Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and their kids are back in New York after taking a short detour to Washington last week. Angelina is still filming scenes for Salt while Brad takes care of the kids. On Friday, while Angelina was working, Brad took his boys Pax and Maddox to lunch at the New York restaurant Mars 2112. Brad had called ahead so he and his boys would get VIP treatment from the staff, and there’s even a “source” who claims to OK! that the waitstaff were fighting over who got to serve on the boys:
With mom Angelina busy shooting scenes uptown in Washington Heights, her two older sons, Maddox and Pax, enjoyed a boys-only lunch with proud pop Brad Pitt at one of their favorite Manhattan restaurants on Friday afternoon.
Of course, the boys being boys, their favorite restaurant isn’t some 4-star, $150 a plate celebrity haunt, but alien-themed tourist fave Mars 2112.
According to restaurant insiders, Brad called ahead to arrange a VIP table for him and his sons. And the A-lister definitely got that VIP treatment from the staff. “Waiters were squabbling over who got to serve them,” one witness tells OK!. “I overheard one of them complaining to a co-worker, ‘It was my turn to wait on Brad!'”
But perhaps that’s because the last time Brad brought his brood to Mars 2112, he dropped a $100 tip on a $45 check!

So was Angelina really working? Or was the whole “honey, I have to go jump on tall buildings today” thing just an excuse to get liquored with some day traders?
OK! has another story about just that – Angelina went to Sir Harry’s bar at the Waldorf Astoria hotel by herself. She ended up having drinks with a couple of guys, and then she ate some pretzels, but not the peanuts! Shocking. OK! has more:
Angelina Jolie is definitely not all business and family, all the time – in fact, the busy mom of six doesn’t mind hitting the bar alone without Brad Pitt!
Last Friday night, March 6, Brad left NYC and Angie decided to have a solo night out of her hotel room, heading down to Sir Harry’s bar in the Waldorf Astoria and taking a seat right at the bar.
“She was with a couple guys talking business and laughing,” an insider tells OK!. “She was so skinny. There were peanuts on the table and she wasn’t eating any, and then they brought some pretzels and she ate those. She was happy they brought them over.”
One eyewitness says Angie even relaxed with a few drinks—Belvedere vodka on the rocks. She and partner Brad have been very friendly with fellow hotel guests, as they came down to the bar many nights before Angie’s solo night, joking with folks and even signing a few autographs.
This week the family has been staying in a suite with their kids, and haven’t returned to hang out at the bar yet. Just in case, better get those pretzels ready!

I never eat bar peanuts either. Granted, most of the bars I go to have especially rancid-looking peanuts sitting out. I’m sure the Waldorf Astoria has luxury peanuts refreshed every hour sitting out.
With this latest breathless coverage of Brangelina’s daily whereabouts, I just end up having sympathy for them. This happens every time they’re in New York. That city doesn’t give them any peace, everybody’s always calling in tips about where they are and what they’re doing. It’s like a turkey-shoot, with the paparazzi as the shooters.

Thats the cost of being famous and having millions of dollars in the bank because of it…They could stop making movies and collecting money and kids and move away, and they would be forgotten ..its thier choice.
the paparazzi also have a choice between chasing them where ever they go and leaving them alone. Brad and Angelina shouldn’t have to live like hermits in order to get some peace and quiet.

Oh, come on. Character traits of such high-profile actors are going to include a love for attention and narcissism. I’m sure it’s a welcome reassurance to remain interested in. I bet they’d feel unease if a pap wasn’t waiting outside a public toilet when they come out. These people are celebrities and, thanks to crap like Mr and Mrs Smith, not exactly just in this for their artistic integrity.
She looks like a neurotic anorexic grandmother. There is nothing sexy about her anymore, poor thing.

Wish there was a law that the paps can’t go after celebrity children. Kids didn’t sign up for this abuse (and it is abusive as well as intrusive). Do we need to see the Affleck kid going to school every day, or that Kingston kid in the playground? At least they should not be able to come within a 100 feet or something. they can use long range lenses and not be up in the poor kids faces.
can’t wait to see Salt – jolie is a strong, versatile and skilled actress…. this movie will worth my time.

My family watched In Bruges and Slumdog last night. There is so much good entertainment that does not involve these two.
The idea that she went to a bar unchaperoned by a male relative is indeed ludicrous.
I think drinking with strange men is better than drinking with familiar men, especially when you have six children.
OK. One – I agree with Baholicious – I don’t eat or drink *anything* in a bar/pub that isn’t opened in front of me (and I don’t care if it is St Patrick’s Day or almost St Patrick’s Day – hello!).
Two – isn’t anyone going to comment on Maddox’s expression and suggest something about the type of person he is (like those posts that suggest Zahara is ‘fierce’ and how she is ‘mean’ to Shiloh, all based on photos of the captured facial expression)? Please don’t let me down – Maddox looks like he could be evil in that header photo, and so, doesn’t that suggest he could be attempting the overthrow of the Empress (ie Ange)?? Thoughts… ideas?

