Us Weekly: Kim Kardashian & Kanye West are expecting a boy

wenn22547904

I wondered when we would find out the sex of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s second baby. By most accounts, Kim is more than three months along in her second pregnancy. She has said repeatedly that she is not expecting twins, although I wouldn’t put it past her to lie about that (but for now I choose to believe her). From what I remember of Kim’s first pregnancy, she never came out and said that she was expecting a girl, but it was widely speculated that North would in fact turn out to be a girl. I feel like the “rules” for telling people the sex of your second child are a little bit looser? Like, you can tell people earlier and it’s no big deal. What I’m saying is that I kind of believe that Us Weekly might have a legit source (Jonathan Cheban?) who told them that Kim and Kanye are expecting a BOY this time around.

Too bad the name Reign is already taken! Multiple sources confirm that Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West are giving 2-year-old daughter North a little brother. “Kanye loves Nori more than anything, but to make his world complete he wanted a little boy, an heir,” says a source close to West. “He’s overjoyed!”

Kardashian is elated as well. “Kim always wanted two kids,” says a Kardashian pal. “A girl and a boy.”

Kardashian, 34, and West, 38, documented their struggle to conceive baby No. 2 on E!’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Over the past year, the fashionista underwent in vitro fertilization, consulted a cadre of doctors, and even talked to psychic John Edward.

Kim has said that she didn’t even mind her severe morning sickness. “I can barely get out of bed,” she continued. “But it’s so worth it. I don’t really care.”

Kardashian felt well enough to browse for boys’ baby clothes with West at New York City boutique Trico Field June 1. “Just like Nori,” says the West source, “this kid will be well-dressed.” Bring on the custom-made Balmain!

[From Us Weekly]

This is totally coming from a child-free person, but it seems to me like boys’ clothes are always going to be less exciting than girls’ clothes. While I don’t doubt that Baby Boy Kardashian-West will be wearing designer duds, there won’t be this rush from major designers to dress this baby like there was with North West. I mean, North got tons of designer swag from everybody. And who will send Easton West designer stuff? Ralph Lauren?

As for the names… if it is a boy, I’m no longer feeling Winter West. Easton West, sure. December West? Yes, I could see that too.

Can you even tell the sex at 12 weeks

    • Poink517 says:

Yep. There are blood tests that will tell you that early.

      • Sabrine says:

How lucky can you get! A boy and a girl. The million dollar family. Who cares how the pregnancy happened….it’s their business and it’s turned out perfectly for them.

    • KellyBee says:

I think they geneticly seceted the sex of this baby hence the IVF.

    • Size Does Matter says:

I’m having a boy in October. We have known since week 11 due to a blood test available to older moms (I’m 37) to check for chromosome problems. The test can be done at week 10. It was a little strange knowing it is a boy so early, before I was showing at all.

But like others have said, if she did IVF, they probably pre-selected the boys before implantation.

      • minx says:

Do they still do amnios? That what I had with my two kids way back when; I was an older mother too. The huge needle going into my abdomen!

      • Dani says:

It’s not confirmed though until 20 weeks. When I had my daughter they told me at 13 weeks it was a girl. but the ultrasound tech said nothing is certain until the baby develops all body parts and is at the phase of just ‘growing’. The only like 100% is an amnio that is only available for women 35 and up, unless there is a potential health risk to the baby.

      • Tdub30 says:

Yes, they do still do amnios. I was 41 with my last son and started prenatal treatment late. Too late for blood tests to determine any genetic abnormalities so amniocentesis it was 😒. And it hurt like a sonofab*tch! Lol

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Hey, congratulations! I didn’t know you were expecting – that’s wonderful! You will be such a cool, unKimlike mom – the best kind. Lol Very best of luck with everything and please keep us posted. xx

      • Natty says:

The new test done in the first trimester is a blood draw. They’re able to separate fetal cells that are floating around in mom’s blood and do genetic analysis on them. You don’t have to wait until 20 weeks to confirm the sex, because they already have baby’s DNA, it’s not a visual check during an early ultrasound.

      • Size Does Matter says:

Yes, @Natty, that’s what I had – the fetal DNA test. It was total sorcery. I still don’t understand how they were able to isolate the baby’s DNA out of my blood, but the little scoundrel better behave himself because he’s totally going in a database somewhere. This test was not even available two years ago when I had number three.

