Bristol Palin blogs about the Palin Brawl, blames ‘media hypocrisy’ for everything

wenn4109853

For the love of God. You know how the Palin Family had a huge, drunken, messy brawl in Wasilla back in September? Yeah, we’re still talking about it. I should say – the details of who started what part of the brawl are still sketchy. The anti-Palin people say that the Palin kids were drunk and they were punching people like crazy. The Palins claim that they were attacked and were merely defending themselves. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle, where everyone involved made crappy decisions. This week, Bristol Palin’s tearful on-site police interview was released (beware: very NSFW language).

She sounded genuinely traumatized. Alternate opinion: this sounds like a drunk person recounting a drunken brawl, which is something you can hear during every single episode of Cops. Alternate alternate opinion: if this brawl had involved black people, the police involvement would have been MUCH different. Anyway, with the release of this audio, the conservative media is now rallying around their favorite Palin women. And now Bristol Palin is finally telling her side of the story too, only she’s bathing the story in a heavy dose of politics, hypocrisy and stupidity. Bristol’s blog post is called “The Truth about the ‘Palin Brawl’ – The Media Reveals Its Bias Against Conservative Women Once Again.” I’m posting most of it (there are some edits, FYI):

First, the media said Trig was not really my mom’s kid. Then, they claimed my mom said “I can see Russia from my house.” Recently, they said my parents are giving a divorce. And now, they’re saying my family started a “drunken brawl.” Most of the time, I let the lies pass. After all, the truth eventually comes out. But when people are selling “scoop,” photos, and false information… sometimes the truth just isn’t as profitable. Let me tell you what actually happened.

Our friend got knocked out from a cheap shot from behind. (His injury resulted in ten stitches, so it was really low.) Why would anyone do this? Well, here’s a hint. The guy was on social media during this incident, tweeting, “about to get famous.” When Willow saw all this happening she looked at the guy’s mom and said “get ahold of your son.” But apparently the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree, because his mom pushed Willow. A grown woman pushed my little sister. By this point, I’d already gotten into the car. But when Willow ran to me crying, telling me that some lady had pushed her down, I got out of the car to go talk to her. Any big sister would do this. Next to God, family is the most important thing to me… But the evening that began so well took a turn for the worse when this guy decided he wanted to “get famous.”

After I got out of the car, I didn’t get far. I never even got to talk to his mom, because a guy in his late thirties or early forties got in my face. He was towering over me – probably at 6 foot something and over 200 pounds. He puffed his chest out and started yelling. “You c-nt!” he looked right in my eyes and said. “Get the f-ck out of here, you slut!”

I was alarmed that things had gotten so bad so fast. But it got even worse when this guy started pushing me. He had his hands on me, pushing me down. That’s when I swung and hit his face. Some would say I should’ve never retaliated in defense against him, but certainly he should never have pushed a girl. It didn’t phase him. He pushed me down to the ground and kept me there. It was scary and awful. He held me down until someone got me out of the situation. That’s it – that’s the story. I didn’t “swing and hit him seven times with a strong right hook” as so many so-called news stories have reported. After this incident, I still had a perfect manicure on all ten of my nails. Plus – I’m left handed. I wouldn’t even begin to know how to begin “swinging” at someone.

In the meantime, did you even hear about Vice President Joe Biden’s adult son who kicked out of the Navy for cocaine? (That’s the real Vice President’s kid…) So pause for a moment and consider the hysteria over our stupid “incident”, compared to our actual Vice President’s son not even being able to hold on to a position in the Navy Reserve. I’m sure you heard the happy news that Chelsea Clinton had a baby. But did you know her father-in-law and Clinton family pal Edward Mezvinsky is a convicted felon because of committing bank, wire, and mail fraud? Of course, you didn’t. Because the friends and family of the revered liberal elite are treated like delicate China. Don’t handle too roughly. They are precious. They are off limits. Don’t push on them too hard.

