Nathan Fillion, 44, finds love with George Clooney’s ex, Krista Allen, also 44

Sorry, ladies, Canadian hunk – and the actor who will always be Captain Hammer to me – Nathan Fillion, is off the market. The dashing 44-year-old star of ABC’s Castle has found love with actress Krista Allen. Her name might not be familiar, but a quick check of IMDB shows that the 44-year-old actress has a lengthy list of guest appearances on shows including Two and a Half Men, Baywatch and, yes, a little show called Castle. Krista and Nathan met back in 2014, when – in a prime example of life imitating art – Krista played a B-movie actress. Pretty good casting for a woman who played “MILF” in 2009’s The Final Destination.

In addition to Krista’s numerous roles, she also was one of George Clooney’s many paramours. The pair were in a 2-year relationship after they met during the filming of Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, which marked George’s directorial debut, in 2002. Nathan has been attached to many a Hollywood starlet himself, including his Castle co-star Stana Katic.

The new couple have been seen together all over social media of late. Krista recently posted a photo on her Instagram account of the couple together at a Halloween party dressed as a satyr and a nymph (I’m sure you can figure who played which). Another recent photo was posted by Krista’s actress pal Dina Myer, better known (to me at least) as the redhead who made co-ed showering look more appealing (to my ex-husband) in the original Starship Troopers. Dina posted a selfie of herself with the happy couple on her Instagram account. Sources close to the couple told US Weekly, “Krista is super happy. She’s been kind of unlucky in love in the past and now she’s found this genuinely nice guy who treats her well.” Another source added, “They are having a great time together.”

I remembered Krista starring in a horrible movie back in 2001, Totally Blonde, which also marked the “acting” debut of one Michael Bublé. Despite the fact that I’ll never get those 90 minutes of my life back, I don’t begrudge the woman for her (obviously) great taste, and I hope they are happy. If she could talk Nathan into any kind of Dr. Horrible sequel, then I’m totally all in with this couple.

Anyone else feeling horny? 😈 #Satyr #ForestNymph #halloweeneve 💕 @natefillion

I guess he heard I wasn’t single and gave up.
    😉

  2. Snazzy says:

I love him! Firefly was such a great show too.
And I think I recognise her from a soap or something?
I love the fact that the relationship is both age appropriate and fun!
    Congrats to them!

    • Tate says:

I think she was on Days a long time ago.

      • NewWester says:

She played Billie Reed ,I believe

      • Snazzy says:

ah maybe that was it! I haven’t watched soaps in almost 15 years so the characters from back then remained stuck in my brain 🙂

      • lucy2 says:

I remember her from that too, I haven’t watched soaps since college.
It’s been a long time, but she looks a little…different now?

      • michelleb says:

Yes, and she was a really horrible Billie Reed, which says something, because … soaps.

      • that time i didn't care says:

BILLIE REED, thank you. I knew she looked familiar. I’m sure she wasn’t very good, but I was a kid when she was on the show and I remember thinking she was so beautiful. Wow.

      • V4Real says:

        @Tate
And Nathan played Joey the grandson of Asa Buchannan on “One Life to Live.”

Maybe they knew each other from their soap days.

      • LeAnn Stinks says:

Yes, you are correct. She replaced Lisa Rinna as Billie Reed on DOOL.

    • Naya says:

I recognise her from lots of small roles, including one of the earlier seasons of Project Greenlight. She was cast on the film the show was following and the producers kept complaining about her. They rolled their eyes when she refused to do the nude scene at the last minute because I mean, she was in Immanuel afterall (google it). She constantly showed up late and tricked the production assistants into letting her leave early. Plus seemed drunk most of the time, even though she knew she was being filmed for the reality show. I really liked her but then I love me a mess. Get it, Krista.

    • Hawkeye says:

She was also in a bunch of Emmanuelle movies.

