-in-Tangier.

  24. Alexis says:

judging by these comments its dammed if he does, dammed if he doesn’t. I guess celebs can’t support multiple charities these days who knew. I’m not famous and I’m actively involved in 3 charities myself. A lot of British actors are coming out in support of Emma including her male friends. I don’t see what the negativity is about

    • Allegra says:

      Alexis:
      Me either. Poor Tom!
People always find some reason to criticize even when someone is trying to do a good deed.
In my opinion it is better to act, even if you make mistakes than omit or not to even try to help.

Like Martin Luther King, Jr said:
“Our lives Begin to end the Day we become silent about things that matter”

      • ava says:

        @Allegra
Thank you. I really hope our world changes. Right now inaction and criticizing is the norm. It is somehow ok for people to be critical of “many things”. It is uncool to care. It is somehow not ok for people to support a friend and to support more than one good positive cause without their motives coming into question. I don’t get it…… I Love your quote. I believe Martin Luther King would have be a supporter of #heforshe.

    • joe spider says:

      At Alexia
      ’twas ever thus.

  25. Ellen says:

I didn’t say that hiddles heart is not in the right place I was questioning his timing sometimes and the fact the message is being hijacked by others.
We only hear of him supporting and helping what is close to the heart to other people and not his own. That is just something I noticed, it’s good that he cares but It would be really interesting to see and hear what he’s passionate about raising awareness for.

    .

    • Lilacflowers says:

      UNICEF

      • Ellen says:

That’s not his personal charity, UNICEF made him their ambassador and then he started campaigning for them. I’m not saying that the work he’s doing is bad but if UNICEF was a personal charity he would be based at one area of it (and they have many)which is special to him instead of all of it in general.

      • icerose says:

Well maybe he does not have one special charity. Not everybody does, I support loads of charities/issues but none of them have a persona/special meaning for me.Equally he might have a charity that is very personal to him which he chooses not to go public with.
Is there a rule that says you must have one special charity for to be sincere in your support for issues/charities? Not everyone follows the same format.

      • Lilacflowers says:

UNICEF wouldn’t have made him a junior ambassador if he wasn’t doing something for them previously.

      • joe spider says:

Can remember someone slagging off Tom on the Unicef twitter page some time ago asking what he did apart from the LBTL challenge. She was told in no uncertain terms that he does a lot for UNICEF. (probably behind the scenes, you know, the stuff that doesn’t get publicity).

      • jammypants says:

@icerose, I agree. No one should be put into a box how they run their lives or how they support causes. And even if it’s for self interest, it’s still getting the word out.

@joespider, I agree. We only know what he does publicly. We will never know what he does privately for UNICEF.

      • joe spider says:

Now here is a little something from left field: everyone talks about sun damage to his forehead but, given the scar there, I wonder of some of the other damage is as a result of scar damage that doesn’t tan at the same rate (not meaning the hairline). I know I have a few dots on my arm (attack of the rose bush!) that never tans like the rest of the arm.

      • Isadora says:

Hm… I don’t think it’s scar tissue. Doesn’t look like it and it would be an incredibly huge scar (all around his forehead). Not even people who have aggressive face lifts have scars like that. So I’d still say: it’s just the way his skin/tan looks like.

(But yes, scars don’t tan afaik.)

  26. magpie says:

OK, I would hit it now.

  27. Camil says:

The important thing is we’ll surely see a Save the Arctic Little Hiddles pretty soon 😀

This is for those who wish to attend SDCC 2015:
    https://twitter.com/susi079/status/515001737199906817

    • Camil says:

I’d love to attend Comic-Con but I’ll travel to London the next year and I can’t support another trip 🙁

The next Comic- Con will be amazing *0*

      • Allegra says:

        Camil:
        You´re a lucky girl
I’m sure you will enjoy your trip.
London is one of my favorite cities along with San Francisco (CA).
It is no secret in my family that I love flowers and parks, so when I want to take a vacation, I try to get some time in the spring. I also love the atmosphere, the vibe, the cultural life. Anyway there is so much to see, do and visit.

For SDCC 2016, I have no doubt that will be a knockout with Tom and Skull Island.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Movie day @ SDCC is going to be insane next year. GDT promised he was bringing Tom back to promote Crimson Peak so he’ll probably promote Skull Island during the same Legendary panel. And then Marvel will want him to appear as well. The undisputed God of Hall H returns.

      • icerose says:

I do hope people from here go so we get some first hand accounts

      • 'P'enny says:

I bet Marvel are scowling – lol. How dare Legendary steal our man for two films. 😀 and Hemsworth as well, doing stuff for Legendary.

Hiddles may not actually be needed by Marvel next year, at this rate Thor 3 is going to be next century. I have a feeling that next year’s Comic con for Marvel will be all Dr Strange and Cap America 3. It will be 2016 they Marvel may roll him back. If he is inclined too, he may be feeling Loki’d out, and ready for other things. He might leave it to Hemsworth to pull his Thor weight for the next one.