In the meantime, I was pushed and held down by some guy… and the media salivates like a dog that’s just been given a bone. Here’s the thing. Violence against women is never okay… Even if that violence occurs against conservative women. Imagine for a second the outrage that would happen if Chelsea Clinton had gotten pushed by some guy. Had she tried to defend herself, the liberal media would’ve held her up as some feminist hero. But it wasn’t Chelsea. It wasn’t Hillary. It wasn’t someone they liked or someone they agreed with. It was a conservative. And once again, the hypocrisy of the media is laid bare.

[From Bristol’s blog]

To defend the media reporting on what happened – everyone went with the sources they had. There were Palin-friendly sources telling their side, but for the most part, the majority of “sources” had the Palins pulling up to the snowmobile party in a stretch Hummer and instigating the fight almost immediately. The Palins didn’t directly confirm or deny anything until now. I don’t understand why the media should have ignored their sources just because Palins Are Always Perfect And Nothing Is Ever Their Fault?

As for Bristol specifically and her actions… so a guy assaulted her and she assaulted him right back. That’s her story. We’ve heard different versions, including versions that Bristol threw the first punch out of nowhere. Unless someone has video, we really won’t know for sure. But here’s what I do know: Bristol has a history of painting herself as a victim and denying her own actions. She’s a Perpetual Victim, she constantly plays that card (it’s a family trait).

And yes, Bristol, we did know that Chelsea Clinton’s father-in-law was in jail and we knew Joe Biden’s son snorted all the coke. Every media outlet reported on it. That’s why you were able to link to those stories on media sites.

“the Palin Faily” has a ring of truth to it!

  2. Lilacflowers says:

Bristol,, honey, no, the media did not say that your mother said she could see Russia from the house. That was a single joke on SNL, that’s it, and you and your family have been lying about it ever since while trying to downplay the fact that your mother actually did say that she had foreign policy experience because Russia is visible from some parts of Alaska. So, stop lying. And are we supposed to be against feminist heroes? Maybe if you actually learned about feminism, you could pull your life together and get a job to support your child and yourself.

    • atorontogal says:

I so dislike when ignorant people get to spew their views in the media. There are too many gullible people who will lap this stuff up. She doesn’t know what she is talking about. The good news is, that every time a Palin opens their mouth, they confirm to the rest of the world what morons they truly are. And just think, that family could have been in the white house!!

  3. Ag says:

hell yeah! i’ve been waiting for the family of perpetual victims and innocents to pull out their true and tried “IT’S ALL THE (LIBERAL) MEDIA”S FAULT!!!” line. the palins never disappoint.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Am I awful for thoroughly enjoying this? I mean, with cackling and everything? Be honest, Ag.

    • Tiffany :) says:

The police reports tell a different story than what Bristol is trying to spin here. In the police report she is called heavily intoxicated. Track is called heavily intoxicated. The other neighbors are noted as being moderately or slightly intoxicated. The 6 or 7 neighbors interviewed by the police all have extremely similar stories.

The neighbors say Bristol punch the homeowner in the face first. They all say he said “you can punch me if that makes you feel better but you really need to leave. ” She then punched him five more times in the face.

      don’t believe her at all.

      • Ag says:

the police are lying. they’re part of the media. lol

i do feel bad for her kid, though. why is he being dragged to parties at night and exposed to this trashy behavior?

      • mimif says:

Bingo. She hit him in the face 6 times, six times. I mean, the only thing missing in this shit show was an elevator.

      • lucy2 says:

Yeah, I’m going to go by the police reports which all basically said the same thing, rather than Our Lady of Perpetual Victimhood here.

      • Deedee says:

But, but, she had a perfect manicure after the event….

  4. Annie says:

She is certainly her mama’s daughter.

  5. savu says:

Girl, get a hold on. When we had no info on your side of the story how in the world is anybody supposed to know you were just a victim? (If that’s true).

On a feminist note though, I think sometimes we look at women who prefer to take traditional gender roles differently in terms of abuse. In that ONE point she’s half right, we could look at them differently, when all women, conservative or liberal, feminist or traditional (which do not have to be mutually exclusive) do not deserve domestic violence.

But yeah who knows what actually happened. Bristol does like to play the victim. What’s funny to me too is that the coverage definitely died down on that story and she brought it up again. Just kind of hypocritical and suspect.

