Here’s an early Christmas present, from me to you. Keanu Reeves has been filming John Wick 2 for a few months, and we’ve had tons of set photos, none of which were really all that interesting. But this week, Keanu has been filming in NYC, specifically on the Brooklyn Bridge. And in a moment of downtime, Keanu took his pit bull puppy for a walk on the bridge.
This dog is amazing – he’s a beautiful color and he’s got beautiful markings. I cannot for life of me find out what this dog’s name is, or even if the dog is a he or she. Most press outlets do say that this pit bull isn’t a stunt dog though – this isn’t just a dog for the movie, this is really Keanu’s dog? As for John Wick 2, guess what? It’s going to be a mini-Matrix reunion! Laurence Fishburne has filmed a cameo for the film.
Keanu is 51 years old. To me, he’s everything that an older bachelor should be – he’s not afraid of commitment, he’s had his heart broken, he lives a mostly quiet life with his dog, etc. Sigh… I love him. Keanu is forever.

Agree…think Pit Bulls are a beautiful breed. So glad its ears are not clipped…can’t stand that. And I’d kiss both the Pit Bull and Keanu!

We had a brindle pit whose ears were clipped when he came to us. His clipped ears were precious. But I would never do that to a doggy given the choice 🙁 My husband’s parents have cocker spaniels with docked tails. He loves his dogs, but is sad his parents docked their tails without stopping to think why they were doing it.
You had me at “Would you like some photos of Keanu…?” I don’t care if he’s with his dog, cat or pet llama. Keanu forever! I do wonder why he looks kind of pissed in these photos, though.
Are we sure they’re not filming a scene? He just looks like he’s in character. I mean, I love scruffy Keanu, but would he really walk around NYC in a dirty shirt, wearing a wedding ring that’s probably a prop? Plus the leash looks odd, like something an animal wrangler would use to make sure their doggy actor doesn’t chase after a pigeon, but that can be CGI’d out of the frame later.
Still appreciate the photos though, now I can spend all day deciding which crush is bigger, the one I have for Keanu, or the new one I’ve got for the dog.
It looks like one of those leashes that they will CGI out during editing to make the pup look as if he’s walking alongside Keanu without a leash..
He has a wedding ring on, so yeah he is probably filming.
It is a scene. Keanu doesn’t have a dog or any pet for that matter. He has also spoken about it a number of times (in difference from never mentioning or acknowleding “the love of his life”). But we must not let the facts be in the way of the “sweet hearbroken stuffy Keanu” PR narrative, so masterfully thteaded over decades. LOL
Yeah and the gash on his forehead.
He’s still filming John Wick 2. My guess is the story picks up where the first 1 one ends, hence the dog, injuries and the same outfits.
I watched By The Sea yesterday. I spent 2 hours staring at Brad Pitt’s face and all I could think of was: wtf happened to your face, brah?? I’ll pick Keanu over him any day of the week. He seems a lot nicer as well.
Are you sure that’s his dog? Because he has a Pit in the movie. But I totally agree with you on the older bachelor. He’s pushing all my buttons. Rawr! Love him.
It makes sense for him to have a dog in the movie. He had one in the first film that was a present from his deceased wife that the bad guys killed. I think he rescued a different dog towards the end. This might be the rescue.I knew it was just a movie but I cried a bit when they killed that puppy. And I applauded Keanu’s character for going all Rambo on their asses.
Man, I LOVED John Wick. I was so surprised by it. Can not WAIT for Wick 2.
I knew it was coming and couldn’t watch because PUPPY! They deserved every bit of ass kicking he gave them.
I LOVED John Wick also! I think 90% of that love is entirely because of Keanu and his charm – otherwise I probably would have only been ‘meh’, or even ‘blech’ about the film. Only Keanu could make a cold-blooded assassin seem lovable. Bonus points awarded for Ian McShane though, I love him too.
Wait… what?! Thanks for letting me know, because I read a review (or maybe just a random comment?) that reassured viewers the dog didn’t actually die. I wish I could remember who said that… because they specifically encouraged people like me to enjoy the movie because it was “safe” for animal lovers to watch.
It looks just like the dog from the end of the movie… Which I have watched a few times for Keanu. But I have to skip the first puppy part.

I was lucky enough to hang with him a few times 10 years ago… He even kissed my cheek once sigh. And I will never NEVER not love this man. No joke, I’m due with a boy in 4 and a half weeks and I told my husband (whose first name we are using for our son) I may have to give my boy Keanu as a middle name. The love is so strong – it is TRULY forever 💗💗💗💗

No, he didn’t. He bought the special effects crew Harley Davidsons – a great gesture of respect and appreciation for their work but nowhere near his salary. Again a myth he has spoken against a number of times himself but people keep insisting on the myth.

Was once in an elevator at the Chateau Marmont with him and his agent (assumed it was his agent he was very “agenty”). Tiny elevator so we were pretty much all smushed together. He quoted Shakespeare for the whole ride. Pretty cool.

One of the best looking 51-year-old actors out there. Keanu is a vampire like John Stamos. Big difference between the two is that Keanu is a thousand times more likeable and seems like the kind of guy you’d want to have a long term relationship with.

Goodness gracious! Too much puppy cuteness. Though I’m biased because I have a pitty and I’m a vet. KR is pretty cute too. I once saw him at whole foods in LA, he was in front of me at the checkout line. He is so marvelously tall and lanky and pale in person.