  3. NewWester says:

The fur on that t shirt Nathan is wearing for the satyr costume made me look twice. I think that was the idea

    • MoochieMom says:

I didn’t notice the fur. I went right on down. Ugh. Geek girl dying. 🙂 Happy for him though.

  4. Jo says:

    it’s not very new !

  5. Cannibell says:

“The redhead who made co-ed showering look more appealing (to my ex-husband) in the original ‘Starship Troopers'”

    Corey, you are a star.

    • holly hobby says:

She also played the dominatrix in an episode of Castle and had an affair with Brandon Walsh on 90210! Don’t ask me how I know this!

  6. Orange cat says:

Krista Allen = Maitreya from the x files First person shooter. Sorry showing my age.

  7. Lara K says:

    I love him!
He definitely has a type – is it just me or does she look a lot like Stana?
But Im happy he is happy. He’s a fellow Canadian – we need someone hot to keep us warm in winter 🙂

  8. nora says:

They’re a beautiful couple. And yay for men over 40 daring to date women their own age!

    • Lara K says:

      Agreed.
But I’m going to put an uncomfortable question out there.

      Do kids matter?

When I see age appropriate couples like this one (or Joe and Sofia, or Blake and Gwen), where the guy has no kids but the woman does and may be too old to have more, part of me wonders if he will leave her for someone younger who will have his kids.

I mean, I know not every guy wants kids. And kids is not a woman’s sole role. I’m not trying to push an agenda.
But do you think that this is a legitimate concern?

      • Eleonor says:

Boyfriend is 13 years older than me (he is 47)…I don’t know if he is “age appropriate”, or if I am age appropriate for him, he has never dated women in their ’20s…it just has happened…btw: we discussed marriage, and kids. He has a son from his previous marriage. I am not interested in having kids. And I know I have some medical conditions which implies fertility issues , and time keep passing, so I am well aware of what I want.
I think after your ’30s if you are a woman you must have thought about “do we want kids”? And when you start a newrelationship with a grown up man, you can discuss about the matter. It’s not about putting pressure on someone. It’s a bout honesty with each other.

      • Mia4s says:

Interesting (and fair) question. As you say not everyone wants them and even saying that, with IVF or surrogacy at her age it’s not impossible. If you fall in love I think you just figure it out. I know one couple who got together in their 40s and adopted. They’re deliriously happy, the baby girl is gorgeous, all good.

      • Merritt says:

It is only a legitimate concern if one of them wants kids and the kids must be biologically theirs. Otherwise they could adopt or just not have kids together.

      • MoochieMom says:

Asked my husband this (he’s 37 and I’m the same age by a few months). It matters to an extent. He doesn’t want anymore kids. We are happy with one. If I died (eeeek!) he said wouldn’t rule out dating a woman with kids but he stressed the issue of supporting a family. He is very traditional. I got pregnant and we knew I’d stay home (earlier than we thought due to complications but I was going to be a stay at home mom). But at our age you don’t find a lot of prospects without kids. He’s not opposed to kids that aren’t his. Now I have to just not die. 🙂

  9. anniefannie says:

I’m pretty sure Krista played a part in the 2nd Greenlight project ( the campy horror flick)
She was a huge pain in the ass and left early on a day of shooting even though she was on the call sheet. The crew couldn’t stand her .

    • FLORC says:

There’s been loads of words over the years she’s too much trouble than she’s worth on set. Maybe those stories will get more coverage with the attention she’s bringing in now?

I’m happy for them, but skeptical about this couple. Fall fast and hard doesn’t always play out well with added pressure of well documented hissy fits and trists.

      • Rose says:

She is trying so hard to bring coverage to this relationship, this US Weekly reeks to high heaven of a planted story and is nearly word for word of another planted story from April about them in the Daily Mail.

  10. Word says:

    Corey?
    New writer?

  11. Esmom says:

This is just pure speculation of course but he strikes me as low key and laid back and she seems high maintenance. But of course there have been crazier couplings so maybe they can make it work. And of course I could be wrong. I do like that they’re the same age — seems like a novelty in Hollywood couple-dom.

