Hot Guy HFAs: Eddie Redmayne, Sparkles, Chadwick Boseman & more

wenn21928263

Here are some photos of some of the “hot guys” at last night’s Hollywood Film Awards. It wasn’t really a buffet of tasty men, but there were a few cuties. Of course, I walked away with a huge crush on Jack O’Connell and I covered Benedict Cumberbatch separately – go here to see. So, let’s start this Hot Guy HFAs post by giving some attention to The Other English White Meat, Eddie Redmayne. Eddie is posh, kind, professional and he has cheekbones for days. He won the Hollywood Breakout Performance Actor Award for his work in The Theory of Everything and he even thanked his “beautiful fiancée” on stage. Cough. Here’s his speech:

I’m also including photos of Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther was there to present an award to Guardians of the Galaxy), Channing Tatum and Steve Carell (they picked up an ensemble award for Foxcatcher), Gerard Butler (he brought his parents!), Michael Keaton (he looked really good), and Robert Pattinson’s hipster hair.

    Michael Keaton for the win.

  2. Stef Leppard says:

    EDDIE!! Call me…

  3. Charlie says:

I just love him. And his fiancee is very pretty.

  4. 'P'enny says:

Breakout performance??? Crickey what do they call birdsong, les miserable & my life with Marilyn ????

    • Miss M says:

Right? I loved the breakout director’s speech… To be a breakout at 51 (and after 6 films)… Hahaha

    • Lilacflowers says:

      And a Tony award?

    • Here or there says:

Eh, while I really do adore Eddie, I wouldn’t call Birdsong and My Life with Marilyn “breakout-worthy” movies. I seem to remember critics were split over Birdsong.

      • joe spider says:

There was a bit of criticism of his performance in Birdsong – wooden and mumbled is what I heard. Don’t know if that is true because I didn’t see it. What do others think?

    • joe spider says:

      @ ‘P”enny

Funny I thought that too. Eddie’s career went a bit quiet after Les Mis but I have seen a clip from The Theory of Everything and he looked amazing in and for the part. Good luck to him.
Looking forward to seeing it when it finally comes to a cinema near me.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Saw the film this afternoon. His performance is amazing. As is Felicity Jones. And I wanted to give Charlie Cox a big hug and do unspeakable things to the beautiful Harry Lloyd.

    • delorb says:

I’m thinking that its because they didn’t put him on the ‘map’, not that they were or weren’t good performances.

  5. BadAssCompass says:

ah Keaton, sigh, permanently installed in my heart as one true Bruce Wayne. I mean look at the man :3 why is he not getting heaps of rewards for the Birdman already?
I don’t care much for the rest but Butler looks like his 5 minutes of hotness were gone 3 hours ago.

  6. kri says:

It is so, so good to see Michael Keaton! Just lovely.

  7. minx says:

I remember first noticing Eddie Redmayne in The Good Shepherd. It was a small part, he played Angelina Jolie’s and Matt Damon’s son, and he mostly just had to look moody and weird. I thought he seemed strange. Then later I saw him in interviews for My Week with Marilyn and he was completely adorable–witty, funny and self-deprecating. Loved him ever since.

  8. Mi says:

I think it would be nice and respectful to be called Robert Pattinson istead of sparkles.Twilight is over and it’s no need to bring up that franchise anymore.Nothing good came from it anymore.

    • Sugar1 says:

      RIP Sparkles

    • suziekew says:

Agreed. Please consider putting the sparkles nonsense to rest. Be respectful.

    • Nick says:

Be respectful? You all are acting as if it’s some type of slur to be called sparkles. This site is called Celebitchy.

    • VanCityLioness says:

I agree and I think he should be given a genuine opportunity to prove himself worthy of a career after Twilight. I really feel he hasn’t been given a fair shake. Calling him Sparkles allows us to continue to not take him seriously.

      • Shantal says:

If the fool wants to be taken seriously, maybe he shouldn’t go to events with a landing strip on the back on his head.

      • Lol. You do have a point there. But it’s also hair and grows back easily. You can’t blame the dude for trying something new even if it’s an awful hairstyle.

  9. PunkyMomma says:

I know it’s background lighting, but up the pic of RPatzz looks as if he’s wearing some lovely pearl studs.

  10. lindy79 says:

    Pattinson looks clammy.
Chadwicks suit has a really vintage feel to it that I’m loving.
    At least Redmayne is smiling…

    • HappyMom says:

Yes on the clammy. He looks like he’s on something.

      • Leah says:

On the contrary I think he looks happy.
There is video of him presenting an award and i am pleased to say unlike his much older colleague Depp he was totally coherent and steady on his feet. Lol!

      • PunkyMomma says:

I thought ✨Rob✨ looked a bit sweaty, too. He could have been under the weather. But there’s no excuse for him not wearing a tie.

