This post is for some of my favorite looks of the Grammys. I’m realizing just now that my favorite looks were some of the simplest and most minimalist, but maybe that’s what I like? I think the Grammys can and should veer towards the over-the-top, the stunt, the look-at-me costumes and performances, but what always happens is that the people who are dressed in simple, flawless clothes end up getting most of the attention anyway.
Anyway, Gwen Stefani was hands-down one of my absolute favorites at last night’s Grammys. She wore this Atelier Versace which just rocked my world. It was beautifully tailored, it looked amazing on Gwen’s body and the construction was gorgeous. Gwen looked so Botoxy last year too, but last night her face moved and she didn’t look as waxy as before. I hope she stopped tweaking.
Jennifer Hudson wore this super-simple Tom Ford dress with some simple diamonds and a great short haircut. I think this is the best J-Hud has looked in a long time!!
Anna Kendrick killed it in this black Band of Outsiders suit. This was seriously one of my favorite looks and it’s possibly the best black suit we’ve seen in YEARS.
And finally, here’s Helen Lasichanh and Pharrell Williams, both in custom Adidas. Pharrell has a line with Adidas now, and I guess he designed this stuff for himself and Helen. He also changed into a bellhop costume for his performance of “Happy” – you can see the video here.

Anna Kendrick pretty much slayed me with this outfit. Seriously my favourite look of the night. I just. Ugh. I’ve never seen her look this good EVER. And I like her a lot, so that’s sayinh something.
Gwen looks amazing here as well. Very pretty.
Right?! Anna came on stage and I had a REACTION to it. She looked sexy and confident. Usually she’s a meh and she looks uncomfortable!
Yes! My husband said “who is that?” And not in the same tone he used when he asked that about Miley Cyrus either. :-/
Kendrick could teach J. Aniston how to wear a pant suit. She looked drop-dead gorgeous.
AK almost never misses. She’s low key in her private life, and still a great actor. And in her interviews and on her social media she isn’t a foot in mouth person. She and Elizabeth Banks are my favorite actresses for fashion, talent, and gals I would drink with.

I thought Aniston’s suit was nice. It’s a different cut too. I like that Anna didn’t go with the body jewelry though. You’re already showing skin. You shouldn’t have to direct all eyes there too. And I like that Aniston used color.
AK has been hit/miss on the red carpet but that black pantsuit is perfection. The pants were the right length and the jacket was perfectly tailored. Aniston’s pantsuit did not flatter her at all. The pants were too long and the jacket was too boxy. She’s already kind of stumpy-looking and the jacket only emphasized that.
Wow. Stefani looks absolutely perfect. I wouldn’t change a single thing about that look. Hudson looks great, too. Simple, clean styling. I would like Kendricks suit so much more if it weren’t quite so low cut. I’m not loving this trend of super low plunging suits on women. It just seems too try hard and “look at meeeee!”
Anna looks great but I wish some women put a shirt under these suits for once (ordinary shirt not a a formal shirt meant to worn under suits, I do not know what they are called in English).

AK is young, slender, and perky enough to get away without a shirt. And the suit isn’t terrribly deep like it could expose more. I think the suit is tailored perfectly!
Gwen is always perfection with her red carpet styles. Maybe because it’s great style. Maybe because she can pull off what many can’t.
Loved Gwen since I had the first no doubt rolling Stone spread all over my closet door in middle school. And she looks the same. Just stunning!!

The top even has a curvy shape that ties into the Grammy logo behind her, and also ties into a musical staff, or note.

Gwen looks SO GOOD. I love the scrunchiness of the pants and the detail and construction on the top is incredible. Also, I don’t think Anna K. has ever looked this good to me either. Good work!
Pharrell’s wife is brave to wear that jumpsuit. It is a camel-toe situation waiting to happen. BUT I saw a picture where they glowed in the dark which is pretty cool.
And you are always going to be second fiddle to his loveliness, so you may aswell have fun.
I loved both of Gwyn’s outfits the red dress she wore for her performance was amazing and I want Anna Kendrick’s hair.
Gwen needs Jennifer’s lip color, but otherwise she looks fantastic.
I think Jennifer looks good, but the top of the dress needs a better fit.
Anna’s suit does look good, but again, the waist could’ve used better tailoring.
The Adidas outfits are horrible.
I’ve always loved Gwen’s style even during her appropriating Harajuku fashion phase, she was topnotch.
Kendrick looked good. But guys, the nasal-drone, flat-line voice, on the other hand…

Helen is so pretty. Gwen too. With Gwen’s lovely face and blonde she looks wonderful in anything she wears as long as she doesn’t go back to the garish red lipstick. Helens suit is so cute! She has a great figure, mother of 2, right?
Madonna should learn from Gwen, who is aging gracefully. She continues to be fashion forward, edgy, sexy, but stylish, not garish. People look at her and go WOW, they look at Madonna and go WTF.
The tuxedo styling is nice, but needs a shirt. The straight legs are better with this style as well, not wide legged and puddled.
Kendrick’s pant suit was what Aniston’s rust colored pantsuit awhile back should have looked like. Tailored much better, although I still would have taken a couple of inches off the cleavage.
Anna and Gwen look great, sometimes, less is more.

Her performance, though, was sooooo terrible. I was uncomfortable. She isn’t a singer, she is a “vocal stylist” and that was a poorly written song that required too much singing from her.
I am straight OBSESSED with JHud’s necklace. I love that it is a diamond choker and that it is so delicate looking. I need me a knockoff ASAP