    • tcer says:

I’ve known a lot of laid-back men who gravitate towards high maintenance women. I think that’s a pretty common type of relationship.

  12. Jen43 says:

Okay. Whom have I confused him with? I could have sworn he was on a morning show talking about his wife and kids.

    • Christin says:

I can’t think of anyone he closely resembles. But he’s never been married.

I first noticed him in Waitress. He has a memorable, quirky screen presence.

      • Tough Cookie says:

Waitress!!! Love that movie. And yes he was so good in it. I never much cared for Keri Russell until I saw her in this. And I still miss Adrienne Shelly.

      • holly hobby says:

He played Kate’s husband in Lost too. That’s where I noticed him!

    • SloaneY says:

I want to say he used to have a very long term girlfriend, but I don’t know how long ago that was. Or I might be completely off about that.

That was extremely uninformative, wasn’t it? Lol

    • Jen43 says:

Jason Bateman. I guess I’m the only one who thinks they look alike. Ha

      • holly hobby says:

Yes if you glance at him he resembles Jason Bateman. They even inserted that in one of the Castle episodes. Yes I watch that show but I’m fricking pissed with the new direction it’s on.

      • angela says:

@holly hobby: YES me too. Why can’t they just be happily married? This feels so false…and yes, I know it’s a tv show, LOL

  13. D says:

    I thought he was gay?

Edit : Nevermind , I confused him with John Barrowman

    • BW says:

      SACRILEGE!

    • Holmes says:

I thought he was gay too, and I definitely haven’t confused him with anyone else. I swear to god I remember him openly dating a ginger man around the time of Firefly. A 30 second Google search brings up nothing even alluding to this, so I guess I’m hallucinating and/or have lost my mind.

    • MoochieMom says:

      Not gay. Nope. Just sayin’

    • FLORC says:

A Blind Item has often hinted he was gay and has extensive hair transplants. And since they’re BI they’ve been proven false garbage time and time again.

  14. kibbles says:

Nice to see a man in his 40s dating a woman in her 40s in Hollyweird.

    • mp says:

yeah, I guess. She’s beautiful and generic looking at the same time, in that new housewivey kind of way. You could say she’s 29, 39, or 49 and I would never be able to tell.

      • jugstorecowboy says:

Yes! Sometimes I feel fat and homely, but seriously these actresses are mostly so generic.

      • ichsi says:

This really is his type. Kind of generic looking women with angular jaws and seriously fit bodies. Who wear stripper footwear to red carpets. I don’t know, I love him as an actor – he has the most perfect comedic timing – and he seems nice in interviews and on twitter too. There are a lot of people I admire who speak highly of him but judging by his dating history I doubt that he’s an easy boyfriend, let alone marriage material.

      • Bridget says:

        Enlighten me! What dating history?

  15. Jayna says:

Kristra and George actually dated a second time and then it ended again down the road. I remember gossip being that she was upset that he lured her back in and then it went nowhere.

I remember a TV show with Krista and Stacy Keibler. It was Stacy before George but after DWTS. It was called, “What About Brian?”

I surprisingly really liked the TV sitcom. Krista was good in it and had a lot of charm. Stacy had a small part and was wooden as an actress. It only ran for one season, or maybe two.

  16. NUTBALLS says:

Love me some Cap’n Hammer, tho’ Nathan will be etched in my memory as the second creepiest villain of the Buffy series, after The Gentlemen from “Hush”.

Oh, and he’s my Mal. Hands off!

  17. Insomniac says:

Swoon. I adore Nathan. I adore him even more because he generally dates women in his age range. I hope he’s really happy with her.

    • Holmes says:

I love Nathan too, but when men remain unmarried beyond about 35, there’s usually a reason. For whatever reason, he’s probably not marriage material.

