Khloe Kardashian has been at Lamar Odom’s bedside since the 14th. She has reportedly been sleeping at the hospital and focusing all of her attention on Lamar’s medical care. Yesterday, we heard that Khloe is now focusing on Lamar’s rehabilitation, as in Lamar is still in bad shape physically and he’s going to need months of physical rehab to get back on track, and Khloe is focused on being there for him for that as well. TMZ mentioned yesterday that Khloe hasn’t spent much or any time thinking about or talking to her boyfriend James Harden. And now we sort of know why: Harden is giving Khloe “space.”
As Khloé Kardashian stays by Lamar Odom’s hospital bedside, her boyfriend James Harden is respectfully keeping his distance.
“He is so nice and being as supportive as humanly possible given the situation,” a source close to the Kardashians tells PEOPLE. “Lamar essentially has zero consistent family other than the Kardashians, and James understands that. The last thing he would want to do would be to add more stress to her plate.”
Odom, 35, woke up from a coma Friday, four days after he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel. The former basketball star is being treated at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, and his estranged wife has not left since rushing there Tuesday. Kardashian, 31, is still legally married to Odom even though they both signed divorce papers in July. The couple split in 2013, and she began dating Houston Rockets shooting guard Harden in June. Now, he’s comforting Kardashian from afar.
“He never had any intention of going to Vegas. He supports her of course, but understands she needs space and to be with Lamar,” another source tells PEOPLE.
Raise your hand if you believe that Harden really cares one way or the other. Now raise your hand if you believe Khloe gives a crap one way or the other. I mean, I have no doubt that she was having fun with Harden and all of that, but Khloe has shown the world her priorities and they involve Lamar and not James Harden. I doubt it’s any big deal and in a few weeks, we’ll probably hear that they’ve split up with no hard feelings. I didn’t get the impression that they were super-serious anyway and this Lamar situation has just put a quick end to all of that.
Oh, and Lamar has been transferred to LA by helicopter, with Khloe at his side.
Update: well, that was fast! TMZ says that Harden and Khloe have already split, or “put their relationship on hold.” Obviously.

I think Khloe has always loved Lamar, and it was only his behaviour/cheating that ended their relationship. Any excuse to go running back to him and she’s there, immediately.
She just happened to bring camera’s and her mother to boot…………..the only things the Kardashian’s are in love with is publicity and themselves.
I think PMK is doing the dance of joy privately for this unexpected ratings boon that fell into their collective laps. Although some people bought their storyline a few weeks back that Lamar “scared” and “stalked” Khloe…. It obviously wasn’t a good enough storyline to maintain. This is so much better!
They have now very conveniently swept that little incident under the rug to focus on the undying love she has for him. Oh right…. What shocks me is that people are now buying this too. What, do you really think that they will reconcile over a dialysis machine, step out of the spotlight to let Lamar heal with therapy, counselling and a home cooked meal? As soon as this angle becomes too boring for headlines she will be out of there with krokodile tears about how she is heartbroken again because their relationship cannot be saved.

I just read on CNN that Lamar has told Khloe he loves her. So yes, the constant news machine will keep grinding, reporting everything Lamar says/does that makes Khloe look good. Damn.

It’s incorrect to say he has zero family. His kids and their mother his ex has been there with khloe all this time too. His father is there too, and some elderly family members. He has family they just aren’t considered important by the media seeing that they are not famous.

I will give Khloe props for being there, though. A few years ago my mom suffered a brain injury and it was so stressful and exhausting for all of us, but we (my brother, aunt, friends) were there for her at all times and she made a full recovery. As much as I dislike the Kardashians I’ll give Khloe a thumbs-up for her staying at his side.

It said zero consistent family members though…not as in no family members but none that are consistently there for him. I dont know how close Lamar was to his family outside of his grandmother & a few aunts. He was never close to his father & just recently their relationship has improved. Before everyone jumps all over my back I agree that he has more than Khloe at his side. I’m just not sure I’d include exes, including Khloe, as family.
His grandmother who raised him. He’s the father of a 17 year old and a 13 year old. Those are consistent members of his family.

