Honestly, when I first heard the rumors, it made Leo a little more likeable to me. Rihanna is cooler and has more personality than all his model girlfriends combined.
Eh, Rihanna is the opposite of cool. She comes off trashy and rude. The models don’t have public personas – doesn’t mean they have no personality.
Maybe that’s Leo’s issue – being associated with low key cookie cutter models is more “neutral” than being associated with Rihanna.

Its perfectly possible to dislike Rihanna without it having squat to do with Leo or her ‘knowing her place’.

I actually agree with @Jay and @Jegede. Rhianna is aggressive, rude, and a cyber bully … have you seriously missed all of her ‘Twitter Feuds?’ She is also known to physically attack people–including her own brother–with bottles. I think Rhianna is the Jennifer Aniston of the music world. If it hadn’t been for her fight with Chris Brown, we wouldn’t be talking about her today. I don’t think there is anything special about her talent and limited vocal range, either, but that’s just my opinion.
Of course, having said that … Leo would be down on his knees (for once, instead of those poor models) thanking his lucky stars if he managed to land a sexy tigress like Rhianna. 🙂
Yeah I must say I’m beginning to wonder @Veronica. There have been a million tabloid stories on white Victoria Secret models (some true, some not) and other allegations so this feels…calculated. Also a lot of tabloids said he would marry Blake Lively as I recall. It’s not like Rhianna is married and he’s being accused of being a homewrecker. And this story doesn’t allege a pregnancy. The story is dumb but hardly defamatory. His fervour over this of all things is bizarre.
Perhaps it is personal. I red somewhere that both magazines are owned / are headed by the same boss who is the very same person who called Leo a racist after he lost in court against Leo who sued for defamation.

Maybe he’s suing because it’s a disgusting Lie, I I don’t blame him for suing. The story was awful, it wasn’t just about dating, it was about making him look racist and about making her abort a baby. I don’t believe for one minute either story. The French tabloid seems to have gone after Leo in a personal way as if it was a vendetta of some sort.
I have a French speaking friend who sells celebrity stories to French tabloids and magazines, the friend told me they will print something that they can’t prove based on sheer rumour, no real facts.
@YSOHAWT1 If that’s the case then I completely agree. Especially if he’s being accused of actual, integrity-character-damaging actions, like being a racist or misogynist, especially if fabricating an abortion is involved that’s kind of low.
The stories I saw on some websites just suggested dating, but if it was as far as suggesting he forced her to abort a baby (as IF Rihanna could be forced into something like that), then that’s a little more understandable. Also, flips the story around to be grossly racist on the part of the paper.

I have a lot of respect for the guy. He has his demons, but he has faced them head on and been victorious (over drinking and now smoking). I think he had a destructive streak a mile wide until he had his son. Good for him.

I don’t find it odd he only dates beautiful women. I doubt anybody does. I find it odd he only dates models. There’s a variety of beautiful women he comes in contact with but he is obsessed with twenty-something models. I do find it odd he is so narrow in his dating field, like he just picks the next one off of an assembly line for a couple of years and moves on. Mix it up a little.
Sure it’s a narrow dating field but only dating conventionally attractive people, which is what most celebs do, is a pretty narrow field too. Look at Brad Pitt for example. Every woman he has been in a relationship with has been conventionally attractive but no one ever accuses him of being shallow.

@Lisa, go along with his schedule? Most of the models that he’s dated are booked and very busy, traveling all the time for work because they are taking off in their career, early 20s. There’s plenty of people who could fit in his schedule just as much as these models. Rihanna hasn’t toured for several years now..

Eh, I don’t think people really care that he’s shallow. The age issue (always women under 25) seems to be more what puts people off. For me, I don’t care if he wants to be a lifelong DudeBro, but if you want to Dudebro, then own it. Don’t try to convince me that you’re a respectable Actor Artiste and green energy activist while you’re spending 3/4 of the year partying on a gas-guzzling yacht with six models on your arm. Most of us are past that stage by the time we hit our late 20s, much less our 30s, so showing up to the Oscars with your hair slicked back, beard trimmed, and paunch tucked into your waistband isn’t convincing anyone of your maturity.
Who’s to say he can’t be all those things? I don’t see how being a serious actor would exclude someone from liking conventionally attractive young women. You also have to ask if his environmental activism reduces more emissions than his perceived hypocrisy creates to judge his overall impact.

At least he’s doing great things with his prestige and wealth. In May there was an outbreak of rabies carried by foxes that was spread to the Nanavut pet community. Loads of beautiful dogs and puppies were put down. The community just didn’t have the funds for the vaccines and their special shipment. Guess who quietly stepped up with the vaccines and personally delivered them? DiCaprio, that’s who! He’s a modern day Balto who has a statue in Central Park. Look it up.
