Justin Bieber wore a Marilyn Manson shirt & Manson got offended

Yesterday, Justin Bieber wore this retro Marilyn Manson t-shirt to a Hillsong Church conference in Australia. Many consider Hillsong to display cult-like leanings, but Bieber simply wants to be seen as a good Christian. This is part of his ongoing redemption tour. Why is Swaggy wearing a blasphemous Manson t-shirt? I suspect he’s doing so ironically and for the same reason Kendall Jenner wore a Megadeth tee to Coachella. Neither Kendall nor Swaggy cares about the music, they’re simply trying to seem disaffected and hipstery.

See? A few days ago, Bieber wore a retro Metallica shirt too!

Justin Bieber

I doubt Swaggy put much thought into wearing either of these shirts. Metallica certainly doesn’t care who’s wearing their t-shirts. But Manson? He’s reacting far too much over the sighting. Manson Instagrammed the header picture plus two more pics about Bieber wearing his shirt. He captioned one of them, “The real hell word.” He’s either amused or disgusted. I prefer the latter option but, above all, hope Manson isn’t flattered by the association.

This is how Manson should have looked when he saw this news.

Suddenly feel the need to listen to some Metallica, which will get me all revved up this morning. Watch out!

  2. GetOffYourHighHorse says:

Marilyn Manson is the master of shade!!

  3. NewWester says:

This “redemption tour” Justin has been on lately makes me think something not too flattering is going to hit the fan soon. He and his management team want to clean up his image before the upcoming storm. Maybe he and Bristol Palin hooked up?

    • Lilacflowers says:

      Perhaps he’s the Mystery Daddy?

      • NewWester says:

Maybe that is why Sarah has not said anything. She is in her basement putting up posters of him, while singing “Baby,Baby Baby”

I know he has always claimed to a christen, but this appearance at the hillsong gathering makes me think that a big check was involved , as well as a tick for his new clean image.
Didn’t MM sing or have an album about been the anti Christ..? It’s probably not the best tshirt to wear to a happy clapper convention. Also in the Metallica pic he looks like his got love bites/hickeys on his neck..?

  4. Aren says:

Oh please! MM did a song with Taylor Momsen for god’s sake! Johnny Depp also played guitar onstage with him a few times.
These days he’s a joke himself.

    • ORLY says:

Exactly. And I disagree that Beiber doesn’t care about the music. Love him or hate him, he has been involved with music since he was old enough to walk; from playing instruments to singing.

They should do a collab immediately. Think of all the gloriousness of Brian getting his bitch on about working with Biebs. Next up-Marilyn Manson wearing diaper pants and a Biebs baseball cap.

  6. bns says:

Marilyn Manson is just as embarrassing as Bieber tho.

The children are going through their “I just discovered The Beatles, have you heard of them???” phase a little late these days, no? I think we were more like 14, 15?

I feel kind of bad for Bieber. He’s just wearing a shirt! Can he not wear any known brands or use identifiable items now or those creators get mad and blast him? If he was singing a Manson song or something I get that. I guess. I know Bieber is grossly rich and grossly arrogant/entitled. But he definitely knows that the world dislikes him and I’m sure that feels crappy.

    • MeloMelo says:

He was disliked since he started and thats gotta feel terrible. I tend to think he was already douchy, but the constant hate on him capitalized his douchiness.

It’s annoying when people wear band T-shirts from bands they don’t even like/have never heard of.
I get BITTER about it because it happened one too many times that I’d start a conversation with someone while they’re wearing a Metallica, Nirvana, Slayer, Ramones, etc. shirt and don’t even know wtf they’re wearing. And I used to get shit in school for wearing metal/rock band shirts and seeing the “cool crowd” wearing them ticks me off. I don’t see people wearing 90s Britney Spears or Spice GIrls merch. Why can’t that be oh so ironic and nostalgic?

    • Adrien says:

I’ve seen hipsters wear Selena Gomez and Britney shirts. Wore them ironically, I guess. I’ve seen Color Me Badd shirts in some charity shops. Shirt says “I adore mi amore” at the back. It feels comfy. Should have bought one.

    • Joanne_S says:

I hear ya girl, in high school we would’ve gotten on well together!

