Kylie Jenner makes her Vogue debut, gets called out for lying about her surgeries

When Kim Kardashian scored the cover of American Vogue, it was major news. But that really broke the dam, and in the year and a half since Kim’s Vogue cover, Anna Wintour has featured Kendall Jenner a few times within the magazine. I think Kendall’s cover is probably inevitable at this point, but for now, Kendall does not have a Vogue cover. But this is a first – Kylie Jenner did her first photoshoot with Vogue for the January issue. Kylie posed with Bella Hadid (Gigi’s younger sister) and Lottie Moss (Kate Moss’s younger sister). You get the theme, right? Little sisters. And while Vogue allowed another Jenner girl in the magazine, they did something to her to make her unrecognizable.

You can see the Vogue slideshow and mini-interview here. The most interesting quotes are from Kylie, who we all know is trying to be The New Kim. First Kylie says, “I wouldn’t be who I am today if it weren’t for all my sisters.” Very true. I would argue that Kylie might be in a better place if she was raised by wolves. Then Kylie says this about her new app: “It’s like Kim’s, but for a younger generation.” BURN.

Meanwhile, in Obvious News Is Obvious News, a celebrity dermatologist is going on the record saying Kylie is “the number one” example of a celebrity who has gone much too far with cosmetic work. The doctor said: “Kylie is really young though, and there is a lot that I think she has had done at such a young age – fillers, Botox, peels. She has had her hips and butt done for sure.”

Here are some photos of Kylie yesterday, being named the brand ambassador for Nip + Fab. HER FACE.

The DM has a close-up pic of her face from that launch. It’s frightening. It looks like someone recreated Big Ang’s face out of playdoh.

    • amilu says:

Just looked at it. YIKES! Your simile is spot on! I’m pretty morbidly fascinated in watching this girl age. It’s going to be a real horror show!

      • Wentworth Miller says:

I’m with you, Amilu, on the fascination of watching n 18 year slowly turn into her 60 year old mother.

    • Gina says:

Lol at ‘Big Ang’s face out of playdoh’, that’s actually spot on!

I wonder if she even knows though? These girls have such a distorted sense of reality…

    • Lindy79 says:

      18 years old…Jesus wept

      • evie says:

        Holy. Crap. That is atrocious.

      • AmyB says:

WOW! That feature where you can slide over an old pic of Kylie to the new one is all the proof you need that the girl has had MAJOR work done on her face. I would say I care, but I simply don’t. The Kardashian/Jenners are the most selfish, vapid people on the planet and I long for the day when they are simply not relevant anymore. A girl can dream right? LOL

      • Illyra says:

The slide with the old photo kind of shocked me. She was so cute in the before picture… now she looks like someone else. Sad.

      • Tiffany :) says:

Her eyelids are so completely different than the way they used to be (in addition to other things).

I can only imagine what her mother must have said to her pre-surgery, knowing that she was telling a 7 year old Khloe that she needed a nose job.

      • QQ says:

That’s it! im officially calling her Failye not even her own fault, her family, and surgeons are indeed Failing her hard

      • Tessy says:

She turned herself into a blowup doll. Will those lips go back to normal if they stop puffing them up?

      • Paris says:

She ruined her face and body!
Awful! Just awful! Her lips look like worms. She did her nose and chin + breast and butt implants.
She was so fresh and cute, she looked normal and now? Plastic doll and she is only 18! God! This is so wrong! She lost her personality.
Young girls like her, she is role model for girls with low self-esteem. Role model! Plastic doll ir role model!
        Wrong! Wrong! Wrong!
I blame her mother! I blame her sisters!
I believe that plastic surgeries can help people to solve a lot of problems, but plastic surgeries can turn people into monsters.

      • Holly says:

I thought the face flow chart was interesting, but they need to update it from the fast few months.

      • claire says:

@Holly, she should have stopped November 2013 / January 2014. You can tell she had a teeny bit of plumping in lips but she still looks cute, unique and natural.

  2. LadyMTL says:

Good god, she needs to stop with the heavy, caked-on makeup and overdone…everything. I’m 21 years older than she is and I think I’d probably look younger, if you put us side-by-side.

