Before hitting the Grammys stage to deliver a pretty solid version of Lionel Richie’s “Hello” (which Lionel himself and Bruno Mars thoroughly enjoyed), Demi Lovato was confident on the red carpet in a suit by Norisol Ferrari. It’s alright, I guess, nothing spectacular. With the plunging neckline, the jacket does lend an edge to the ensemble, and I’m sure the former Disney star turned a head or two with this outfit. I am fascinated by the necklace. It’s giving me a “soda can pull tab” vibe. She wore a white version of the same jacket, paired with black pants, for the Lionel tribute. I did notice that she wasn’t wearing the ring she got from Wilmer for Valentine’s Day. Girl got a weave too. As a blonde who once got extensions (hey, it was the 90s), weaves look better on dark haired women, they’re not quite so obvious. I dig it. Well played for your Grammy debut, Demi.
Chrissy Teigen looked positively angelic in a white gown by Yousef Al-Jasmi. The 30-year-old model dazzled in the neoprene gown, complete with a bling encrusted cape, that showcased her growing baby bump (she and husband John Legend are expecting their first child, a girl). Chrissy accessorized her dress with 20-carat diamond stud earrings and a rectangle ring, both by Lorraine Schwartz, and a second diamond ring by Ofira Jewels.
Apparently the choice to wear this particular gown came sort of last minute for Chrissy. She told People magazine that regarding her fittings, “I grow two inches every 12 days…not that anyone’s counting. They’re different every time because I keep growing like crazy. But we’re looking at two very different options.” I think she definitely made the right choice here. Hubby John, who won a Grammy for best song written for visual media for “Glory” (awarded prior to the televised portion of the ceremony), looked dapper in a Gucci tuxedo with copper accents. John also took part in the Lionel Richie tribute, singing the Commodores hit “Easy”. These two are “easy” on the eyes. They make a gorgeous couple.
Best New Artist winner Meghan Trainor wore a sparkly black Michael Costello gown on the red carpet. The singer’s date for the evening was her Dad (which is kind of sweet) and she used the occasion to not only show off a new auburn hair color, but announced that her new album would be available for pre-order “around March 4th.”
Not only did she sing “You Are” during the Lionel Richie tribute, she also delivered an emotional acceptance speech after winning her award. Through her tears, she thanked her team for “looking at me like an artist” and her parents for “always believing in [her].” Before leaving the stage, she said, “I’m a mess, I have to go cry.” So, the dress. It’s elegant, it is situation-appropriate. That’s about it. It looks a little dated (are shoulder pads back?) and makes her look a little bit too old for her 22 years. Her hair looked great and I do love the clutch she’s carrying.

Lovato’s necklace looks like 3 soda tabs linked together LOL
Demi looked harsh and older than she is. Chrissy and John looked perfect as they always do.
Yes. Had that excellent jacket been paired with tailored shorts, it would’ve been a hit.
Demi’s hair and makeup was so fresh and beautiful!! She killed it on LR song. Wow! Why doesn’t she release music like that?!?!
Demi sounded so good on her part in the tribute.
Meghan was the worse in my opinion
Agree on Demi, but I think Luke Bryan was the worst and Meghan the runner up.
Agreed on Demi she looked great as well.
Agreed on Luke he was the worst followed by Meghan. They should’ve cut them out. She also didn’t deserve BNA either
I love Chrissy’s outfit here. Demi does look like she managed to age a few year since I last saw a picture of her. I like Meghan’s new hair colour.
Mehgan has been around atleast two or three years correct, how she still get awarded new artist.
My question exactly. Even if she is brand new, SHE’S the best new artist out there?
Demi’s outfit was too mature for her, but holy hourglass, her shape is amazing.
I find neither Chrissy nor John attractive, and they are both annoying, but they do make a cute couple.
Meghan looks so much better with that hair. Too bad her dress was also way too mature
So NO The dress was sexy secretary in the top, drunk lady who stayed lounging in the bottom, also the way she yelled through one of my favorite songs in everdom was criminal also that tribute was so lacking in charisma, lionel himself had to get up to fix it.
Not a fan of Teigen and I can say with utter legit feels she killed her look yesterday!
Hurray for Meghan learning to pose with her mouth closed for having actual flattering hair in a night of bad wigs and too much hairspray and for actually looking good (even if I wont buy her cd)
Demi’s hair looks beautiful and the outfit is nice, not wow to me.
