Just in case you were wondering where the Alamooneys were for the Fourth of July holiday, the answer is… Como, Italy. Some sites got some blurry, poor quality photos of George Clooney and Amal watching the fireworks show in Como. Apparently, Julia Roberts was there too! You can see some photos here. Julia met Amal a few months ago in NYC, when Julia and George were working together on Money Monster. Julia managed to say some nice things about Amal, although… I think it could easily be a battle to the death between those two to see which one is the most self-absorbed. *GOOSE HONK* As for the Como party, according to People Magazine:
George, 54, and the British attorney, 37, welcomed about 10 guests to their home this week and hosted a Fourth of July celebration, a source tells PEOPLE. Wednesday evening, the pair also joined actor Robert De Niro, 71, and his wife for dinner, while the pair stayed at a nearby resort; and De Niro has also joined George for lunch.
George, who arrived several days before Amal, “seems to be slipping into his summer routine,” the source says, adding that though he’s now married, he has been avoiding the town’s spotlight. “They haven’t gone out all.”
E! News disputes the idea that George has been keeping a low profile though – on July 2nd, George was in Milan and he attended a Toto concert. He came on stage and sang “Africa” with the group. Because…???? Maybe that’s his favorite song? A source told E! News: “He just appeared out of nowhere. Nobody realized for a while who it was and then everyone around started screaming and shouting. They went crazy when they realized it was George.”
So what does this mean for the stories about George “blaming” his career backslide on Amal? I don’t know. I suspect he’s just in Como to lick his wounds and reorganize his Make Amal Into The Most Special Unicorn Ever campaign.

At least Amal tried. Julia looked a hot mess. She puts Jennifer Garner to shame in the bag lady department. Julia could have tried at least a little. And Amal could have toned it down. There’s a happy medium somewhere. LOL

No, it’s not celebrated in Italy. George does celebrate every year though at Como with private fireworks, watched from his yacht. Mostly with some other celebrities, this time Julia Roberts&family.
Well kind of true. They don’t celebrate the American Independence on Lake Como, but this isn’t a private 4th July firework display George Clooney organised. It happens every 4th July before he even bought a house there, it’s the closing day of the San Giovanni Festival which ends in a firework display. That is what they are watching not an American celebration but an Italian one which has nothing to do with America.
During the San Giovanni Festival they eat snails and polenta, fill the shells with oil and a wick and float them. They end the festival with a firework display representing the towns people of Como who set fire to their town to liberate themselves in the 12th century.
Well, thanks for the explanation- didn’t know that. I always wondered why it seemed so big (for a private one), but nobody so far has ever bothered to explain… Polenta, YES, snails…uhh..;-)
I wonder if George use to see TOTO in Las Vegas? They still get booked into Vegas , basically lounge or opening act or oldies shows. Toto, I saw advertised on a billboard while driving into Las Vegas a few years ago, So I guess they kept working since their heyday, probably now mostly lounge act in the U.S. Or oldies shows.

I have to say orange looks amazing on her when she’s been out in the sun. Best she’s looked, not so severe with the makeup. But the photo is not full length. I have no idea if the outfit was a miss or hit. But the color looked great.

My best friend is going to a dressy wedding in a couple of weeks, and I’m going to an awards night next week. We’re both far too casual for these posh affairs, so were debating what to buy/wear… She ended up with a lovely outfit, and a pair of shooties like those AC is wearing in Pic 2, “…because they cover and accommodate my bunions and I can actually walk in them.” she said. That’s all that footwear will ever be to me now – bunion booties.

It’s weird that she can’t just dress like any normal person watching fireworks from a boat. I mean, those heels…and they knew there was a photographer. I don’t really want to hear anything anymore about how hard she’s working, or how busy she is. Most of her time is spent in front of a mirror.

The dress is too short and the heels too high, she had to be helped onto the boat and it looked like she nearly slipped, cmon have some common sense. I thougt the papz werent aloud to photograph him around his house, what happend with wanting privacy, oh but then Amal wouldnt get to be photographed in her designer style, and George wouldnt get to show off his famous guests. All style over substance with these too. The only work she does is posing.