    • Josephine says:

Coming from a woman who supports a party that has consistently been brutal toward women and women’s rights, I’m incredulous that she’s pulling the violence-against-women card, especially when it is unclear whether she and/or her family initiated the violent actions. So funny how her mama always claimed that democrats play the victim, when playing the victim is the only thing these people have ever done. Play the victim and quit.

    • Steph says:

Just because you are a conservative, does not mean you take conservative gender roles and I am definitely not a fan of Sarah Palin but how the CNN anchor mocked this incident on the news would be incomprehensible if Bristol Palin was a liberal and that is a FACT!!

After yesterday’s discussions by the supposed feminists on this site,I find the cheering for the alleged take down of Bristol disgusting. The pictures, certainly backup her story. Yes,Bristol was probably intoxicated, but it doesn’t mean she deserved to be pushed to the ground and dragged.

      • G says:

Maybe she shouldn’t have punched someone in the face. When you are an actual adult and you punch someone, good chance they are going to defend themselves and push you. Sheesh does that really have to be explained to you?

      • Tiffany :) says:

No one is “cheering” for the “take down” of Bristol…we just don’t believe her because of the police reports. The facts suggest that she was repeatedly punching a homeowner while she was drunk.

      • Inconceivable! says:

        I agree with you, Steph.

      • Dena says:

The liberal media also gave Bristol a pass for being an unwed teen mother. Anybody else would have been slaughtered. The game is played in both courts and across all terrain.

      • Kitten says:

Yes because as a feminist, I am bound to defend completely abhorrent behavior simply because the offender has a vagina.

        NO.

      • Angie says:

        + 1000, Steph.

      • Jackie Jormp Jomp says:

Steph feminism is not supporting everyone with a vagina no matter what. You sound very uneducated on the topic.

      • detroitrah says:

I’m sorry but which party and whose Mom didn’t pass or support the violence against women’s act or equal pay for women but now want’s to scream about violence towards women is intolerable?

      • Bob Loblaw says:

You seem to be suggesting that this brawl would not have been “reported” by the media if “liberal” women had been involved and I find that suggestion ludicrous. The twenty four hour media cycle wants stories, sound bites, clicks, it does not care about politics, it is driven by revenue not ideology. Only the misinformed can cling to the delusion of a “liberal media.” Or those who fail to comprehend the terms “liberal” and “media”. The vast majority of pre-digested nonsense that passes for journalism in this country is not worth reading or hearing and is driven by nothing other than mercenary capitalism.

      • GByeGirl says:

I find it hilarious when people throw out hypothetical situations and then use the word “fact”. That is the opposite of a fact. That is your opinion regarding a made up scenario in your head.

      • allheavens says:

CNN can drag Bristol from here to eternity. Where have you been CNN is nothing but Fox lite.

She committed an act of violence (it cuts both ways). Just because she has a vagina does not constitute a get out jail free card.

These are the very same people who call Wendy Davis “Abortion Barbie”, who voted against equal pay for equal work, who deny women control over their own bodies, who basically have criminalized having a damn miscarriage in some states, who think POC are less than, who are bringing back “Jim Crow” laws at the polls but hey she’s female and conservative so we need to cut her some slack?

Ummm no. If you act like a damn idiot in public than you should be dragged whether you are liberal or conservative.

  6. Talie says:

Could it be that this story won’t go away because she and her family keep writing blog posts about it? Yeah, that could be it. Since, you know, that creates more interest and drives sites like TMZ to dig further to keep it up.

    • Bridget says:

Makes me think Sarah’s subscription channel isn’t going well, because this story (while funny) should have died down a while ago. And yet here’s Bristol writing a blog post, using some of the Palin family’s favorite buzzwords.

  7. noway says:

I have a problem with this on so many levels. If Bristol was really attacked as she says, she needs to press charges and STFU! Her version of events was an assault. Since she appears so concerned about the media she would get the coverage and sympathy she would deserve on this if she goes to court and proves her case. Unless everyone at this party was the liberal media there should be people to back up her story.