Marvel films have gone quiet at the moment.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@’p’enny, Marvel is busy counting the money from having the two highest grossing films of 2014, which is unlikely to change as the fall moves away from blockbusters, and a film currently sitting in the top ten highest DVD sales for 2014 at #6 (yes, Thor: World of Loki) with the sales of the Captain America 2 DVD poised to bring in even more. (Guess what also makes the top dozen? PIRATE FAIRY!) Marvel will probably release a teaser trailer for Avengers 2 around Christmas. And Feige has Tom under contract. No way will he allow the God of Hall H to wonder about the SDCC without having him at least sit on a panel introducing the Thor 3 writers or something.

      • 'P'enny says:

        @lilacflower

Pirate fairy? [it racked in the £££’s in the UK] I can see them bringing him back in to do another one. [for the love of Disney, don’t do it!]

The God of Hall H – it will be the twitter trend. Poor Tom the pressure to perform something new and make it memorable next year will be on. He may sing a ditty on stage or do an ape impression. I think they may actually have to create a special space, not necessarily Hall H, but a separate Q&A spot. Because, everyone will want to ask him questions and because he has a reputation to be interesting and hold an audience for an hour or two. It would be a big sell-out of the event. Hall H is impossible to get into for a lot of people, unless they sacrifice the rest of the con, to sleep outside for three days. Everyone has seen the Nerd HQ interview and the Oz Q&A so, it think Legendary will create a special Tom on his own – spot.

People will want talk to him non-stop about Loki and Apes, not to mention he may want to advertise the other ‘three’ films coming out the last six months of next year. HOT SIZZLE

      • Lilacflowers says:

@’p’enny, Angelica Huston and Lucy Liu are also in Pirate Fairy. It´s just voice work and they have fun doing it. High-rise will be in theaters before SDCC and ISTL isn’t really a comic con type film. The movie studios have tight blocks of time in Hall H and they tend to do presentations instead of Q&As so he wouldn’t be doing lots of questions in the presentation. If théy do separate press availability even those are time limited. Any autograph sessions are strictly controlled.

      • 'P'enny says:

“High-rise will be in theaters before SDCC and ISTL isn’t really a comic con type film”

It won’t stop him from name dropping both films. Plus, High Rise doesn’t have an American distribution deal yet. [i don’t think] So I can see it being a late release for you guys. Rumoured to be June for UK/Europe. So, I can see big name dropping for High Rise, especially if Luke Evans is floating around, as well.

oh, still not buying the Pirate Fairy thing ‘sticks tongue out’ mind you playing a pirate is cooler than being a penguin. 😀

      • Lilacflowers says:

@’p’enny, and not just any pirate but Captain Hook!

  29. Pocket Lint says:

He looks constipated in the tshirt pic. Also, comparing the pic of him from a year ago with the current ones, he’s looking old. Better get a chemical peel Tommy.

    • Camil says:

Nah, he doesn’t need a chemical peel xD.

He just needs to rest, but for now that’s impossible: I Saw the Light, Skull Island, (perhaps Richard II)… maybe in 2016 :s

    • Ash says:

He’s been working almost nonstop this entire year. Man, needs a break, he looks more tired than old. Man needs a real, nice relaxing break away from celebrity even if it’s only a month.

      • Catherine says:

Um, hasn’t he had 2 holidays already this summer?

      • Lilacflowers says:

By non-US standards, two brief holidays is nothing.

      • icerose says:

And filming often means long concentrated hours working flat out.

      • Ellen says:

By the looks of it he had a week in Mallorca with his family and a few days in Tahiti. Why he didn’t stay longer in Tahiti and shorter in Mallorca is a mystery to me. Maybe it was the company 😉
As he doesn’t have a regular Joe job it’s different because he can’t predict the next time he can get away.
His career is starting to pick up now so I don’t blame him for working a little harder.

I’m really surprised by the energy of actors. They shoot for like 12-16 hours a day. That’s just nuts. No wonder they have to work out to keep their energy going.

      • 'P'enny says:

        @Ellen – naughty.

I wish people stop saying he looks old, he is older, he’s not Baby Hiddles anymore. The man is looking mature, ruggedy and starting to look sexy – and I feel less of a perv. 🙂 because he looks older, now.

[sorry if I am posting a lot, I am Queen of Procrastination today]

      • Ellen says:

@’p’enny what? Not from any place I’ve read, seen or heard a good word about the company he had in Tahiti and he didn’t look very happy in ‘that photo’- before you say it, no i haven’t been to the site in a long while- ive got this From reliable sites. IMHO you can’t beat the company of family and friends and our Hiddles seems to agree 🙂

I agree with the fact that he looks better now than when he was younger. Don’t get me wrong i miss the curls but he is more defined now. Coriolanus certainly opened my eyes 😉

      • jammypants says:

How do you tell from one photo? We know absolutely nothing about his relationship with people in his life or about his vacation. It’s all hearsay.