Seriously tho. I wanna rip that Metallica shirt off him (that’s a first, lol) & send him to detention for despoiling it.
Oh, and, “I’m not going to wear clothing displaying artists from grown-up genres who are leagues above me” a 100 times in your Hannah Montana notebook STAT!

      • Marrrrria says:

        Despoiling it, HA! 😀
I think it’s hilarious how everybody wants to be seen as different and F**CKING EDGY MAN 😀 nowadays but back in the day it was more of a “go with the stream or you’re a freak” situation.
For what it’s worth: I’d love to see TheBiebs & Co. in a Metal mosh pit 😉

My husband and I went into Hot Topic one time to look at t-shirts. My husband picked out a shirt for the old school death metal band, Death. When he was checking out, the guy behind the counter told us that this emo looking kid came in and picked up the Death shirt. He asked what they sounded like. The counter guy decided to take the piss out of this kid and told him they sounded like My Chemical Romance. The kid bought the shirt. The counter guy couldn’t believe how many people buy shirts of bands they’d never head. For what it’s worth, my husband is a real fan of the band.

      • TeaAndSympathy says:

I know exactly what you mean, Deb. I wear Rise Against, Good Riddance and my favourite, Bad Religion t-shirts all the time. I do not look like the type of woman who wears punk band shirts, but more like….Mariah Carry? Ugh. People are always surprised that, when questioned about these bands, I know my stuff. What angers me, though, is that the people who question me actually know very little (or nothing) about these bands, or punk music in general.

      • Marrrrria says:

The counter guy would’ve made my day 😀

    • greenmonster says:

H&M constantly sells band T-Shirts and then I see 13 and 14 year olds wearing them. I always want to ask those kids: “Quick, name at least three records Mötley Crüe/Pink Floyd/Guns’n’Roses have released! NO! You are not allowed to google that!” Then came the day I actually saw a Nirvana shirt at H&M. I thought this was so bitter sweet: Nirvana shirts at H&M – worn by so many girls who have no idea who Nirvana are.

I’m super enjoying that classy hickey in the first picture!

  11. Adrien says:

He was slammed by Metallica fans too for wearing Metallica shirt.
JB, have I got some hardcore metal shirts for you https://heavymetalmixtape.files.wordpress.com/2015/02/celine_collins_t_shirt_2039482348-original-824-400.jpg?w=620

  12. Deb says:

Bieber wearing a Metallica shirt reminds me of how metal heads used to be the subject of ridicule at my school. Then, when Metallica had a hit with Enter Sandman, all these assholes who made fun of us metal folk were suddenly showing up at school in Metallica shirts. Manson and Metallica have my sympathy. I wouldn’t want to be associated with that little douche either.

  13. Josefa says:

Justin Bieber is flat-out one of the most unlikeable public figures of today, and his behavior has everything to do with it. No one wants to be affiliated with this guy. Marilyn Manson is no white dove either but I can understand why he’s upset. It’s objectively stupid be upset at this, but everything related to Justin Bieber breaks the boundaries of rational thinking.

    • JMMM says:

Well, to be honest, I have heard only one JB’s song, I think it was Baby and it was on SNL. But, I’ve read about him being girl and oher not very flattering things since he became big. And it was the time, he was considered by the parents to be the good role model for their teenage girls. That being said, his behavior has nothing to do with the hate. His recent douchey image only gave for people like you the basis for the free expressing of the hate. If we were honest, we would talk about Marilyn Manson and Metallica here (and other metal artists), we would talk about their behavior, about their influence. It is only me, who remember Manson’s words that he would like to be the mother of Jesus only to kill him in his uterus? It is only me, who remember all those drug related incidents of those bands? About their misogyny? About spreading images of violence and misantropy? And don’t get me wrong, I used (and still in some level) listened to the most hardcore metal bands, death even black metal. But I am not deaf or blind or stupid to cry when someone is wearing their t-shirts. Being metal head does not make you better, being JB’s hater does not make you better. In fact, I cannot remember one thing Justin did what could be considered to be so bad that most boys in gangs don’t do. Even his “egging” was something I would consider “normal” (heck, I threw beer bottles against the church). I was black out drunk few times, I did many things I am not proud about. But this is life and he needs to figure it out. If I was that hated in that time, I would be much much worse.

Hot bodyguard in photo. I need to get one of them. Just because.