I can’t help but wonder if she has some serious self-esteem issues, to be changing her appearance so radically and at such a young age.

    • Bettyrose says:

Self esteem issues are for normal people. This tragic girl has a completely warped understanding of the world. But yes I think she probably obesses over every “imperfection,” which is to say any body part that doesn’t resemble a plastic doll. And not because society has done that to her. Her family has.

      • word says:

I agree. Her family has warped her mind. She was probably told “oh Kylie if you just get your lips done you’d look so much prettier” and then they created a monster who is aiming for “perfection” but in the process is looking extremely fake. She was probably told when it comes to females “looks are everything” and if she wanted to make easy money she’d better get with “the brand”. Rob was told the opposite…that he needed to get a degree and a 9 to 5 job. This family is f*cked up.

      • lucy2 says:

I think you’re right, word. I shudder to think of what her mother, and possibly sisters too, has said to her over the years. Combine that with all the media attention, it’s no wonder she’s a mess.

      • franny says:

The Kardashian’s “fix” everything they don’t like physically about themselves, while the rest of us have to learn to accept who we are. Kind of makes me grateful that I had to learn to love myself the way I was born rather than popping into the surgeon’s office at 16.

    • Belle Epoch says:

Interesting psychological problem. All she does it look at selfies/photos of herself. I think she has totally forgotten that real people are seeing her close up and FOR REALZ. They can see the pancake makeup and weird chin lumps that are less obvious in a photo. Her eyebrows are 100% black pencil, which does NOT work when you are talking to the person. In her head she really only exists in digital form.

  3. GingerCrunch says:

“Raised by wolves”, haha! My go-to phrase lately.

  4. The Eternal Side-Eye says:

Kylie’s current face is just a tragedy, especially in so superficial a family. She hit the wall faster than any of her sisters.

At one point she looked like a younger version of Kim, now I dare say she looks older than her.

    • qwerty says:

It must take so much work and commitment to make sure her roots are not showing, her eyebrows are always perfectly dyed and there are no smudges from bronzers and fake tans. Kim is pale wihout all this stuff but this girl had a full-on race transplant.

      • me says:

Well when you don’t have to worry about college classes or a 9 to 5 job…you have a maid, and a chef…what else are you supposed to do all day?

  5. Maya says:

Every time I see this girl I just feel sad for her. She never really had a chance.

  6. Dawn says:

Why are they just calling out Kylie on all these surgeries and not the Queen of surgery her two older sisters name Kim and Khloe? Either they call them all out or they leave it alone. It is not fair for Kylie to take it all on her young shoulders. Kris and Bruce Jenner did a bang up job raising their kids…not. They abdicated their authority over Kylie when she was around fifteen and let Tyga take over. Shameful.

    • swack says:

They did call Kim out on her surgeries also. Biggest problem with Kylie having these type of surgeries (especially any that change her body permanently) is that she is young and still changing and probably should wait a few years.

    • AmyB says:

Kim and Khloe are constantly called out….at least that is my impression. Of course they deny it too, but what do you expect from this family? And I agree with @swack, the tragic thing about Kylie is that she is so young. At least with Kim and Khloe, they were older before they ridiculously altered their bodies to look cartoonish.

    • Linn says:

I hear Kim get called out about it all the time and the only reason Kloe doesn’t get called out is because she doesn’t get so mouch publicity in general. At least where I live.

On the other hand Kylie seems to be everywhere, even more so than Kim.

It also doens’t help that Kylie started with all the surgeries as a minor and being in the public eye while doing so.#

That said, she looks surprisingly nice in the Vogue picture. At least for her standard. So much prettier without the horrible make-up and clothes.

  7. littlemissnaughty says:

I honestly think plastic surgery on minors should be illegal. Parents’ consent or no consent, it’s unnecessary. Unless there’s a medical reason, don’t cut up the children ffs.

    • Bettyrose says:

I think we discussed previously that it is, if not illegal, considered highly unethical in the medical world, but with enough money there will always be options. If not in the U.S., elsewhere.

  8. perplexed says:

    Botox??? Why?