They do still do the more invasive tests, like amniocentesis and CVS (chorionic villi sampling) but this DNA one is safer.

Thanks @GNAT! I find it very hard to believe I’m about to be a mother of four. It’s crazy where life can take us.

      • Pina Colada says:

Hey all- is this test standard in the US? I am going in for my first prenatal visit next week and I WANT IT, but will I get it? Or is it only for over 35 or some special case?

      • Size Does Matter says:

Not standard. You have to ask for it. It may not be covered by your insurance if you aren’t considered high risk, either by age or for another reason.

      • nicegirl says:

Congrats to you, Size Does Matter!! I have two sons, both are loves of my life.

        An awesome adventure, raising boys!

    • Lindy79 says:

Thanks guys :), genuinely didn’t know, it wasn’t snark at Kimye. Any friends of mine have found out a the 20 week scan so wasn’t sure.

      Congrats Size! x

    • AG-UK says:

don’t they do amnio if you are over 35 then you know maybe it’s changed since my son was born wasn’t blood tests.

  2. Shambles says:

Eynak, if it’s a boy. That’s Kanye’s name backwards, and you know Kanye couldn’t bear to see his heir gifted with any name less spectacular than his own. Can’t wait to meet you, baby Eynak.

  3. Amy says:

If they name the kid Easton West I want God to high-five them with a thunder bolt, there’s a limit.

I want them to dress the kids like mini-Me’s of themselves. With North is incredibly elaborate and impractical clothes no one would put on a toddler and the boy in sweats looking vaguely homeless and angry with horribly stupid sneakers.

    • Carol says:

I want them to pretend they’re literary and name him Wilde. It’s not like he has much of a chance anyway and no reason his sister should be the only sufferer.

      • Miffy says:

Aw, man! I was going to throw King West into the mix (it’s obnoxious, it’s conceited, it starts with a ‘K’, it has it all really) but mother of crap I want Wilde West to happen. More than anything.

  4. tifzlan says:

“… to make his world complete he wanted a little boy, an heir…”

Are we in the 1300s again? Do the Kardashian-Wests really think they’re royalty?

    • FingerBinger says:

That heir comment was dumb but we are talking about Kardashians.

    • Size Does Matter says:

Exactly, because a girl doesn’t count as an heir. Gross.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Yeah, sorry mom and dad that you wasted all that love on me. I apologize for not being a boy.

      • me says:

I know, how ridiculous. I can’t stand people who don’t feel “satisfied” until they have a son. I know of many who had 5 girls and then finally gave up. How do you think those daughters feel knowing they were only born because you “hoped it was a boy but got disappointed”. Anyways, I’m guessing this child will be a boy because with IVF you can choose the gender if you want. Sad.

      • Lensblury says:

Ugh, yes. I was an only child until both my parents remarried 13 years later. I was born in the mid-80s. After my birth, my paternal grandpa pulled my mom aside (to the kitchen, fittingly) and told her, “you better see to it that your next child is a boy.” Needless to say, my mom was fuming mad, grossed out and heavily disappointed. It also didn’t take too long until my parents divorced because, being his father’s child, my own dad had an odd sense of family and gender-specific “duties”.

Over the years, my granddad softened up on me and treated me nicely, while still remaining the domineering head honcho of the family. My dad’s also getting easier to be around, but there’s constant wrangling.

I come from harsh, rather loveless and career-oriented families on both sides. I’m a woman who was put through withdrawal of affection by her parents and co-guardians (raised by maternal grandparents). Now I work in a male-dominated field where women are often objectified and degraded verbally (music), and I keep suppressing my vulnerable, more feminine side because I’m still scared of being attacked for being female, or maybe more precise, an incomplete man. Also: I was raped as a teenager, and that’s when I stopped showing my sexy side.

I’m thankful for therapy being an option in this age. After tackling other issues, my last goal before ending my therapy this summer is to establish a mindset for myself where it’s possible to show my beautiful feminine side again and still be great and successful – one where I can be happy and really proud of my achievements.

