I kind of forgot that Charlotte Casiraghi’s son is coming up on his first birthday. Time flies, right? Perhaps Charlotte likes the fact that she’s not super-associated with the Monaco royals though, and we’re not noting her comings and goings with regularity. Charlotte is the only daughter of Princess Caroline and the late Stefano Casiraghi, although Caroline later had a fourth child, a little girl, with her third husband, Prince Ernest August (who is nowhere to be seen in or around Monaco, because he and Caroline live separate lives).
Charlotte is currently 28 years old. She never married her baby-daddy, Gad Elmaleh, who is 15 years older than Charlotte. Their son, Raphael, turns 1 year old on December 17th. These are some of the first photos I’ve seen of Raphael, although I’m sure he’s been photographed before. Charlotte, Gad, Raphael and Princess Caroline were all in attendance at the Gucci Paris Masters competitive riding/jumping event over the weekend. Charlotte was very hands-on with Raphael when she wasn’t competing. Raphael looks like a happy little boy. Unlike his cousin Sasha Casiraghi, who has a wonderful little grump-face.
Incidentally, Charlotte’s older brother Andrea and Andrea’s wife Tatiana are also expecting their second child currently. And of course, Charlotte’s uncle, Prince Albert, is expecting twins with his wife Charlene. Wouldn’t it suck if Charlene gave birth on Raphael’s birthday? But I doubt Charlotte would really care. She seems to not really care one way or the other.

I *think* she did marry him in a civil ceremony, in Monaco…. right before the baby was born.
If she didn’t, it’s probably because she has too much damn money and it would be a hassle. Her brother’s wife is already an heiress to a billion dollar fortune, so it doesn’t matter.
I like them a lot, cute couple.I really don’t think she will marry him anytime soon or ever. She is kind of settle on idea of raising her child one way or the other. Gad is one great comedian, he comes from very strong religious background, Which means that she will need to convert and I just don’t see her doing that.
@ Talie – No, they are not married although they are often referred to as being fiancés. Gad has had a string of relationships but nothing was “cemented”, even with the mother of his older son. Nowadays, it is very popular in France to be in long-term relationships with a civil status that gives benefits as if you were married but without actually going down that specific committment road.
I have not seen many photos of Raphaël. Here in France, they will fuzz-out the face on any young child, even adolescent ones sometimes, because gossip mags are so often taken to court. He is really a cute child and favours Charlotte a lot! Charlotte looks really taken with Gad in these pics … hope it lasts for them.

I’ve always been a fan of Charlotte because she seems very down-to-earth and normal. She enjoys the right type of fame; known but not aggressively public. She’s not an insatiable attention-seeking celebrity wannabe, she doesn’t tell or show us every detail of her life 24/7. Only recently she started doing interviews especially after she became the face of Gucci Makeup.

In that third picture, t is eerie how much she looks like her mom when she was that age. Almost identical. And she does appear to be an attentive mom. Beautiful baby.
Charlotte is gorgeous and looks like her mother who looks like her mother, ergo, Charlotte looks like her grandmother. Baby looks like his father. Father looks like Jerry Seinfeld.
What a gorgeous and adored little boy! Kudos to his parents for keeping him out of the spotlight! Oh, and I love the name Raphael as he looks almost angelic.

I have been following Charlotte for a while now… I think she is absolutely gorgeous, natural, effortless… she looks so relaxed and happy. I am really hoping her relationship makes it through the long haul because they look and seem like a great couple. ever since I went on vacay and passed through Monaco, ive been obssesed! lol