The problem if you listen to the whole tape one of the birthday boys, who sounds more coherent than anyone else and is a friend of Todd Palin pretty much says she is lying. He does say that Todd and his son Track were unjustly attacked, but that Bristol came out swinging to another guy who didn’t retaliate and a bunch of girls pulled her off and that is how she got her injuries. Then they said there is a video but they refused to give it to the police. Maybe someone is selling it as we speak or one of the Palin friends squashed it or it proves Bristol’s case who knows? But when you have two different stories and no one presses charges the police are kind of at a loss on how to proceed.

She really does play the victim. I think I heard just a few stories about the Palin Brawl, but I did hear a lot about Biden’s son and that is generally not released info. Maybe it should be, but if it happened to others in the military it wouldn’t have been released, some reporter dug that up. Let’s be honest as far as Chelsea Clinton goes she just isn’t out there as much as some other political kids. Just like I don’t hear a lot about Barbara Bush, the other twin. They aren’t quite Amy Carter, but they are pretty private. If Bristol wanted that she could have that.

  8. jwoolman says:

Oh, Bristol. A good big sister doesn’t head into a drinking crowd to confront somebody’s mother on the say-so of her little sister. She continues getting into the car, pulling little sister with her, and gets everybody away from the situation. Who did what to whom could be sorted out more calmly once everybody sobered up.

Bristol and Willow have tag-teamed before, allegedly defending their family honor. I recall reading their bullying of another kid on some social media- I read the actual interchange. Willow was young and stupid although old enough to know better. Bristol was full grown and a mother. They both were awful in both their language and their thinking. The boy’s crime was that he didn’t particularly like their mom’s reality show. Honestly, they have no training at all in civil discussion. My mother would have ripped out the computer power cord if she ever saw me doing that at such an age. Don’t think it bothered their mom at all. This has absolutely nothing to do with politics. They’re just poorly raised.

    • Anniefannie says:

      @Jwoolman
      Bingo!
To my knowledge the only comment that Sarah has made was to endorse her Bristols “stepping up” to defend the family name/reputation.
If my mother ever caught wind of me brawling with people no matter what the provocation there would have been hell to pay!! Its very revealing that it’s sanctioned by a grown woman
(former vice presidential candidate) under any circumstances.
The only reason they media isn’t reporting on Chelea Clinton in this manner is you’d never catch her in these types of circumstances. You think Chelsea wasn’t exposed to criticism regarding her Father? You’d just never catch her behaving like she’s in the WWF!
I hate to be a snob but with this family it’s unavoidable….Trash!

    • Joh says:

She was in the limo and got out to go “defend” her 14…. No 20 year old sister !
Why do bullies always cry victim when they are confronted on it?
It ‘s common as pig tracks!

    • mayamae says:

They are poorly raised. I’m surprising myself by defending Bristol (slightly). I cannot imagine having an egomaniac like Sarah Palin as a mother. First of all, she kept her pregnancy with Trigg a secret for so long, that the rumor, within Alaska, was that he was Bristol’s child. Why did she keep it a secret – hypocrisy alert! Sarah Palin herself outed the reason, when she called having Trigg, “the hardest choice” she ever made. Did you hear that? CHOICE – the very thing she denied her own daughter, and would happily deny every other woman in the US.

Yes, she accidentally admitted that she considered abortion, and Bristol paid the consequences. Then Bristol was trotted out – as an unwed pregnant teen – in front of a national audience. She pushed Bristol into doing the absolutely ridiculous abstinence media tour. She was raised in utter hypocrisy, and that must be incredibly confusing. Rumor is Sarah and Todd “had to get married”. Track – her war hero – joined the military to avoid jail when he tampered with a school bus. Track “had to get married” to his girlfriend. Bristol was an unwed mother. I don’t have a problem with children before marriage – they do.

Her mother is an overbearing moron, and her father tends to do his own thing with his favorite child – Piper. Bristol got stuck taking care of Trigg before she was saddled with her own child. Bristol is as clueless as anyone else whose only news source is Fox. In fact, she’s even more clueless – she gets her news from her mother.

  9. Lilacflowers says:

Bristol couldn’t even get which one of her sisters was involved right. Piper is 14; not Willow. Nobody hit Piper. Nobody yelled at Piper.

  10. mimif says:

Everything you could want to know about the fight (including the 5 year old screaming in the car). The comments are pure gold.

