In between his work with wounded veterans and his advance work for the Invictus Games in May, Prince Harry found time to make a trip to Nepal. These are some lovely photos of Harry over the weekend and today in Nepal. So far, he’s visited some of the sites destroyed by 2015 earthquake and he’s visited some Red Cross sites as they are still on the ground dealing with the humanitarian disaster.
Like Prince William, Harry cares about conservation efforts. Unlike William, Harry doesn’t deflect to conservation work when he’s being criticized for being work-shy. Harry visited the Bardia National Park in search of tigers, but he didn’t get to see any. He did get to see an elephant though! And he got to play-act at being a tiger for the tiger camera-trap. When Harry signed the guest book, he literally signed it “Capt. Wales!” With an exclamation point, because he’s adorable.

Anyway, Harry was respectful and lovely throughout his trip. Tonight he’s going to be spending the night in the “hamlet” of Leorani, in the mountains. I think he’s going to camp out. Lovely, lovely Harry. The @KensingtonRoyal Twitter has been posting tons of pics – go here to see more.
PS… Lately there hasn’t been a lot of love for Harry, so if you want me to continue writing about him when we get new photos, honk if you love Harry!!

As for the Kartrashians, I am fed up to here with them. I hope their 15 minutes are almost over.
William articles are fun for snark but Harry is just comes across as a good and hard working person who actually cares about the causes he’s involved in. William never projects any warmth or true emotion to me. I guess he projects petulance and a lack of interest. Harry has all the charm!

Discuss why the Royal press DOES seem to be including Harry as being work shy along with the Cambridges? Is it because they’re annoyed with him not giving them anything easy to write about his social life?
Analyze some of the odd tension in that interview from about a month ago with the brothers I just saw…
Based on Harry’s odd/annoyed? look at Will, think Will was lying about Harry going to their house for food.
He seems like a jerk for an older brother.
It will continue until Harry gets a paying job. The Palace never said that he was going to solely do royal engagements. It was announced he was leaving the Army, working in Africa, and would then be looking for a new job. Volunteering with rehab 2-3 days a week doesn’t silence the critics.
Many taxpayers do not want Harry to be a working royal ever. They want him and his future spouse to be private citizens not “on the dole” like W&K. He cannot be seen to do more than William and he cannot be a “full-time royal” (#whateverfulltimeroyalmeans) if William and Kate refuse to be.
Lordy, if Harry can’t be seen to do more than William, that leaves not very much to do, does it?
That concept never actually occurred to me, but it does make sense – in the twisted sort of logic that governs how the British monarchy manages things.
That’s insane! He’s the one that truly connects to people. He oozes charisma and he’s good at these public appearances. Will & Kate will never be able to pull that off. They should just play to their strengths. Of which W&K have none.
ETA: Harry seems a lot less wasteful of taxpayers’ money than Will and Kate.
Completely agree with the perception Wills is probably a jerk to Harry. I feel sorry for Harry in that regard.
I saw an interview years ago with both of them and Harry was so much more charming and Will cut him a few times in the interview . Harry looked at him confused but it was clear he was used to saying nothing. I thought it was just sibling stuff but it did stick out to me and so did Workshy’s petulant expression.

I don’t get why the Cambridges will visit India and Bhutan next month when Harry now is in the neighbour country. Nepal is in the middle so why can’t awesome Harry do the big tour?

It may have been the Foreign Office receive a request for “a member of the BRF” to visit X places. At other times, the request has specifically been for Harry and William was sent instead (China).
W&K are known for padding their numbers with tours, as tours are the few work things they’re willing to do. If this was dangled in front of them, they’d grab it. I’m sure William would NOT ALLOW a photo op of Harry alone in front of the Taj Mahal. He and his wife have to do the Diana-esque posing themselves so he would have claimed India for his tour.
There was an article out late last year in which it was said that W&K might be going on an official Caribbean tour in Spring of this year, so then came the criticism.
I don’t know why they’re going to India and Bhutan. At least with Harry’s trip to Nepal, the main purposes are to learn about the ongoing aid work for the earthquake victims and to pay respect to the Gurkhas and their families, as Harry spent some time living with one of their battalions while in Afghanistan.
Oh wait, a recent article reported that W&K will be learning about mental health issues by going to see those helping the poor, or something like that, in the area based on the location of the movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire.’ Yeah, because that experience won’t be wasted on them, right?
This would fit in with Kate’s idea that mental illness is based on improper parenting and teacher support, or as some have interpreted as ‘poor people aren’t doing a good enough job parenting as the richer folks do.’
I wonder if they tried to “take” Edward and Sophie’s recent tour of the Bahamas, Florida & Cayman Islands and were slapped down?