That is complete crap. He has an Aunt who has been a part of his life since he was born and flew in with Lamar’s kids. Why not give her power of attorney?
Lamar’s family is poor and the Kardashians are rich. They are probably worried about going to court 1) will pissed the Kardashians off, preventing them from seeing Lamar and 2) with their money the Kardashians will drag out the case in court.

Omitting the kids is weird, however, they’re not really of the age where they can be the sole support for their father at this time. I think he and the mother of his children have a civil relationship at best. His father is also an addict who he has a very tumultuous relationship with. It’s no real secret that Lamar barely had any sort of support system to help him deal with his addiction as this has been a long-standing problem. As much as people hate the Kardashians, I think it’s a true statement that in terms of a family support system, they’re all he has (for better or worse).

He’s had some good people in his life. His aunt is there now. What makes you think these people aren’t as supportive as kris or Kim? His daughter is the same age as Kylie whom we heard made him smile the other day… I actually think the love of his kids is what could and should motivate him. The desire to be a better dad then his own dad. In return he gets a more unconditional love that might provide a better more stable support system then a temptetous on and off relationship with the kardashian klan.

Frankly if we are ranking exes shouldn’t she get priority over Khloe seeing as they were together longer, she knew him before the success and they are forever linked by way of their kids? I wont be surprised to learn that Khloe has been rationing his family time. He can only have so many visitors at ICU and the Kardashian troop is obviously getting preference. Perhaps its for the best, given their miraculous healing powers. Their prayers healed him, yo! And Kim’s celestial presence made him smiiiile. Isn’t it obvious why the media consistently reports on the Odom tragedy through his relationship with the Kardashians? Haven’t you been paying attention to these threads? How many comments are about Lamar’s family or even Lamar FFS?
I would say 85-90% of the comments on every story since Odom was hospitalized has been about the Khloe and/or the Kardashians, whether negative or positive.

Blame Kris or the media all you want but the truth is people have more feelings about the Kardashians than they do about the Odom family. This family generates clicks, comments, and attention in general and the media isn’t stupid–they’re just giving the public the story that they’re interested in.
Hell, if Lamar Odom had never been involved with the Ks then his overdose probably wouldn’t even be covered here–he’d just be another athlete with personal demons.

The Kardashians are a big support system for him right now. I believe they stepped up and are helping take care of business roght now. I come from a big tight knit Italian family and we operate the same way. Once you marry in or have kids or are in a long term relationship with one of us, once we consider you family- thats it- you are stuck with us 🙂 and we will take care of you like family.
As for his kids, It doesnt sound like he has a traditional relationship with them. he never married their mother and it doesnt sound like he’s lived with his children in a long time. That is a seriously broken family so I’m not surprised Khloe is taking the lead here. His kids are kids-what can they do for him besides visit and support? They should be thankful to Khloe for coordinating.

ESPN had a good write up (buried immediately), that Lamar’s SpO2 levels did not indicate that he was ever without oxygen, so that’s good news. Difficult to sift through the “sources” but def sounds like he’s doing better than reported. Dude is so lucky.

He called out everyone but Khloe for likely hogging space and time in critical care that could be for his kids.
As fas as consistent family support , that’s probably true. The kids aren’t of an age to actually physically do many of the things needed to rehab. Driving, supporting daily activities in recovery, etc.. His dad clearly would not be a candidate for that either. Elderly relatives probably not . I’m a nurse and it takes mental and physical health to really be there for rehab. So like the Ks or jot. Khloe has the money and time to devote. The other ex lives across the country. While it probably is and was a toxic relationship, right now he really doesneed her (khloe) if she’s willing.
He does not need Khloe’s money or to be there for his rehab. Lamar has his own money and able to pay for someone to be there and for a driver to take him anywhere he wants to go. I highly doubt he will be doing rehab anywhere but in his own home and that include his dialysis (if needed). Khloe also has her own life and “work” to do.
Anyone who can allegedly spend nearly 80 grand on a four-day stay in a mobile home with ’employees’ on call can likely afford excellent rehab and personal care.
He may not need money or a “driver”, but he will need someone who he is close with during his initial time at home. If you’ve ever been seriously ill, you know that there are some times you just need a friend or loved one so to speak.
@Moody Blue, I get he may need someone to talk to but that does not mean she needs to be there 24/7. There are others he can talk to also. And I would not want the kind of “loved one” who constantly bashes you in public, puts all your dirty laundry out there for all to see when you break up with them (and I’ve been through the bashing from my ex to all our friends), cry “stalker” and put it all on tape.