    • Ag says:

“Scary. One heartbeat away. Imagine a State Dinner at the White House with the same cast.” lol

      • mimif says:

        “Who would Jesus punch?” 😂

      • Bob Loblaw says:

People say “one heartbeat away” a lot about her but it was never true. The minute she was named as VP to McCain, his viability as a candidate ended. She repulsed so many people, across the board, she was never going to be in the White House and the election was a long slow descent down a staircase of disappointment for the Republicans. She was a terrible choice, so bad I tend to believe McCain was afraid of winning and self-sabotaged by picking her.

  11. HappyMom says:

    Such trash.

  12. genevieve says:

I find it really hard to believe that a young lady as bookish as those glasses make her look could ever, ever be involved in a brawl! Probably, what really happened was she swooned from the shock, and her arms flew up as she went down. And she was merely anticipating the nasty feministical jeering that would assail her delicate ears, if she admitted that she fainted, so she had to pretend that she was involved.

    She’s a lady-like hero. Stay strong, Bristol!

  13. Vava says:

seems as if she has a pretty limited vocabulary.

  14. Deb says:

    Why are they “news”?

  15. lucy2 says:

“That’s why you were able to link to those stories on media sites.” Thank you! You can’t claim no news coverage WHILE LINKING TO NEWS COVERAGE.
And yes, Bristol, we all did see those stories, because we read the news. Which papers? All of them of course!

    • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

Plus it’s really gossipy. Sure, Joe Biden’s son testing positive for cocaine (which, ironically enough I wrote about on FB saying that a grown ass man isn’t ’embarrassed’ about getting caught with ANYTHING) is big news–but who knows Joe Biden’s son? I hadn’t heard of him until then–for all I knew, Joe Biden had no kids. But the Palins have been in the news. A lot. Willow got on the radar when she started calling people f*ggots on Facebook. Bristol got into the news when she got pregnant. Started giving abstinent speeches. Got together with her baby daddy. Broke up/got dumped by her baby daddy. Started that reality show. Trashed her baby daddy. And used tabloids and PEOPLE magazine to do all of that. And we know why Sarah Palin is in the news. So the idea that they’re just zeroing in on the family, is ludicrous. Because someone in that family is ALWAYS going to do SOMETHING.

    • MissTrial says:

lucy2: “all of them” is hilarious!

  16. Abbicci says:

Being a foul mouthed, drunken brawler won’t play well with the church groups and Christian organizations that the Palin family use for an income stream. She has to lie and blame someone because if she doesn’t the non-drinking, non-swearing Christians will stop buying what they are selling.

    • Elle says:

Having spent time in a conservative part of the country, it really does seem like the Palins can do no wrong. Plus, with many fundamentalists, all you have to do is seek Jesus’s forgiveness and all is forgiven.

I wish I were kidding, but a friend stopped attending a church (that she had thought, until this point, was moderate) that forgave a guy after he beat his wife in front of their children. Because he had seen the error in his ways and sought god’s forgiveness. Meanwhile, his wife was chased out of the church after she filed for divorce, because good Christian women don’t abandon their marriages.

So, no, I don’t think this will harm that family’s appeal with many of the Christian organizations. Some of the more extreme ones may even go along with the “it’s all the media’s fault”: it was entrapment, plain and simple, as a way to take down a good Christian family because hatred of Christianity is everywhere.

  17. Tiffany :) says:

The Biden news hasn’t traveled as far because:
    1. Biden hasn’t been on 5 reality shows. The public does not know him (I don’t even remember his first name).

    2. Testing positive for drug use doesn’t have the entertainment value that a multigenerational drunken brawl does. Didn’t we all learn from Cops that if someone takes off their shirt during a crime, it makes it all the more likely to wind up on tv?

    • Elle says:

I actually thought the Biden got more press attention when it broke but disappeared more quickly because the people involved stopped talking about it.

      • Bob Loblaw says:

And nobody cared, recreational drug use is common, as is getting busted for it. Drunken brawls involving the cops, girl fights and former VP candidates, it’s a little more attractive to the media and the public regardless of political leanings.