  9. nora says:

*shrug* I think she looks nice. It’s good to see her without so much make-up and actually looking her age for once.

    • Easypeasy123 says:

I think she looks nice too. It is unfortunate she thinks her worth is based on her looks but I understand it. She looks really pretty in the Vogue pictures.

      • Zwella Ingrid says:

I think she looks pretty in the vogue picture with the other girls. She looks relatively make up free compared to how she usually looks.

    • FingerBinger says:

Kylie still looks at least 10 years older than those girls.

    • Addison DeWitt says:

I agree with you; she does look great. I’m a fan of the heavy makeup look.

  10. FingerBinger says:

If you have eyes you can see Kylie had work done. You don’t have to be a doctor too see that.

  11. BendyWindy says:

That’s the youngest she’s looked in a while.

    • Size Does Matter says:

Yes but what did they do to her face? It almost looks like they smeared the camera lens with Vaseline.

  12. Becks says:

Those rich kids all get plastic surgery in their teens. Bella Hadid got a nose job and lip fillers. I guess her mother really wanted her to have a modeling career. It really is sad that these kids are pressured into surgery at such a young age.

    • kate says:

A nose job in your mid-to late teens isn’t really that unusual. 20 years ago when I was in school at least 5-10 girls would have a nose-job each year, and we were all firmly lower middle class.

  13. Deesquared says:

She looks so much fresher and dresses age appropriate for Vogue, but then in that little bit, the girls start a “shag, marry, kill” test and I just turned it off.

  14. Lydia says:

I didn’t see where or how she was called out for lying.

  15. FrenchGirlChi says:

Well, in that little teenage mind of hers she nothing wrong.

In today society this what the young women praise and some of the older men fumble over.

  16. Lydia says:

Also, I think I have become desensitized to the HER FACE. She has looked this way for a while, it is not that shocking to me.

  17. Antonym says:

The pink dress in the Vogue shoot is beautiful.

That’s all I’ve got. (Momma always said “if you can’t say something nice…”)

    • MediaMaven says:

I always follow the advice of Clairee Belcher – “if you can’t say something nice about anyone, come sit by me.”

  18. jess1632 says:

She doesn’t look unrecognizable just wearing less makeup for once…I think she and all the girls in the vogue photoshoot look very ethereal and bohemian-basically if I was girl I would want to own dresses in that kind of style. As for the red carpet I agree w everything said before me that she looks way older, busted and try hard…

  19. Natalie says:

Can we start a movement to replace Anna Wintour at Vogue? She’s out of ideas. And she’s been there for over twenty years. Can’t she just take Alexander Lieberman’s old position?

Kendall still can’t model and I’m not interested in Vogue turning into an American Tatler. We already have Town and Country.

  20. Paige says:

how exactly does one get their hips “done”???

  21. Andrea says:

I think she looks good in the Vogue pictures. My personal opinion is she used way to much filler in her lips and wears to much make-up. But she’s a young women and figuring things out. I look back at some of my pictures and all I can think is WTF was I thinking. But at the time I thought I looked great. Getting fillers or Botox is not a big deal anymore. I know so many people that get it done and I think it looks worse in pictures than in person. Its a shame that she started a such a young age, but maybe that’s societies fault for critiquing a young women in probably the most insecure time of a women life.

  22. Reine_Didon says:

Growing up my mom also told me I’d look so much prettier if I had a straight nose. I have a bump on my nose, commonly known as ethnic nose. But I’ve always said I am what I am I won’t change how I was born. Now I am 26 and I had that nose job ! It makes me feel more at ease while taking photos and not afraid anymore when someone stares at me.
But the decision was mine. I don’t live with my mom since I am 18, I have 2 jobs I am finishing a PhD. I took the decision by meself for myself, to make my life easier.
Even when you grow up with a f*cked up mom that thinks of perfection at every level, you still can manage to control the effects of your upringing on you.

    • Erinn says:

I think that’s the difference too – you made the decision on your own, when you weren’t still super young. And I don’t personally have as much issue with even teens getting a nose job – if it’s REALLY bothering them. There’s no reason for fillers and anything like that though – and it startles me that people willingly perform things like fillers and lypo on young girls.