Thoughts like my grandpa’s wanting a male heir for his friggin’ ego are pure poison for this development – because these thoughts are not only established in male heads. But they also spark the fight for equality. My dad has three kids – two of them strong, smart and caring daughters. 🙂 They sow the wind and reap the whirlwind.

    • TeaAndSympathy says:

How about that for a name – Royal? Royalty and Reign sare taken, and so is Prince. King? Re? KanRe? He wants a name with “power”, like North – always at the top, pointing up etc. Apex? Acme? Crown, Pinnacle, Max, Top / Topp, Zenith, or my favourite, Klimax?

      • me says:

        Haha @ Klimax.

They should name the boy Ray-J after the person that helped launch Kim’s career.

      • Size Does Matter says:

@TeaandSympathy – I hope not Royal West. Immediately made me think Royal Pest. I bet they’re extra sensitive to nicknames after some genius gave us IgNori.

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

Well clearly Kanye’s brand of ego is only sustainable if it flows through the blood of someone with a penis. Otherwise he will be forced to shoulder that immense arrogance all by himself.

  5. Argirl says:

I bet they did gender selection through IVF to ensure they will have a boy. **pure speculation because it seems like something they would do**

  6. Aussie girl says:

If it’s a boy, I’m going with Wild.

  7. guest says:

I predict the little guys name will be Weston West.

  8. Rachel says:

    Easton West. Love it! Lmao

  9. Mia V. says:

Poor boy will get dressed as Kanye all the time.

    • word says:

Well North gets dressed like Kanye all the time…so I think the boy will get dressed in pinks and purples and the complete opposite of how North is dressed. Remember Kim and Kanye think they are fashion forward and believe they start trends (really they just copy what others do).

      • TeaAndSympathy says:

No, no, Kimye will not interfere. Just wait. Master West is sure to be as mentally-accelerated and fashion-forward as North was at 12 months old, and will have his own idea on favourite colours, styles and designers.

  10. Swack says:

@Kaiser, little boys clothes are so much more boring than little girls clothes.

  11. MrsBPitt says:

I can see Kanye wanting the baby to be named something like Prince West, or King West, or Royalty West…..you know, he and Kim, totally think that they are the royal family of America!

  12. good buddy says:

I like the name, True West. I thought they should have named Nori that.

  13. The Original Mia says:

King West or some other ridiculous name to elevate this child above others in Kimye’s mind.

  14. Katie says:

    They’re disgusting. I can’t even.

  15. Miran says:

Lord help us if this is true. Kanye already thinks he’s God so he’ll act like this is the Second Coming.

    • me says:

Can you imagine if the child is born on Christmas day ? They will call him Jesus…or Yeezus West for sure.

      • TeaAndSympathy says:

Uh oh. You make a good point, me…

      • anotherrandom says:

Well Jesus is a decently common name so that would never work. They have to be different. Though I could see him being Kanye West II and go “royal” that way.

  16. TEE JAY says:

How about Go for a first name?

  17. blue melca says:

Key West for the name please. Perfect for boy or girl.

  18. G says:

    How ’bout Bare West? LOL!

  19. Liberty says:

I am sure Edna Mode has an intern working on a name to toss onto an empty plate the next time she dines with Kanye and Kim.

  20. I don’t believe there was any ‘fertility struggle’, let’s name the kid Petri West.

  21. Miffy says:

    King West
    Wilde West
    West West
    Best West
    Just West

    Place yo’ bets, folks!

  22. Aurelia says:

Still can’t believe they called their kid North West. Only drunken, undeducated hillbillies or trailer tashies would do that. Anna Wintour was joking when she suggested it. Kimmode and Yezzus are such sicophants they did what she said, for rills.

  23. Ankhel says:

Cesar West. Or Kaiser West, since that was how that name was pronounced in Rome – and then it became the german word for emperor. Sorry Kaiser – but I bet they have thought about it, the megolomaniacs. Pray for Khan West, or Knight West.

  24. wow says:

    Congrats to them.

  25. iheartgossip says:

Did the ‘birth mother’ let them know via text or phone call. I buy nothing the Klan / Jen sell. Their mouth opened? And a lie fell out? Shocking.

  26. nicegirl says:

Gymboree and The Children’s Place, although not designer, have a great selection of super cute and cool, very well made boys’ clothes.