Why did they have the twins?
Neither of them is raising them or spending any time with these babies.
Another really cruel thing they do is leave most of the children home, while taking out only one or two of them.
IF you can’t handle more than one ore 2 of your children, then don’t adopt or have more children, until the ones you have are bigger.
If is very cruel for the child that is left behind while the “chosen” ones get to spend time with their parent and get to go eat with him.
Sorry but the over-saturation of this pair and family has me totally turned off to any of their projects….ANY! Big deal! Brad and boys EAT LUNCH~! while kids in the U.S. are going hungry, uh huh. Angie does her own stunts, well where is the news in that? I saw MAMS after all…..her biggest stunt was seducing a married man….but then that’s old news….just tell them to go away…preferably to another planet! permanently!

Ned, how many kids do you have? And what are their ages? Would you have preferred that Brad take all six kids from the six year old to the twin infants out by himself in New York? Because that would be stupid.
And have you never heard of spending special time with kids at different times when you have more than one kid? Even parents with just two kids do this: maybe mom has a special day just with one kid and then dad has a special day with another kid another day. That way they each get some one on one time and don’t always have to share the parents with each other. It’s good for bonding and for knowing your kids as individuals instead of “the kids.”
Last time they were photographed with all six kids, at the airport (GASP!!!!), they were criticized for trying to get publicity. It doesn’t matter what they do, some people always see it in a negative light, period.
It is ridiculous to criticise them for taking time out to pay special attention to each child. If the boys’ have a day out with daddy, the girls have the same with mom. I think it’s healthy and I think it’s smart parenting, millions of people with large families across the world do it everyday. The children look well looked after, healthy and stable. Not to mention very loved. What on earth could ANYONE find to criticise about that??????
Mars 2112 is NOT $150 a plate by any means. It’s actually very reasonably priced.
Cassie is 100% correct. Angelina was working in DC on March 6th all day and there are tons of pixs of her at work. And there are tons of pixs of Angelina working in DC on March 7th all day as well. So this bar story is just made up like 99.9% of gossip.
I have 3 kids, take the older one for special days without the younger ones. Any parent knows that different age kids enjoy different type activities. When my kids were infants they were mostly home which is where the 8 month old Jolie-Pitt twins should be at this time.

Plus, it’s not like it’s even their fault. Every single set of Brad and Angelina pics gets posted EVERYWHERE. Only TomKat gets that kind of coverage, and lately they haven’t been. Angelina Jolie filming Salt pics can be found all over the place. I’m a fan and even I get sick of it – but that’s not their fault that every blog writer in the world feels the need to post every Brad and Angelina pic they see.
It always amuses me that people whine about them being overexposed because you seriously don’t have to look at and comment on every post containing someone you hate. You really, really don’t.

How do you supposed a child in such a family feels, when they need to compete for the simple “privilege” of eating lunch with their father on a weekend.
Seriously, if a father can’t even take more than 2 children for lunch, then, clearly he is not ready for more children any time soon.
Having children just so other people who are hired help will raise your children, is a travesty and detrimental for the children who keep being left behind.
^^ You know, there’s a huge difference between having one photographer take a picture of you in your house and parading your child outside your hotel in front of a group of 20-30 day after day.

Ned: Brad took the BOYS out, for a BOYS bonding day(unfortunately, apart from the eight months old baby boy, he only has TWO boys, hence the reason the table was reserved for three)
Sometime he does a daddy and GIRLS days out, in which case he takes Shiloh and Z out (the 8 month old girl twin is once again left home – for the obvious reason that she is too young)
This also works vice-versa for Angie, in case you were wondering.
Other times, the family all go out (the twins stay home again, like Shiloh had to do when she was a toddler).

The more that celebs try to hide their kids the worse the paps get. Brad and Angie try to let the kids live normal lives and if the cameras click away they just smile and get it over with.

Saturday I took my girls for a mani/pedi but I left my 3 y.o.twin boys at home with my mom. OOh I’m a bad parent.Ned should I lose custody since I didn’t take all my kids with me.Mars 2112 is an alien themed restaurant with video games rooms maybe the girls don’t like that stuff
It was really nice today reading the comments of people who have brains and use them. They are parents. When I was a child my Mom and I would go out all the time without my brothers. Sometimes she did things with just them. No I was never jealous. I just looked forward to our special time. As far as the kids go. These kids are pursued more then a Zuma, Violet or even Suri. The paps and the public go crazy. I am sure Brad/Angie try to avoid it as much as possible without ever taking the kids out.
