Emma Stone vs. Sienna Miller: who brought the fashion p0rn to the NYFF?

Here are some photos of Emma Stone and Sienna Miller, both of whom attended their separate premieres at the New York Film Festival over the weekend. Emma Stone turned out for the premiere of Birdman (full title: Birdman Or The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance), where she has a supporting part. Sienna came out for Foxcatcher, another supporting part. Surprisingly (or not so much), Sienna and Emma are both getting amazing reviews for their performances. A lot of people think Sienna is amazing in Foxcatcher, even stealing scenes away from some of top-tier leading men. I guess if Emma gets nominated for Birdman, people will be less surprised because she’s been a critical, fashion and girl-crush darling for years. But it would be the first Oscar nomination for both women. Just FYI.

As for fashion, Emma wore this sparkly, jazzy Jason Wu Spring 2015. I love it. I would have loved it more if it had been all-green or all-black, but this is great. I like that Emma is rarely va-va-vooming the red carpet. You can tell she enjoys fashion and she likes dressing up, but she’s never an exhibitionist. Sometimes she even looks downright conservative. Like, I think she looks uncomfortable with that high slit.

As for Sienna…she flashed her abs in this black/graphite two-piece (I don’t have the designer ID). I wouldn’t like this on most women, but it makes some kind of sense of Sienna. If I could change one thing… well, I kind of think her makeup is too severe. But otherwise, this is fine. I’m also sort of shocked that Sienna and Tom Sturridge are still together. I lost a bet with myself about them – I thought they would be over by now. So now I’m kind of wondering if she’s going to get pregnant again?

Oh, and if we get Keira Knightley, Sienna Miller and Emma Stone all nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar this year, I will be SO HAPPY. Fashion p0rn!

Sienna has to be the hardest looking 32 year old I’ve ever seen.

Emma Stone looks gorgeous here (and always) but I’m still disappointed that she worked with Woody Allen. And no, I’m not singling her out: I’m equally disappointed with Colin Firth, Cate Blanchett, Hugh Jackman… and the list goes on and on. God, this is depressing.

I just went to Emma STone’s IMDB page and she has “Untitled Woody Allen Project (post-production)” in 2015. -__-….

Great. Another film with Woody Allen. Seems like she’s taken over from Scarlett as Woody’s nubile nymphic muse. Gag.

Me, too, laughing girl. I love Emma, and Colin Firth, too so much. I’m just beyond disappointed.

I don’t like either looks. Emma’s Jason Wu would look better on someone else.

i think Emma Stone has become so boring. and her stardom has died down quite a bit, hasn’t it? like she basically is where she’s right now because Lindsay Lohan f-ed up her career. but i feel like nowadays, what has she got going on her, yoi know?

    • Dutch says:

She’s made some choices that haven’t worked out (Spider-Man 2, Gangster Squad, the Woody Allen movie), but there’s positive buzz about Birdman. Stone will start making the PR rounds again, and she generally shines as a talk show guest so she’ll rise up again.

I disagree. She is in a unique position where she can do blockbusters, indies, comedies, drama. Her career is going just fine.

How many hefty bags gave their lives for those looks?

  6. Hissyfit says:

I love me some Emma Stone fashion but this look is a big NO.

  7. Chris2 says:

I don’g think I’ve ever seen Miller without her straggly hair all over her her face, so this is an improvement!

I agree that Keira, sienna and Emma would definitely make the red carpet exciting, because those three have very distinct styles and take risks. However- my bet is that of the three, Keira is the only one who will get an oscar nom (she’s getting consistently strong reviews). Apparently sienna has one big scene in Foxcatcher, but it’s a small part- I think her “reward” is the revival of her once promising career. However, she’ll be on all the red carpets as a part of both Foxcatcher and American Sniper, so we’ll see a lot of her. I don’t know enough about Birdman to know what Emma’s chances are, but she’ll definitely be around.

So far, it has been a very weak year for actresses in both the lead and supporting categories so anything is possible.

    • Kimmy says:

I will settle for Emma, Sienna, and Keira all just going to the Oscars. They will make he red carpet interesting for sure!

I think I would like Emma’s look better if it was all the green fabric. I don’t like Sienna’s at all.

  10. Kiki says:

Not sure where you read Sienna is a scenestealer in Foxcatcher. He role is small. She has a much better Oscar chance with American Sniper.

  11. Luciana says:

I’m glad Emma doesn’t look as skinny as she did years ago. She looks really pretty now. Regarding Sienna, something seems off. She looks miserable.

  12. Debutante says:

I think sienna just looks off because she looks like she just got filled and botoxed within an inch of her life !! Is she really only 32 ??

  13. Bobbiesue says:

I think Sienna looks fantastic. She can do no wrong in my book. Very avant-garde. Her style is growing and evolving with her age and life circumstances and I appreciate that. Emma, on the other hand, only 25, is dressed like Helen Mirren at an awards show. Very aging.

  14. Isadora says:

I think Sienna looks great – heavy make-up, yes, but her look is interesting and elegant. I really like it! And I don’t know what all these comments about her age and looks are about. Of course she doesn’t have a lot of body fat which would naturally help prevent wrinkles, but I really don’t think she looks incredibly old or aged way beyond her years.

Are you all such baby-faced mid-thirties? I’m genuinely wondering because most women in their early thirties I know, look similar… So I’m not sure if they all look old or if we have an already skewed perception of age due to Hollywood, botox and various other plastic surgery procedures.