  23. Goo says:

Keeping up with the Kardashians, literally, is a full time job…. I pity this child. Yes, I said child because she is. It’s just sad!

    I see a Kim Richards in Kylie’s future…

  24. me says:

The Vogue pictures are pretty. But what I don’t like is the fact that at least 2 of those 3 girls has had “work” done. Why should we praise their “beauty” when it’s fake? What are we teaching girls out there?

  25. alexc says:

The most depressing thing is she’d never have ended up in Vogue if she didn’t redo her eyes, lips, etc. Rewarding plastic beauty is very damaging and counterproductive. Anna Wintour has lost the plot.

    • me says:

Agree ! Also, she wouldn’t be in Vogue if it wasn’t for Kanye. Let’s be real. Kanye has elevated these fools. They haven’t earned any of it.

      • teacakes says:

Exactly. They were shilling for hair extensions and scam kredit kards before Kanye and if their magazine covers were of the downmarket/men’s mag ilk (think Maxim), high fashion would not have touched them (including the ‘model’ one) with a ten-foot stick then.

He’s the sole reason why any of them is able to get into Vogue or book any jobs in fashion. More fool him.

    • Jasmine says:

Kylie looks young and fresh in the Vogue picture, but that is still not her real face. I believe from looking at the DM pictures that her face was reconstructed for the sole purpose of looking beautiful for the cameras as a Khardasian brand. When she closes her mouth and poses she looks beautiful, but when she smiles her face starts to distort. I can imagine it being harder for her to eat, smile, laugh, lick her lips, or talk like a normal 18 year old with her face and lips being so artificially enhanced. No wonder a lot of times she is seen in photographs holding her face. It may even feel heavy at times, as it is no longer the soft, youthful face of an 18 year old.

  26. Clairej says:

Lottie is the only one of the three that looks fresh and sweet. Kylie looks had it. Even though they have washed her down and taken off the makeup she still can’t pass for 18. She Her family are repulsive.

    • teacakes says:

Lottie also looks like she doesn’t want to be there at all, everything about her expression and body language says ‘I’m doing this because my agency told me to, now please can I leave?’

      • Clairej says:

I hate that even in that picture she has to be a bit sexualised. The other girls are all covered up, but Kylie has the low cut dress and the suggestion she is braless. God I wish she would go away!

  27. KCAT says:

    Her parents are GARBAGE!

  28. kimbers says:

I really hate to say mean things about a girl who obviously has issues in life, obvious low self worth (not $), seemingly emotionally abusive parents and tital dead eyes… I’m sure as hell thinking them. Why does she look the same age as kourtney?

  29. ch2 says:

PEople never look right with plastic surgery… especially up close they look like they’re wearing someone else’s skin.

  30. iheartgossip says:

Fast forward 15 years and her looks will be scary. She never stood a chance with such horrible parents, however; she’s at an age now where she is responsible.

  31. serena says:

I don’t even feel sorry for her. Look at her face in the photoshoot, it’s so frozen it’s scary. Unlike the others two (who by the way are really nothing special) Kylie can’t even smile or really change expression, except for the perpetual duck face.
She seems ‘fresher’ and younger in the photoshoot because they used light make up (she usually wears a lot, plus darker foundation/bronzer) and floreal print dresses (not mini black dresses with some part of her body hanging out). Still, she looks double her age. N

  32. Cc says:

I get that she probably felt like the ugly duckling in her family, with her adult sisters being what she wanted to be, so she totally fast-forwarded growing up and changing and maturing. I mean, who wasn’t a little (or a lot) awkward in their teenage and early young-adult years? I cringe so hard when I look at pictures of myself all the way from when I was 13 to probably 22. She didn’t give her body time and it’s sad. I can’t even imagine what she will look like in 10, 20 years. All that unnecessary cosmetic surgery so early in life cannot be good for one’s body. But I guess she’s her own person and will have to deal with it.

The chin/jaw/actual shape of her face is what I find especially disturbing, it looks so short now, and it makes her head look like an anime doll of something. The proportions are not right.