  18. The Original Mia says:

This chick and her trashy family need to have a seat. No one cares that’s why the liberal media stopped talking about it. Thankfully, her mother isn’t a heartbeat away from the Presidency. Thankfully, the Palin women are nothing more than a sad commentary on ignorant people going far on looks and brash attitude. Have a seat, Bristol in a freaking classroom. Educate yourself and stop being a f*cking joke to one and all.

  19. Deb says:

For someone who says she puts God before everything else, she sure does have an un-Christian-like mouth on her.

  20. SillySimone says:

Does she actually do anything? I am serious.

  21. captain hero says:

This brawl truly had everything. Snow mobile party hosted by a guy named korey, drunken fist fights, camouflage print tank dress. Oh and the 5 yr old waiting in the stretch hummer. If someone were to create a parody of cashed up white trash, they couldn’t even come close to this. Brilliant

  22. Elle says:

You know what I like about this family? How whenever something happens that they don’t like, it’s someone else’s fault. But when another family needs government assistance due to job loss and a lack of employment opportunities, it’s that’s family’s fault entirely and they’re moochers if they try to get help.

  23. Jayna says:

Aw, she’s pulling that “liberial media” card the Palins are famous for.

  24. MSat says:

Hypocrisy? You mean, like, being a teen mom and then getting paid to talk about abstinence?

  25. JustChristy says:

Why not turn the other cheek, Bristol?

  26. anne_000 says:

    Trashy.

Hey Bristol, you forgot to mention how there’s been reports about you and your sibling’s illicit drug use.

At least Biden’s son owned up to what he did, said he was remorseful and ashamed, and admitted his wrongdoing, unlike you and your family in which nobody admits to doing anything wrong even to the point where you guys change your histories to look like you guys are NEVER wrong.

As for in-laws, how about your parent’s allegedly illegal political interference they did to their brother-in-law aka Trooper-Gate?

Also don’t forget all the political scandals during your mom’s half-assed attempt as a governor and what people are saying were the REAL reasons she quit in the middle of her term (various allegations including abuse of power). Not only that, but there was stuff being said about what was happening behind the scenes during your mom’s mayorship too.

For a family that has soooooo many scandals, it’s ridiculous to throw shade on other families.

  27. Barbara says:

This young woman should quit talking.

  28. Nikki L. says:

That’s a hell of a chin implant she got.

  29. GracePM says:

Amazing that people still defend this family. I heard the talking points on the radio today.
You’d think people would be embarrassed to be associated with them.

  30. Shayvoe says:

    She has a point.

  31. MargoRita says:

Let’s, for arguments sake, give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she was assaulted. I guess you can only have the backing of women, in cases of assault, if you agree w their political persuasion. I find it horrifying that the woman on CNN, the anchorwoman, laughed about this. Assault is NO laughing matter, against women. Or against men. Yea, I don’t like her mother or the rest of their weird family. I have also seen enough of these people to be pretty disgusted by their whole family, however, this is not ok to laugh about or talk shit about a woman who was assaulted by the man. I guess you can only have genuine sympathy or be given the benefit of the doubt, if you have the same political beliefs. I don’t think its funny that a man, pardon the pun, manhandled her. I also don’t think it’s good journalism that the host laugh at her plight. Come on! Either you support all women or none at all. Moreover, choosing to support only those whom tend to agree w you, marginalizes it and condones it.

    • Bob Loblaw says:

” Either you support all women or none at all.” No, no way, not ever. I’m sorry but blind allegiance based on gender is just wrong. Palin is telling “her version” of events and they bear little resemblance to the police reports or the audio tape. If her sister was assaulted, which I doubt, they should have left, as any sensible person would, not instigated further violence. Their behavior is inexcusable, even her fake version, so I don’t care how many anchors mock them, they deserve it, they behaved like over grown, drunken children, and boo-hoo, people are mean.

    • allheavens says:

So it’s okay for a woman to assault a man. I think the police report states that Bristol hit the guy in the face not once, not twice, not three times but six times.

Bristol clearly committed an act of violence thinking there would be no physical response to that act or repercussions after the fact because of her gender.

If it had been a women she attacked would anyone be defending her?