Harden did the right thing. He needed to back off this situation. And PMK was likely shooing him away because it would interfere with her dramatic reunion storyline she’s no doubt cooking up in her cauldron. So no lesson will have been learned here, and they will try their hardest to suck Lamar back in to their vortex. If Khloe truly loves him and decides she doesn’t want to be without Lamar then she needs to break from her poisonous family and start life anew with her husband as far away from them as she can get.
Lamar needs to be focusing on his own recovery and his kids. His children definitely took a back seat to Khloe during their brief courtship and marriage.

I think the Kuntrashian Koven exaggerated a lot about his condition. There was never any statement from a hospital official so who knows what his real condition was? I believe he’s in bad shape but the Koven were ready to plan his funeral.
You can overdose and survive.. I have a few family members overdose repeatedly and survive with no damage whatsoever to their organs. I had one family member that had to be hospitalized 24 hours before releasing him because of possible damage to his kidneys.. so this tells me Lamar was not only doing coke but heroin as well. So yes, it’s possible that Lamar was in a coma for 3 plus days from an overdose.. meaning it’s the truth.
He never lost oxygen. He was breathing when he was found unconscious at the brothel. That makes a huge difference in chances at recovery as opposed to someone like Bobbi Kristina.
Just saw on the news that Lamar was moved to an LA hospital – “hopefully it’s Kamera friendly” (wishes PMK, in her Lucifer Lounge).
It really doesn’t sit well with me that just a few months ago, Khloe was calling Lamar a stalker, was yelling for him to get away from her, and was so afraid of him she got a restraining order on him, but now she’s by his side for all of this. If I was that afraid for my safety over an ex (which I have and have experience with a similar situation with my ex-fiance/father of my children) who I felt was stalking me, my compassionate side may have just reached out to the family to see if the guy was ok, but I definitely wouldn’t feel it necessary to take care of him that way. Which makes me think that they truly did set him up for a story line and it was all BS. In which case, Lamar doesn’t need any of this crap, and he better get away from these lunatics.
I don’t think Harden was anything more than a rich friend with benefits and a prop for this season. His take away is air time to all their fans which helps him be in spotlight which helps his $200 million dollar Nike deal he just signed. I do believe Lamar and Khloe love each other and I do believe he is grateful and very glad she is there. Pimpmom and ET see this as a way to put a wonderful, positive spin on the Klan, especially since they have really been bashed with more and more negativity from public. Least shocking thing ever. It was a new, casual relationship. Those often end with even the slightest strain, and this situation is a lot more serious than “slight.” I think it’s natural Khloe would want to cling to her family during this time and that a very new boyfriend would be seen as out of place and that the very new relationship might start to seem like an unnecessary burden rather than something fun.

He then explained his position on the matter by saying; ‘Not every Kardashian needs to be around. They need to keep it simple, so Lamar’s children can see him whenever they want to see him. They’re waiting in line to see their own father.’
Khloe has been by Odom’s side since Tuesday night, while Kim Kardashian was at the hospital with her mother Kris Jenner from Tuesday through Thursday and then again on Saturday when the two were joined by Kendall Jenner and Khloe’s friends Malika and Khadijah Haqq.
Kourtney Kardashian and Kylie Jenner also flew out to Las Vegas to see Odom in the hospital last week.
World Peace – who has not been to visit Odom – said his brother was banned from seeing the basketball star despite the fact that he has known him most of his life.
He also praised his Lakers teammate Kobe Bryant and their coach Mitch Kupchak for visiting Odom last Tuesday after they played an exhibition game on Tuesday – before Odom’s children Destiny and Lamar Jr. had arrived in the city with their mother Liza Morales and Odom’s aunt JaNean Mercer.

From what I cam see is Lamar didnt have a friend in the world when he really needed one. Thank god Khloe is standing by him because after the shock of his OD dies down, who do you think will be left standing by Lamars side while he goes through rehab amd recovers?
These friends will go back to their families and wives and like her or not, Khloe will be the only one left helping him. And by default, sure the Kardashiams will be supporting Khloe and thus Lamar