      • Ellen says:

Don’t start that again. I was joking about the observation and gossip. I don’t think he really cares about we or anyone else thinks in this matter.

Old Hiddles v Young hiddles, who is hotter?

      • jammypants says:

I’m not starting anything again. I don’t start these kinds of discussions about Tahiti-gate. The joke’s lost on me, my bad.

        I like old Hiddles better.

      • Ellen says:

@jammy haha I was just getting in there before anyone else does. Getting it over and done with.

      • Grace says:

Because he comes across as a smart and wise man, he will find himself a woman who is also smart and wise? In reality it doesn’t always work that way.

  30. Ellen says:

Does anybody here know that the rumors of Hiddles is attending the London premier of Dracula untold are true? I thought he’d fly in a day before like he did before.

    • 'P'enny says:

      not sure Ellen

I think the premiere is Oct 3rd, and he seems to flown back to London, so maybe. But, ISTL starts filming 16th Oct, may depend how much pre-production work he has to still do.

I hope he does though, love some smart pics of Tom at a premiere we’ve been starved since the Oliviers.

      • jammypants says:

Oh wow you’re right. He attended ONE event this year and that was because he was nominated. I do miss red carpet Hiddles.

    • icerose says:

He night go to support Luke. It is the kind of thing he does and by all accounts they got on well when filming High Rise. It would be nice. After grunge Tom it would be nice to see smooth stylish Tom again,

      • 'P'enny says:

I’d love a pic of luke and tom together in a nice suits, it would be a big selling picture to go viral ready for H/Rise next year.

Luke Evans has filmed Graham Norton show, I can’t wait for that!

      • Ellen says:

Putting my hand up to the dark blue pinstriped suit last seen in march last year. It’s been a long time.

      • 'P'enny says:

Blue Cannes suit, purlease. No underwear. 🙂

      • Isadora says:

@’p’enny: I read about Luke at the GNS! It’s going to air on October 3rd, right? So looking forward to it, love the show and I so hope he’s saying something about High-Rise (which is doubtful, though, it’s gonna be all about Dracula).

She referenced that her character was sexualized when she was 14. I haven’t brushed up on my Harry Potter for some time now, but did she mean Hermione? I never thought of Hermione as sexual, Ron yes. Wonder if with this message she is trying to be like Hermione 🙂 And yet, that her GQ outfit is sexy!

    • Isadora says:

If she means Hermione (not sure) then it’s not about the books but the fandom, I think? There were gazillions of smut stories around of various pairings people in the fandom shipped. I just remember that there were even some Hermione/Snape pairings which are not only absolutely absurd to anybody who has read the books and knows the characters, but also extremely gross given the age difference.

posted this in completely the wrong place earlier so I’ll try again:

Now here is a little something from left field: everyone talks about sun damage to his forehead but, given the scar there, I wonder of some of the other damage is as a result of scar damage that doesn’t tan at the same rate (not meaning the hairline). I know I have a few dots on my arm (attack of the rose bush!) that never tans like the rest of the arm.

    • Ash says:

Could be. I have a scar on my face that doesn’t tan much either. Same with hands and arms. I’m pretty clumsy.

    • icerose says:

I have a scar on my cheek which is in a kind of circle shape with a tail that reaches my ear and about 4/5 inches in total. The rule of thumb is that it takes 2 yrs to reach the point where there is no change. Whether it stays white seems to depend on your colouring and the light. In my first year or so it was white. Now it looks slightly darker in some light but never white -partly because I have very rosy skin pigment and although I do not tan I do let the sun at it now and again. On the other hand I have long scars on my leg and shoulder which are very white in contrast to the rest of my skin but they very rarely get the sun without sunblock an my skin on my body is much paler.
In case you are wondering why -it was skin cancer.

Cast and Crew for I Saw The Light , ‏so far we have:
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3789828/fullcredits?ref_=tt_ql_1

    • icerose says:

interesting -still only two cast members listed

      • 'P'enny says:

i wouldn’t worry, there is enough actors out there in need of roles. i am sure when the moment is right that cast list will fill up faster than a car in need of petrol.

      • joe spider says:

        @ ‘P’enny

remember High Rise had no cast apart from Tom practically until they started shooting.

  36. Ellen says:

I do like how these threads always covers a whole range of ideas and different points of views. Unlike other threads Most people respect that not everyone is going to agree with them.

Loved little hiddles posts and great sleuth work that he was near to the ivory studios again the other day.

    • icerose says:

Ellen I agree. Tom posts always slide all over the place Nothing wrong with some good old fashioned debating as long as we keep our cool when we disagree.

    • Lilacflowers says:

We do go off on a variety of interesting topics, don’t we?