      • PennyLane says:

Agreed: when an educated, successful man still hasn’t gotten married by the age of 35, it wasn’t because he never met any eligible women!

It could be a severe case of immaturity that’s been holding him back, but usually a lack of wedding bells by that age indicates some sort of complication, whether it’s addiction, unresolved sexual orientation issues, the toxic aftermath of a bad parental divorce, or just a total inability to commit – there is something off. Not everyone in this world is meant to get married.

      • lucy2 says:

What!? There are many legitimate reasons why someone would not be married before the age of 35. It doesn’t mean they’re “off” or that there’s something wrong with them any more than it means people who do get married before 35 have their lives together and are doing everything right. We all know that’s not true, so why would the reverse be?

    • LeAnn Stinks says:

      Yes, Fillion is definitely awesome.

  18. browniecakes says:

He’s funny on Twitter. Glad for them. I thought he was cute on Two Guys a Girl and a Pizza Pace. He helps Zachary Levi raise money doing Nerd HQ at Comic Con San Diego for Operation Smile.

  19. Locke Lamora says:

I just started rewatching Firefly the other day. God, I love that show.

    • NUTBALLS says:

I miss that show! I was never more jealous of Christina Hendricks than for her sex scenes with Nathan… *le sigh*

  20. H says:

Krista also dated Michael Rosenbaum after she guest starred on Smallville with him. I never cared for her Billie Reed on Days of our Lives, Lisa Rinna is the better actress.

  21. Miss M says:

She was the girlfriend who waited for George in the car while he was getting his Oscar.

  22. teacakes says:

He’ll always be Captain Malcolm Reynolds to me!

I love how much love and respect he has for Firefly, and how sweet he is to fans even so many years later. Hope he and Krista have a happy love <3333333333

    • SusanneToo says:

He’s definitely a charmer. And he seems to have respect for all his previous work – when OLTL was going off the air I believe he went back for a cameo. I love that Castle is a success. He deserves it.

  23. trishy says:

    Cap’n Tightpants 4EVA!

I just rewatched “Slither” this weekend, such a great, fun horror movie. Nathan is just so charming and charismatic. I hope he’s happy and I echo everyone who says it’s refreshing to see a guy in his 40s dating someone his own age.

  24. Vizia says:

I think they’ve actually been together for some time–I read a rumor about tis at least a year ago?

  25. Amy M. says:

I love Castle! Never watched Firefly so he’ll always be Rick Castle to me. I thought he had a girlfriend for some reason. And while he and Stana Katic have insane chemistry I’ve never heard rumors of them hooking up. I’d rather they not!

    • Locke Lamora says:

He had great chemistry with every female co-star I’ve ever seen him act with.

    • lucy2 says:

Firefly is SOOO good but sadly short lived.
I liked Castle in the beginning, solely on NF’s charm, but after a while it was too formulaic/procedural for me and I gave up. I’m glad he’s had such a big mainstream success though.

  26. Heather Muntean says:

Is bedhead still writing for y’all? OTT

  27. Bridget says:

Did Fillion and Katic really date? I thought they disliked each other.

    • Rose says:

Oh they hate each other with the fire of a 1000 burning suns, however that’s probably due to the fact they were supposedly having an affair for 3 years during the early years of Castle and then she dumped his him.

  28. Penelope says:

    LOVE HIM!

I watch Castle & sigh like schoolgirl over this guy. 🙂

Stana is just beautiful, too–and they have such mad chemistry!

    Lucky Krista Allen!

  29. browniecakes says:

Love how being a ‘Clooney’ girl is kinda like being a ‘Bond’ girl. Even if it wasn’t a great role, didn’t last long, didn’t advance your career, it is now what you are known for.

  30. majicou says:

HOLY SHIT DATING HIS OWN AGE

    • fiona says:

Holy moly, it’s so rare that it made the headline. Good for them 🙂 It’s nice to see a hollywood middle aged man date someone his own age. She’s beautiful.
