I mentioned in yesterday’s SAG Awards Lupita Nyong’o post that people are still shipping Lupita and Jared Leto. Jared and Lupita went through the 2014 awards season together, and they seemed to develop a sweet, flirtatious friendship. They presented together at the SAGs on Sunday and they seemed to still have a lot of chemistry together. Jared kept touching her too. Not in a gross way, but in a come-here-baby-doll kind of way. Some of you yelled at me and said that no one should ever come between Lupita and her relationship with K’naan. Except that Us Weekly says Lupita and K’naan are done. And they say Lupita and Jared were extra-friendly at the SAG afterparty.
Could Jupita be a thing?! Lupita Nyong’o and Jared Leto, the sexiest fake couple at the 2015 SAG Awards, attended an afterparty at Sunset Tower in West Hollywood on Sunday, Jan. 25, where they were spotted getting “very flirty,” an observer tells Us Weekly.
Meanwhile, another source confirms to Us that Nyong’o is single after splitting from her rapper boyfriend K’naan. The insider close to Nyong’o tells Us that the 12 Years a Slave actress was the one to break off her relationship from K’naan. Their split happened last year, the source adds.
Meanwhile, the eyewitness at the Meiomi Wines-sponsored bash tells Us that Leto was making moves and “majorly flirting” with the Brooklyn beauty. Earlier that evening, last year’s Oscar winners for Best Supporting Actress, 31, and Actor, 43, both presented onstage at the 21st Annual SAGs, where their chemistry was palpable — so much that it sparked reaction from social media fans.
The party observer adds that the Dallas Buyers Club actor “was a whirlwind” at the West Hollywood hotspot. “He came in and spoke to Harvey [Weinstein] for a second, than raced right for Lupita,” the insider tells Us. “He hugged her and started whispering to her quietly.”
The unattached actress was receptive to Leto’s attention, following his lead as he “dragged her right to the dance floor.”
While dancing, the stars “were whispering and laughing” closely together. “At one point they were sticking their tongues out at each other and staring into each other’s eyes,” the observer adds to Us. “It was very flirty. Then Jared said he had to go but he told her to text him later and he ran off.”
Nyong’o and Leto’s flirtatious ways are nothing new. The two swept the stage at the MTV Movie Awards last April, a month after their big Oscar wins, and subsequently dodged dating rumors at Paris Fashion Week.
My vibe is still that Jared wants it and Lupita is holding back. Of course, I think Jared is probably a crazy flirt around most women, but he probably puts Lupita on the top of his “Perfect Girl” list. Of course he does! SHE’S A PRINCESS. While they could be very hot for a night or two, I don’t blame Lupita at all for not wanting it to go any further than flirting. I get the feeling that Jared would be a mess to date long-term. Plus, if Michael Fassbender hears that Lupita is suddenly single, don’t you think he’s going to try to make that happen?
Oh, and if Lupita married Jared she would be Lupita Leto. That’s reason enough to TRY!

He might be a sweet person, and bis have to be respected, but… Leto seems that he need a major wash and a change of friends, he seems promiscuous.
What’s so confusing? When he was allegedly with Arquette she was in male form and he has also been linked to several woman, Lupita included. That means he can possibly (if the Alexis rumors are true) be attracted to both genders. Being bi means you are attracted to both genders.
I’m not sure why that matters but I personally think Lupita could do better..

He’s so awful. I think this is hard for many here to accept having put Lupita on such a high pedestal. She’s been seen with Leto and Uncle Terry quite often since last years post award season. These are the people she associates herself with.
And an observation. Leto is gross and many here have said that, but now that Lupita has showed interest he’s getting more positive feedback by association. It shouldn’t be hard work to keep a person so elevated. When we start seeing more pics of Lupita with Terry just wait. He won’t be so bad either because Lupita is in close proximity.

Absolutely. Usually my opinion of a sleazy guy improves a lot whenever a woman I hold in high esteem is interested in him. But I’ve heard nasty stuff about Leto from RL sources (who are not into celeb gossip) so this is probably the only example where the guy taints the lady for me.
I want better for Lupita, but I do think it would be funny to see Jared with someone who’s prettier than he is.

Agree. They may be one half step up from In Touch, and some folks to speak to them (mostly b list and down) but they have just as many stories about fake pregnancies, marriages, feuds and break-ups. They use the line about folks speaking to them when they were speaking at a press conference or on the red carpet, when they were saying the same things to everyone.
they make up quite a bit. lots of things happen behind closed doors that will never get out and the entertainment business is small anyway so filling a paper every week or even every day is impossible without lying. you also see that with regular news, most of it is speculation and opinion and not facts.
they are more reliable as they research (Kristen and her cheating for example) and they dont go for the silliest rumors like Intouch, Star or Enquirer or Hollywood Life.
People is the most reliable when it comes to negative stories because they wouldnt print them if they werent sure because they dont want to offend any celeb. they are also the friendlist mag to celebs.
U.S. Weekly has been wrong so many times.
They gave Pr.Harry a girlfriend for months and had him proposing to her, when she was a one night peck in a nightclub never to be seen by him again.
They do seem to make up stories on very little evidence if they think they’ll sell.