  11. Bored suburbanhousewife says:

Eddie is so perfect. I love that he nearly teared up because he was so flattered and honored by Jared Letos praise for him. I loved how gracious he was in citing Jared’s work in Requiem as an inspiration to him. Entire speech was lovely.

Contrary to badasscompass, I was thinking the Butler cleaned up real nice for the occasion and gave a funny and gracious speech but It’s Sparkles whose five minutes of hotness are over. And I hate his hair.

Question: How does RP address his new gf? Does he actually call her “FKA”? Like, “hey FKA, do you feel like pizza or Chinese tonight?”

    • delorb says:

He probably calls her by her REAL name. As for Eddie, what’s the deal with his mouth? He’s cute, but the off-kilter thing is just distracting. Totally agree on Gerald. Some guys can look good before they clean up, but he ain’t one of them.

  12. Deb says:

Why is sparkles even included if the post is about “hot guys”

    • Anname says:

Just because you don’t like him, doesn’t mean others feel the same. Even with the bizarre hair, I still find him intriguing and attractive. I would leave Gerard Butler off this post – he is so slimy in my opinion. But to each his own, right?

    • Bess says:

Agree. I have never understood the fuss about Pattinson and probably never will.

    • Dolce crema says:

He used to be hot, his hair ruins it now

  13. Birdix says:

Why does Eddie look like he’s a doo wop singer in photos? I don’t get that in the video at all, but often think it in still photos. His skinny pants maybe?

    • Anname says:

He always looks great, seemingly without fail – I think he has perfect tailoring with every single thing he wears, and that goes a long way.

  14. VanCityLioness says:

All of them look great. Eddie Redmayne is in his early-mid 30s and he still looks like a teenager to me. It’s nice to see R.Patz look genuinely happy. I always though he was the most talented of the Twi bunch so I’m hoping his happiness translates into awesome acting and a bright future. I kinda want Michael Keaton to take Benedict’s place for an Oscar just to stick it to Harvey Weinstein.

  15. Dara says:

I’m about to channel my inner Joan Rivers (Damn, I’m going to miss that broad during awards season), but why in the name of good-tailoring did none of those gents tug their shirt cuffs down below their suit jackets? They are all wearing obviously expensive designer suits, and yet all look like they rented them for the evening because that little detail is off. Even Eddie Redmayne, who is usually my bespoke standard-bearer, is committing one of the few cardinal sins of men’s dressing. I’m shocked and appalled to hear myself say that Gerard Butler comes closest to wearing his suit well.

    • VanCityLioness says:

I totally heard Joan’s voice as I read what you wrote. It’ll be an empty award season without her. 🙁
      RIP Joan.

      • Dara says:

It really will never be the same will it? I looked forward to her red carpet recaps more than the ceremonies themselves.

    • minx says:

Butler did clean up well for this and I’m horrified to say that.

      • Gemstone says:

Popping in for a quick correction. Those aren’t G. Butler’s parents. They’re Bonnie Arnold and Dean Deblois, the producer and director of “How to Train Your Dragon 2”. It won best animated film. 🙂

  16. Artimis says:

Ugh Eddie Redmayne is the opposite of hot, I’m sorry but just NO. Keaton FTW 😀

  17. OhDear says:

Glad to see Chadwick Boseman – he looks great, as usual.

So is Channing Tatum’s wife (sorry, blanking on her name).

Reading the comments, it seems like all the coverage of another potential British Oscar nominee (not Kiera Knightley, heh heh) is backfiring of sorts and is turning in Remayne’s favor. /runs away

  18. Kali says:

I love Eddie Redmayne but I do wish he had kicked it up a notch colour wise. This is the dude who pulled off an aqua coloured suit on the red carpet!! I hope he doesn’t go completely boring clothes wise over the next few months.

And yes to Chadwick Boseman. Really can’t wait to see him going up against Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr.!

  19. Tig says:

I am glad someone who knows hair got ahold of Rob- looked good from the front. Congrats to Eddie R!

Re Michael K- while I loved him in Birdman, the movie as a whole left me cold. All I could think of was “All that Jazz”, and instead of Jessica Lange there was this guy in feathers!!

    • PunkyMomma says:

Re Birdman – I could have done without the pounding soundtrack and Tig, your spot on regarding the comparison to ” All That Jazz”.

  20. Just here says:

After seeing clips of “The Theory of Everything” and seeing how cool Eddie is, I think I might go catch his movie now. 🙂

I guess the PR awards… I mean, the HFAs… have worked!

  21. INeedANap says:

HUMINA HUMINA for Chadwick Boseman! That man certainly knows how to fill out a suit.

Gerry looks great, but I kind of wish I could brain-bleach all the gross stories of him. Ugh. Talk about a boner killer.

  22. Courtney says:

Sparkles looked awful. Did his people inform him there would be cameras present?

  23. AG-UK says:

Channing’s neck/head the same size… I don’t get his appeal either but can’t wait for Birdman AND Keaton looks great.
