Beyonce’s international baby-bangs crisis is over after ten days: yay or nay?

Beyonce was in New Orleans this weekend, hanging out with her sister Solange. This ^^ photo is from last night’s ‘Amen Amen! The 17 Wards of Wonder’ art experience cocktail reception. Notice anything different about Bey? That’s right, she’s lost the bangs. They lasted all of TEN DAYS. That’s how long a Beyonce hair trend takes to catch on, I guess, or maybe that’s how long it takes for Lady Gaga to copy it. Or maybe Beyonce was sad that her baby bangs were so soundly criticized? Don’t you know that everything Beyonce does is brilliant?!

You can see some better photos of Beyonce’s new bangs-less look here. People Magazine published some theories as to how Beyonce lost the bangs so quickly. Basically, she either had extensions put in to “grow” the bangs trauma or she never had bangs in the first place because they were just some ugly clip-in pieces. I tend to think they were clip-in bangs or a completely different wig.

Here’s what’s fascinating to me – after posting so many new photos of her bangs on her Tumblr, Beyonce went dark as soon as The Bangs Moment was over. Hm.

Those bangs were a terrible idea.

    • Stef Leppard says:

Can we even call that situation “bangs”? It looks more like a toupee or something. The beginning stages of baldness.

    • Mia V. says:

It’s a ugly wig. She thought people would be all “Beyoncé is the new Bettie Page/she looks sensational/new bangs trend” and people went all meh. Cheap wig.

    International Baby Bangs Crisis???
Did Anderson Cooper cover this? I wish he had just so I could hear him have a giggle fit.

I really honestly can’t understand the thought process on cutting baby bangs. I just don’t get it. I say this as someone who’s had some kind of bangs their whole life – but the baby bangs always strike me as “oh shit – I cut too much. Gotta cut the rest, I suppose”

    • Abbott says:

I think they’re going for an Audrey Hepburn look but it somehow ends up looking like a cross between Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Lena Dunham.

Penelope Cruz is the only one I can think of who does it right.

      • Erinn says:

YES. I will always support Penelope’s shorter bangs because they’re choppier and way cuter. Much more Audrey.

  4. Kitten says:

One thing is for sure: she’s a very beautiful woman, with or without bangs.

  5. Cupcake says:

10 days is more than enough time for bangs!

  6. kri says:

Bey was NOT taking that hair tragedy to NOLA. They would have held her down and re-weaved her in 10 minutes flat. That is a true story, cause my friend in NOLA was getting ready to mobilize to fix that sh*t.

  7. FingerBinger says:

The wig with bangs wasn’t working so she went back to her regular lace front. She’s experimented before with that short hair wig.

  8. Hautie says:

First off all… it was obviously a wig. I am baffle why anyone who does not realize she is 100% wigs. Very good wigs. But wigs never the less. It saves her natural hair from being destroyed.

Back to those bangs… it looks as if she took a pair of scissors… most likely did it herself… and chopped off the front of it off.

No one who cuts hair for a living, would have cut them so badly. As in… the bangs were not clearly section off properly. It looks as if she stood in front of a mirror… grabbed a hand full of hair one morning and cut. There was nothing professional about that bang cut. Crooked as hell and oddly laying.

But the lady has a closet full of old wigs. So let her have her fun. It gets old having your hair in your face all the time.

    • Mia V. says:

This ^^^^ improve your wig game, Bey.

    • HH says:

It was very clearly a wig. I’m not sure why some people were confused.

    • vavavoom says:

This. She showed a photo just a year ago (or so) with a pixie cut. She has short hair underneath all these wigs she wears. She ‘wakes up like that’ after she puts her wig on.

Also, the first photos of the bangs, they are shorter, like her wig had shifted back on her head.

    • Val says:

Aren’t wigs really uncomfortable? Does your scalp get sweaty underneath? Do you miss the feel of air on your head?

      So many questions.

      • pinky says:

        Yes, yes and yes.
I only wore a wig because medicine induced baldness is less chic on me than famous people may manage to look, and on a bald head, very itchy, very hot and stifling. A hot hair hat. I have tried on wigs over my grown-back hair and every hair feels pulled, strained, squashed, itchy. It feeeeels terrible. To wear a wig you have to be such a narcissist that what it feels like means nothing to you, you only exist in the mirror.

  9. Topgirl says:

Thank god her bang spree is over. It didnt look good on her plus i like her more iconic look..thats the Queen B we kno.

  10. Loopy says:

Maybe she did not want to do it while in Europe and gave herself a break until she touched down back home. So she through on a wig while she was doing the tourist thing,it was clearly a wig you could see her hair on the side.

  11. roxy750 says:

Everything about this woman is fake. Even her hair. I wish people would start looking up to women who have substance, who are “real” and have something worthwhile to say.

    • vavavoom says:

Seriously. Does she say anything of substance truly? Does she use her good fortune or celebrity for helping others in any way? She’s a total me monster.

      • Grace says:

I find it fascinating how people ignore Beyonce’s charitable endeavors like donating money to build housing for homeless people in Houston, her work with Chime for Change or the cosmetology center she worked on with Phoenix House.

I agree with Nick below. I also wasn’t aware that wearing wigs or extensions made you a fake person. Truly fascinating.

    • Nick says:

I love her. She’s an inspiration to me and wish her more years of success and happiness.

I also didn’t know the notion that what one chooses to do with her/his hair indicates what type of person they are. I think that says more about the person doing the judging than the person being judged.

      • vavavoom says:

I can’t speak for roxy, but I wasn’t insinuating her hair indicated what type of person she was. She indicated that herself.
She is an inspiration to people who have talent and money and want to be a star. She’s accomplished a lot she should be proud of and I don’t judge those who love her. I just think she feeds into it and seems so self absorbed.

ETA: @Grace: I never said ‘wearing wigs made you a fake person’

  12. word says:

Someone at People Magazine gets paid to write an article contemplating whether or not Beyonce’s bangs were clip on or not? You’re kidding me.

  13. Harriet Craig says:

Glad to see her get a new lace-front