For the Harry articles, I spend more of my time looking at the pics than writing posts. Opposite of the W&K articles.
It must be fun being Harry’s type of royal. He camps out under the night sky in various countries, goes to places that aren’t necessarily tourist spots so therefore gets to meet more regular people and see more of the realness of a country, and he has a natural ease among whatever crowd he’s with, which must make meeting new people fun and enjoyable.

I don’t comment much on any of the posts either, but the Harry posts are some of my favorites. More Harry, less kartrashian.
This is what a Royal should be doing on a regular basis. Hardly anyone criticizes Harry anymore and no one really cares about his personal escapades or whatever blonde he’s hooking up with at the moment because he does his work and does it with a smile on his handsome face. That is all people expect of from William and Kate, not whether she is wearing a cute dress or if more photos of their children will be released to the public. Sure, those things are nice, but what really matters is showing the world that they are decent human beings with some compassion for the less fortunate and the desire to want to use their position to make the world a better place to live. This is what Harry does each time we see him in an official role as a royal. He is the embodiment of his mother if not an even more charming public figure with less drama than Diana. His mother would be very proud of him.
Honk to infinity beyond! Even more than being a gingery hunk of adorableness, the work that he does and his clear passion for people makes him cover worthy!!
He has made mistake in the past, but he is the one who has inherited Diana’s ability to play the media game, I remember the joke he made about himself after the naked pictures of him were all over the places: only one joke everybody laugh, and everything was forgotten. And because he works really hard, so people are more prone to forget mistakes here and there.
William hasn’t really understood.
But I think Diana knew this: I remember an interview of her with kids, and she said “Herry is like me, he is the bad boy”. I think she knew Herry was more similar to her than people would have thought, she would be really proud of him.

To me, this is what Royal Work looks like. Goodwill trips, drawing attention to charities which need aide, gladhanding donors, etc. Harry’s got it spot on. These people are born into wealth, class and privilege, it is the very *least* they can do to give back. I can’t understand how Will/Kate don’t get this when they have very good examples all around – The Queen, Prince Phillip, Prince Charles & Camilla, Edward & Sophie, Princess Anne – they’re ALL doing it, but of course, the press is going to focus on them and they’re giving a real black eye to the entire situation at the moment.

Honk. Harry has his issues, but he’s far more personable, hard-working and engaging than Sour Will. Perhaps it’s because being, what, fourth in line now? gives him some freedom. I like reading about it, and I like it that he at least seems to be very hands-on and ‘there’, wherever he goes. I would compare him to Diana. He wins hearts. Will and Kate are just so… lifeless.
Your comparison to Diana rings true for me, too. Caring and engaging versus (W&K) just doing time.

I love to read about Harry, but it’s hard to say much about a well-adjusted, hard working veteran who does his job! Other than, “I’d be happy to give up my privacy for a luxurious lifestyle and opportunities to help make a difference in the lives of others, so, yes, I’ll marry you!” I’m a homebody, anyway, so losing the ability to go out is no big deal.
I’d also like to read about what the other actually-working royals are up to, like when Go Fug Yourself does the Royals Roundup. Sophie, Anne, and Charles/Camilla don’t get any American press for their events, and it would be nice to have their work and the Cambridges laziness in one place for easy contrast!

There was an article in the UK press about the fact he is torn between wanting the family life and being a batchelor..perhaps the ‘suitable girl’ to provide the family and then someone totally different in his mid life crisis phase!
Between his parents’ divorce and the strange duo he calls his brother and sister-in-law, it’s going to be interesting to see what he does. He could end up marrying much later in life.
That’s our plan. Harry and I knew as a soon to be divorced woman with children I would not immediately be accepted. And the whole American thing after Wallis…lets just say it would be dicey. But the beauty of him also being divorced is that I can pull a Camilla and be totally acceptable. But please keep this under wraps as it’s the long game we are playing here.

I wonder why he and Will did not want to take on the Prince’s Trust ? It seemed to me it would have been a great position (too much work for them ?) and they could still pursue some of their own interests (Sentabale, Tusk Trust). I’ve not seen much about this, but it is Charles’ legacy.