Chrissy looks amazing, she should’ve styled Kim when she was pregnant. Chrissy always looks great and nows how to dress her baby bump… And I am actually glad you wrote her “husband” there because for some strange reason people keep insulting her on social media for being the “untalented, unaccomplished model baby mama ” of John Legend. People know not how to google?
She’s the untalented wife of John Legend then. How did she become a thing? Funny hiw marrying someone can make an entire career for some people.
She’s a model (which is a real career) and she’s a cook, an author, with a cookbook getting good/great reviews. That’s not untalented, just because you don’t like her brand. AND she’s admitted that being with John boosted her career, which doesn’t mean she doesn’t hustle and work hard.
How many models get that kind of exposure? Modellin is a career but it doesn’t require any talent. She is a bad TV host from what I have seen and every celebrity and their mother have a cookbook out these days. She has hustle, not talent. Good on her for admiting marrying him helped her career.
I don’t know about your talents, but to me, an average cook, being a Great cook making up recipes and stuff like that, does mean she *has* a talent: of being a cook – a real career too.
I thought you had to go to culinary school to be a cook. Or at least have some experience. Guess not.
So, every singer is not a musician unless they go to Music School?
Every painter isn’t one unless they go to Art school?
Every designer isn’t one unless they go to a Fashion School?
That reasoning that people need to go to conventional school to master a skill defeats the notion that we can just have an innate talent, and be great at it without any education – isn’t valid IMO. Plenty of successful people are great at what they do without *conventional* education.
But, OK she’s not a cook, she’s a foodie, a food enthusiast, and she has a book with her recipes in it. Doesn’t mean she’s not good at it.
Chrissy is basically a personality. She’s branded herself as a food enthusiast over the years through her Social Media over the years, and hustled HARD. She’s kind of one of those personalities that you either love or find grating.
As far as the cookbook goes, any celebrity who brands themselves as a foodie eventually gets one, so that doesn’t bug me.
Cooking is a skill. It’s not the same as singing or painting. The same way someone can’t be a nurse unless they went to nursing school and worked as a nurse. I can cook, but I’m not A cook. Maybe it’s a language thing because I just realised that in my language we have the same word for cook and chef. But I still think she’s not a cook. A food enthusiast sounds better. And a celebrity cookbook is like a celebirty perfume these days. Anyone can get one.
In my country you also don’t get to be a painter unless you go to art school or a designer unless you go to fashion school or an actor unles you go to drama school. So maybe our misunderstanding is a cultural thing aswell.
@Locke Lamora yes might be, I’m not American, I’m African and in my country, few singers/ painters or fashion designers have studied to do so. Also, those careers aren’t considered real careers so we only have one or two art schools, a few cooking schools – in which you become a professional and then go work at a hotel or restaurant.
most people are just good at something and they do it, and succeed despite the fact that there isn’t a place to educate themselves and perfect their skill.
I’m a fashion designer, but i had to study in another country. on the other hand, one of the most famous fashion designers we have never went to fashion school, and isn’t really good at drawing or sewing. he just puts it together and it’s beautiful.
So yes, while I get the point you are making, i also think that someone can get the title without having being conventionally educated. Probably not Chrissy’s case, but I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt.
Meghan is 22??? I thought she was around 35 or more.
I like Megan, and I think she looked great. Chrissy and John also killed it.
Woah, she’s had a lot of botox….
Christy is wearing an awful lot of dress for someone who’s just the wife of a nominee. Perhaps the sparkly cape was a bit much?
CT looks so lovely. They are one hot couple.
Hmmm…. it’s a sad day for the Grammys when Chrissy rocking a “pregnant bride” look and Meghan wearing some vintage Knots Landing are the best-dressed of the night.
Demi looks good, and she does have a strong voice. She was one of the few who sounded good all night.
Meghan looks nice too but the look does age her.
Nothing is hanging out on any of these 3 so they all get a thumbs up from me!
Demi looked really fine, although I think the jewerly were too much and kinda tacky (would have been better in gold and less thick).
Meghan Trainor really is a mess, the unkept hair (failed beach waves) the 80’s shoulder pads .. too much, nope.
Pregnancy really agrees with Teigen. She’s glowing.
